Nice entrance. Reasonable and at times lovely staff.
I’m 37 and fell on the extremely unsafe shower tiles that have absolutely no stick (we have video proof) fractures one of the bones in my thumb. Staff at desk admit to poor safety compliance and apologised but manager was dismissive and unhelpful and offered no apology. No once. I’m not at all a health and safety nut but between this incident and the fact that dishes are left outside rooms for 24 hours and strange smells I wouldn’t be going back in a hurry

Clean room. Bed extremely uncomfortable and left with a bad back. Couldn’t have done another night. That’s apart from the very loud and late karaoke evening that was being held in the room next door (320) that kept everyone awake. Unusual pillows that don’t support at all and just collapsed! Asked for extra pillows but made no difference. Shower was too low for me. This makes washing your hair awkward when you’re bending forward to wash it rather than backwards like usual. It’s ok for me with short hair but my wife has long hair and she found this annoying. No sockets by the bed to change your phone. The people in charge should spend some time actually staying in their rooms to experience this for themselves. I wouldn’t have said anything but I kept being asked to feedback!

When we checked we were told we only got a 1 hour spa slot, which was disappointing but then when we went to book that slot we were told we couldn't use the spa due to full capacity. Very disappointed as we choose the hotel for the facilities

Stayed for Crufts, 4th/6th March. Returned first day from Arena at 3.45 pm and room had not been serviced. Tried to phone Reception to find out phone did not work! Had to go to Reception, told fresh towels would be sent within minutes. ONE HOUR later, returned to Reception to ask for Duty Manager. Young man seemed blinkered as to the problem. Deputy Housekeeper on the ball and very apologetic.

A disappointing stay. First - We had upgraded to decorations in the room as a birthday surprise. The receptionist kind of ruined the suprise but we made a fun of it and it was fine, then we got to the room - no decorations.

They apologised and said they would offer a free drink and money off dinner - all good.

Then, we went to the spa, one of the main reasons we booked a break away. There was a waiting list as it was so busy, so we didn't get in. And it was more like a community leisure centre - kids jumping in the pool, strong chlorine smell, loud and lot's of chatter - far from a spa.

Dinner was lovely and the staff were very friendly too, same with breakfast. However on check out - the discount promised off our food was not granted. It seems a miscommunication with the restaurant manager and the receptionist plus waitress who served us - she reiterated that we would get a specific amount off dinner. They said they would be in touch once they have clarity of the situation, but charged us in the meantime.. we still haven't heard back and will be chasing up.

Overall quite a disappointing stay, would not recommend.

Wouldn’t return or recommend - we stayed somewhere close by the previous week (with a pool) for less money. We were a family of four sharing a room.

Main issue was pool areas being dirty - changing room (ladies) was covered in dirty towels/ robes and slippers, on benches and floors. Floor was also dirty. Steam room had rubbish in.

In communal corridors we saw lots of piles of dirty dishes, left from room service, that were not collected (from the time we checked in and still there over 5/6 hours later when we went to bed).

Breakfast was ok and staff were friendly. Beds ok too. I did report the changing room and the staff member did say she would pass this on.

But we would not return - our stay the previous week nearby in a H.I was much better for almost £60 less.

Pluses were our room although a standard was spacious with a large very comfortable bed and both the room and bathroom were spotless. The spa facilities were great, the lobby smelled lovely and the staff we interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful. Negatives, room had very basic tea/coffee, only one bath sheet for two people and could clearly hear the conversation of the family in the next room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

All of the staff were really friendly and the hotel was big and spacious. However, it was quite dated, with a hot radiator in the room that we had to turn off but with no air conditioning we opened a window but was then subjected to lots of outside noise. Sorry to say that we were also subjected to lots of inside noise! So soundproofing was an issue. Our food was also quite mixed.

Just what we would expect for a 4* hotel, clean, well decorated, friendly staff. The breakfast was good, but not amazing. The swimming pool and spa facilities were great, the gym was very well equipped.
We had a lovely surprise when we came back to our room on the second day; it was my daughter’s birthday so I had brought decorations with me and the maid had made a 3 x story cake made out of towels, ribbons, flowers and pom poms. It was very special and so thoughtful. Thank you very much.

I think this place would have been great in 80's and 90's, but it's very very tired now. I cannot recall seeing a plastic shower curtain in a hotel and that's indicative of the interiors here.

Overall very good and I'd happy go back, however the hotel has a very strange and rather disjointed layout, and the public spaces whilst very well kept and pleasant don't go the extra mile to make this feel like a premium experience. Our room was fresh, clean, comfortable and very welcoming.

We had intended to use the spa facilities and the pool, which looked lovely but we ran out of time unfortunately ! We will return !

From the moment we checked in with the gentleman in Reception, to all staff members we met during our stay, they couldnt have been more welcoming, helpful or efficient. They are a credit to you and valued staffing.

Our favourite hotel for a family wellbeing break, we love the sauna, pool, jacuzzi and steam room, quiet bedrooms and the buffet breakfast. Lots to see and do in the local area, and the staff are lovely. Useful to have EV charging and plenty of free parking.

Lovely staff , extremely clean in all areas . Good quality food for evening meal and the buffet breakfast was very good value for money . I would say that the pool area could do with a re-think as trying to get past the jacuzzi to the pool steps when swimming lessons are taking place is quite difficult, one wrong move and you would be head first into the jacuzzi! Otherwise great facilities. The spa looked lovely but unfortunately no slots available, our fault as we booked an hour before arrival as a last minute decision. Would 100% stay again.

Really nice hotel. The room size was great and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel was very busy, but that was expected due to New Year and half-term. The pool was also very busy and there was quite a wait to get in, but we managed in the end. The steam room and sauna were lovely and the facilities overall were very good. The lobby smelt lovely, was nicely decorated, and the hotel was very clean throughout.
Breakfast was quite manic and chaotic but there was a good selection of options. The staff were friendly and even brought vegetarian sausages to our table, which was appreciated. Overall, a good stay for the price we paid — very affordable and a nice night away. A good hotel overall.

My partner has stayed before and said it was good food and good service etc however we just stayed for New Years Eve and didn’t have a great experience (which I think is because they couldn’t cope with how busy it was). When we arrived we were told the pool was full and then would call us when we could get in, this ended up being an hour before closing, I’d point out this is more of a family/kid pool not suitable if you are looking to swim song lengths. We had a reservation for dinner but had to sue and didn’t get seated for over half an hour, had to ask three times just for some water. Dinner was a carvery, because it was late by the time we got seated we clearly just had what was left of the food which had likely been out a while as it was quite dry. Breakfast the next morning again was quite chaotic with them unable to keep up with demand.

Like I say, my partner has been before and had a good experience but I feel they can’t cope with high demand.

Positives: very convenient locale, outside urban areas therefore easy to drive to. Passcode for keypad needed to exit ones car, which is provided by reception to residents. Ample free parking on site. EV car charging point available, which was quite handy. Hotel well within the grounds of the estate, allowing for a very quiet environment. Reception quick and hassle-free. Friendly reception staff. Access to rooms via key card. Room well lit, with natural views. Well heated and comfortable room. Complimentary Belgian chocolate on arrival. Coffee making amenities replenished every day. Room clean and turned over daily on time. Shower strength moderate. Iron with ironing table in the room. Restaurant food of good variety and fairly fresh. Same as breakfast. Did not use swimming pool or spa amenities.

Negatives: the lobby looks bare and Spartan. Altogether a tad too functional. Toilet flush strength in the room was really weak, requiring multiple flushing attempts. While I did not use the TV in the room, I checked it. Early 2000s technology and of low image resolution, in dire need of an upgrade.

The property felt dated, with noise carrying throughout, footsteps in the corridors and slamming doors were clearly audible and we couldn’t sleep. The carpets were torn and the wallpaper was peeling in places. There was also a lack of atmosphere, with dining options that were limited and overpriced. Not as advertised!

The breakfast menu was fresh and replenished throughout. The staff from reception to lifeguard go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable! The grounds and building itself is lovely though a little dated which has no impact on your actual stay. We used the pool and the temperature was a tad cool, but jacuzzi and sauna room was fantastic. Having said this the shower temperature in the leisure was piping hot and this area I believe needed some maintenance with painting etc. Overall a brilliant stay and I would highly recommend, you won’t regret it.

Our family stayed for 4 nights and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean and well equipped. The pool area & leisure facilities were great - clean and well presented. We included breakfast in our rate and it was superb- plenty of choice; healthy and less healthy, with my husband’s coeliac needs well met. The hotel is set on stunning grounds, it was so nice to drive in and observe the wildlife. The staff were absolutely wonderful, warm; welcoming and informative. We were welcomed by Oben and Kyle who were a great front of house team. The hotel was our base for the night when we were watching a show at the BP Pulse. The hotel is really well located to the NEC, with easy links to other lovely local amenities. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The room had all of the amenities that you'd expect but there was a general feeling of shabbyness. Things needed renewing (grout in the bathroom for example) and had been neglected.

The bed was comfortable but the pillows were all very thin and soft. I could have done with a firmer option.

Parking was easy and close by.
Staff were friendly but the reception area smelled so strongly of air freshener that I could practically taste it.

Only stayed as a stopover when picking up a new car from Birmingham, so didn’t get a chance to use any of the leisure facilities etc, but pre-booked half-board which was a 3 course evening meal (a fair choice of options, and to a good standard), and breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was very good, with a wide choice of good quality options. The room was nicely appointed and clean. Overall booking the half-board package, I felt was good value for money and I would stay there again.

From our warm and helpful welcome by Abhal on arrival to his smiling farewell, we enjoyed our stay. Our room was fine with a walk in shower. Very clean and comfortable. An extra chair was provided without fuss, though it would have been nice to have a fridge. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our meals and also the Leisure Club. The room was clean but made up for 2 adults whilst the booking was for 3. Staff came quickly with additional towels coffee supplies etc.
The food offer on the bar menu was ok but the restaurant food varied in quality. Squid starter was hard, dry, overcooked. Beignet dessert turned out to be a doughnut. We cancelled a cheese plate. The cancellation was acknowledged by the waiter but I had to get reception to remove it from the bill as it was still charged. This was done promptly though without question.

We wanted to extend checkout, was told it was £10 an hour. When we came back to entend it, another lady then said it was £20 an hour! When we questioned it she said its too late to extend it nowdesite there being 6 hours notice

We had a lovely stay, staff were extremely friendly, welcoming & helpful throughout the hotel. The food at both Zest and The Fairway dinner buffet was good, we appreciated the many vegetarian options such as lasagne. Breakfast was also very good.

Swimming pool was very nice and clean with good temperature for the water as well as the Sauna and Steam room. Gym was very good with many different fitness areas, free-weights, studio etc..

Inside the room, the beds were very comfy, lots of space for our luggage etc..

Only a few things to note for improvement but does not take away from our experience and would definitely come again:
1. Robes in the rooms for us to enjoy spa/swimming
2. Check in time to be earlier than 4pm although staff were very accommodating and managed to get us in earlier
3. Shower, unfortunately it is fixed making it hard to manoeuvre.

What stood out for me during my visit to Forest of Arden was polite, friendly and efficient staff. Great security. Food was good. And my room was clean and well presented. I slept the best Ive ever slept in any hotel. The place just has a lovely energy. I felt very calm and rested which I needed as I was in the area exhibiting which was exhausting so it was wonderful to be able to come back to such a chill calm space. Lovely setting. I will rebook next year.
