A great hotel for getting to and getting about.

Its good to be able to re-use this truly conveniently located hotel. A few minuets from two motorway junctions gives multiple options when considering motorway congestion. A railway station and bus stops outside the door give easy travel links to Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhampton without using the car. We even use this hotel and the train for trips to the NEC trade shows.

We had several different items off the menu the fish & chips was good the burger and chip was terrible the burger was sop over good it was hard and could not be cut.

The tv did not work the whole screen was full of pixels on every channel.
When booked I requested a twin room on arrival they gave me a standard room when I said I had a requested a twin they swiftly found me a twin room by it was a disability room which was not good for my son who is 6ft 3in tall and had to go on his knee to wash in the toilet as the sink was obviously set at a level for wheelchair user.

I really wanted to give this place five stars. The hotel was spotless, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the shower had water pressure strong enough to launch a small spacecraft — in the best way possible.

But then there was the mattress. Or should I say concrete slab with bedsheets? I’m all for a firm bed, but this felt like a punishment for something I didn’t do. If sleep is optional on your trip, you’ll be just fine.

It’s a shame, really — so much done right, only to be undone by the one thing a hotel should absolutely nail: the bed.

Food was awful, rooms where ok, tv was terrible as where the pillows. All staff where friendly but some didn’t know what they where doing. The air con in the restaurant is up far too high and makes the room freezing. Would not go back.

Stayed for 2 nights for sabbath concert, check in pretty easy, room was nice, bed was comfy, thick pillows (maybe a little too thick but not an issue). Very close to bescot train station only a few min walk. We had food on first evening pizzas pricey but really nice. I ordered an 8inch, they ran out but rather than saying I couldn’t have it they sent out a 12inch for no extra charge which was good! Chips were horrible though. Breakfast however was really good, not a huge choice but what was available was good quality. Choose from Cooked sausage bacon eggs and beans, or toast, pastries, cooked meats, cereals fruit and yoghurt. Veggie items available on request. Black out curtains in the hotel were particularly good, almost missed breakfast it was so dark in the room thought it was nighttime still! Free parking. On morning of sabbath concert the staff all had their rock T-shirts on which was a nice touch!

Parking all full when I arrived and so had to park on side road by side of car park. It was unlit and felt very unsafe. I worried whether my car would get broken into. The room itself was satisfactory although a big dated. Chipped desk and scaling around shower and fittings. Perfectly adequate but that is all!

Hotel is purposely for the travelling tradie. It’s in a congested area and traffic is heavy morning and evening. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Shower and toilet have the feel of a public toilet and smells of damp and yes there’s black mould too. Breakfast was cheap but not great with low quality food and only white bread available. Dinner was disappointing too, it’s hard to get fish and chips wrong but they served in a daft basket with fish on top of the chips so the chips were super greasy. Peas are served in a plant pot. My server was totally unsuited for the job.

No hand wash, shampoo or body wash in the room. Both containers were empty and there was only enough toilet roll for one person, which makes you wonder if the room is even checked and cleaned properly after each stay. Mattress left us with a back ache for two days, so overall would not recommend staying here.

A comfortable stay!

Found the bathroom had a strong stinky smell, told front desk then changed to a clean one. I like the wooden floor, Feeling clean and confident to stay. House keeping staff are friendly and done the good job. Good stay with on-site parking, easy to go out for shopping and eating with your car. I extended my stay from 1 night to 4 nights.

Reception Pretty Much Called Me A Liar

I paid for two night seperately as i decided (last minute) to stay on the same night as well as the booking I made for the next night. The staff on the night okayd it. The next morning the Asian receptionist called me on the phone to say ive only paid for one night. I explained the situation over the phone and said i would come down to show her proof. I showed her both confirmation emails from Hotels.com and both deductions from my bank account for each nights stay on my phone app. She then had the cheek to tell me that I had only paid for one night because her system only said one night. I was about to kick off because what she said was the same as calling me a liar. She then told me to go back to my room and that she would sort it. When i got back to my room i realised that I was locked out and the access card did not work anymore and all my belongings were locked inside. So I headed back downstairs to reception with the intention of kicking off again. I told her that i was locked out of my room and her response was \" I know, but I have spoken to my manager and he has agreed to extend your stay\". On the one hand I was happy it was resolved but on the other, why did she let go back to the room knowing that I would be locked out?!

When I later approached her to ask about the dining facilities she had a very welcoming look on her face as if she finally found the 2nd booking. Did she apologize...did she hell...not big enough or professional enough. Also peperoni pizza ..yuk.

The lady at breakfast was lovely. Really appreciated her welcome throughout my stay. There was a man in a suit whos attitude i did not appreciate. In the morning i told the lady my room number and that I should have breakfast included so she told me thats fine etc. the man asked me if i was ok? I said i was fine and he asked me has she taken your room number? I said yes i have done that. The next thing he is asking her if i have told her etc and i can hear him talking about me. Rude. Vile. However, the lady was lovely. Im not a thief i would not be having breakfast if i did not pay. Further, the rooms were fine a bit like a prison cell not very homely. Gym access which is great even though its tiny. Happy enough. They should improve on their customer service well that man should. Rooms could be made a bit more homely

We was so disappointed with this hotel. Weve stayed in a radison hitel before and it was lovely. This hotel wasnt so good. The room we had was extremely hot. The air-conditioning unit was near the front door so it couldnt circulate around the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were very hard. The windows are locked so you cant open them to cool the room down. We had a faulty kettle in our room so couldnt make a cuppa. They have a pool table but no cues so couldnt play pool. Staff wernt too friendly to be honest.

After contacting the hotel to say we didn’t need a family room they told us to speak to hotels.com as they didn’t have the option to help us which we thought was odd !!! On arrival weeks later we were then told we couldn’t order any food as they had two coach loads of people that took priority!!! My guests had travelled from both ends of the country for a weekend together which was spoilt. We were offered a free breakfast as they wouldn’t let us order food so we accepted and then went for a drink in the bar to find only one bar staff member serving two coach loads of people. The poor girl could obviously not cope and had been left on her own. We left the bar and went to our rooms to discuss or options. In the morning we awoke and went for breakfast to be told again that there was no breakfast available for us although we were in the restaurant area for 10am !!! We were so angry we left before We ended up in a debate with someone. This is the worst experience I have ever dealt with in a hotel. I travel The length and breadth of the uk a with my job staying in Hotels and have never come across such a disgusting service. This Hotel is a disgrace and needs to be looked at by the owners quickly !!!

A good all round package

We are regulars at this hotel since it first opened which says it all. We have stopped at most other Walsall area hotels but keep coming back to this one. As a package its very very hard to beat. Convenient, good staff, clean rooms and a decent breakfast.
The train station is a 5 minute walk which makes Central Birmingham and Walsall very convenient without using the car, so no hassle with finding parking and going to Birmingham on the train is cheaper than parking there.
Wifi can be a bit iffy at times or my 9 would be a 10 out of 10.

The park Inn Walsall is in a first class Hotel.
I contacted the hotel by email as I had damaged my ankle to ask for a ground floor room . This was not a problem with the hotel and my room as clean and ease access to te respection area and bar/restaurant.
Our bed was very comfortable and well equipt wiyh T.v hairdryer,Kettle,and towels. Breakfast was one of the best I have taken in a hotel ,plenty of choice.All staff helpfull and friendly. would recommend this hotel as we will stay here again no problem.

Everything was great, room was spacious, clean and with everything you need for your stay. Staff were very professional and things left in the room were not touched or move, they respected my space and things. Bathroom was cleaned daily and bins emptied. Only thing I found was parking at night, is a little tight, not hotel's problem but others who parked not properly. But I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Helplessly Poor…

When we arrived at the hotel and checked in at the reception, the receptionist was extremely slow asking for card details over three times at different stages of the checking in process.
Once in the room, the room looked tired but was acceptable, in the morning we went down for breakfast and the water to the room (later to find out hotel) had stopped working. The breakfast was extremely poor quality.
After working through the day we returned to the hotel to be told that the hotel had to closed due to a law that if you have no running water the hotel must close. To be honest I was fine with that as it was out of their control, however the reception did not have a clue what they were doing! We were transferred to the holiday inn and given an address and when we arrived the hotel had no booking information about us us being transferred to their hotel. We then had to call around every holiday inn hotel in Birmingham to find where we had been transferred to by the Park Inn!!…. It was a complete shambles. The hotel could have quiet easily called us through the day and told us they were shutting in advance so we could have prepared better and wouldn’t have been late for our work meal/gala event.

I have given them 1/5 purely because the staff and level of service was beyond poor.

Not just lip service it ticks all the Covid boxes

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times as it is one of the most convenient locations in the West midlands with a multitude of travel options on the doorstep. As a director of a company who specialise in infection control PPFMM Ltd I could not fault the general cleaning standards. or type of service.
I do have one small gripe.Breakfast is served as one lot so while eating your cereal everything else is going cold. Not helped by serving on cold plates. Will it deter me from future stays, No, I should be back late June.

Difficult to interact due to current circumstances but both nights I stayed (02/07 & 03/07) the reception staff were welcoming and professional and were friendly. The first night I only had my NHS card while I waiting for an email to be sent as i forgot my letter, they allowed me to go into my room as it was quite late, which i wasnt expecting, after a long drive enabled me to relax, the email came through 10 minites later but i was almost asleep by then, so im glad i wasnt in my car. Great service and understanding of a situation, the lady on recepetion on the 02/07 deserves praise for that alone. Rooms were spotless and well presented. Beds were comfy and great nights sleep. Tap in room 143 is quite stiff so needs looking at but nothing I couldn't deal with.
