The room was very clean as were the reception and stairway but the rest of the hotel is still being refurbed, the bar was closed with no access to any food or drink. I am sure it will be very nice when it is finished. The staff were very helpfull.

Nicely refurbished room, heating took forever to come on but warm once working ok. Hot water not up to standard as it takes well over 2 minutes for hot water to come through. Hot tap and shower needed to be in full for many minutes to draw hot water through.

Inside better than outside

As you pull up into the car park the first thought is..is it derelict, shut down?
Entrance through the painfully slow auto doors leads into slightly better looking reception area, very helpful receptionist and nice new carpet on the floor. The hotel is being refurbished and therefore no bar or food available. The room allocated to me was nicely refurbished, possibly the nicest bathroom I’ve stayed in for a while, thick new carpet and comfy mattress. However, the aluminium windows hardly opened to get rid of the overpowering smell of paint. The heating did not work so quite chilly overnight.
Would consider staying again if there was food/drink provision but it’s not in an area that you could walk to a pub/restaurant that I could find.

This is a hotel where there are lots of residents loitering outside and inside and is very off putting. This hotel looks untidy and definitely has the resemblance of youth hostel. I wouldn’t book again

Incredibly tired hotel, with no services.
On the Positive, the room was clean and shower worked well with plenty of hot water
Wi-Fi in room was perfectly reasonable
No bar, no restaurant facilities that I could use, as was advised by checking staff not to. Entrance doors that seem to be on Prozac lift that worked but made terrible noises and made me feel very uncomfortable.. Windows in bedroom the only opened one centimetre and that was after I’d shove them hard to open at all. Car park that was covered in Garden rubbish, Which had been there for months by the look. Most areas were tatty.

DO NOT STAY. This is an awful Hotel. I paid £115 for a grotty, run down room. The whole place smells. I asked Hotels.com for a refund but they couldn't promise me one until they spoke to the Hotel the next morning, leaving me no option but to stay. To be honest I am disappointed that Hotels.com have this Hotel on their site. The staff are very rude and proceeded to insult me because I wasn't happy. The room walls are covered in stains, bathroom looks dirty, the whole place made my skin crawl. You can’t sleep because the heating system pipe work bangs even though I had my radiator turned off! So please avoid..

Do NOT stay!

This property was like a half wayhouse.
People eating in lifts, whole downstairs stunk of curry, whole place was very badic run down and grubby.
This is not what i expect when booking through Hotels.com.
Maybe worth a site visit, then i am sure you will remove this property.
It was so over priced.
I usually pay around £100-£190 and have always been comfortable with the accommodation.

Awful, AVOID this place.

This is not a hotel in any shape or form. This is a hostel for immigrants, which I’m not against but should’ve been clarified before. I shared lifts with some questionable characters and if I was a lone female guest I think I would’ve been terrified so if you are a lone female then I’d suggest you avoid this place.
Upon arrival there was blood on the stairs leading to the entrance where we were greeted by a not very friendly security guard. We checked in, which was pain free but got given a single key to our rooms. Really didn’t need the key though as my colleagues door could be pushed open without one. We chucked our bags into our rooms and went downstairs to find somewhere to eat. Two policemen were in reception taking away one of the non paying guests from far away lands. There is no where near really to eat so had to walk about 20minutes to find a harvester. The whole place is dirty, absolutely no service what so ever, just a security guard on the front door that speaks little English and looks like he wanted to be there as. Much as what we did which was not a lot..
the walls in the room were filthy, and again, in my colleagues room was a massive dirty hand print above the bed.
Although the bedding was clean, the mattress told a different story.. sadly I have run out of characters to give a full story but long story short, we checked out early… avoid avoid avoid.. I had to give 1 star but if 0 was an option then I would’ve pressed that.

Disturbed sleep thanks to busy road & poor windows

Shabby hotel in need of TLC.

Room was adequate for my basic needs, but hotel is fronting a busy dual carriageway which is very loud. The windows did nothing to mute the sound of the road. They need replacing with double/triple glazing as a priority.

Don’t think there was any food being served in the morning, so went elsewhere for breakfast.

Do not stay here!

I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. It is extremely tired and dirty and felt quite unsafe. The room was unclean with silverfish insects running around the bath and when i tried to wash them away the shower collapsed. There also wasnt a proper lock on the door, just a chain. There was a very unsafe feeling across the hotel. I did not stay and had to book last minute alternative accommodation.

The hotel was probably once very nice, sadly it is now quite run down. They currently house a large number of migrants, there is security at the door and whilst we had no problems the overall atmosphere didn’t feel like a pleasant place.

Receptionist was fine, nice. The room was rancid! Pubic hairs all over the bed like someone had sprinkled them on there and in the sheets, mould stains and damp marks everywhere. Dead bugs in bath, stains all over the carpet and lampshades. Worse than military accommodation and that’s saying something. The outside looked like a crack den. Not sure how this is even open.

A basic stay hotel reflected in the price. No restaurant due to asylum seekers being resident. Harvester pub near but more expensive then London !!!Beds were comfortable though basic. This place is fundamentally an asylum seekers holding cells not under any stretch of the imagination classed as a hotel. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The staff were very helpful , but the property is somewhat limited in its facilities for disabled such as myself . Toilets near reception but have been useful , rather than having to use stairs and more signage for disabled . I was not aware of the ramp and entrance for disabled until it was pointed out to me .

I have to say the bed was clean... the bath, shower and toilet also were, but walls, doors and everything else where appalling. We were advised by the staff NOT to eat there when we were considering booking breakfast. The building itself was in disrepair, only one lift was working and it was filthy. The grounds around the building were like a bomb site with skips, piles of rubbish no proper parking facilities. I was totally taken aback when we arrived. No wonder there is a non refundable clause - but I will be expecting a full refund. It was only an overnight stay for us and I did not leave the room. 😳

I was booking a room in the morning, using expedia. In the app was asking around what time I would arive , put between 6-7 am , got there and heard that they do not check in only from 2pm . I have explained at the reception that I was very tired and had to sleep somewhere and they still do not let me in . I tried to get my money back but if i was cancelling the booking I would not be refunded . In the end i end up sleeping in a park , and still not got my money back. Very bad feedback from the personell, honestly disgusted.

I should have read more reviews before booking here.

When I arrived the outside of the building was very run down and dirty. The car park was run down and smelled of weed when I exited my car. There were also groups of men around the car park, which felt intimating and I was concerned about the safety of my car and possessions.

When I arrived I noticed two security guards, which was a worrying start and felt intimating. Check-in was less than friendly and limited information given (was not even given the option to book breakfast should I want it).

I was asked to show my ID which also made me feel intimidated.

The hotel itself was dated and run down, as were the room. Wallpaper bubbled and peeling, scuffed walls and mould marks in the ceiling of the bathroom. Doors in corridor were very loud and rooms were not very soundproof.

On the plus side the bed was comfortable (although hard if you don’t like that type of bed) and the shower warm. I also felt safe once locked and chain across in my room.

I would not stay here again, even though it was inexpensive you still expect a certain level. I believe having read reviews that refugee people live at this hotel, which would explain the security. I have no issue with this, but wish it had been advertised clearly so I would have know what to expect.

Arrived and thought the building took Ed derelict (don’t be fooled by picture). Even though it has a restaurant, staff suggested I didn’t eat there. The radiator was off yet really noisy so ended up changing rooms after midnight so I could get Somme sleep. Alternative room was fine, but again nosy - this time from from traffic.

Got the feeling the majority of guests were migrant workers, so not the type of place I’d take a family to. In fact, just would t go back as found the whole experience unnerving (huge hotel and only 2 or 3 cars in car park, looked abandoned, poor signage and no lighting at entrance…)

On a p,us, the reception staff were friendly and very helpful when I requested a different room

The stay was that terrible I booked 2 nights I moved hotel on the 2nd night. This hotel was used as I can only describe as an immigration holding centre for asylum seekers. I just felt unsafe and intimidated there. I was told by staff not to eat there and no local shops around unless travelling by car or taxi. Had to order a takeaway online. Room was very dated. Bath had rust around the plug hole

As stated by others this hotel is more like a refugee hostel than a hotel. That is not necesarily a problem but the condition of the hotels public areas reflected this as they are tatty and run-down.
There is no restaurant / bar and breakfast has to be ordered the day before which I wasnt told about. Used the local Harvester which was good.
Room was a good size and clean, but considering the condition and facilities of the hotel I consider it overpriced at £85 for a double room

Hotel was extremely dated and unclean. Room appeared to be clean until I noticed a bogey, and bizarrely, a foot print on the wall.

Restaurant had a lack of options. All that was on offer was burgers and a pasta dish. If you do stay here then I'd recommend going to the nearby Harvester instead.

All in all I'd say this is the worst hotel out of the 27 hotels that I've stayed in this year.

Very helpful when booking, accommodating my husbands medical needs, but on arrival nobody opened the door of the disability ramp. Another guest opened it for us.
A few times 1 lift was unusable as full of mattresses. Being on the 5th floor & unable to use the stairs meant a long wait.
The room was very hot with the window only opening 4 inches.
One electric socket was in need of replacement but in our 2 night stay i didn't see a member of staff to report it to.
The bathroom was very small but this was to my husband's advantage as he had support when using it.
The meal times were very short and the bar had beer on tap and spirits but no mixers or soft drinks.
The 2 disability parking was taken up by non disabled or work vans due to lack of easy parking. There was another area for parking, but this had a weight restriction of 2 ton and a ramp that caused the back end of vehicles to scrape the ground.

Avoid like the plague!!

This hotel has been left to fester by its owners, it has not had any modernisation for at least 20 years. Everything is worn out and tired looking, needs decorating, carpets changing, new beds and mattresses. Evening meal consisted of one choice, and served in a takeaway tray. It was more like a hostel for refugees. The only positive thing about this hotel, is that it has made me read hotel reviews before I book a hotel, so I don't make the same mistake again

Clean comfortable room, reception staff quick and efficient, car park in need of overhaul. Bar closed so a 15 minute walk along the village (Allesley) street for alternative food and drink options.
Aesthetics are not easy on the eye and hotel has little kerb appeal. Cheap and functional with no frills.

This hotel is neglected and is being used as a refugee centre for young Asian and Eastern European men. As a single female I felt extremely intimidated as the men were hanging around in the corridor outside their rooms. While I have every sympathy, these men are traumatised and come from countries that generally have low respect for women. I didnt see any refugee women or children.
When I spoke about it to the receptionist he said that I should not have been put on the 7th floor and that they had another floor reserved for guests.

Can’t say that the room was anything other than disgusting. There was stains all over the floor, holes in the walls, flies in the lights, the bathroom vent was absolutely caked in dust and the window had more mould than a drain pipe! Didn’t even have a shower and slept with my clothes on

Looks horrendous from outside, looks scary. Receptionist was okay, very polite but took ages to check in and was not very enthusiastic. Hotel is extremely outdated and smells so bad. The lift is dirty the hallways look dirty, not sure whether they actually are or whether its just because they’re old. Walls are so thin you can hear everything. Asked for a late checkout, a maid tried to get into our room at 9:15 normal checkout wasn’t even till 10 so we were woken up and frightened that someone was coming into our room. Could hear every little noise inside and outside the hotel. Bathroom was gross didn’t even use it. Bed was okay but not that comfy. Rooms were quite clean but again outdated so felt very dirty. Will not return felt dirty when left and uncomfortable whilst there

Used this hotel for a training course we needed to attend near by we checked In and it looked a bit run down from the outside and car parks shut off and people gathered in small groups but the rooms where ok new carpet fresh paint etc but when we returned from course in the evening we were greeted by a que of I’d imagine 100 ppl with polystyrene trays all young men of different nationalities waiting to be fed despite all of us having to pay full rate and go out for food this is being used as a refugee camp which is fine if the business choose to do so but shouldn’t then rent the few remaining rooms to the full paying public

Absolutely disgusting hotel. Full of refugees!!! Carpets ripped and worn. Beds broken. Hotel stinks. Bathroom dirty and the toilet wasnt flushing. List goes on. Ended up loosing money for the night and stayed across the road.

The hotel corridoor’s were smelling very bad, They were rubbish bags outside the Doors. My room was really cold i woke up with a cough, there was no shower gell and only one roll of tissue. My stay was very u pleasant i didnt aleep till late and woke up very late for my business meeting.

This hotel is disgusting. The bins were left overflowing there was food on the floor by the lifts. The carpet was missing in places it is in serious need for redecorating and updating. The worst part is the mould in the bedroom windows.

Half way house for refugees

Read other reviews before booking. This does not feel like a hotel. It feels more like a high rise block of flats housing refugees.
This place needs a good clean. Cigarette ends everywhere outside. Threadbare carpets.
The room was clean enough although carpet needs replacing desparately.
Clean bed and bathroom. Mattress was a bit firm. Slept ok enough.
Reception staff i encountered were all polite.

Noisy Refugee Camp

Got to the hotel and it looked like a refugee camp. Non of the residents were social distancing and were enjoying the link up around the TV area. The receptionist man was rude and did not speak to us through the protective shielding. No one was at the reception so we had to wait for around 5-10 minutes for someone to arrive. I thought this was rude due to the fact they should know when we was arriving. The room was okay. I did a get a nice sleep in the bed. However we couldn’t shower because there was 3 silver fish in the bath. The door to the bathroom had nails sticking out of the frame on the foot area so it was dangerous. The cups left in the bathroom were not washed properly. And on the morning of departure I noticed the trolley the cleaners out there equipment on is filthy dirty. Using food storage boxes for milk and sugars that was brown. However overall was okay. Would stay again but not in a hurry. Due to the fact I felt vulnerable and weary of leaving items in the room.

Threadbare carpets, clothes moths in the room, hole in bathroom door, constant smell of stale cigarette smoke. The room was cheap, the bed was comfortable and location convenient. Won’t stay here again.

There was a large amount of immigrants at reception, they were eating takeaways not socially distancing, it looked like the inside of a mosque, the smell was revolting, further more they have been booked in there for a year, I didn’t even stay, I left disgusted, I would suggest to anyone looking to book in Coventry to stay clear of this hotel at all costs!!!!

Bad Atmosphere

From the outside the hotel looks run down and dated, pulling onto the car park it resembles an immigration centre with people hanging out of windows smoking and talking in their language across the car park. Inside I was looked at like I was walking into an away teams pub, and then was asked if I was a key worker when obviously the fact that there were so many people staying not all if any others were key workers made me feel a little uneasy. All in all just an intimidating feel to the place.
