Our shower was clogged and had to wait 20 minutes in between people showering for water to drain. Carpet in room was dirty and needed cleaning. A few cockroaches found in room as well. Shampoo/conditioner were nice and liked that they were provided. We did feel safe, but room needed some basic maintenance/cleaning

This is a charming hotel near the best sites in the historic heart of town. We had a large room in a courtyard. It was quiet and the king size bed was great. The bathroom had a huge shower. I particularly liked the staff. The manager, Perla, speaks excellent English and she helped us with navigating the city and seeing the sites. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and the honor bar. We had to leave at three in the morning and a staff member was there to help us with our bags. I would stay here again.

Room #6 had steps up and down inside which made it a bit difficult for older folks like us. Probably could have asked for a different room but did not. Overall a good visit, giving it a 7-8 rating overall. Street walking quite difficult with narrow sidewalks.

We have loved this place for over a decade but sadly after this last stay we will not be returning. We stayed here three nights. Our hot water wasn’t working. We told them two days in a row, they said they’d have someone look at it but it was never fixed. Also, the beds are rock hard - like no give at all. The staff wasn’t as friendly as they have been in the past. Overall, really bummed how it went.
They’ve cut back on what’s included in the breakfast but at least they still had a full breakfast menu you can pay for.

We stayed at La Casa del Atrio for just one night before heading to the airport for our trip to Mérida, and it completely exceeded our expectations. This place is absolutely charming, full of character and surprises. It used to be an antique or design store, and the unique furnishings and art throughout the property reflect that history beautifully. There’s even a little shop on-site filled with cool, vibey collectibles that add to the experience.

Although we didn’t have time to enjoy the spa, we loved knowing it was available, and the concierge gave us a fantastic dinner recommendation that ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip.

The location is perfect—right in the heart of the action. We loved strolling around the historic center at night and felt very safe and comfortable, even walking to the aqueduct after dark.

The next morning, we had breakfast at their beautiful on-site restaurant, and it was healthy, flavorful, and memorable. Even though it was a short stay, it left a lasting impression. Highly recommend this gem if you're passing through Querétaro!

The staff was kind and accommodating. The hotel itself is lovely and charming and we loved the very high ceilinged rooms. It was difficult to cool it down (took most of the day) but the biggest issue was the shower: it took 10 minutes for the hot water to get hot for me and it stopped being hot after 15 minutes. We waited for at least 5 hours until my friend showered but it *never* got hot for her. And the square-shaped rain shower only put water out of about 1/3 of it's available holes.
Other than the shower, we loved this place.

I have now stayed at the Atrio three times in the past 5 years. This was my first visit since Jan 2020 (just before the pandemic). The people, the location, and the service is outstanding (as always). I would stay here again for just those reasons. I do feel the this hotel might have suffered economically during the COVID years. The rooms are getting just a bit dated.

The staff is amazing. The are helpful, knowledgeable of the area, and very pleasant. The hotel is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. We didn't have time to take advantage of the spa... next time. The amenities were great with an ice machine, water, and snacks (you pay for) available 24/7. There is a cool museum and church across the street, a good restaurant next door, and a coffee shop across the street. Ours was an overnight stay, but we enjoyed it.

Pricier than it should have been.

The hotel was a little shabbier than I expected, but clean. At first, I was assigned a room right off the reception area with absolutely no sound insulation and no windows. I asked to be moved, and they gave me a much quieter room, but smaller and not as nice. I had to ask for a chair for the desk, there was only one drawer to put cloths, and the fan was old and noisy. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast, off a menu, was good. All and all, the price was a tad high for what I got.

Best Boutique Hotel in Querétaro

This quaint hotel is exactly what you want when you visit the historic center of a town or city in the central highlands of Mexico. It perfectly reflects the culture and history of the region. But the best thing about this hotel is the people who work there. If you can find friendlier, more helpful people, I would like to know where. While in Querétaro, we spent five nights in a boutique hotel, La Casa del Atrio. We had read some exceptionally positive reviews of the hotel and decided to try it. It exceeded all expectations. Located in historic center, it is precisely where you want to be if you would like to gain a glimpse of Mexico’s colonial past. The hotel is small, with only seventeen rooms. But what it lacks in size it more than makes up in genial service and colonial charm. The people who work here are some of the friendliest and most accommodating people my wife and I have ever encountered. All twelve staff members will move mountains from your path if you simply ask, and sometimes even before you ask. The price of a room is quite reasonable, especially since it comes with a complimentary breakfast that is quite simply outstanding. You will have your choice of fresh fruit, juice, a variety of eggs, bacon or ham, French toast, and a pot of coffee. You will be properly fortified for the day’s activities, whatever they may be. The hotel also has a spa. The rooms are cozy and the shower is the best in the western hemisphere. We strongly recommend this hotel. There are absolutely no downsides. This establishment gets our very highest endorsement.

Very unique and pleasant stay in Centro! My wife and I enjoyed the spa for a day (massages), as well as the unique decision and \"feel\" that this boutique hotel offers. The master suite is spacious, the bed was great, and the shower was also awesome. The included breakfast we enjoyed each morning was delicious!!

La Casa de Maria y Bernardo is a real Mexican hacienda, with former cornfields converted to vineyards producing the grapes for their own excellent wines.

It really is their house, with a number of separated bungalows for guests. Everything about the experience was superb. Highly recommended.

Breakfast each morning was wonderful. Don't skip the chilaquiles. The front desk staff was attentive and extremely helpful, as was housekeeping and the spa staff (and Bruno, of course!). The massage therapist's were amazing. We ran in to Gabriel at one of the tienda's later on and he recommended we buy a bottle of Agua de Lourdes (so good!) many great spots to check out. There was typically at least one person on staff who spoke english but even when there were language barriers, everyone was super kind! The layout and architecture is stunning. Unlike any boutique hotel we've stayed in before. Your first time to Mexico can be intimidating, but Casa del Atrio

This is a very cute hotel in a great location. Wonder and helpful staff. Great breakfast. It has beautiful courtyards to relax. Very quiet considering the central location. I only had a few issues. Our room was dark and had no view since the windows are frosted. But I was told there were other room that had more light. The air conditioning was not working the first night, but that was promptly fixed the next day. Overall this is a very nice hotel and we would stay here again the next time we are in Querétaro.

Excellent Stay and Service Beyond Expectations!!!

We stayed in a Master Suite, which was very spacious and we never had issues with room temperatures . The bed was extremely comfortable and much larger than a normal king size bed. The oversized shower had multiple shower heads and we always had hot water (best hotels towels we’ve ever used!). The included breakfast had many great options and was delicious. The hotel concierge arranged for airport drivers and a driver to Guanajuato, all which were friendly and courteous. The location of the hotel is fabulous, close to many squares and great restaurants in easy walking distance - try the Oaxaca restaurant next door!

Now here is where the hotel staff went beyond their duties. The morning we checked out and the driver left us at the airport, my husband realized he left his iPhone in the drivers car - after we were fully checked into the airport, so no getting out. We called the hotel, who contacted the driver and he found my husbands phone and returned it to the hotel. The staff then worked to ship the phone back to us, which wasn’t easy since it was international shipping and the shipping companies considered it a used iPhone (insurance), plus this was over the holidays. My husbands phone arrived today in perfect working condition and we cannot express our gratitude enough!!

We loved our stay at La Casa del Atrio. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The various gardens and courtyards were beautiful. However, their breakfast has been by far the best we have had in a hotel - very authentic variety and delicious. We are looking forward to visiting again. One thing to forewarn others is that their rooms are part of a building dating to late 1700’s so insulating outside noises and vice versa is not possible. But definitely a must visit place.
