The hotel was spotless, the lobby area bright with a cheerful, welcoming ambience. The room was clean, staff warm and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with a large bathtub, which regrettably did not provide nearly enough hot water to have a bath. The shower, on the other hand, had more than enough hot water, so no harm no foul.

The staff at Maison Kalea was very helpful. The check in process was quick. Maison Kalea is in a good location for access to the main square with a 10 minute walk. My main complaint is the high level of street and traffic noise in our room from the noisy street corner outside. Our first night we listened to motorists zoom up our street until 3am. Not conducive to good sleep. And I wear earplugs all night.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The room was beautiful-comfortable,spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The location couldn't be better; it's so convenient to walk to all the restaurants and shopping nearby. The staff are truly amazing - friendly, welcoming,and always ready to help with anything you need. The breakfast was incredible, with delicious options that made every morning a treat. What really stood out, though, was the warm and inviting atmosphere- you feel like you're in someone's lovely home rather than a hotel. I can't wait to come back!

Friendly Staff, Beautiful Hotel

Beautiful hotel, the check in was easy, there was a front desk which was staffed all day. Also had a good size elevator. The room was spacious, the bathroom and shower were spacious. We had a nice balcony. We had a fridge and kettle in the room, with tea and coffee. Breakfast was served 7:30-10:30 and had a good assortment of delicious homemade food! It was pretty close to the town square, about a 10 minute (easy) walk. The only downside is that the hotel is on a busy street corner and the sound of scooters racing by was very noisy (only with the windows open). Overall great hotel. It was only a 10 minute walk to the train station.

We stayed at Maison Kalea for 5 nights during our honeymoon, and we were very disappointed with the experience, especially given its high rating. The most shocking issue was the complete lack of internet for our entire stay, which was a major inconvenience and unacceptable for a highly rated hotel. The room had several problems: the shower shelf was broken, making it difficult to use, the bed was uncomfortable, impacting our sleep quality, and the hotel provided paper cups instead of glassware, which felt cheap. We requested extra soap and shampoo, but our requests were ignored. There was no pool, and the outdoor seating consisted of uncomfortable chairs. We asked for umbrellas for the sunbeds, but staff told us none were available, despite there being plenty at the tables nearby. The jacuzzi was advertised but was not working. The breakfast was acceptable but lacked variety, with very few fruit options available. While the staff was generally friendly, the cleaning lady was extremely loud on our last day, shouting while cleaning as we were checking out and waiting for our transfer in the lobby, which was disruptive and unprofessional. Given these issues, we were surprised by Maison Kalea’s high rating. Given these issues, we feel we paid far too much for such a subpar experience. The property did not meet our expectations for a honeymoon stay, and we would not recommend it

We really enjoyed our stay at Maison Kalea. It is perfectly located – away from the noisy, busy centre, yet still within easy reach. There are several good restaurants, pizzerias, and mini-supermarkets nearby, and on the way to the city centre there’s a traditional Italian patisserie-gelateria called Monica, which is an absolute must-visit.

The premises are spacious and thoughtfully designed, providing a very comfortable atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety each day. You can choose to enjoy it in the lovely dining room or out on the bright and spacious terrace.

A wonderful place to stay – highly recommended.

Travel tip: When visiting Sorrento, it may be more convenient to book an airport transfer from Naples Airport rather than renting a car or relying on public transport, especially if you have luggage to carry. Parking fees are high everywhere, and the twisty coastal roads can be tiring to navigate.

We stayed in a junior room with a double and twin bed. The room and bathroom were spacious and beautiful. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and towels were like new! We had a really huge private terrace that was probably 300sq ft!!!! That extra space was perfect to just be outside! Breakfast by Maria was amazing! She makes everything herself! The ladies at reception were very very helpful and nice. Location was just a short walk to everything needed. We absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend!

Nice, clean bathroom and room, good breakfast (thanks Maria!) and helpful and available staff. Do not that there is a fee for late check in but they do allow it.

Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was the best we’ve had anywhere. Great selection, fresh and beautifully displayed. It was quiet and near a restaurant that offered free shuttle service which is very helpful. Only thing we could say was a negative was the beds we had were hard, which is not unusual in many European hotels.

Throughout the process they were communicative and responsive. We were allowed to store our luggage before check in while we took a day trip to Capri, which was really appreciated. It is about a 15 minute downhill walk to the port.

The staff are so nice and accommodating and the breakfast in the morning had a variety to select from and was delicious.

The breakfast is amazing! They can make eggs to your style but we decided to stick to what they served since we are in Italy and it was all delicious. The staff were all friendly from check in to check out. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The parking is located around the corner and I gated parking lot of a business which has cameras and a gate code to get in and out. The hotel is located down the street from all the restaurants and shopping so it’s easy 5-10mins walk. I would definitely stay here again if we are ever in Sorrento again

Her breakfast was delicious. Our room was cleaned every day. Plus we had a nice balcony we were able to sit in the evenings before going out for dinner. Overall excellent hotel.

Honestly I really loved my stay here. It’s such a cute spot and so walkable about 5-10 minutes from the main strip of restaurants and shopping. About a 15 minute walk to the beach and the port to the ferries. Reception was so lovely! I would stay here again.

Initial room mix up but great staff

Stayed at Maison Kalea for four nights as part of our honeymoon to Italy. Things initially started badly as we were given the wrong room - it was a downgrade on what we'd booked, and we weren't informed in advance or on arrival by the receptionist. It was disappointing as we'd been really looking forward to the room we'd booked, and we weren't able to change it or get a refund for the difference on our first night. However, the next day reception were able to move us to the correct room and the staff were really apologetic about the mix up. Despite the above there were loads of positives to our stay - the hotel itself is beautiful, the breakfast was great, and the location is ideal for a short walk into the centre of Sorrento. We would stay again if we came back.

Nothing fancy, but a real gem in Serrento!

Maison Kalea Is located only 5 minutes walk from the town center surrounded by good restaurants. The receptionists Martina and Giovanni both speak fluent English and are very helpful. Martina provided us with local information and best restaurants nearby; Giovanni helped us to print out our electronic tickets to Capri, which was required. We caught him on his way home off work. Not only did he patiently waited for the computer to reboot and handed us the hard copies, he refused to accept our gratuity, and simply said, “it’s my job.” But he was off duty already! We were very touched and impressed by the work ethic they demonstrated.

The breakfast is something to brag about! Chef Antonelli is a typical Italian mama/grandma who creates magic in her kitchen . Every morning she bakes fresh croissants, breads, cakes, and various pizza rusticas in addition to seasonal vegetables, cheeses and hams. She also takes orders for fresh coffee and eggs, of your choice. The varieties are plenty, and there are always things that are different from yesterday every morning. We’ve stayed in many B&Bs all over the world. We rate Mama Antonelli’s breakfast 5 stars!

Sorrento is a beautiful town and the gateway to the magnificent Amalfi Coast. With accommodations are getting more and more expensive in this area, Mason Kalea remains to be a fine choice for quality seeking and budget conscientious travelers. Highly recommended!

The people who worked the front desk and cooked the breakfast each morning couldn't have been any nicer. The breakfast buffet had a ton of options and they would even cook you eggs upon request. The front desk staff was very helpful with making dinner reservations and booking tours. The restaurant was within walking distance to a lot of different restaurants and the main square. Would definitely recommend staying there.

The staff is so nice and helpful, and the property is beautiful.
Their breakfast spread is fantastic and all made in house by the morning cook, so be sure to tip her because she does it alone and she's awesome.

Although we only stayed one night at Maison Kalea, it would be our preferred stay in Sorrento when we return. Bianca was very welcoming and communicated wonderfully prior to arrival. The room was extremely clean and updated. The location is just five minute walk to the shops and restaurants. Ten minutes from the train station. A great grocery store across the street. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of options. Cappuccino and homemade pastries by an in-house chef. Wish we could stay longer.

We highly recommend Maison Kalea. We had one of our best experience staying at this place. Very nice and friendly staff, beautifully decorated with local theme. Each room was decorated nicely and was very roomy too. Location was good too if you are willing to walk up the streets about 10 minutes from the city center. Overall our stay here was acceptable. We typically book boutique hotels because the hosts are usually extra hospitable, but not here. We were treated like we would be treated in a large chain hotel, but with far less smiles. Upon walking in & checking in: we did not feel welcomed. So much so, that we considered booking another hotel & leaving. Our impression was that guests were a burden & that any questions were irritating. Perhaps a career is hospitality is not suited to some personalities.

The only good thing was the lovely breakfast spread with made to order cappuccinos & eggs. (Though we didn’t realize we could order eggs as that was not offered to us. We only learned it on our 2nd to last day after witnessing other guests doing so.) The cook at breakfast was very nice. Funny quirk: she was baking fresh muffins & cakes, but when we asked if we could have one of the freshly baked items that was cooling on the counter she said “no, not for you, they are for tomorrow.”

Cleanliness: Everything appeared clean at first glance. But I took off my shoes in our room & my socks were covered in dust & other people’s hair within minutes. I almost asked if I could have a vacuum to clean the room better. Thankfully the bathroom was far cleaner than the floor.

Location was good: few minutes walk uphill from the main pedestrian street, which we booked to avoid too much noise. Windows blocked out some of construction noise from across the street.

We stayed at Maison Kalea during our two week trip around Italy. Francesca was very welcoming and helpful during our time in Sorrento. The room was spacious and clean; we also had a small balcony which overlooked the shared patio area. It was lovely! The room had its own air conditioning unit, which was nice since it was about 80 degrees during our time there. Also, the breakfast included was tasty (bread, rolls, meats, cheeses, baked goodies, veggies, cereal, coffee/tea, fruit... anything you wanted!) and a great way to start your day.

2 nights in Sorrento

Hotel was close to the main square and a short walk to the train station. The girls on reception were very friendly and helpful booking us on an amazing boat tour of Capri. The breakfast was tasty and had a good variety. We also liked that there were usb charge points in the room as we only brought one Euro adaptor with us 😊

We booked this B&B because it was family run and the superb reviews. We were not disappointed. The location is brilliant, just a slow 10min walk into the main square of Sorrento. The welcome we received was very warm and friendly. Throughout our stay the staff went above and beyond - nothing was too much trouble. The spacious rooms are immaculate and have everything you need. However, the main highlight of our stay was the breakfast - two lovely Italian ladies cook the most amazing array of delicious fresh savoury and sweet selection of food that tastes as it looks and surpasses any breakfast we've ever had when staying in a hotel or B&B. So look no further, this B&B is amazing and we would happily recommend to anyone planning a stay in beautiful Sorrento.
