The Castle Limes is more a rooming house rather than a hotel. The building appears to have been a pub at some point that is undergoing transition into a hotel but is unfinished.
There are no dining facilities or bar and reception is only manned nine to five with your room key fitting the outer doorlock for main building access. Car parking is a bonus but limited to seven vehicles. The site information says parking available over the road from five pm to ten pm but fails to state this area is a mini shopping precinct with vehicles coming and going. l cannot comment on other rooms but the room we occupied for three days left much to be desired. The bed was soft from wear though clean and changed daily yet there were no drawers in the wardrobe, dressing table or bedside units
The tv remote didnt work and though reported not rectified and the portable air/con unit rattled loudly when on and the weather being blisteringly hot turned out to be a nuisence at night. Sticky stains on the carpet, stains on the 'clean' bedding and towels (photos taken), window latches were worn and didn't work properly, furniture was old and in poor condition, the mattress was old, sagging and uncomfortable, noisy room by the main road, insufficient parking so had to park on the main road overnight. Massively overpriced (nearly £200 for two nights) for an uncomfortable, noisy, stained, dated, poorly kept room and virtually no services (breakfast not included). Definitely won't be visitng again.

Arrived and no one was on the desk and you couldn't enter the property, they all leave at 5pm so myself and another guest tried to reach them on the number pinned on the glass of the door (luckily my phone was charged). The key safes they want you to unlocked were not all numbered so we had to work out which one was ours, then they wouldn't unlock (this wasn't just me, another guest was with me attempting to unlock hers). Finally got it open, then got into my room. The floor was thick (hard to describe but like a carpet with residue locked in) and the bath was dirty (not sure if stained or just not cleaned correctly). The room was baking hot with a tall fan and windows that would not open. No breakfast was available at the property.

There were no staff on site as they leave at 5pm and the email to advise how to find a key safe was not immediately available. The key safe was not numbered and myself and another guest were trying to work it out while on the phone to someone from the hotel. When i got in, the windows do not open and it was a very hot evening so a fan was pushing hot air around the room as no air con. The bath had lots of marks on it and i'm unsure if they were stains or just generally unclean. The marks were brown so very off putting. The carpet felt thick with something and although it wasn't sticky, it didn't feel very clean. Overall, the location is good and it worked for what i needed it for. The bed was OK and the bedding looked clean but it wasn't worth the nightly rate as it was more expensive than holiday inn and other chains.

Nice hotel just on the edge of the town centre .short stroll from the train station. Plenty of cafes , bars restaurants near by .hotel does not do b&b , lovely staff and rooms are adequate. Car park is small done on a 1st come basis, Our 2nd stay there . Word of warning . Warwick hospital is further up the road and ambulance Sirens can be heard through the night !

There weren’t enough parking spaces if hotel was fully booked, the town is a short walk, as is the Castle, Hotel room was ok, shower and facilities in the room were fine, would have rated higher, had we not had a fire alarm late in the evening, and there was no on site night porter, which is illegal, it took about 5 minutes for some to come and sort out the alarm, which turned out to be an accident, as someone opened their door to turn the light on, but hit the fire alarm. If they sorted out the Night Porter on site, to make you feel safe, I would return.

Slight difficulties checking in due to a staff personal emergency but manager Michael sorted everything via phone and was extremely helpful. Room was nice and clean, sheets and towels changed daily and was quiet at night despite room facing main road. Location is ecellent, just a short walk from town, pubs and station. Very enjoyable stay, would recommend.

Although tea was available in room on arrival, we returned late the following night to find our cups not washed/replaced and no replacement tea facilities. We don't expect bedding changes etc. for a 2 night visit but as a minimum we would expect replenishment of the drinks facilities. Very disappointed. Don't think we would use this one again.

Room very basic no breakfast ! Light switch up side down , no battery cover on tv remote, had to get out of bed to turn bedside lamp off. The room was covered in ANTS, the bathroom looked fairly new and mostly white so the ants were very noticeable. The white sheets on the bed had ants running across it. I did take photographs of them. I am in a wheelchair and I am just praying that they are not Bedbugs. We were scratching for most of our stay and will not be returning

The toilets do not have running hot water. Not able to have a proper shower in the hotel. The hotel front desk refused to come down to settle the problem even though I called them repeatedly since 6pm. The front desk is NOT present on site.

Our room was huge!!! We had a family room so our little boy had his own space in a separate little room. Our bed was huge and very comfortable. Location was great, everything in walking distance. It’s slightly dated inside but clean, comfortable and room was amazing. Small free car park. No bar/restaurant on site but discount vouchers for a local cafe for breakfast provided.

Our room was right beside the main road but double glazed windows ensured this was barely noticed despite heavy and constant traffic. We recommend you stay here, especially if you are coming via train as it is so handy to the station.

3) The towel rail in the bathroom is DANGEROUSLY HOT! I caught my forearm on it and it has left a burn!

Room was a good size and it's in a convenient location, but smoke detector in bathroom bleeped every half an hour waking us up. The window was damaged so the double glazing wouldn't shut, making it noisy as it's on a main road.

Check in was poor, then the shutters on reception were down in the evening and in the morning and we couldn't find any staff. I've emailed them twice since we stayed a month ago and they haven't had the courtesy to even reply. Very poor and shows a complete lack of customer care.

Very helpful receptionist who accommodated our need for twin beds by offering a 2nd bedroom FOC as there had been confusion at booking stage. They let us leave the car after checkout so we could go sightseeing.

Stayed for the Mika concert,so this was a good location to the castle .staff were friendly enough but the room was disappointing .Hole cut in net curtains for the window lock ,floors uneven ,tap on sink was loose .stained bath and only 2 small pods of milk. an overall musty/spicy smell which was off putting .

The Castle Limes worked well for us, because we were traveling by train, and it is an easy walk from the station. Warwick is a hill town, and it was great that there was a terrific pub and good restaurants near the hotel, so we didn't have to walk up the hill for drinks and dinner. The room was spacious, clean, and the staff was friendly. Do not, however, take the breakfast option--too much money for not much at all. 0therwise, we were very pleased with our stay.

It is really only a B & B Hotel, as no lounge, Bar or meal facilities & no evidence of the Family that are supposed to run it!, a bit uncomfortable that there appears not to be any staff resident in the building at night.

I would like to give this hotel 4.5 Stars. It is an inexpensive hotel in a superb location. Perfect for visitors travelling by rail and walking the town. At the reception is a photo of it c. 1900. From that picture and the layout I would say it is a coaching hotel from the early nineteenth century. It is laid out as a reverse L with a wide arch on the long side through which coaches and horses would pass to what might have been the stables. Just at the arch is the entry to Reception. The rooms are generous but basic and probably always were. Breakfast is good. The couple who run it now are nice, though check-in time is a bit late and it is hard to drop off bags if you arrive ahead of the check-in time.

Unexpected extra £15 for kid stay, smelly.
We (my hubby, kid and me) booked executive double room which should be able to sleep 3. Upon arrival, the reception lady told us we have to pay extra £15 as the room could only occupy 2 people whereas £15 must be paid for the kid. We had no choice but to pay as it’s too late to find another accommodation.
The room was smelly, like public toilets. We had to buy air refresher in order to stay there.
The window couldn’t be closed properly and the traffic outside was really noisy.
After all, the room is spacious and water pressure for the shower is great.
However, we would never visit or recommend it to any of our friends.

Comfortable and well-situated
We had a comfortable two-night stay while visiting the Warwick Folk Festival. We arrived at about 6:00 p.m. to find the door locked and had to call a number to get someone to let us in and allocate a room. The reception area was closed at that time. Our room was comfortable, and the bathroom had clearly ad a recent makeover, and was well-appointed, clean and sparkling! We ordered breakfast, and were a little surprised that the full English only came with toast and coffee - the fruit juice and cereals were only for the Continental breakfast. However, the breakfast was fine, and the coffee was good. There is very little parking available at the hotel, but you can park across the road outside the One-Stop and various takeaways for 2 hours during the day from 9 - 5, which suited us, as we were using our car for the rest of the day.

Over all it is a wonderful place to stay in the center of Warwick. However, the front door was locked at the time when the reception was supposed to be open, and a phone number was posted. Since I didn't have a phone that works in the UK, I had to ask someone to call the number for me in order to check in.

Great central location close to pubs and restaurants . I got parked ok in the small on-site car park . Room was huge with a super king bed fridge and fan.

Great value. Comfortable bed, spacious room, pleasant toiletries, clean and crisp. Hotel on a main road but hotel itself quiet and I wasn't disturbed by outside noise during the night. Car park was full but plenty of free parking until middle of the next morning just over the road. I left too early to take advantage of the included continental breakfast. I arrived quite late in the evening and left early the next morning so didn't actually see a member of staff but the check in process was easy and efficient, thank you.

Just what we wanted, clean and peaceful, rooms are quiet as long as the windows are shut and there is an air conditioning tower to regulate the temperature, bed comfy. The continental breakfast was fine and we both enjoyed it. As we arrived on Saturday evening we could park in the spaces opposite the hotel, on Sunday night we had arranged to park overnight (£2) in a close by council car park but on returning back to the hotel some of their 7 spaces were free so parked there. Nice central location, close to Rail and POI. Minor complaint of not replacing shampoos etc as they were used but no big deal. In general a pleasant and stress free stay which is what we want.

We had a really lovely stay at the castle limes hotel. The bed was so comfortable and we slept really well. The only issue we had was you couldn’t order breakfast in the morning it had to be done the night before which was a shame as we didn’t know we would want it in the morning. But overall we had a really wonderful stay here and the location was absolutely fantastic to every where we wanted to go!

We read the high marks of this hotel which we found misguided. The hotel is clean, but we were offered a room on the first floor which opened up to the enclosed car park right across from the large blue garage bins. It was hot, even though there was a fan, and the front desk person said it was safe to open the window. We did until an unknown pair of men leaned in to ask us about how to enter the building? We immediately closed the window and moved the fan much closer. To be fair, before the incident happened, the desk clerk did show us a room upstairs but it was on a noisy street and the window didn’t open up much at all. The area around the hotel did not make us feel comfortable at all. For the price we paid we felt very misguided.
