What an incredible hotel, it’s more of a villa perched up on the most beautiful hill in Sorrento. There are only 6 hotels available for booking, so it’s so tranquil and calm. A beautiful pool and garden is available for guests only. Luca is so welcoming and knowledgeable, it was so nice to have someone born and raised in Sorrento to answer all of our questions and recommend places. I highly recommend staying here! It’s a 5 minute walk into the heart of Sorrento but tucked away from the crowds. Also 5 minute walk to the train/bus station and less than 10 minute walk to the ferry. I loved the kitties that live on the property too!

Lovely history to the building we stayed in of which part of which was the hotel. Felt very safe.
Luca, the host was great and made us feel very welcome.
Very easy walking access to all the local shops and restaurants including the marinas and ports.
The private garden was very tranquil. The pool looked stunning but the water was quite cold so not the best for a leisurely swim.
No hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay in Sorrento.
Felt very safe

Where do you start
The Excellent location - near the main the piazza
The beautiful Gardens - great for relaxing after the trips
The Pool - for that dip when it gets too warm
Or Luca a wonderful host
Comfortable room, with mini bar, kettle and safe
Oh safe - you won't find a more wonderful building in a secure environment.
If you want a plastic hotel, this may not be for you; if you want an oasis, a few minutes stroll to the marina, piazza, churches, old town then, this tickes the boxes.

This place has excellent location, close to everything - Sorrento town center and train station are within a few minutes walking distance. The host Luca is very kind and helpful. He helped us with the Sorrento to Amalfi boat tour which was absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful stay and definitely recommend this place, and would come back for sure.

Charming guest house situated in extensive garden on small cliff overlooking Sorrento. Owner Luca was delightful and solicitous. Extremely safe with 2 keyed entries. 3 minute walk to downtown area, including shops, restaurants, and ferries to Capri, etc. Multiple tour opportunities…don’t miss the 8 person all-day small van tour to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Wonderful spot for 5 day stay in the area. Like all guesthouses, amenities eg paper products and coffee were limited.

We booked this hotel based on Expedia reviews and were disappointed. At the high price point, it was not what we expected.
On the positive side, the hotel is located a short walk to the Piazza Tasso, the main square in Sorrento. The room and bathroom were clean, except for mold on the tiles in the shower, which was not removed during our 7 day stay.
The hotel had a substantial garden area with a pool, but the garden is overgrown, with seedy furniture, some of which sits on sad looking green plastic “grass”. The room was large, but the furniture looked like it came from grandma’s attic. In addition to a large circular table, there was an upright piano ! There was a long hard sofa embellished with gold painted trim and a couple of coordinated chairs, but nothing actually comfortable.
The toiletries provided were two tiny packets of shampoo and a pump container of soap at the sink. No shower gel or soap, no lotion, no conditioner. For a bathroom cup we had two paper cups which were not replaced during our 7 night stay. Sometimes shampoo and toilet paper were replenished, but not consistently.
If this were a budget hotel this would be about what you’d expect. But as an expensive property, it was pretty sad and very disappointing.
It is also worth noting that motorcycle traffic on the adjacent street is quite noisy at all hours.

What a perfect place to stay for a visit to Sorrento! The host, Luka, was fantastic! Very easy to communicate with and helped book shuttles and excursions during our stay.

The property itself is in a fantastic location. It overlooks the main square in the touristy area of the city, but is far enough away (100m) that it is quiet and away from the hustle. It's a 5 min walk to the train station and has a cafe just around the corner for your morning coffee and pastry which was open at 6am making it convenient!

Room was great and had everything we needed, and the property itself is fantastic! It has a huge private garden area, pool, and is perched on a cliff with great views of the square.

All in all a fantastic visit, we'd definitely stay again!

We stayed at this property at the beginning of June for five nights. After having travelled through Italy for almost two weeks, we were in need of relaxation and Relais La Rupe was the perfect place to do so. The gardens and pool are beautiful and well kept. It was so quiet, it felt like we had the whole property to ourselves. It was about a five-minute walk to the town centre, but we never heard a thing, apart from the honking of cars, which you can't escape in Italy. The location was great. Our host, Luca, was amazing. He booked a couple of tours for us, recommended restaurants to visit, as well as telling us some of the history of Sorrento. If I could give our stay more than five stars, I would.

Amazing stay

We really enjoyed our stay at La Rupe. The grounds and view are beautiful, and the pool was a great spot to relax after a day of exploring the center town, which is just 2 blocks away. The room was spacious and clean. Luca was an incredible host, super friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. He even helped arrange a taxi for us to get back to the airport for a very early morning trip. Would definitely stay again!

A beautiful building in a quiet part of town, with just a small walk (5 mins) to the Town square. Luca and his team looked after us from the moment we arrived, to the time we had to leave.
