I find the staff and people who are staying very polite. I enjoyed using the health suite which includes sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, swimming pool and the bucket of cold water.

Their was a alarm going off for 3 hours Fromm 11pm till 2am in the morning you could hear the gusts above you the air con unit was leaking through the ceiling and dripping on the carpet which made it sodden wet asked at reception to help at 6am they never sent anyone till 11am when we was leaving they made no attempt to switch our rooms or even really apologise for it

I have returned to the Arden a few times.
The bed is good, rooms are spacious, and the dinner options are varied and my favorite is the beef stir fry.
It is close to the Vox. Which I go to a few times a year

No air con, so asked to move rooms to one that had a window that fully opened - which they did thank goodness.
If charging an electric car, they only have 3 chargers and be wary as the parking area is very small, so as soon as one car is parked badly you can be boxed in. They need to remove some of the spaces in that area to make it viable.

Excellent value for money, location is walking distance to resort world and the NEC. Plenty of parking.
Rooms are a decent size, clean and the bed is comfortable. No aircon which isn’t normally a problem. The shower is over the bath which is a bit difficult to get in and out.
Restaurant and bar both food plenty of choice. Our 4th visit and we will return

Some elements of the hotel are a little bit tired (carpets etc) but overall a nice hotel with comfortable beds. The only things we wished we had in the room were a fridge and some air conditioning as we had unfortunately arrived on the hottest day of the year so far!
The bar food was excellent and very reasonably priced, as was the Full English breakfast. The walkable proximity to the NEC is very useful!

We last stayed 10 years ago as we were going to a gig in what was the Genting arena so we knew it would be a bit older now. First main issue is that the underpass that connected the hotel to the arena has been filled in so it’s not as well connected to the BP Pulse, NEC or Resorts World.
Staff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful - but the thing that we could not get over was the heat in the room - the weather had been warm, and the room was like an oven - it was unbearable! We mentioned to reception as soon as we could, and they said they’d send someone up to look at it and if it wasn’t working they’d put a fan in the room. We went out to visit a show in the NEC for the afternoon and when we got back early evening, it was unbearable. Staff had been in and turned the a/c off, and put a fan in the room. Had a terrible night’s sleep due to the heat and mentioned it again on check out - we were told it would be fed back as a few people had mentioned it. We were not offered anything to compensate.

It was clearly working in the bar as that was nice and cool - but the restaurant was also very hot in comparison & we were told that some people had complained about it being too cold 😳
Food and service in the restaurant was fabulous - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but I would not be able to stay again in warm weather, or recommend anyone else - we would probably try another hotel next time we want to stay in the area

Not a great experience. I have tried to make the review balanced, and listed both the good and the bad before summarising the experience.

The bad...
1. Parking was an issue, with parking spaces in the side car parks not usable due to overgrown trees, which meant we had to drive around and around waiting for spaces to open up.
2. The rooms had NO AIR CONDITIONING, despite having the units installed...which was awful as the room was boiling hot, they had provided a stand up fan, but the fan only had two legs and not the four it should have..so it couldnt actually stand up, which was dreadful, as it meant the fan had to be dropped against the wall, and therefore made minimal, if any difference.
3. The windows have safety catches so can only open a couple of centimeters, and the entertainment music is LOUD and people also congregate outside the rooms windows down below, so it was gone midnight before it started quieting down.
4. The hotel pre authorises £50 as a security deposit during your stay, and they say you can use this deposit if you are eating in (so it effectively deducts the £50 from your bill if you are eating in, or they refund it on check out), however on attending the restaurant this function wasn't working, so paid full and now we need to wait the 7-14 days for the £50 to be released back to card.

On a positive note, the food in the restaurant was lovely and the restaurant service was also very good and was the highlight of our stay and I wouldnt stay again.

Room lovely and clean,bed very comfortable, I'd have liked a top sheet as I found the duvet too warm but no cover, too cold, if I'd been staying longer than just one night I'd have asked and I'm sure I would have been provided with one. Lovely breakfast,choice of cooked or continental. Plenty of tea and coffee provided.
The shower was over the bath which could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. I used the leisure facilities and found it difficult to get into the Jacuzzi, a hand rail would be useful, again everywhere was clean and staff helpful (especially the waitress from Wigan!)

The superior twin room felt rather outdated for the price, and the bathroom even more so. No fridge in room, no proper air con but a very outdated ventilation system and windows barely able to open for a hint of fresh air, no toilet brush, but otherwise clean and comfortable. First room we were given was extremely hot and facing the inner courtyard above the kitchen and all the bins, and with no AC it was impossible to cool it down properly. We just about managed to convince to have rooms changed, and second one was collier, but with windows against the motorway so very loud with windows open on a warm night. Considerably better, but no wiggle room for an updated room or another option etc, seemed quite busy. Just made us feel like a bit of an inconvenience from the start unfortunately. Otherwise ok so stay for a couple of nights only to sleep there, unlikely to go again or try to enjoy more there sadly.

Had a lovely stay at the Arden hotel. The pool was nice although the main big pool was a little cold. The jacuzzi was nice though as well as the sauna/steam room. All staff very friendly. Bar staff very kind and helpful, rooms clean and tidy and hotel was tidy, lovely breakfast. Yes it’s a bit dated in the rooms etc but it’s very clean and a lovely place to stay by the motorway and Birmingham airport, ideal for going away as they do a park and fly for up to 2 weeks which is worth baring in mind parking at the hotel and jetting off in the sun. Will definitely be back again soon. Breakfast was nice too. Some of the items on the hot deck weren’t the freshest I.e hash browns bit stale tasting but all hot and easy to get from the buffet deck. Staff lovely at breakfast too. Great place to stay. Will return soon.

No bed / cot provided for baby. Room was not clean at all. There was hairs in the bathroom and underneath the duvet cover. Pipes are all exposed. Bed was uncomfortable could not sleep at all. I let staff know but they didnt do anything.

Stay was ok. Car park difficult, v few signs etc so no idea where was going to get to reception. Road closures made accessing hotel difficult and staff didn't let us know about the potential issues. Room smelt a bit funny but was otherwise clean. Shower leaked water onto bathroom floor. Pool nice.

Clean room but very dated. Was on the ground floor at the back of the hotel. The room was hotter than the sun so had to sleep with the window open. Also found the latch to lock the window was broken so could be easily opened from the outside anyway.

I used the leisure facilities which were good but also dated. I didn’t eat in the hotel but did have a drink at the bar.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and a perfect location for the NEC (15min walk)

We stayed here for a couple of nights while my partner visited the convention at the nec. We had lovely weather but unfortunately the hotel is quite dated and has no air conditioning in the rooms. Some hotels that don’t have air conditioning do put fans/heaters in the rooms but no fans were provided during the hot weather at this hotel.
We also found the air vent in our bathroom had not been cleaned in some time as it was thick with dust and so stopping the vent from working making the vent useless.
This is a handy hotel for the nec only about a 15 minute walk away and the lady on reception when we checked out was very friendly. But be warned it is a dated hotel.

Wouldn’t say it Was quite 4 * but certainly a pleasant stay and buffet breakfast for £14 was really nice reasonable amount of options and porridge we pre ordered came full to the brim and was delicious. Quite old fashioned almost like being in a time warp, but all in all a nice pleasant stay, pool was nice and quiet when we went and food was decent, bar area not too bad, good value for money, with being so close to the airport, which you can actually walk to from the hotel as well, so nice bonus.

This hotel was well kept and the room was clean. The reception team were helpful and polite. The grounds were well kept also. The rest of the hotel I wasn’t as impressed with. We were “selected” for an upgrade “offered” for an additional £20 but upon checking this it was the usual rate on Expedia, so hardly an offer! The room was very basic and it was a superior room, I dread to see the standard room. The shower was designed for someone under 5,8ft as I had to crouch to get under it. We asked for a quote room but I doubt there is any such thing as it’s right on the flight path, motorway and train line so it was very noisy throughout our stay. The walls are paper thin so could hear everything. The pool was freezing cold so my son wouldn’t go in it and the jacuzzi was only for over 16’s for some random reason, so as a family we couldn’t even enjoy that part. The gym also was for over 16’s too so another facility we couldn’t use. We didn’t try the on site restaurant as the prices weren’t cheap and you gave resorts world next door with loads of variety to eat and slightly cheaper. The positive is that it’s close to the nec and Birmingham int station. I’d look around for better budget hotels next time.

The hotel was welcoming, clean, light, staff were lovely. Corridors were quiet, couldn't hear any neighbours, which was a bonus as I needed to work and I needed a good night's sleep.

The room was clean, although I found a dirty sock (which wasn't mine) in the corner of the wardrobe. The water from tap in the bathroom kept covering me in water, annoyingly every time I used the basin.
I didn't bring a hairdryer as the room had one but please bring your own, the old gadget in the room kept clicking off and overheating, not modern at all.

The breakfast was nice. Overall, I would stay at this venue again.

We had breakfast which was a choice off full english or continental, good choice of breakfast.

This Hotel is dated but very clean and tidy and the staff are all welcoming, accommodating and professional.

For the price Point the hotel offers exceptional value for money in its location to the NEC and Vox Conference Centre's as well as Birmingham International airport.

Food offering was varied and sensibly priced and the well stocked bar reasonably priced too.

The Hotel has a gym centre swimming pool which although i did not get to use seemed very reasonable.

Nice to see a hotel keeping the posttimes of a snooker / pool room and arcade games for some evening entertainment as well as ample space to relax and watch a match with a drink or two

Bar was well stocked and reasonable priced. Didn’t have food but it did look delicious.
Really convenient for BP Pulse Arena, only about a 10 minute walk.
Would definitely stay again and recommend.

I stayed here for one night as was attending a concert at BP pulse which is walking distance. Staff was friendly, really liked the lounge area, breakfast had a good variety. Rooms were good enough, perhaps could have been a little bit longer (I am 6 foot 3!) but overall, an excellent stay with no complaints. Good value for money, and would definitely recommend this hotel if anyone had to go somewhere near by i.e. Birmingham Airport, BP pulse or NEC

If i had to round it up into two words it would be Great Value

Nothing really bad to say about this hotel its got great facilities with the gym and spa the food was great both the food we got at the bar and the breakfast and all great value would really recommend the food here. As for staff they were all really nice and friendly any isues and they were resolved straight away.

The location is unbeatable if you are visiting the NEC and Resorts world definitely the hotel of choice for my party next time we visit the area

Room was clean, but tired, and it was a superior, one, so I am not sure what the standard would be like! Also it was cold, and adjusting the heating control didn't seem to make any difference to the temperature . Staff friendly and helpful.
The swimming pool, is small and cold, and the female changing room floor was flooded with water., when I visited. Which was probably an accident zone in the making. The restaurant menu looked varied and reasonably priced.
However, unless there was no where else, I doubt I would stay again. Which is a shame.

I had a problem with my shower flooding. Maintenance tried to fix it but couldn't so I was immediately given a new room. I was even offered a staff member to help me move.
There is a gym, a pool and a snooker room. Bar is well staffed with a good range of beverages. Prices are not unreasonable for a hotel and service is very good. Bar food is also available.
Restaurant food is good and wait staff helpful. Prices are reasonable for a hotel of this size.
Breakfast is buffet style. Food kept hot and refreshed regularly. Plenty of options, full English or continental or a mix of both (I like to have a bit of both) so something for everyone.
I was staying for a car show at the NEC and the hotel is conveniently located for this venue.
I needed cabs to get me there and back the cost was around £10 each way. However it is walkable via a back route it takes around 10 to 15 minutes depending on your pace.
I have stayed at this hotel before and will happily stay at the Arden again.

An easy walk to the hotel after you get off the monorail. 15 minutes max, and I'm a slow walker. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. Food is always excellent.

Great location, large clean rooms, friendly staff, dated with noisy windows. Comfy bed, good shower, excellent WiFi. Close to NEC, train station and airport.
