Lovely place with great atmosphere. The locals also prefer this to the many pubs available. Had multiple stays and always had good service, clean rooms and a great breakfast to start the day.

Good hotel in the heart of Kenilworth. No parking available although when booking it said free parking. Ended up payin £12 parking at the nearest car park. Room was neat and tidy although lighting was fim and there was a small mark on the bedding. However, loved the decor in the bar where we had breakfast and breakfast was great. Friendly and helpful staff

Carpet on stairs very worn & thread bare. Vey old shower cubicle which had no handle on the door, which made it hard to open or close. Tiled floor in bathroom which if wet would be very slippery, someone could have a serious accident in there, no alarm bell to don’t know how it passed health & safety guide lines. The single bed right next to door is not good. Room got very hot at night which then

I don't normally bother writing hotel reviews, but enjoyed my stay so determined to leave positive feedback. This is essentially a small and very nice bar (with a very nice atmosphere and well kept beers) with rooms attached. My room was at the back away from the street and quiet, well equipment and comfortable. Bathroom a little small but towels and soaps all good. Breakfast was great, hot and cold options to suit different tastes. I parked on-street outside (as free 2 hrs and i arrived early evening & left next morning) but there is a private car park at the back of the hotel if needed. I'd stay there again.

A little gem

Our first visit and we would definitely stay again. Convenient for the University of Warwick, with a frequent bus service right on to the campus.
Room, bed and free breakfast were lovely. There is some on-site parking and a large reasonably priced car park close by.
The bar is open to the public and closes at 10.30, but hotel guests can take drinks to their rooms until 11.00.

I enjoyed the cozy ambience and community-feel of the Old Bakery Hotel. The room was quaint, but had everything a solo traveller would need - it was quite hot but the staff provides fans that solve the problem. The parking is a bit tight, so just be conscious of this if you have a bigger vehicle. The location is walking distance from the castle, a few local dining establishments, and a beautifully serene park which I spent most of my time. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very accommodating throughout the stay. If you are looking for a cozy, quiet getaway, I would highly recommend staying at the Old Bakery Inn.

Nice hotel in old part of town.

Very small car park at back of hotel. only about 5 cars. I found it difficult to get out of when it was full but managed to park on road. No restaurant but good breakfast. Small room for price paid but very friendly and helpful staff. Many thanks.

A lovely little hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, very clean and the breakfast was excellent. The bar as you enter has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and an impressive array of beers available, all in excellent condition, only small gripe was the sliding shower door was very awkward to open and close, apart from that, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

nice property very much let down by the room dividing walls being constructed on the cheap, so having no sound insulation properties. Consequently to try to hear the TV over conversation from the adjoining room attempted to increase the volume of the TV only to find that it is deliberately limited to a low, inadequate volume (confirmed by staff). This to prevent the occupiers of the adjoining room from suffering noise from our room. Fundamentally flawed hotel. Another niggle is the inadequate parking facilities - I had to park the car some distance away on the roadside in a residential area.

A nice hotel in a lovely location

The staff at The Old Bakery Hotel were very welcoming and helpful, the room was well fitted but could do with a freshen up as the lighting was dim and the furniture dated. The TV was limited in volume which was good for other guests but meant we could hardly hear it and watched on our iPad instead.
It should be noted that you have to request that your room is cleaned and reset by hanging the ‘Please make up my room’ sign on your door handle. We didn’t but the staff sorted it at 22:30! Well done.
I would happily stay here again and feel that the owners and staff would do almost anything to make your stay a memorable one for the right reasons.

Really nice hotel. I was at an exhibition at the NEC and it was a 20 minute drive so very handy.
Staff were super helpful and efficient.
The bar was great with a good selection of beers and breakfast was amazing! I will return for sure!

Central location with free parking was a boon 👍 Staff were helpful, relaxed and friendly. Good breakfast. Only negative was that our TV was rather elderly, and we couldn't find how to adjust the picture's colour, but a very minor issue. Would definitely stay here again.

EVERTHING ABOUT THE ROOM AND BAR VENUE WAS EXCELLENT. THE BAR AREA IS A VERY NICE PLACE TO SIT, MUCH BETTER THAN THE TWO PUBS NEARBY. BAR DOES NOT SERVE FOOD UNFORTUNATELY. THe breakfast included was substantial, but the cooked part looked great but didnt taste of anything. Not sure how they did that. Free parking included but limited spaces. Would highly recommend this hotel , in a lovely street too. And quiet nights sleep.

Style Over Substance

My wife and I stayed on a Friday night in August for our wedding anniversary. We had a standard double room (room 3) with breakfast included for £84.
Probably best to categorise positives and negatives so here goes!

POSITIVES:

1. Good location.
2. Free and easy on site parking.
3. Pleasant staff and good attentive service.
4. Lovely bar with great selection of drinks and nice seating areas outside, front and back.
5. Nice walk in shower and comfortable bed.
6. Good quality complimentary toiletries in room and 2 bottles of water, biscuits, tea and coffee etc.

NEGATIVES:

1. The room was tiny and cumbersome with nowhere to put your stuff. More like a single room! It was also very hot! No aircon just a fan we had to ask for and waited about an hour for it to arrive! They advertise as a Boutique hotel but this is the smallest room we’ve ever stayed in and it wasn’t a room you could chill out in.
2. The bar is expensive but does have a nice selection of ales, lagers, spirits and wines.
3. Poor quality breakfast! They advertise a cooked to order breakfast. This certainly was not! It was mostly cold and generally luke warm at best. My wife left most of hers. Sausages tasted rather odd, bacon was undercooked as were our poached eggs! All 4 of them were a bit gooey and just a splodge on the plate!
4. Breakfast is between 7-9am even at weekends to accommodate their brunch menu from 10am. I think this is unfair on guests who might want a lie in at the weekend!

Fantastic B&B for a short stay in Kenilworth!!

What a fantastic B&B for a short stay in Kenilworth!

Located in the old part of town, it's a short walk to get to all the main attractions that Kenilworth has to offer - a visit to Kenilworth Castle is a must!

There is a small car park to the rear of the property, however there are spaces on the high street if it's full (a free parking permit is available from the B&B if required).

The property is very well presented and has a wonderful bar/cafe where you have breakfast (Freshly prepared not a buffet) and can have afternoon/evening drinks - we sampled a couple of their Whiskies :-)

We had a double room that was immaculate, with fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. There was coffee and tea making facilities plus biscuits! Also there was ample storage for clothes and a powerful shower. Our only gripe with the room we had was a lack of hooks in the bathroom to hang our toiletry bags - but we are being really picky here!

The staff were very friendly and attentative and seemed to enjoy their jobs which is always a good sign!

Overall highly recommended!

We only stayed at The Old Bakery for 1 night, but I wish it had been for longer. Its a fabulous hotel.
You enter through a tiny pub, so quaint and its kept all the old features of the building. We were in room 5, it has an ENORMOUS bed! The size of 2 doubles! Lovely clean soft white sheets, a nice firm mattress which was soooooo comfortable.
The room is SPOTLESSLY Clean, as is the bathroom.
Complimentary small bottles of shampoo, shower gel, a vanity box with 3 cotton balls, some Qtips, and a tiny nal file, even a toothbrush.
In the room there are sachets of coffee bags, tea bags and hot chocolate with plenty of milk and 2 lots of biscuits. Also 2 bottles of cold still water in glass bottles are left on your bedside cabinets.
I thought these little touches were really nice.
It was extremely quiet, you couldn't hear the pub at all so don't worry about being kept up all night by revellers, tbh kennilworth is not that sort of place anyway.
Breakfast was very good. A choice of cerials as usual but pots of coffee & tea so you can refill and lovely bowels of fresh fruit, blueberry and pears, then another choice I can't remember, sorry. But good quality. These go with sweet glass pots of yogurt. We had delicious local sausage with scrambled egg, etc.
The decor and atmosphere of the whole establishment is very pleasant as are the lovely couple who served us in the morning, he is the chef and his wife.
All in all we will definitely be back and highly recommended The Old Bakery.

Good for overnight in Kenilworth

Very handy for an overnight stay in Kenilworth. Parking round the back was great (and free). Room was perfectly clean and a decent size. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was nice in the morning.The old bakery itself is a nice little pub so you can stay in for a drink and some food in the evening if you wanted to as well.
