The hotel is convenient if you are attending events at Connexion. Not much to do around the hotel if you do not drive.

The room was good for the price and generally comfortable, which I appreciated. However, my experience with one of the staff members left a lot to be desired. They came across as disinterested and quite rude.
I was also overcharged for coffees, despite the correct prices being clearly displayed on the blackboard behind the counter. When I pointed out the mistake, I was given another coffee to make up for it, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the error. In fact, the staff member mentioned they'd been charging everyone that way for a while, which was concerning.
The next morning, I noticed the coffee prices had been wiped off the board. A different staff member served me that time and was able to find the correct price on the till with no issue—suggesting the previous overcharging may have been due to laziness or carelessness.
Overall, the stay was fine, but the customer service and handling of pricing mistakes definitely need improvement.

Not entirely sure what to say about this as it was clean, but felt a bit deserted most of the time and there were one staff on duty some of the time, the chef was on split shifts so unable to have any snacks when we arrived, we were asked at one point how we had booked there for three night's as there wasn't anything in the area! We used it as a base for visiting Warwick castle, the safari park etc...we did feel as if they did what they had to do during our stay? Ideal for a base however wouldn't return there .

We only stayed one night here. Staff were lovely, room was immaculate and bed was comfy. The only thing that bothered me that the breakfast buffet. There wasn’t much option and when food ran out you had to wait 10 minutes for more to come out.

It was perfect for what we needed , just an overnight stop for a cheer competition we were going to . Maybe the tv could do with sorting as it had 2 lines down it , but other than that nice comfortable stay .

We arrived at the hotel with a dog walking around in the reception area we walked into our family room greeted with a strong smell of damp stains all over the carpets mould in the bathroom worst room we have ever stayed in receptionist was rude and when we woke this morning we looked on the menu which stated restaurant was open until 10am on a Sunday we all went down for breakfast to be greeted by the receptionist asking what we was doing!! I stated we wanted breakfast she replied restaurant not open today!!!

The hotel is worn and carpet’s threadbare in places. Feels sad. The room had a strange unclean smell and the heater even on full was not enough to warm the room up at all. The bathroom floor was so cold.

Room was freezing cold - as the heater was turned off and barely heated the room with it on full all night. Even the electric towel rail had been disconnected in the bathroom leaving that room also freezing cold. The outside corridor was warmer - should have slept there ! Everything was clean though and food in the evening was good. Although the breakfast was just average. Nothing special really about the hotel, it’s located right next to a dual carriage way which is difficult to get out onto when leaving in the morning.

Cons: No staff available to help move rooms when toilet blocked - had to go down to reception on crutches in my Pj's to get a new room key and then struggled moving our belongings at 10pm when very tired, Hotel is very dated Decor-wise, reminded us of The Shining hotel, bathroom just looks very worn and used, but clean enough, no lift.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the people in the rooms next to me were very loud through out the evening and morning. there were not many options for food and very limited seating spaces.

Hotel itself is a bit outdated ( I quite liked that) very clean and staff polite happy and helpful food nice and reasonably priced room was a good size for 2 adults and an 8 year old the only negative for me was my bed (king size) mattress was to soft and tended to fold in the middle, I’m sure staff would have sorted if I asked. On the whole we had a pleasant 2 night stay and I would definitely stay again 8.5 out of 10. I would definitely recommend if looking for a cheap place to stay.

Family room was really big with 2 large double beds. Fresh clean smell on entry to the room. Useful furniture, though old style, plenty chairs for all 3 to sit, and a coffee table plus desk. Lighting a bit dated but good enough for purpose.

Great breakfast options for all, including us vegetarians. Friendly staff serving and on desk. We had a problem with our toilet flush in the morning, resolved quickly luckily as another room was available for us to use.
Overall, good for a one night stay.

When I booked the Citrus hotel, hotels.com were advertising that breakfast could be bought when we were at the hotel. 3 days before our trip, the hotel emailed to say there would be no kitchen facilities all bank holiday weekends. I emailed back to confirm if this meant breakfast as well given hotels.com had advertised otherwise. I received no response. I called the hotel prior to the trip to have it confirmed that it also meant there was no breakfast option. This was really disappointing and made each of our mornings difficult as where we were going also had no breakfast options. The lack of communication between hotels.com and the hotel needs to be better. The communication between the hotel and guests needs to be better.

The room smelled Mouldy, and smelled of cigarettes. Concerning as it was a non-smoking room. The bath tub looked unclean and not much ventilation. Hotel staff were kind but I wouldnt stay there again.

When you balance value for money versus the hotel itself, this hotel is decent. It is way overdue for a refurb, however the beds are comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are big and the shower is more than powerful enough. This is excellent value for money, the staff are so friendly and the room was everything we needed.
We booked our stay to include breakfast and dinner. Our biggest mistake was ordering extras for the table before seeing the portions (which were extra generous). Dinner was 2 courses (starter and main or main and dessert), steak was a slight extra charge and drinks were bought on top. The kids menu had the usual options and our two ordered pizza and a burger and we had steak and a burger. All the food was pleasant, not gordon ramsay but what you would expect from a good hearty restaurant (reminded me or harvester).
