Overall the hotel is good and well maintained. I would say it's a little dated in areas but the staff were friendly and pleasant. My main gripe is that I arrived 1.5 hours ahead of check in time and they wanted £10 per hour extra to get into my room early. I wasn't expecting to get in early but if the room is ready then I would expect to be able to get in anhour ahead of time without being charged.

Our stay was very relaxing, luckily the weather helped with this. I would recommend booking the superior room for the stay very spacious and clean. Bathroom was a bit outdated, but didn’t bother us. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating which were more important. Had known you can take golf lessons, I would have booked this to explore this further, as they have a golf shop on site.

Superb hotel...cosy and well-run. Excellent spa facilities with an indoor, heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room - kids are allowed.
Good food but could have done with a wider menu choice for prepaid half-board customers (only 3 mains to choose from whereas a-la-carte had much more choice). Helpings were also just a little on the smaller side. Plus noise levels can get quite high at dinner times from 'loud' guests (with little noise control by the staff).
Excellent customer service otherwise - they even came and knocked on my door when i didn't initially answer my wake-up call!
Lovely scenery outside plus a popular golf course. Recommended if you are visiting the area.

Really good deal for the 3 of us for hotel with the night including dinner and breakfast. Staff were really good so was spa facilities for what you paid for. Overall would go again.

But disappointed with dinner wasn’t told it was a buffet till we got to the restaurant ( we did prebook calling few days before and saw staff at check in where there was opportunity to tell us)
Though the staff where excellent at accommodating the group member who had a food allergy and letting her choose of menu. Myself and our other party member had to have buffet with fajitas are okay but wasn’t what we were looking for as food option’s especially as we was celebrating a birthday. I think they could do with a disclaimer at time of booking that if you are half board dinner could be Buffett or a set menu but you won’t know till your there. .

Stayed at the Forest of Arden Hotel and overall had a really good experience. The setting is genuinely stunning, especially in the evening when the deer come out, which was a real highlight for us.

It’s clearly very golf-focused, so worth knowing if that’s not your thing, but it didn’t take away from our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although starting to feel a little worn in places.

The staff were friendly throughout, and I have to give a special mention for how well they handled my wife’s and son’s coeliac requirements. Breakfast was prepared separately from the buffet, fresh, and with plenty of options, which made a big difference.

We felt safe and well looked after during our stay, and I’d definitely come back again.

For the price, the hotel is in need of an upgrade. It’s not a bad stay overall, but the grand entrance sets expectations that the rest of the property doesn’t quite meet. That said, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were outstanding, friendly, attentive, and a real highlight of the experience.

The staff were very helpful & informative.

The breakfast buffet could have more items however it was still decent. For breakfast, we were offered vegetarian sausages seperately as the buffet did not have any vegetarian sausages. That was very thoughtful of the staff.

The room had everything we required, a hairdryer, a fridge (requested earlier), a fan & were able to adjust the heating in the room.

The spa facilities were nice & clean.

We paid £83 for a family room (2 kids 2 adults) so for the money it was great! We used the pool twice, the changing rooms aren’t in the best condition so we went straight back to the room for a shower we visited a local pub for dinner and had a breakfast cob in ZEST the following morning. We usually stay in Marriott’s in comparison this is dated and pool area and general facilities need a refurb but we just needed a place to sleep and a pool to entertain the kids after a day a Warwick castle! No complaints for the price!

The hotel is really beautiful, we stayed for 3 nights and arrived 6 hours before check in so they let us leave our luggage there. We cannot praise the staff enough, they were so professional, very attentive and always happy to help. The selection at breakfast was excellent, so you could have something different everyday and we ate in the restaurant on one of the nights, the food was delicious and although slightly high in price, it was totally worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

Having previously played golf here and it is a lovely course I was staying because of a 2 day business trip running workshops nearby

Check in was fine, staff were friendly. First disappointment no water in a room costing over £200. I think that is poor.

Main issue was with the restaurant. I had booked an evening meal as part of the deal. At end of long day all your want is a relaxed meal etc. Below is the timeline

7.45pm Entered Restaurant
8.00pm Eventually order taken for starter and main and glass of wine
8.25pm waiter comes up with two main dishes asking if mine. I am dining on my own although one looks the steak i ordered as a main
8.40pm Comes back with same two plates. Been a mistake with my order. I ask if i can have my original starter - told that not an option and tries to get me to accept the steak that has he has been carrying round for 20 minutes. I insist on a fresh one. Offers a glass of wine as compensation
8.45 Waitress turns up with a glass of red wine despite I have been drinking white - i eventually get a white one
8.50 New steak turns up and to be fair it is nice
9.05 Finish and move plate to side clearly visible. For 40 minutes staff walk past the table no one attempts to clear it away or take a dessert order
9.45 Manager comes over and takes plate and asks about dessert - i say too late now and will pay for drinks and supplement. She waives them

So two hours to serve one course when I paid for 3.

Quite simply, BRILLIANT!
Set in a beautiful country location this hotel is so peaceful, yet only a few minutes drive from the NEC, Meriden and the motorway network.
Every member of staff is polite, courteous and helpful. The whole hotel has a certain opulence. The rooms are a good size without being too large, have comfortable beds, sumptuous pillows and the bathrooms are all with a bath and shower and pleasant for a good soak. Always there is hot water with no running problems. The rooms are well lit. Fully lined curtains ensure a good night's sleep. The tv has high and clear definition. There is a decent kettle and coffee, tea, sufficient milk and biscuits are supplied. There is a largish desk with a smoked glass top, two pleasant easy chairs accompanied by a small round table, not to mention the standard lamp close by. Everywhere is very clean and the hotel always smells nice. I usually eat in the bar and have always had first class meals. There is a good range of beers too. The bar is a very pleasant informal place to eat and relax after a day out. The breakfasts are very comprehensive and nicely cooked. There is an array of cereals, full English breakfast, full range of croissants, muffins, fruit. good choice of coffee, fruit juices and tea. The restaurant is most pleasant. There is a lift -no lugging cases upstairs.Pleasant secure carpark.No noise at night. Staff great. Best hotel in area.

Hotel is a bit dated but comfortable & fits the surroundings. Never used the restaurant facilities due to the high prices so took a quick drive to Sheldon where there’s loads of places to eat which works out way cheaper. Used pool once, area could do with a bit of a refresh and more sun loungers as spa guests hogged them so had nowhere to relax. Kyle, Srujana, Lucia & Ann are wonderful and need credit for their excellent service and friendliness. Was great to take a lovely night walk round the front of the hotel looking for nightlife with our infrared camera. Will definitely be staying again when visiting the area.

I’m 37 and fell on the extremely unsafe shower tiles that have absolutely no stick (we have video proof) fractures one of the bones in my thumb. Staff at desk admit to poor safety compliance and apologised but manager was dismissive and unhelpful and offered no apology. No once. I’m not at all a health and safety nut but between this incident and the fact that dishes are left outside rooms for 24 hours and strange smells I wouldn’t be going back in a hurry

Clean room. Bed extremely uncomfortable and left with a bad back. Couldn’t have done another night. That’s apart from the very loud and late karaoke evening that was being held in the room next door (320) that kept everyone awake. Unusual pillows that don’t support at all and just collapsed! Asked for extra pillows but made no difference. Shower was too low for me. This makes washing your hair awkward when you’re bending forward to wash it rather than backwards like usual. It’s ok for me with short hair but my wife has long hair and she found this annoying. No sockets by the bed to change your phone. The people in charge should spend some time actually staying in their rooms to experience this for themselves. I wouldn’t have said anything but I kept being asked to feedback!

Stayed for Crufts, 4th/6th March. Returned first day from Arena at 3.45 pm and room had not been serviced. Tried to phone Reception to find out phone did not work! Had to go to Reception, told fresh towels would be sent within minutes. ONE HOUR later, returned to Reception to ask for Duty Manager. Young man seemed blinkered as to the problem. Deputy Housekeeper on the ball and very apologetic.

A disappointing stay. First - We had upgraded to decorations in the room as a birthday surprise. The receptionist kind of ruined the suprise but we made a fun of it and it was fine, then we got to the room - no decorations.

They apologised and said they would offer a free drink and money off dinner - all good.

Then, we went to the spa, one of the main reasons we booked a break away. There was a waiting list as it was so busy, so we didn't get in. And it was more like a community leisure centre - kids jumping in the pool, strong chlorine smell, loud and lot's of chatter - far from a spa.

Dinner was lovely and the staff were very friendly too, same with breakfast. However on check out - the discount promised off our food was not granted. It seems a miscommunication with the restaurant manager and the receptionist plus waitress who served us - she reiterated that we would get a specific amount off dinner. They said they would be in touch once they have clarity of the situation, but charged us in the meantime.. we still haven't heard back and will be chasing up.

Overall quite a disappointing stay, would not recommend.

Wouldn’t return or recommend - we stayed somewhere close by the previous week (with a pool) for less money. We were a family of four sharing a room.

Main issue was pool areas being dirty - changing room (ladies) was covered in dirty towels/ robes and slippers, on benches and floors. Floor was also dirty. Steam room had rubbish in.

In communal corridors we saw lots of piles of dirty dishes, left from room service, that were not collected (from the time we checked in and still there over 5/6 hours later when we went to bed).

Breakfast was ok and staff were friendly. Beds ok too. I did report the changing room and the staff member did say she would pass this on.

But we would not return - our stay the previous week nearby in a H.I was much better for almost £60 less.

Pluses were our room although a standard was spacious with a large very comfortable bed and both the room and bathroom were spotless. The spa facilities were great, the lobby smelled lovely and the staff we interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful. Negatives, room had very basic tea/coffee, only one bath sheet for two people and could clearly hear the conversation of the family in the next room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

All of the staff were really friendly and the hotel was big and spacious. However, it was quite dated, with a hot radiator in the room that we had to turn off but with no air conditioning we opened a window but was then subjected to lots of outside noise. Sorry to say that we were also subjected to lots of inside noise! So soundproofing was an issue. Our food was also quite mixed.

Just what we would expect for a 4* hotel, clean, well decorated, friendly staff. The breakfast was good, but not amazing. The swimming pool and spa facilities were great, the gym was very well equipped.
We had a lovely surprise when we came back to our room on the second day; it was my daughter’s birthday so I had brought decorations with me and the maid had made a 3 x story cake made out of towels, ribbons, flowers and pom poms. It was very special and so thoughtful. Thank you very much.

Lovely staff , extremely clean in all areas . Good quality food for evening meal and the buffet breakfast was very good value for money . I would say that the pool area could do with a re-think as trying to get past the jacuzzi to the pool steps when swimming lessons are taking place is quite difficult, one wrong move and you would be head first into the jacuzzi! Otherwise great facilities. The spa looked lovely but unfortunately no slots available, our fault as we booked an hour before arrival as a last minute decision. Would 100% stay again.

Spacious and clean room overlooking the golf course. Staff were polite, welcoming and helpful. Made good uses of the swimming pools steam room sauna and small gym during the late afternoon/evening. There was a wedding party at the hotel during my stay but there were no noise issues in the room.

it cannot be 4 star, rooms were airless and smelly, breakfast offering very limited options for vegeterians or vegans, the pool was shallow and crowded.no plaster on the walls looking like something just happened.not enough lobby or communual area to sit and relax.

Really nice hotel. The room size was great and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel was very busy, but that was expected due to New Year and half-term. The pool was also very busy and there was quite a wait to get in, but we managed in the end. The steam room and sauna were lovely and the facilities overall were very good. The lobby smelt lovely, was nicely decorated, and the hotel was very clean throughout.
Breakfast was quite manic and chaotic but there was a good selection of options. The staff were friendly and even brought vegetarian sausages to our table, which was appreciated. Overall, a good stay for the price we paid — very affordable and a nice night away. A good hotel overall.

My partner has stayed before and said it was good food and good service etc however we just stayed for New Years Eve and didn’t have a great experience (which I think is because they couldn’t cope with how busy it was). When we arrived we were told the pool was full and then would call us when we could get in, this ended up being an hour before closing, I’d point out this is more of a family/kid pool not suitable if you are looking to swim song lengths. We had a reservation for dinner but had to sue and didn’t get seated for over half an hour, had to ask three times just for some water. Dinner was a carvery, because it was late by the time we got seated we clearly just had what was left of the food which had likely been out a while as it was quite dry. Breakfast the next morning again was quite chaotic with them unable to keep up with demand.

Like I say, my partner has been before and had a good experience but I feel they can’t cope with high demand.
