Make sure you get a tetanus before.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The place if filthy and everything is broken. Our bed sheets were filthy and when we spoke to reception they handed us sheets and told us to change them ourselves as they the didn’t have any staff on. The place stank of weed. The light fittings were all broken. The shower door fell off. The public areas are ridiculous. The pictures are not a representation of the hotel in the slightest. The walls in the room by the bed were filthy with splashes of bodily fluids of different colours. Stay clear.

The room itself was clean enough, the bathroom however was a state, mouldy and a strong whiff of urine. The \"waterfall\" shower head decided to fall off over my head as well and smash my toe, had a crack in the fitting and had been precariously fixed, a case of not my problem ended up in my foot being badly hurt.

We had a 2pm check in, got there at 2.30 and the room was not ready.
Rang up to book a car park space was told there would be no need as they never have a problem with parking, got there and the car park was full. Had to wait for both a room and parking.

Was ok, I'd go back.

The first couple of nights was very, very noisy, slamming of doors, men and women shouting at each other from across the corridor (they were same party).
Last 3 nights were nice peaceful. The pillows were awful, flat like pancakes but the linen was very clean, bed quite compfy.
The cleaners came everyother day, gave me clean towels every time.
I was very pleased to see a small fridge in my wardrobe (which I used). The hairdryer was fantastc, better than mine.
I went out for food everynight.
Over all it was ok, I'd go back.

Disappointing as not as described on website. No restaurant. Had to ask for more teabags. No luxury toiletries or marble bathroom....no luxury whatsoever. No bathrobes and had to ask for bigger towels.
It was clean and comfortable and for what we got correctly priced ....but definitely needs to correct the description on the website.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in, dirty and stinky, cant get towels upon request, the light switch exploded so we were moved to another room and the light exploded there again. The maid was rude af and barged in loud every morning and on my final day they charged me 10 pounds because I checked out 5 min late

Overall review of facilities.

Room looked tired, bed linen past its sell by date. shower to hot, controls did work properly to make it cooler. The mini fridge in the room wasnt working properly and whichever way you turned the temperature gauge it didnt make the fridge cooler. Used the public toilet downstairs in the lobby was in a terrible state. Presumably from a function from the night before.

Hotel is tatty and dirty. Gaffer tape holding carpets together and not been painted in years. Cobwebs and inspects splattered onto walls in room 1015. Corridor stinks of marijuana. A really bad experience and never to be repeated.

Been here 3 times before and always great , however this time , first put the desk staff didn't have a clue about anything , check in was 2pm and had to wait over an hour for our room , room wa Avery dated and in bad repair , bathroom extractor fan very noisy , fridge didn't work , people screaming and shouting down the hallways , even had another guest access our room , all in all I would never go there again

The hotel reception area is clean and the receptionist was helpful if not especially welcoming. The room was a mixture in that it was perfectly clean and had recently been refitted, but the wallpaper was torn and stained , the curtains not hanging securely and one light and the phone were not working. Again the bathroom was spotless but the trim along the bottom of the bath panel was missing and the remains of a previous seal were scruffy. All in all, it was as though a refurbishment had been only 80% completed. But the bed was comfy and we slept soundly.

I saw all of the bad reviews hoping it was not that bad, but it really is. Its on verge if being derelict. Walls are damaged and grubby. Every where you looked it was damaged. Reception staff on check in nit friendly and welcoming. The bathroom had hole in door, no hot water , water pressure was terrible. Tv remote didnt work. Damaged table and broken lampshades. Stained curtains and worn out headboard. Bed was atleast alright. Just everywhere you looked was scuff mark, stain or chipped broken plaster. Radiators hanging off walls. Oil heater in room had broken wheels and leaning against walls. Then we got the weed smell which I saw in few reviews :( disappointing stay.

Parking is a bonus and although my partner found it a little challenging as our room was right next the banquet hall & loads if young people making loud noise all hours/fridge did not work & bathroom had mould, we managed it. Funny smells and strange stains

We stayed Friday until Monday. On first arriving the reception was clean and presentable. There was 2 couples in-front for check in. However this taken about 30 minutes before we seen. The corridors and lifts away from reception where present very well and the carpets we badly stained. The room had a funky smell when we first opened the door, so allowed the room to air out by opening the windows. The bed sheets where clean, one bed was extremely uncomfortable and made loads of noise with the slightest movement. The carpet was stained. The smell remained in the room the full weekend and we had to keep the window open when we where out. The shower was either roasting or freezing with no power at all to it. The handles of the bath room door was loose and my friend got locked so we choose not to close the door completely. On our second morning, the windows ledge next to the lift someone had left a massive spit of green junk, house keepers where not interested when I reported it to them. Surprisingly the fridge we didn’t expect to be in our room was very clean inside

Room and corridors constantly smelling of cigarettes and weed. Room moved 3 times consistent smell.
Minimal mattress depth could feel the hard bed frame underneath. Disturbed sleep From smokers setting off the fire alarm at 3am. No hot water in the showers. After fire alarm no fire warden presence to direct us safety out the building. When asking for keys to re enter our room no proof required - genuine safety risk. Not value for money

Lounge area lovely everywhere else was terrible.
Couldn't park in hotel car park or the ones either side got told I will have to go park else where until 11pm at night as thats when there other boxing event finished

PLEASE READ!!!!!

I would not recommend this place one bit, staff where pleasant enough and catered for my needs.
The hotel itself is actually disgusting, the corridors stink of cat wee, but rooms are absolutely stinking if smoke, truly shocking and the fact people pay to stay here is just wrong.
The phrase I wouldn’t let my dog stay here is over used but this place warrants it. There is pikeys travellers all over the hotel, with their kids jumping in and out of windows and just making you feel really uncomfortable. And the tv was so squint I was actually impressed.

Please don’t stay here and use your money wisely elsewhere.

Negatives were that it smelt on entry to room, heating didn’t work so we’re given the one the receptionist had behind their desk to keep them warm, dirty marks on bathroom floor and walls, toilet seat was broken, the bed had broken and had hardboard screwed over the base as a repair, side tables were missing, trim off the desk was gone so looked scruffy, only 1 cup left in the cupboard for tea for 2 people, sheets had black stains that looked like ink on them. Advised receptionist who said the whole hotel is like it and couldn’t do anything as we paid online. If I hadn’t already paid we would have gone somewhere else

Do not stay at this Hotel! We arrived at 5pm the receptionist was off hand, the floor in reception was visibly dirty. Walking to our room we saw several piles of dirty linen on the floor in the corridor, the door to our room was open and when we walked in the carpet was sticky and the room smelled of urine! We turned around and walked out. There was no point in complaining the room was non refundable and to be honest I couldn’t imagine a room in that hotel I would want to stay in!

More like a refugee centre than a hotel

Receptionists very rude and no grasp of customer service, made me wait 10 mins while they just chatted together, then kept interuping my checking in to serve other customers meaning it took 30 mins to get the room key. Stayed here a few years ago and thought it was ok, now it is very dated. Full size fridge and microwave in the room with the tv hung at a wonky angle which gave the impression they were taking afgan refugees or dss on a regular basis. The other residents were very noisy running up and down the hallways for most of th night. Plaster in the bathroom was mainly in the bath with mould everywher. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Absolutely disgusting hotel. We found hairs in the bed, there was no housekeeping even though we stayed for 3 nights. There was a traveler family staying in the car park and hotel staff were allowing their young kids to run up and down the corridors intil 2am in the morning. The key card stopped working at least twice a day too. I understand its a cheap hotel, but i’d say spend a little more money and stay somewhere else, this hotel isn’t worth thinking about.

What a waste of £60!! Supposedly it was the ‘premier suite’ what a load of ****! First thing I noticed on the bed was a long strand of HAIR! (I wear a headscarf/hijab with my hair in a bun…so it definately wasn’t mine!)! The bed was the most uncomfortable ever, the king size bed had a double duvet….my husband and I had a tug of war! The pillows were so tiny and lumpy…there was 4 pillows but I don’t think they had been replaced in the last decade!
No nets on the window on the ground floor room, to make it worse there was a caravan in the car park with people making noise till about half 12 at night!
The bathroom was ok until I saw the bath tub, HAIR in the tub and other dirt!

Room carpet stained , the wall beside the bed was stained as well where something had splashed on it. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable but no hot water for shower in the morning and when I rang reception was told to let water run for fifteen to twenty minutes to heat up . Photos online very deceptive. Rooms very ‘tatty’
Shower dripped - loudly! I had to put a towel in the bath so I couldn’t hear it. When I came to actually have a shower in the morning I couldn’t get water warm so had to wash in sink instead.
There was 1 lightbulb working in the whole room. Lights above the bed had loose bulbs and were broken. The telephone was just a wire -no connector so you couldn’t plug it in. PAT test sticker on the plug for one of the lamps (that didn’t work anyway!) was dated 2016.
Staff were very unhelpful. I needed a charger plug for my phone, asked if they had one available and was told there were USB ports in the rooms- there weren’t. In reception when I got back from the event I had been to, there were people drinking that were obviously friends of the staff - not residents. I stood at the bar for 5 minutes before I got served, two reception staff were just chatting, ignored me until I actually asked loudly if the bar was open! I was very uncomfortable - as a guest on my own. Couldn’t wait to get out. I wasn’t offered breakfast, which on the photo looked lovely, but I’m pretty sure wouldn’t be! None of the staff wore uniform. All in all a very unpleasant experience. I was told off for not reporting the shower in the evening - which I had! I told the bloke on reception it was dripping before I went out. I didn’t discover it was cold until the morning. I couldn’t phone reception as the phone didn’t work.

Disapointing 2 night stay

Stayed in room 1114 woke up in the morning went outside of my room cleaners were cleaning and it stank of weed had a headache all day ,next day left my room at 12.30 pm stank off weed again ,reported to the desk downstairs they said will report to manager ,had a headache all day again ,came back at 18.30 spoke to reception manager couldnt smell anything ,when we went up to our room the corridor smelt off really heavy air freshner ,the chairs in the room stank and no food service ,in the carpark at the back was a gypsy caravan with little kids running about and climbing in and out of a window off one iff the rooms that was left open

The room was dirty and smelled of damp. There was mould in the shower. Looked as though it hadn't been cleaned. The staff were arrogant and need to learn some people skills. One of my party had asked for a cup for coffee, to be told in a very arrogant attitude no there was already 2 cups in the room. These were dirty from a previous occupant. My party was unable to sleep due to the smell of dampness in the rooms

Comfortable hotel but not with Hotel.com

Overall ideal place for an overnight stop, though advertising breakfast and not available.
We would stay here again though not use Hotel.com again as they were not very helpful with a problem to do with the invoice payment.
Reception asked for my credit card on leaving and I understood payment we had already paid via Hotel.com?
Who were unable to verify if a double payment had been taken.
