Great stay near Sorrento
Nice hotel in a beautiful setting outside of Sorrento. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice room overlooking the pool and with the sea in the distance. Great breakfast included. There is a restaurant in the hotel but it is a very short walk (10 minutes) to a nearby hill town with a variety of restaurant options. Nice pool (although not heated). On-site parking was available.

One of the best views . The view of Naples Bay is incredible. Perched on the hillside gives one a wonderful view . The staff were great . They sent the shuttle for outside the schedule.would definitely recommend . The Expresso Martini at the bar is sublime.

We would go back for sure - the view from our balcony amazing. The food is the only negative but im also not a fan of european food. The hotel is about a 15 min ride up a winding road so be sure you aren't someone who gets car sick. But once at hotel it's truly beautiful.

This is a special hotel , staff can’t do enough for you . Is outside of Sorrento on hill however hotel provides shuttle bus and bus stop just outside hotel, never struggled with getting around Fantastic village sant Agata 10 minute walk from hotel bars with restaurants and Orlando must visit . . Manage to do Capri, Positano, Pompei and Sorrento all from this location . Only negative for me was bed too hard .

We stayed at the villas, the facility is very old, dont have elevator, matress and pillows are not good, rooms are very clean and breakfast is really good a lot to choose bur if you stay longer be prepared to eat the same, there is space for parking and they have shuttle to Sorrento, the staff was not so friendly but in overall is ok

We had the most wonderful stay here and already looking forward to returning here one day. The staff was so friendly and accommodating with anything we needed. The hotel has a breathtaking view overlooking Sorrento and the bay of Naples. It is an easy walk up to Sant’ Agata, a small local town with wonderful shops and restaurants. The hotel offers an easy shuttle service down to Sorrento. Originally I was nervous booking a hotel further outside of Sorrento city center, worried getting into Sorrento may be difficult, but I am so thankful we did. I loved that we dined with locals every night in the small town rather than feeling overwhelmed by large tourist crowds. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Sorrento area.

We had a great stay in the Villa Romita portion of the hotel. I enjoyed walking the path lined with rosemary, lavender and olive trees down to the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and greeted us by name as we entered the hotel. Anytime we needed assistance they were able to help us and did so with a smile. The breakfast had a wide selection of options which met both mine and my husband’s needs. We definitely utilized the free shuttle bus into Sorrento which was easy to locate and schedule with the front desk. The view from the pool was incredible; the pool itself was nice and refreshing. Our room was cool after hours in the hot sun and it was always clean. We were able to enjoy a late afternoon drink on our balcony overlooking Sorrento, normally with a nice breeze. We liked the quietness of the location but enjoyed the proximity to Sorrento and its port. We would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day stay at Grand Hotel Hermitage. We were met at the hotel entrance by Renato, hotel manager. He made us feel right at home. All the staff are so helpful. The room over looking the Naples Bay is amazing. Nice pool. Very good dining options. We also booked an Amalfi boat tour through the hotel. We met one couple from England that told us they have been coming this hotel 20 years in a row!

Our stay here was fantastic. The staff are incredible. Helpful and kind, nothing is too much, and always had time for you. The location is out of town, however they run a free shuttle bus in and out of Sorrento pretty much all day everyday on the hour, so it's not an issue. There is a lovely little village called St Agata, 5 min walk away, with restaurants and shops. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the breakfast is very good, plentiful and lots of choice. I don't normally eat breakfast but I def recommend this. Our room had everything we would need, a little dated but very clean. The pool area was clean and plenty of sunbeds, towels provided. Food and drink available all day. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Grand Hermitage Hotel was the definitely the perfect choice for us. The hotel decor is a bit dated as you can clearly see in the photos but the rooms are kept pretty clean and the view from the room was outstanding. I would choose this hotel for that view over and over again.

Overall a great hotel. It’s 25 minutes from the main town but with free shuttle bus. Ten minute walk to a small town with lovely restaurants and bars at half the price of restaurants in Sorrento. Staff are friendly. Spotless rooms.

O hotel é um pouquinho longe do centro de Sorrento, mas em uma região mais alta muito agradável, especialmente no verão porque é mais fresco. We stayed in room 603 of the Villa Rosita. The room was emaculate with a beautiful view of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius. The hotel staff and dining service was perfect. They helped arrange local boating tour and a local lemon and olive farm dining experience. The shuttle to Sorrento is awesome for shopping and dinning in town. It is beautiful view with quiet mountain villa vibe. 100% satisfied.

This is a beautiful property located about 20 mins drive from Sorrento. We lived at their charming old Sorrentine villa, which is a short walk away from the main building. It is quiet , spacious and have balconies overlooking the town below and the bay . You can enjoy the view of Mt Vesuvius across the bay , from the rooftop too..
Every single person working at the hotel - the reception desk , restaurants , Giovanni - our pick up driver and the lady at the bar - every one greets you with a smile on their face.
The deck behind the bar, is a great place to enjoy the view with a glass of Hetmitage Sunset.
There is a shuttle bus from the hotel which takes you to Sorrento town , so you can do your shopping and come back in time to have your dinner .
The village behind the hotel is about 10 mins walk, and has some great local restaurants. You must visit Lo Stuzzichino for its seafood pasta. Pizzeria Buenos Aires and Di Mimi also serves fantastic Italian food. The desert shop next to the village church is also a must visit.
If I come back to Sorrento, I will definitely stay here again.

The deck behind the bar, is a great place to enjoy the view with a glass of Hetmitage Sunset.
There is a shuttle bus from the hotel which takes you to Sorrento town , so you can do your shopping and come back in time to have your dinner .
The village behind the hotel is about 10 mins walk, and has some great local restaurants. You must visit Lo Stuzzichino for its seafood pasta. Pizzeria Buenos Aires and Di Mimi also serves fantastic Italian food. The desert shop next to the village church is also a must visit.
If I come back to Sorrento, I will definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. It was so peaceful and quiet with the most amazing views of Mt. Vesuvius. The staff were super helpful and friendly with all recommendations. The rooms were quite large with beautiful tile floors and a large balcony. The 10 minute walk into the village was a beautiful little nature walk and the village itself was the perfect location for dinners (try Bueno Aires Ristorante) and to grab a few fresh fruits and coffee etc..

This family owned hotel is by far the best place I have stayed in Italy. The staff is amazing. The restaurant has different menus each evening. And there is no better view of the gulf of Naples. If your plans take you anywhere near Naples, Sorrento or Amalfi, you absolutely must spend some time at the Grand Hotel Hermitage. Five stars is insufficient. I’m thinking it’s closer to eight.

We were very pleased with our stay! From the second we pulled up, after a long road trip and arriving close to midnight, the staff was so hospitable. Helping us bring our luggage in while it was pouring rain. Past the entrance doors we were greeted by the most gracious reception members and we felt at ease immediately. My husband and i are very low key, low maintenance type of travelers and love to do what the locals do, the concierge (so sad we forgot his name) was the friendliest, with the best recommendations and helped our stay be spectacular. Sadly we got colder weather so didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool but the views from our sea view room was amazing!! We will definitely book a stay here again and recommend to all who are looking to visit the area! Room was clean and to our humble liking :) thank you so much to the Hermitage for a wonderful stay!

Nice hotel. If you are young and you would like to enjoy night life in Sorrento then this hotel is not for you. The bus to hotel from town takes 25 minutes, and the last but from bus station leaves at 10:15 pm. It is a good hotel for seniors, or families. That was my only issue that I really would like to enjoy city and I could not due to distance of hotel to city.

Area is too far to walk to big town but 5 min walk to small local village if you need anything. I rented a car from Naples and drove to the town in 10 min. Drive to Positano in 40 min. Hotel booked a Ferry trip to Capri for me. Very safe area. This was a mother daughter trip and I was happy and safe the whole time. Highly recommended! Will be returning.

Overall a good experience with awesome views of Serranto. Located 20-25 minutes from the City Center by car, the hotel does provide a shuttle to and from the City Center. The property & rooms are a little tired looking and the TV was smaller than my computer screen at home. However, the best part of this property was an unexpected surprise - just a 10 minute nature trail walk away you’ll discover a charming little village (Massa Lubrense) We had the best meals at very reasonable prices at Buenos Aires Pizzeria restaurant.

Beautiful views, yummy included breakfast (you can have it next to the pool and enjoy the views), shuttle available back and forth to the hotel (recommend putting your name down for the time you plan to go to the centre, hotel is close to a small village with plenty of food and gelato options! Staff were very friendly and they were able to secure us a taxi to our train station on a holiday with a last minute notice! We had some wifi connection trouble but I think that could be due to the hotel’s location on the mountains! The hotel also offers a bar, caffe, table tennis, pool, and a restaurant if you’re looking for a place to just stay in and relax! It was overall a great experience and would definitely go back again!

While the Grand Hermitage may have lost some of its original splendor, it has not lost any of its hospitality, incredibly attentive staff and amazing views (be sure to book a balcony room). If you are looking for a flashy hotel with modern appointments, this is not the place for you. The hotel is about 15 minutes from downtown Sorrento, but has a shuttle that provides service during certain hours of the day. Some updates could be made (a little more comfortable beds for example), but the charm of the place more than makes up for a fancy door handle or light fixture.

Grand Hotel Hermitage was one of the most pleasant and comfortable hotels my boyfriend and I have ever stayed in. The view is indescribable, the pool is clean and sizable, and the pool deck is spacious and beautiful. The rooms were large with two balconies, perfect for enjoying the sun from. The hotel is also extremely responsible with hand sanitizer everywhere and they are constantly disinfecting everything and everyone was wearing masks. The absolute best part of the hotel though are the staff. They go above and beyond for you, and are always offering the best advice and help for the area. They were so accommodating to us it was really special. This is the perfect getaway on the entire Amalfi cost to relax or work from!! I wish so badly we didn’t have to leave.

The property is about 20 to 30 minutes from Sorrento city center, but the hotel offers free shuttle service. The rooms, however, were terrible. Tiny, uncomfortable beds. There were 2 other chairs in the room which we didn't feel safe sitting on. For the money, the amenities were poor. We had dinner and breakfast included. Again the service was great, but the food was bad. Cooked breakfast was always cold. Overall, we felt the accommodations were very overpriced.

The views are spectacular from this hotel as it sits on top of the hill (it's a bit of a drive). There is a quaint town within walking distance behind the hotel I highly suggest visiting and exploring. The hotel itself has very attentive and lovely staff. The hotel arranged a private car from the Naples train station then back to the airport, which was a very reasonable price comparatively (110 Euros each way). Great place run by lovely people, they can not help you enough.All very welcoming and soon remembered our names and room number, food was really good and we had dinner there a couple of times even though we only booked breakfast, they run a free shuttle bus to Sorrento centre as well, the views from the hotel are breathtaking and you can drive to Sorrento centre in 10 mins down the winding roads. Lots of sun beds and free towels to use by the pool and the Gelato in the pool bar was fantastic, the rooms were a little dated but were very very clean and have basic sky tv would definitely go and visit again

The hotel is exactly what we wanted (very Italian) we only had b&b but catered for what we needed. The staff are so lovely and can’t do enough for you which was amazing, even the guests were all friendly it made such a lovely weekend for us all. Will def be going back next year, 👍👍👍
