The room has some kind of timer wired into the wall that was extremely noisy and could not be switched off meaning it kept me awake all night. Also the door outside my room has no slow close on it so every time someone went through it I heard it bang. No sleep all night.

I was not impressed with my stay at the Ramada Hotel Oldbury Birmingham. The rooms were very outdated, the bed was uncomfortable, the flooring was worn and the bathroom door had water damage and was peeling away. This is the worst hotel stay i have ever experienced far below what I would expect.

AC is not working and washrooms is uncleaned and housekeeping knocked the door at 9am for cleaning but mu checkout timing is 11.00 clock i never stay again here i cant suggest this hotel

The sink plug was missing, making it impossible to use the basin properly.
The mattress was far too soft, which aggravated my bad back on both visits.
While using Deep Heat spray in the bathroom, I was quickly overwhelmed by the fumes as the extraction fan was not working. This could have been a serious health risk, as poor ventilation might have caused me to collapse. I raised this with the night porter (Arnold), who was very helpful, but this issue was beyond his control.
Overall, these problems—particularly the smoking, poor maintenance, and faulty ventilation—had a significant impact on my comfort and wellbeing. I hope these matters can be addressed promptly to prevent similar issues for future guests.

Love my Stay at Ramala
If you're looking for affordable accommodation, Hotel Ramala is one of the best options around. The food is excellent – I had breakfast and dinner there twice, and both were really good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located next to Junction 2 on the M5, with Aldi right beside it and Asda opposite. Plus, it's just a five-minute walk to shopping and restaurants.

The rooms we had booked both had a very strong smell of cigarettes & weed. The bedside light in 1 room was hanging off. The rooms in general were tired looking as well as thw communual areas. The bathrooms had dirt and grime around the shower trays, sink etc.

Thank you. I believe the rooms corridors leading to bedrooms need a make over. Chips and broken toilet sisterns toilet flusher all need repair before guests arrive.

Probably my worst hotel stay
This hotel needs a refurb. The twin rooms we booked were on the ground floor. They smelt musty and damp. The beds were clean but uncomfortable. The shower was clean but the shower screen didn’t fit properly and flooded the floor.

Air conditioning fantastic. But everything else is dire. The reception area looks like something from the 1940's. It's tired, old, broken and no one has invested a penny for a very long time. Just go to premier inn. It's better in every respect

My stay at Ramala was quite good. The breakfast was excellent, but the rooms don’t have any AC, which was a bit uncomfortable in the warm weather. If you’re working or sleeping, it’s best to put the “Do Not Disturb” sign out as the cleaners tend to bang on the doors. Aldi and Asda are just a 1-2 minute walk away, while McDonald’s and other food stores are about 5-10 minutes depending on your pace. Overall, I’d rate it 8 out of 10.

Stayed here a few times now. Don’t expect this hotel to be like any other Ramada. In the night time the outside of the main entrance is quite dark. To my total embarrassment I walked into the glass door causing a lot of paint to certain areas of my face. Receptionist had mentioned it’s happend a few times because the previous sigh has come off and no one bothered to replace it. I’ve stayed here a few time and know one door is closed and still to my stupidity thought oh second door is opened too. Yes this is my fault but a sign on the door was simple to replace. My first room was right next to the corridor door. There doors have very old closures on them which slam shut. My bed at one point was shaking so much with obvious reasons the room next door were playing very exciting games. Luckily my room was changed. So don’t have high expectations of this place it’s a standard 2/3 star place. Needs a good modernisation upgrade.

Good location for the event we were attending. The hotel was neat and clean. Aircon didn't really work even though I asked at reception if it was working and told it should work when card is put in. Did that and waited few hours , went to sleep woke up and still not working. At least window could open wide and a nice breeze, just meant we had to put up with noisy traffic all night. Twin room booked and was put in a disabled room. Which had broken wardrobe handles, dirty walls, beds both were hard a rock with springs sticking in your body. Bathroom facilities very poor. Asked for shsmpoo or conditioner had neither. Room was disgraceful. From the 70s. When I asked why we were put in a disabled old room. No reaction from receptionist. Totally not bothered. Extremely disappointed and let down by Ramada. It was a special stat which was completely ruined and not as much as an apology.

This property is so amazing and honestly has potential to fully push for more. I think they act like they know so every guest needs that special treatment all the time. They should know that other guests are from \"Royal Service\" background so never judge a book by the cover. I love it and i will definitely book again for front facing room on the 3rd floor. When arriving we looked at the rooms and immediately saw damp all up the walls, broken flooring and disgusting radiators and windows. The room stunk of urine and to add to this the second room was as bad. The hotel refused to give a refund so be careful if you dare to stay here!!!

The stay was not good. Reception was clean and staff were polite. However the room was disgusting. There was an odour that we couldn't shift even with opening the window all night. The wall and flowers extremely dirty. The bed, even though the size was good, there was no comfort and we didn't really sleep. Agiwith cleanliness, the shower was awful and very dirty. If we didn't have to drive for several hours then I would not have used it.
