It’s the most rundown motel I’ve ever seen I can’t lie I’m not quite sure how it’s still in business.

I spent one night at the American Plaza Motel, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The room was not clean, and there was no toilet paper or towel in the bathroom when I arrived. After informing the front desk, they provided them, but this should have been prepared in advance.
There was no kettle or microwave in the room, and the TV wasn’t connected to the internet. The room also didn’t have a thermostat, and it was uncomfortably warm, so I had to open the door several times just to cool it down.
To make things worse, around midnight, guests in a nearby room started shouting loudly for about an hour, and I couldn’t sleep afterward.
Overall, I do not recommend this motel to anyone.

Thus is the first hotel room where I could not find TV connected, bedlight socket not there no iron to iron my clothes, no water to drink, towels were dirty. I will never recommend. Better return my money. I did not attend my conference and left the hotel early morning to go home.

This hotel is not up to standard. The photos online are completely misleading — the place looks nothing like what was advertised.
When I asked for a refund because of the false presentation, the staff refused and offered no help. The experience felt dishonest and unprofessional.
I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. Save your money and choose a place that actually delivers what it promises.

I was very taken back by how the staff was when I went to check in. There was another customer in front of me and asked for the wifi password and when they left, the front desk lady walked away after looking at me at the counter. I then had to open the door and ring the buzzer to get her attention and she said \"what the hell is his problem now\" and then took another 5 minutes to come to counter to let me check in. She tried to even get me to pay again when I had pre paid. The room was clean but I didn't feel like it would have met standards. The shower curtain had a lot of stains that looked pretty questionable and looked like blood. The shower had looked like it wasn't cleaned fully. The bathroom lights were missing two of the three that were in there. The bedside light looked like it was one string away from falling off, also didn't work. The inside door had looked like someone took a hammer to it multiple times. And another thing to add to the staff, when I went to check out, I pressed the buzzer to be let in and I saw the front desk lady roll her eyes at me, and when I handed her the key and said \"I'm here to check out\" she tried to make me pay yet again.

I'm not one to leave bad or long reviews but after my experience, I wouldn't want anyone to have a similar experiences as I had felt very unwelcome, unsafe and just overall unpleasant.

The man who checked me in was very nice. I hope he can find somewhere else to work, because he was the only good thing about this location. Everything else was horrible. If I had a choice to stay somewhere else I would have, but short notice left this as the only option that wasn't miles outside the city.

We tried three times to get into our room. No one working in locked owffice. When we came back a woman yelled at me for ringing the buzzard that said to ring. She was rude. We never stayed. We asked for owners number. He called me back and said he would cancel our reservation. The area was in poor shape. Didn't even want to see what rooms looked like

No towels in bathroom. Cushion missing from sofa. phone jack pull ed off wall, laying on the floor. bathroom heater didn't appear to work. Only a 1/4 inch of toilet paper left in bathroom. I had to contact expedia to get any service for check-in. No one was present to check out.
The bed was comfortable. No wi-fi password given.

Complete scam room was stinky and run down not even close to the pictures online i am going to ask for a refund. The floor was missing potato size chunks the walls looked like someone had been hitting it with a hammer the room stank like old cigarettes and body odor, the top lid to the toilet was sitting on the bathroom counter. Horrible

The staff were friendly and helpful. There was several areas where attention to detail was needed. There were MANY bugs inside the ceiling light globes; the baseboards were seriously stained with moisture (?) or some sort of brown colour; towels looked like stained rags; and there was a lot of noise/music in parking area.

This hotel is a prime example of getting what you pay for. It's one of the cheapest places to stay in London, Ontario, and for good reason. While it might look visually clean from afar, the devil is in the details. The heavy blanket in my room appeared to have been untouched by a washing machine for years, emanating a distinct odor reminiscent of wet dog. However, considering it was just a one-night stay, I opted not to dwell on it too much. If you're looking for budget accommodation and aren't too picky about cleanliness, this place might suffice for a short stay.

Pros ; we got there pretty late and i made a reservation online with my CC before going so check in was a breeze. The man at the front desk who helped check us in was super friendly and easy going. My friend that stayed the night reported to me that the bed was very comfortable , and that the wifi worked so he was able to watch shows and stuff on his phone. He said he had stayed in much worse lol
They also advertise check out as being from 11 to 1pm which is really awesome and my friend really appreciated having that extra time to hangout in the morning and have a slower start to the day

Cons; he said there wasnt any toilet paper in the room [luckily he used his own] hes just too nice to complain about anything .. he also had said when he got to the room that the room wasnt the room advertised in the photos that we had booked from... i had told him to go ask if he could stay in the room we had thought we were booking based on their photos and he said \"he didnt want to be a bother or be rude\" again hes just way too nice to ever complain or seem ungrateful

All in all ; it was my friend who stayed and he was happy with the experience overall.

The website is nowhere close to reality. The place is very run down. There seems to be no effort to make very necessary repairs nor is there any evidence of the rooms being cleaned regularly. The night of our stay we were treated to a police visit to some sketchy neighbours and a 4:00 AM domestic dispute in the parking lot. I was literally afraid to go to sleep and should really have given up on the room and gone somewhere safe. This place should not be allowed to be on any room booking site.

Very dirty rooms, bedbugs are in every corner of the mattress, they have microwave, but it is not working so why put it in the room if you can't even use it? Is it for display only? lampshades are not working as well. Customer service is very poor. No wonder no one likes to stay in this place.

The motel looked like it was rented monthly to junky’s. It was full but only 3 cars in the parking lot. Screaming people and fighting during the night and not only in one room. I thought about calling the police

I booked this hotel online, never saw it before. I drove up to the office, the host greeted me, showed me a room, it looked decent, but had a window facing Dundas street, and it was noisy. Smelled musty also.
The parking lot was empty, there were a bunch of kids running around, playing, which doesn't bother me. The two people smoking a small glass pipe set off a few bells. There were piles of garbage piled up at the front of the parking lot also. And a bunch of stuff spread out all over the place. It wasn't a good look.

Handymen special. Electrical outlet beside bed don't work for lighting and CPAP machine. Microwave is not connected as outlet is hidden. Bathroom switch outlet cover is broken with big hole. Bathroom door knob is totally lose to point of falling off. Sink faucet control is reversed. TV remote would work after switching TV on. Ended up unplugging TV for sleep.

The bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There was a discarded plastic guard from someone's razor in the shower with stubble. Gross.

One of the bedside lamps didn't work - and it wasn't just a lightbulb change (tried that). It was broken.

The pillows were awful - huge and fat that didn't compress at all. Very uncomfortable.

Would not recommend or stay again. You get what you pay for.

There were literal bedbugs crawling on the sheets. I felt so uncomfortable. I ended up removing the sheets and sleeping on my own blanket. The mattress was disgusting to say the least. There were random condom rappers in the drawer next to the bed. My stay was terrible to say the least.

The people at the front desk were wonderful. Everything else was terrible. For the total price of $140 CAD, not worth the minimal savings. Very uncomfortable beds, no heat control, tv didnt work. 1 pillow per bed, I was there with my family of 4. We had to use sweaters for pillows. Bed pushed right against window. Didnt feel safe.

No one mans the front desk, so have to call and wait. No soap, shampoo, 1/2 roll toilet paper, no coffee pot or glasses. Fridge inside cabinet. Curtain rod fell on my head when trying to have a shower. Bathroom counter and towel rack was so high at 5'5' I couldn't hang up the towel. TV watching was by which channel wasn't blurry enough to NOT see, pretty much only listened to tv. will never go back

Our room was dirty when we arrived. Used towels and cups all over the room. Used soap on the sink. Bed half made. Pile of towels on the chair had stains. The grounds were dirty. Cups and garbage outside some rooms. Did not feel safe. Realized when we booked it, it would be basic but did not expect it to be dirty. They did give us our money back. Had to drive home and miss our event the next day as the whole town was sold out. Very disappointing.

I did not like the fact that room had a broken jacuzzi. We were given 1 half roll of toilet paper the remote for the tv didnt work as it should. The mattress and pillows was full of yellow stains and burn holes.
We had one towelwas not given the shampoo/conditioner. The sink in the washroom wasnt cleaned and the toilet had yellow all around the seat

When we arrived the office door was locked and had a sign \"go to room 6\" no one was there. went back to office and knocked someone came out and was extremely nice
The room was ice cold. Thermostat was on lowest setting took 1.5 hours before we could remove coats. Smoke alarm was on the table, no batteries in it. The tv turned on but could not use as the remote had no batteries. The toilet wouldn't flush. The toilet seat had pee on it. And as I was cleaning it I realized that the bathroom window was wide open. No wonder it was cold.in the room. Went to bed around 10:30 and someone starting scrapping ice off the walkway Duh.
just after 11 one of the neighbors starting playing music.
We were so tired we did sleep but the bed was dipped in the center as my wife and I kept rolling toward the middle. nothing was major but for $93 dollars they could have made an effort. Went to tell lady when we left but I don't think she was even awake when she took the keys.
