TV remote control did not work. Brought it to reception, but no spare batteries. Asked if possible to swap batteries with unoccupied room... went out.... 5 hrs later, no luck... Nice cookie at check-in. Beautiful room with view over the football pitch. Very good breakfast.

We stayed due to a concert at the arena, so were looking for convenience. The room we stayed in was £310, which £220 more than the usual rate because of the event. In the Expedia description it refers to a brasserie, bar and separate sports bar. On arrival, no brasserie, no separate bar, and just the sports bar to eat in with a limited menu and very few seats relative to the number of people in the hotel and attending the event. Basically, the description of this 4 star hotel is misleading. Not what you might expect from a Hilton branded hotel, and not much better than a more budget based offer. The hotel is tired, and our room TV didn’t work and the bath was damaged. Not the end of the world, but if you’re expecting 4 start and paying £300+ a night I’d want much better.

It’s fine, but nothing special. The hotel is missing a few little touches. No bin liners in the bins, the phone wasn’t hooked up so couldn’t even order room service or call down to reception, the loudest air-conditioning unit known to man, incredibly thin sheets for the time of year, scuffed and dirty walls, mould in the shower and no body wash in the bathroom. The staff were lovely and the room was at least clean.

Check in was a great experience. Room was beautifully clean. It was the usual experience we have come to expect. However, when we checked out, admittedly early, the stairs leading from 157 to 129 were in darkness. I raised this major health and safety issue with the very nice receptionist who said that security turn them off. I find this very disturbing. I would appreciate a response as to how this is going to be rectified. Thank you.

My window was completely covered so there was barely any daylight coming through. This was awful and claustrophobic. Receptionist told me breakfast next day was at 6am, i showed up before 7 to find out it only starts at 8 when i already had to be at work. Nothing at all was offered to me. Nowhere to even get proper coffee in this hotel. Lift was broken my whole stay. Room cards kept getting inactive which added extra trips up and down the stairs. Barely any signage around the place. Nothing around and restaurant was closed.

Our stay at the hotel was really nice friendly staff when we checked in and out, room nice and clean, my only issue was the carpark, we clicked on the hotel link for directions which took us to the carpark infront of the hotel (carpark D), when we checked in, we were told we should be in carpark A, but we had already used up our free 30mins in that carpark so would work out to be the same price if we moved our car, so stayed where we were, the QR code system didnt work for the parking in this carpark so we had to find another way to pay, which annoyed us as we were told to pay in the casino and she said no we dont, we finally found a pay machine so we managed to sort it,

Expecting Hilton's reliable standard, our stay at the Coventry Arena was a frustrating mix of positives and negatives, making it a hotel I'd only recommend for a specific purpose.

The key advantage is its location inside the arena, unbeatable for a match or concert. The breakfast buffet was also a pleasant surprise, offering a wide, fresh selection and excellent value at £20 for two. It was the highlight of our stay.

The disappointments began with our room, a long walk from reception. It felt superficially refurbished and the bathroom was poorly designed: the fixed shower is mounted too low for taller guests and the screen guarantees a flooded floor. The towels were worn, adding to the feeling of neglect. Parking is also £10 per night and a considerable walk from the entrance.

The most glaring issue was the bar closing at 9.30pm on a Friday, despite being advertised as open until 11pm. For an isolated hotel, this is an unacceptable failure that leaves guests stranded. The alternative suggested was the casino, which wasn't the relaxing environment we were looking for.

Ultimately, if you just need a convenient bed for an arena event, this hotel might suffice. For a comfortable, full-service hotel experience, I would advise booking elsewhere.

Annoying alarm/beeping

2 night stay. Woken at 1.50am first night by an alarm/beeping noise coming from a vent in the wall just to the side of the bed. On googling the brand name on the vent it said it was a refrigerant gas leak detector. So as well as this being a concern, the beeping was intense and there was no way I could sleep through it. Phoned reception, told someone would come up. 15/20 mins later someone arrived and told me the alarm happens often in various rooms and unfortunately I’ve drawn the short straw, and that no one really knows why it happens but it’s nothing to be concerned about! Told I need to sleep with air con on full and if doesn’t stop they would move me rooms. It didn’t stop, so I was moved at 2.55am. Had to pack all my things and sit and wait for 15/20 mins for someone to bring me a new key for new room. Then, the following morning no hot water (not just me, everyone on our floor) so cold shower it was! At breakfast and at the event I was at the following date I spoke to a number of people who also had the same problem with an alarm sounding at an ungodly hour.
After complaining the following morning I was refunded that nights stay, which I think is only fair. But I wanted to outline this issue for anyone else thinking of booking in the future. As the staff cannot turn the alarm off and no one seems to know why it happens, it doesn’t seem like there will be a solution any time soon! Beware!

Disappointed stay at the Double Tree Hilton Covent

When we got to the hotel room the TV was not working, someone had unplugged the TV the pug was right behind the TV was hard to get back in. The next day there was no hot water as there was an issue so could not have a shower. Overall disappointed I would not stay at this hotel. Staff were reasonably pleasant.

Convenient stop over. Very helpful staff at the front desk. I had requested an infant cot but the message hadn’t been received by the hotel from Expedia. However the guy at front desk sourced a cot late in the evening for us, which was much appreciated. You have to pay £10 for parking.

Only stayed one night but had a very pleasant stay. Had a problem with the room we were originally given but the lady on reception sorted it out and moved us to an upgraded room. Both were actually very nice rooms aside from our issues in the first one we were given , which I believe we're related to ongoing refurbishments.
Had a reasonably priced breakfast (£10 each) which was very good quality, well presented and the lady managing the breakfast room could not have been more helpful to everyone there, she was a credit to the hotel. Recommended.

The sink was blocked and had lots of hair in it.
We reported this to reception, they said they'd get maintenence to look at it whilst we went out, nobody looked at it.
We had to use the bath instead of the sink, we couldn't remove the plug from the bath so the water just stayed in the bath.

I used the hotel to attend the Coventry City v Sunderland playoff match. I didn’t have any complaints at all. A pitch view room was unexpected. The stadium lights were on all night so the stadium crew could dismantle the tv kit and advertising monitors, but that didn’t really disturb my sleep too much. I had a spacious accessible room with a comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.

I received some of the best costumer service In a hotel ever. The staff was EXTREMELY attentive and helpful. There were some minor issues like the room's heater not working, they brought one right away and communicated well. In the convention I was in, in the Coventry Arena I was in the VIP room/ lounge where the staff outed itself.

No room service. You have to pay £4 fee on top of purchase price for them to bring up a bottle of water. Quite strange that. Lots of parking available however, there's no info on where to park so of course we parked in the wrong area and then were asked to move it. Breakfast was average and they don't allow you to pay for it at the canteen area - instead you have to go back down to reception. Why not have a card machine in the canteen area?
Overall, just seemed surprised at the low level of customer service and low level of impracticalities.
Room itself was nice and clean. Just needs to bring back better service.

When entering the hotel we were greeted by a lovely man at reception who was very helpful. Unfortunately it took nearly 10 minutes to get to our room 😫 it was such a challenge to do this as i suffer with poor health so was a struggle to do this everytime we needed to go out.
Evening meal was lovely and friendly staff but had to wait absolutely ages for food

The hotel was, as expected with a Double Tree, very good. Check in was efficient, room was very well appointed (not spotless but clean) but the one thing that let the whole place down was the Anecdote Bar - the only place to eat in the evening. Very mediocre, as customers we were made to feel like a nuisance, rather than a customer. Could definitely do better - but they have a captive market at that hotel.

Air conditioning in the room wasn’t working and I couldn’t open any windows. The floor boards were squeaky too. The wall from the reception to the room was quite the journey, certainly got my steps up with this stay. Breakfast was really good I have to say. Price was over inflated from my experience.

I paid a lot of money to stay here. It was so difficult to find our room - literally a lift, 2 flights of stairs and a 5 minute walk from reception. Then, the ac on the first floor was broken and even one of the receptionists said it was not acceptable with how hot it was up there. Also, the windows did not open so i barely slept for 2 days. Also, despite having a massive car park, there id no free parking for guests. I will not stay there again and will not use Expedia again as the after service has been poor and slow

Stayed 1 week in a family room. We experienced a rude lady staff member who was to help us reset the blurry TV screen. The bathroom always smelt of urine and most of all the air conditioner wasn't consistent. We felt as if we were a pain in the butt but not after paying over a £1200 to have a decent place to stay with my family. We had to change rooms since the air conditioner was not working. The lady staff member with a short hair cut who came to help us fix the broken TV asked if we moved from the initial room because of the air conditioner. She rudely stated that \"other customers will be fine without an air conditioner in the room,\" making us feel as if we were troublesome. The shower leaked & split water all over to the front of the WC floors.
Coming from the USA, I wouldn't recommend this run down Hilton to anyone. The advantage is the convenience to the stadium and shops around.
To pay for such run down crappy accommodations isn't only a rip off but not appropriate. The hotel walls in the entrances are dirty. Shout out to Jackie the house keeper.
Overall, I regret booking a place like that for a week. The first front desk man tall and heavy set wasn't the nicest from day one. The hotel rooms are not chronologically designed so it was a nightmare the night we checked in to find the room and had to go up and down the halls before finding it. Also, the lift was broken the entire time we were there.

The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Really friendly and a credit to the company. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. However, it was a hot August night with no windows to open and a very very poor air conditioning system. We were moved from our first room as it didn’t work at all and then the one that was ‘working’ was totally ineffective. It felt very claustrophobic and stuffy. We also had our dog with us. The room location was a long way from the front door and I probably wouldn’t recommend it for being dog friendly for that reason.
Restaurant staff and meal were excellent and the breakfast was lovely too.
