Reception desk with sign stating no on-premise assistance between 11:00 pm and 8:00 am.Place chosen for proximity to venue. Check in took so long, we were running late for our event. We took the card keys and went to our event without going to the room. Returned after 11:00 pm to find the room uninhabitable. Despite the 12\"×4\" strip of ripped up carpet, the mini kitchen cabinet doors hanging diagonally and the gaping drywall absent in the bathroom, the real concern was the bed/bedding. Or lack of it as there was only a sheet set and one pillow on the queen bed. The bottom center of the sheets had a large spill stain. Pulling the top sheet back revealed addition brown stains of various shades and sizes. Further inspection showed evidence of bed bugs (poop). Photos taken along the way. Needless to say, we did not stay. Forced to drive home since we had wasted money here...and there was no one to assist. 1 star was too generous. Go anywhere else. Beware!

I’m definitely not hard to please but this place is nasty. Gentleman checking me in was a very nice guy. The room was scary. The hallway was nasty. Paint filled on the floor. It stunk it is old walls are chipped doors are chipped. Very scary. I would give this a -5 stars. I will be back in Raleigh next week and they definitely will not go near this place. Yes, as you can tell by my review, I was not happy at all.

There is a young lady who works at the front desk who has a beautiful attitude and great customer service. She’s very professional and personable. On 12/21/25 before 1pm local time, I checked out of my room. My initial paid thru date is 12/22/25. It seems that I’ve been charged for a day that was not completed.

Non-smoking?? Corridor and room smelled like cigarettes and vapes. Only sheets on beds; no blankets. Asked for blankets and had to beg for them. Btw, temp outside was 15-degrees. No microwave. Lighting very very dim. Needed to use the sofa hide-a-bed. It was filthy. Where do I stop? At least it was a place where we could close our eyes at night between \"knock-n-run\" at night and police called on site. At checking and out the lady at front desk was friendly, though.

Nowhere does it state that the office closes at midnight. We arrived at 12:01 after a flight delay. Office was locked. There was a sign outside to use the phone in a box to contact the office but there was no phone. I called the office from my phone and just got hold music. Texted the number and two days later still have not heard back. No refunds available.

Beggers can't be choosy but coming from someone who has been in the military, this was one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed at. Let management know about the cleanliness of the room and they seemed shock. Sent somebody to clean the bathroom and they even apologized. Provided me with some new bedding and it was even dirty. I left in the middle of the night.

TOTAL ROACH MOTEL. DOZENS OF ROACHES RUNNING EVERYWHERE! Staff refused to move our rooms.

NO working smoke detectors.
The room smelled awful. We could not stay here and had to leave. The place should be shut down by the Health Department.

This is the most disgusting, unsafe, unclean motel I have ever stayed in. There was a roach infestation in multiple rooms. We were moved rooms, and the second room had EVEN MORE ROACHES. Dozens of roaches running around everywhere...on the beds, on the couch, on the walls, in the bathroom, in the shower.
The sheets were stained, and had holes and burn marks from cigarettes.
The entire room smelled like smoke.
The carpet was stained throughout. The bathroom linoleum was peeling up, so it was unsafe to even walk in the bathroom, and roaches would run out from under the curled flooring.
The bathroom door did not even shut, nor lock, and gaped open more than an inch because someone apparently had forced it open with a crowbar (or other tool), breaking the door frame.
The smoke detector had been ripped off the wall, so there was no smoke detector whatsoever.
Multiple people appeared to be living in the motel parking lot.
Both doors on the basement floor, which opened to the street-level parking lot, were permanently propped open because the locking mechanism had been ripped off the doors, which prevented them from locking or even closing.
There were exposed wires, where lights had been dismantled, which could easily electrocute guests.
This motel should be razed and condemned. It is an abomination.

Where shall I begin? The pictures online must’ve been from years ago when it was under a different property name. When we arrived late in the evening, there was no one in the front and no way to call attention to anyone (ie, bell). When someone finally came in about
10 min later from outside she smelled like marijuana. They couldn’t find our reservation even though it was already paid in full. She tried to get a hold of upper management, but they never got back to her. She was also taking personal phone calls while trying to find a room that I already selected ahead of time and paid for. This whole check-in process took at least 40 minutes.

When we got into the room, it reeked of smoke. It was definitely rundown.

-Dust and grime on top of the fridge
-Fridge inside wasn’t wiped down
-Burn mark on the floor
-Hole in the wall from where a stove once was that wasn’t covered
-Carpet remnant on a wall corner was sticking out including a piece of metal that’s used to secure it
-Padding cover underneath chair was coming out and just hanging out
-Security latch to door was broken
-Rusty shower curtain rod
-Bathtub sealant was moldy
-Some of the linen was stained
-From the outside, overflowing trash, cigarette butts everywhere
-Shrubs and landscaping not maintained

I’m surprised that this is on Expedia’s list of hotel options. I should’ve really done my
homework and checked the reviews. Shame on me…it won’t happen again.

This has been one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. I booked through Expedia and had a confirmed reservation, but upon arrival after an 8-hour drive, the front desk informed me it was canceled—which was not true. I was then asked to pay more, only to be given a dirty room with roaches and unclean towels, later switched to another poor room. The whole process took 1.5 hours late at night, and I’m still unsure who will refund the extra amount I paid

Not what me and my wife expected!!!
When we got to place they said they didn’t have keys to get to the room so someone had to walk us to our room. They barely turned on the ac when we went to the room. Room was hot bet was a twin not a queen. One towel for one family one used toilet paper and other rolls are available or there in the room. Couch and bed smelled like urine the tv only had one thing on displayed can’t use tv. Refrigerator was hot like if it wasn’t turned on for days. Front door was always locked someone had to let you in or you have to call them to let you in. I’ve been up and around Nc but this place was not for my family my wife and kids were really hot they legit had to stand in front of the ac did NOT LOOK LIKE IN THE PICTURE AT ALL needs better cleaning and ac needs to be on when you have visitors staying in

Health hazard hotel.

Mold, and filthy smell as you enter the corridor. The AC is spoofing dust and hotels.com advertised about stove, refrigerator and none existed in the room. Is not the health department review this hotel yet and I wonder why it is allowed to be open. Seriously this building is health risk. I had booked for theee nights but checked out the next day early morning but they never refunded me one full night refund despite me giving notice I had chase down the front desk staff even at 8:40am.

The property is in poor condition.The front door appears to be broken as it will not lock, causing a security concern. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the overflowing trash can beside the front door which looked as if it had not been emptied in a few days. The front desk attendant, April, was very rude. I was told that she didn't have my reservation, yet when I looked over the top of the desk I was able to spot my name immediately. The Delux room that I had reserved and pre-paid was not available. No mention of any type of refund. I asked for 2 keys, she rudely told me she didn't have enough keys and only gave me 1. I went to the room assigned. Upon opening the door I was blasted with the smell of cat urine. I returned to the desk, April was not very helpful. Luckily a gentleman was there, apologized he found another room which he took me to see before I accepted. It smelled better although the floor was dirty as if it had not been vaccumed. When we made it back to the front desk, April was no where to be seen. She had already left. I can not recommend this location.

Not so good. No soap, no tissues, no hand towels and no wash cloths. Toilet was loose on the floor. Bed sheets had dirty stains. Old worn sofa. Waste baskets were hidden in cabinets under counters. The air was stale inside. Pillows were flat. I’ve stayed in accommodations all over the USA and the world. This was a bare-bones room like I’ve never seen before. The lobby was small and reservations were on a handwritten sheet of paper, not on a computer. It’s 2025 for goodness sake!

You get what you pay for!

The place is currently being renovated but I doubt it will help. The place is filthy. No dumpster for all their trash and it’s just dumped outside. The bathroom toilet was a pain to flush. We had to go to the front desk (which is currently in the employee area) to fill up our own toilet paper. Bring your own bedding!!!! Thankfully our trip was packed with activities so we weren’t there much.

The most DISGUSTING hotel you will ever step into. Roaches and bugs everywhere, stained sheets, stained mattresses… we walked in and immediately walked right back out. Had to book a new hotel 45min away at 1am after traveling all day.

The front lobby was under construction but it was poorly roped off. No one was up front when I arrived. I couldn’t find anyone to check us on. I had to call the hotel for someone to come check me in, only to be greeted by a gentleman wearing a plain white shirt and sagging pants. He had nothing on to even signify he was an employee. He was able to get us checked in but our room was disgusting. Had we not been exhausted, we would have refused. The room smelled like cat urine. The carpet had numerous large stains and gum stuck in it in several spots. The refrigerator door would not stay closed. There was dirt piled up on the floor around the side of the couch. All of the cabinetry in the bathroom was water damaged and falling apart. The towel rack was hanging down with random screws sporadically placed to keep it up.

Front desk abandoned during snowstorm

We attempted to stay here during the Cary snowstorm of 2025. Upon arriving at the property, we met another couple who had been ghosted by the front desk person who had fled due to the snow. Calls to corporate were unfruitful and we even called the Cary police for help. Ultimately, we went elsewhere for our stay and when we called the following day to inquire what happened, the front desk person was VERY defensive. I would encourage you not to stay here, rain or shine -- they do NOT deliver. Pay a little more to go somewhere else; you won't regret it.

The rooms were disgusting, there was roaches in the kitchen, large stains all over the pillows and bed and there was no breakfast put out in the mornings (not that it would have been safe to eat). Disgusting and disappointing! Also within 10 mins of being in our first room a mirror fall that wasn’t properly mounted fell off the wall and broke while a child was in the room. The lady was nice enough to get us a new room which was more dirty than the first one unfortunately!

Once you got into the building, the old hotel smelling hits your nose to welcome your arrival. At the check in , staff mention the breakfast will be at the table behind where you standing. I asked what will be for breakfast? The staff answered... Greeds oatmeal gonola bar.
No hair dryer in my room, I talked to the staff, was sliding her phone Rarely raise her head to look me while our conversation. She wanted me come back to get the hair dryer later. At the end, I didn't get one , due to she can't find any hair dryers. It was a pain for my family, when we can't wash our hair because can't stand in wet hair to sleep, so we hated not have cleaned hair for the night and next day.
We have a sofa bed for one of my family, when I left up the sofa bed handle, immediately saw the dirty bed and mold on the mattress, that explains the smell came from. I should asking for change room, but I didn't. For the price, and only one night, I only asked bed sheets. I really should asked for changing room.
Next morning at 8am, there was no one at desk, only a note says using the outside phone to call #0. There was no one answer that calling for 5 minutes. I can't check out while I was late for our schedule. 8:45, a housekeeper saw me, but isn't her job to check out for me, she left a note for me to prove. No breakfast shows on the table. Terrible experience.

I booked two Extended Stay America Suites Raleigh Cary for 2 nights for my family that includes 2 kids and a pregnant wife. When I went into one of the rooms, I noticed the room is bug infested with cockroaches and the beds had mold and in horrible condition. I asked the hotel receptionist that this is a health and hygiene issue and they should cancel and refund. She said they cannot cancel. I told her that I will take some photos and videos to show her how bad it is. By the time I came back, the manager called cops on us and blocked us from entering the other room that we booked (we booked 2 suites).
When the cops came, I showed them the pictures and they asked me to reach out to the Extended Suites higher management, which I am hoping this review will do. This was a horrible and traumatizing experience to me and my family and we are still recovering from it.

When we first arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We waited about 20 minutes, and no one showed up. We used the call box outside to call the hotel and were told by someone offsite that they could not help us and just to wait for someone to show up. Finally, the front desk attendant arrived with some fast food she had left to obtain. Not totally her fault as she should have had backup. The whole place smelled like weed. We killed three roaches within the first five minutes in our room. The shower/tub had black stains in it and we decided to go without showering as it would likely make us dirtier. We left for a show and came back. None of our cards worked on the front door, and we had to use the callbox again to find someone to let us in. We were told (for the first time) that we had to enter through a side door. We went upstairs and none of our keys worked on the door the first 3 or four times. One finally worked, but the others didn't. A few of us slept on top of the covers in fear of bed bugs. The carpet was heavily stained and none of us removed our socks the whole time we were there. I will say all three of the staff members we encountered were extremely pleasant, friendly, sweet and helpful. Not their fault that the place is kind of a dump. Most definitely would not stay here again. Felt nasty and somewhat unsafe.

This place was awful. I stayed at the location on Harrison ave in Cary NC which is a relatively upscale area. The whole hotel smelled of mildew. The door locks didn't work, there was a large hole in the carpet, the cabinets in the kitchen area were literally falling apart and the stove was rusty and looked to be older than the building. The sheets seemed dingy and there wasn't a trash can in the room at all. Just the worst hotel I've stayed in.

From the time I \"TRIED\" to check in until I left was not a good experience. I checked in at the lobby and went to get my family. I went to the FIRST room and the door wouldn't open. The lady at the desk tells me the battery for the door is messing up and she's not going to put batteries in it. She changed me to a \"SECOND\" room on the third floor. Keep in mind NO elevator in the hotel. We walk up to the THIRD floor to the room. We get in the room and the room is a complete mess. I mean it had not been cleaned or anything! I go down to the lobby and she tells me that they don't have housekeeping like that. That's not my problem! So she moves us to a \"THIRD\" room on the second floor. We get in this room and the floor is filthy and the kitchen area is not cleaned. We managed through the night and we headed out first thing this morning. This is by far the worst experience ever. The lady at the desk should've offered something instead she just smirked and laughed and kept moving me. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Rm I booked, A/C didn’t work. EVERYTHING was disgusting. Holes in walls everywhere in room. Towels were dingy and stringy. Furniture had bottoms hang down. The stairs, which is only way to be get to other floors didn’t even have signs where there were, which would’ve been great help bc they stopped and started elsewhere at each floor. Outside was just as bad, trash everywhere and grass and weeds tall and not kept up.

Families living at hotel as well. Kids running and screaming down halls all hours of night, tv’s on max volume all night and dogs barking all night, people screaming at each other all night too.

I’d never stay there again. I moved to a better hotel next night.

The room was spacious enough but not as clean as I would have liked. There were two microwave ovens, one of which was unplugged and thus unnecessary. The cabinets were subpar with visible screws exposed. The toilet was tilted at an angle with shims visible and sticking out towards the side of the tilt so they were completely ineffective. When I walked on the laminate flooring barefoot, they were sticky. The carpet in the hallways was dirty and worn. I understand now why it was so cheap.

1)The room was smoky, carpet stained, microwave dirty, another wall microwave was broken and could not be closed so the light remained on all night, table and sofa was \"sticky\" in parts, food remnants when sofa bed was opened, found roaches.
Asked for a change and was told all rooms were about the same and was told that this property is independently owned and not part of corporate ESA.
2) No breakfast both days as mentioned on the website
3) Sofa bed had no sheets. Upon request, the attendant brought two thin sheets and no blanket and said they had no more!
4) No pots/pans, or even paper cups. No water fountain filtered water in lobby or premise.

Once again, this property is independently owned and does not meet the standards of ESA.

I request a partial refund.

Entrance door propped open with what i think was a broom. Rooms are dirty had to change rooms because TV wasn't working. There were bugs in bathroom as well as the tile coming off the floor the stove was on not sure when or how long it had been on. Smelll in rooms alone with water from toliet mold in bathroom. Pictures on site are nothing like the actual room. I will not be using them again this is the second time and I was not happy.

Garbage everywhere. Disgusting rooms. Urine all over the mattress and box spring. Well worn wouldn’t be a fair enough of a description. I’d say this hotel is similar to a landfill on fire burning 24/7. This place need to be demolished and turned into something useful.

Not perfect but acceptable

The room was as clean as I feel it possibly could have been. The building itself is an old building and in desperate need of a facelift. The carpet was badly stained and even thought it is not a no smoking hotel you can smell that it hasn't always been that way. But, the sheets, the bathroom, and the kitchenette was clean and there was no sign of bugs, which I have experienced at other hotels in the area. The receptionist allowed us to look at the room before authorizing our payment and was very nice.

Small things that make a difference

When me and my friend got into the lobby of the hotel as soon as we opened the door we smelled something that resembled cigarettes smoke, humidity or mold. It was the first thing we noticed upon entering the facility; same reaction we had when walking down the hallway to our room.
Also, that stay included free breakfast which was non-existent at 6:47 AM. There was coffee that made the impossible of being used over and over only because of the clarity of the product; not worth the try to sip it. The morning front desk attendant offered no explanation for the coffee condition or for not having the advertise breakfast options available.
The night before we asked the front desk clerk for a phone charge box and she looked for one and let us borrow it for few hours which we are grateful for.

When we first arrived, the entire second floor smelled like weed. Our room was not clean - there was even a broom poking out from under the bed showing the room had not been finished being cleaned. There was water leaking behind the toilet and bugs in the bathroom. The hotel is unsafe. We made sure to lock/close doors and windows before bed around 11. We were woken up to a noise by the window at 2:30 am and found the window was partially opened from the outside since the 2nd floor is low to the ground. We were scared thinking someone was trying to break in and left immediately. As we were leaving, the key card entry front door in the lobby was propped open to allow anyone inside. The worker behind the counter had no regard for us leaving in a hurry and did not question why we were screaming in the middle of the night.

Our room was not cleaned. The only thing that appeared to be cleaned was the bed Linens. upon our arrival, the room smelled.
Carpet was dirty. There were stains on the wall that was either ink Or blood?
We found a completely full trash can in a cabinet. And there were bugs, gnats and roaches everywhere.

The staff was friendly, though, and it did feel safe.. Just very nasty.

Unable to use pull out couch

We got a room with 2 double beds and a pull out couch to be able to accommodate 2 adults and 3 kids. When we pulled out the couch it was stained and filthy. Because we had a late check in office was closed and nothing could be done. We currently have 3 kids in a double bed. My impression from when we booked was that the room would be more modern but things seem run down. It also smells like smoke outside even though there are tons of signs that say not to smoke. Just not what we expected.

Terrible is a compliment for this establishment. I love extended stay but from the time my family and I arrived the experience was God Awful. Lets start with how the staff had us waiting in the lobby for oh lets say 15 min. My husband had to go find her. It was late and after a long flight having my husband find the staff was not part of the plan. She finally shows up and we are checked on the 3rd floor with no elevator, two bags, and a 5 year old. As soon as we get to the stairs the smell of smoke assaults you. Now I'm instantly sick to my smoking but it's late so where am I going to go?? We press on, and reach our room. We open the the door and we have the warmest welcome from a family of roaches!!! The room wasn't clean but the beds were made. The floors were filthy so we kept our socks on. We had no was cloths only towels and anytime we needed something we had to go down three flights of stairs. For the price we paid I expected better from Extended Stay.

At 3:40pm the front desk wasnt there. We had to go back outside and call on an outdoor provided phone. There werent any elevators and our room was on the 3rd floor. It says no smoking however every floor snelled strongly of pot. Our bathroom still had trash in it from a previous guest. The sink drain was broken and the toilet wasnt attached to the floor and it wobbled awful. Not sure wgat ut was but there was a thick white film in the tub. I killed 2 cockroachs in the kitchen area. Stains on all furniture, walls and ceiling. A bunch of cuss words were written by one of the beds. I wasnt able to sleep all night because of the filth. When i told the front desk after having to call her again she just said she'd tell maintenance and the manager. No breakfast or coffee provided, not that we wouldve earen it. Lastly for ice we were told they dont have an ice maker but provided were ice trays in the freezer, eewww. I expected more for paying $143 for one night.

This place needs to be shut down, the room smelled like cat urine, the bed had cracker crumbs and pieces in it, the receptionist was too busy making out with her boyfriend in the parking lot to deal with customers. Overall this was hands down the worst experience I've had with any hotel.

Hotel needs updating

Room and hotel in general needs updating. Carpet had a hole in it. Desk chair was stained. Transition between carpet and kitchen floor was loose. Bathroom fan had dust or mold clogging it. Plaster near tub damaged by water. Room rate was cheap and you could see why. Bed was comfortable though. Was fine for one night stay while in town for hockey game and museum visit.
