Everything from checking in to checking out ran smoothly room very clean and comfortable, only issue was no shampoo in the shower and I couldn’t find out how to open and ask for a refill.

Stay at this hotel regularly on business. Good location, easy parking and ticks all the boxes. Small but modern bedroom/bathroom has everything you need. I like the new electronic ordering system in the restaurant, very easy and quick. Some airport noise if you have a room facing that side, but expected due to it's location.

The manager was extremely rude. His behaviour was completely un professional and not respectful. When I was checking the lady couldn’t see if i was paid for breakfast later they found out I had been paid for breakfast. But the manager was telling me I was not paid. Extremely poor customer service.

The first room I was given 103 had stains on the bedsheets white stains, don’t even want to know where that is from. The second room I was given 226 the toilet flush was broken and the blue light in the bathroom kept flickering. Was very disappointed. Went to the nec .11 mins away. clean rooms friendly staff .had a good dinner with a few drinks.
Breakfast was good with alot to choose from and it was fresh 😋.

Not the best experience. The receptionist challenged me regarding the money I paid for my booking using my gold Expedia points, to which a colleague interfered on her own language that I couldn’t understand, and her attitude changed automatically. My premium room had a windows to a wall! Dinner requested and two hours later nothing. Other than being overcharged ( as a gesture of good will I was given two beers that were lefty in the fridge ), got ill overnight with suspected food poisonous. So, not the best experience I ever had therefore my poor review.

OK, so I booked the wrong location. This hotel was fine. The shuttle service for the airport was poor. We had mobility issues, were dropped off at airrail station, lift out of service, had to get 4 bags up an escalator. Then off to a long walk to check-in. Won't do this again

We loved the use of the indoor pool which was warm and clean. Sauna and hot tub were great as well. Breakfast had a good selection and the room was tidy with a comfy bed. Perfect place that’s affordable and close to the airport and birmingham.

Exceeded all expectations. We were welcome to a free glass of wine and snacks (not sure what the occasion was - but was very welcome). Check in was busy and we were greeted with an apology. Family suite was spacious and the in room facilities good (tea, coffee, Nespresso and chocolate for the child). Buffet breakfast (with alternative/additional items freshly made) had a good variety. Swimming pool and leisure facilities included in the price.

This was a shocking hotel when we arrived we went to one room and it had no electricity or Air conditioning we then got moved to another room and the same problem no A/c
Went to the third room that was ok apart from no telephone and in the bin in the bathroom there was a sanitary towel....
At 12 we ordered room service and waited till 1.30 AM and went down stairs to counselled it as was tired i have photos of how disgusting this hotel is .

There was nothing I didn't like about my stay.
The hotel has been extended since I held a conference there about 30 years ago. It has a very recent new wing.
It's very open and laid back, and the bedrooms are pretty much perfect. Scrupulously clean.

The kitchen was always busy serving a great range of quality food at decent prices and breakfast was awesome. On top of that the staff, from reception, to the bar star, the driver of the shuttle bus to the airport, the cleaners, the chefs and dining room staff, were superb. Nothing was too much to ask.
I'm not a very demanding customer. I suppose I have a standard - but 'm not pushy at all. I respect the staff. The staff here are highly motivated, highly efficient and actually seemed to enjoy their work. A massive credit to the hotel.

Frustrating stay - the hotel itself was very nice and the room was well equipped, modern and clean. However, it’s marketed as an ‘airport hotel’ - aka a place people book to stay when they have an early flight.
We booked as we needed to be up at 2am, however, there was a very, very loud party on until after midnight. I don’t complain and I dont exaggerate, it felt like being on the Ayia Napa strip. There wasn’t any communication from the hotel about the party, if there was we would have moved to an alternative location as we got about 1.5 hours of sleep before a long day of travel.

The rooms are good, shower is nice everything is clean. The only issue was the dinner service. It was busy so i understand delays. We waited 40 minutes for food and the quality compared to price didn’t add up.
I dont think they had enough staff running food so a lot of it was sat under the hot lamps

Would definitely stay here again.

Travelling from the north it was easy enough to get to. There is parking available directly outside the hotel (£12 night) but there is also parking in the NEC building around the corner. Lovely clean, welcoming entrance and welcome drinks at the reception desk. Which was nice as we usually only see this abroad. Our rooms were on the ground floor. The single standard was just that, a single standard. Clean, compact, all the usual amenities. The 4 bed suite was surprisingly gorgeous. A good layout with the partioning wall. The bathroom, towels and bedding looked very clean. The coffee machine was a nice touch which uplifted the whole experience (there is a kettle in the room for tea drinkers too) cleaning staff are super helpful and friendly. Some of the reception staff would benefit from better customer service training. The manager and duty manager on the day were brilliant. The staff in general were helpful and courteous. They would benefit from looking a little more kemp and smarter in their attire. The pool and gym were brilliant. Clean and available at most times of the day. I would book this hotel again.

The hotel was fabulous. We were immediately given an upgrade, as somone had been smoking in our allocated room.
Biggest disappintment was that free hotel transfer to airport didnt start early enough for us, and wouldnt be running to bring to hotel , those on late flights. We ordered a taxi via hotel to take us to airport for early flight and taxi was 1/ 2 late.

All staff friendly and quick service for evening meal . Order from table tablet was great! Breakfast had wide range of choice from cold and hot buffet. Would stay again. Only issue I have is the £12 parking but I was aware of that before I booked. Pool was great and no time restriction for kids. Nice little steam room too. Would happily stay again.

I have become a recent convert to the Holiday Inn. The Birmingham Airport NEC is no exception. The hotel has well-equipped rooms with decent showers and good air conditioning. The beds are very comfortable and there is no noise from the airport. There is plenty of parking, even arriving at 8pm. I was impressed with the lounge facilities that had a bar and TVs. The breakfast was good and the service exceptional (Nishu, Padma and colleagues).

We booked a room for 4 people, and were presented with a double sized sofa bed and king size bed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and had a think mattress which meant you could feel the centre metal bar. Also, the sofa bed was uneven.

The on table ordering of food and drinks, via a tablet, is very impersonal and very much lacking the human element. Disappointed.

We had to book here last minute with the fire at Heathrow to fly out of Birmingham. They were very accommodating and so helpful. They had a ton of people book last second and even though they were very busy, they took the time to help us in a time of need. Thank you! Would definitely recommend.

Staff member who checked us in, did his best but understaffed. Advised no shuttle bus when we needed it (the whole point of booking this hotel as we had a concert and airport connections), took ages to be served overpriced coffee and snacks, bed was hard as nails, rust on bath and then when decided to go for a swim couldn’t because of swimming lessons! Not great! We have spent a fortune on Ubers and cabs.

I stayed for 1 night as I was close to my place of work but my room was at the back of the hotel, so all night I could hear some sort of noise like a large boiler was rumbling outside. Also the air con wall controller kept turning off as it was on some sort of timer. The staff didn’t know how to resolve this issue

My stay unfortunately was overshadowed by a number of people next door to me in the early hours having a party just before 4AM knocking on my door shouting music blaring, went on for some time I phoned the desk and knocked on my door before getting the right room eventually. Next morning was looked at with confusion when I mentioned about it and asked to speak to the manager instead I was passed a message on from the receptionist that there was no signs of a party and was told I receive a phone call at later point on the day when I checked out. Still heard nothing since. Felt dissatisfied and disappointed with the service. Wasn’t listened to and I have never had to make a complaint before but this was the exception and felt let down by staff. Beware if using this hotel at Christmas time parties are on and you may be stuck with someone returning with party to their room.

Not a great experience. Staff not properly able to handle large groups. Disappointed re Residents Bar / food which Closed at 1.00 am without notice,and were referred to room service which was literally cold drinks and cold sandwiches from a Starbucks fridge. Duty manager was good and tried to help but his hands were tied.

Some staff were very unprofessional and didn't know how to handle customers, some were arrogant and really need to brush up on their customer service skills.

I came to this place a couple of years ago and it was 10 times better before with more attentive staff.

Overall, we spent a substantial amount of money, but the level of service was not worth the price.
