Room was tired and old. Lights didn’t work. Holes in wall and ceiling where alarm has been moved 3 times and left holes.
Holes in carpet.
Tables in bar were sticky.
Will not stay there again.

Used as a base whilst exhibiting at a local show all weekend.

Bar & restaurant were excellent, not charging usual hotel bar & food rates either & they know how to look after their cellar when it came to what was available on the pump.

Food was amazing, so much so on the Saturday night we didn’t dine out like we usually do.

We will definitely be back!

So noisy it was not relaxing in the slightest. they had live music playing in the garden right outside the room windows. we couldn't even talk. the rooms were dated. two single plug sockets in a twin room. there really is no excuse not to upgrade them to doubles at least. no hair dryer, dated and dirty bathroom.

hi! I have stayed at the Strawberry Bank Hotel for 5 nights, and despite the sun being a deadly laser this weekend they were extremely comfortable and one of the most wonderful places I have stayed in awhile.
The staff are extremely friendly. Because I was going to an event which had me wearing a lot of costumes, the cleaner saw this and got chatting to me about them. I’m two occasions the stuff bent over backwards to make sure that I got breakfast despite me getting to the restaurant late. I wish I’d got everybody’s names that I’ve spoken to so that I could personally shout out each and every one of them, the only bane I caught was Megan who helped me get something to eat on my first morning at breakfast. There hasn’t been a single frown in this hotel and that makes a hell of a difference.
My room was comfortable. It’s a very short and easy drive from the NEC if you’re there for an event or something. Does tea and coffee which is replenished daily in the rooms, a TV, and excellent showering facilities which I’m sure you’ll agree makes a stay 10 times better. The room was clean daily as well, although you can request for it not be if that is your preference with a simple hanger on the door. Check-in was easy and I’m just about to check out.
The Surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. My room looked out onto some fields where there was some sheep which was quite a comforting noise, no traffic. No distractions.
A wonderful long weekend away.

Located in a nice Village with good amenities. Ideally situated for the NEC, 10 minutes away by car. Bar was quite vibrant with good range of drinks and food. Plenty of free parking. Did not opt for breakfast, so unable to comment. The rooms were functional and clean. However the decorations, furnishings and fittings look like they were done in around 1995, and left to fend for themselves. Overall, I thought for £60 a night it was good value for money.

We had 2 good nights sleep! For the price we paid it was fine- the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the room was clean and plenty of tea/coffee provided. The room could have done with a little updating, for example the cover of the headboard had been stapled on, and something had come off of the wall, leaving ripped wallpaper and a hole behind. I’m also not sure I agree with having to pay for parking (this charge is mentioned up front so it wasn’t a surprise) - they offer free parking if you book with them directly but then the room cost is significantly higher. We ate at the bar one evening- the restaurant does fill up so definitely worth booking in advance if you don’t want to sit in the bar area (especially worth noting on Saturday which is karaoke night, very loud!). Food was nice and good portion size. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

I chose the Strawberry Bank Hotel because I was arriving on a late flight and leaving the following morning. The hotel was one of few offering suitable accommodation at a reasonable price with a 24hr reception desk.
I was very pleased with the hotel; the staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room was attractive, clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Many thanks for a pleasant stay!

The room was bordering on shabby. The shower itself was good, but the taps were too small for the sink, making it difficult to properly wash your hands. The walls were extremely thin, so you could hear everything from neighbouring rooms, and the ceiling creaked constantly from movement in the room above.

Whenever anything was moved, there was a noticeable amount of dust underneath, and the room itself seemed to be missing some furniture. Plug sockets were placed in rather random locations, which made them awkward to use. I also found it slightly odd that a ground-floor room facing pedestrian traffic had no net curtains for privacy, and parts of the wallpaper were ripped.

Overall, it was acceptable for the price, but it did not leave me particularly inclined to return.

Room was ok but needs updating and very cold on arrival. The staff were excellent.
I was disappointed to be told on arrival it was paid parking and had not be informed of this when booking.
Breaking bad good value for money.Restaurant and bar was good but my fish and chips were under cooked. When I complained the staff offered a new plate which I refused. They suggested no charge and a complimentary sweet which I accepted. There response to a bad situation was faultless. Well done to the manager.

The staff were good, the bar and restaurant are fine. The rooms are what let's the strawberry bank down. There is tape on the carpet covering holes, there is a lot of mould in the bathroom. The building looks generally tired and in need of refurbishment.

The staff were fine but the room had multiple issues:
Toilet seat lid that fell off as it was not connected to the seat
Dressing table stool had loose leg
Brown stains on walls and doors
Bathroom sink plug did not work
No hairdryer in room
No hook or rail at all in bathroom to hang towels
Carpet in corridor very dirty with sundry tears fixed with gaffer tape
Treads on internal corridor steps damaged and potentially dangerous

I liked the shower.
Room was a bit dingy and lacking in atmosphere. TV was not working (Room 125). I went to reception who changed the batteries in the remote but the TV still did not work. The ground floor room looked out over the car park but there were no nets so I had to keep the blind down until I was dressed. Mattress was not the most comfortable although it was OK.

On arrival quite late at night, met a grumpy receptionist who made us feel quite unwelcome, got into the cold room no heating, turned on the heating. It was just making ticking noises! Found paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling. Bed was uncomfortable! Not a great stay, glad that we were only there for a night!

Two night, weekend, solo traveler stay.

I didn’t eat or drink so I can’t comment on that. The t.v was great, Netflix ready to go and other apps. The WI-FI was terrible, though there was no problem with the internet connection on telly, my phone however kept losing signal any my own service provider had even worse connection due to the location I’m sure. The bed and pillows were on the uncomfortable side too but that could just be a preference thing. One off the towels was stained but the room and bathroom were otherwise clean. It did say shower/tub combo but it was only a shower. It was very noisy, the couple above me and opposite were arguing till the early hours. A two minute walk away is a co-op, Indian restaurant, fish and chip shop and an off licence, so essentials are readily available. All in all for the price it was ok.

Great Place To Stay

I chose the hotel as it wasn't too far from the NEC and was much more reasonably priced. We arrived in the evening after working an event, and were checked in by a friendly staff member. The room we were given was opposite the beer garden of the connecting pub, which was loud, but the garden seemed to close around 10pm, so it was forgivable; though if I stayed again, I'd definitely request to be put on the opposite side because it was a bit fish bowl like as the benches were almost right outside our window, so we had to keep the curtains closed. The bed was comfortable, so sleeping wasn't an issue when we settled down. We didn't actually spend all that long there as we had to check out very early the next morning to go back to work. From what we did experience, it was very adequate for what we needed. Though, the room could do with a little bit of TLC, as there was damage to the back of the bathroom door and some mould in the shower.

The property is getting a little bit tired now, however, it's relatively cheap to stay and very convenient for the NEC. Food is good and staff very helpful with easy to follow procedures. Countryside and views are amazing, considering it's on a main road. Bathrooms could also do with a bit of an upgrade, but overall, good place to stay.

Good location, lovely staff. Room outdated decor…bedside lights had no lampshade, just bare bulbs which were so bright I could not use. One double plug other side of room to bed . Flaky paint above shower and peeling wallpaper in bedroom…just needs complete redecoration. Walls thin and noisy. Neighbours weren’t being plaid but could here everything…even them putting plugs into socket and turning on switch!!
