Decent stay

We booked for 3 nights of stay in Daphne Luxury Suite.
However, we were told on the morning of our check-in, that the proposed apartment was dirtied by the heavy rain, and we had to stay in 2 separate units. 2 of us had to stay in a 3 star looking tiny room, while the other 4 stayed in a Junior Suite 2 floors away.
To add to the inconvenience, we had to relocate to the original proposed apartment the next day, which messed up our Day Trip plans. The caretaker lady was very kind, and she helped us shift all the luggage through different floors, into the new apartment.

The 2 bedroom apartment on level 1 was clean, and has a good working kitchen.
It also has a washing machine, for those who wish to do their laundry mid-trip.

The ensuite bedroom has a shower stall inside its room, but you still have to step out of your room, if you need to use the loo.

Daphne Luxury is within walking distance to Trevi Fountain(20min), and Rinascente(10 min).
It also has supermarkets, pharmacies and trattorias nearby.

On the positive side, an excellent room in a really great, quiet area within walking distance of many great shops and restaurants. Who knew there was an amazing Michelin Guide restaurant underneath!? (Colline Emiliane: Make a reservation as they were booked up for both sittings for weeks!). Lots of great cafés within one block, so skip the €20 breakfast as it’s not self-serve, as one would expect in Europe. The cleaning person was amazing. There was no “library,” but there was a small common area. Everything was very clean and tidy. In the photos on here, they’ve dressed the entrance to look more hotel-y but keep your expectations low on that front. It’s an apartment building, which they’re very clear about, but that “lobby” photo is a tad misleading. WIFI was weak and spotty at times, the safe wasn’t working, and if you like a lovely blow-out to go out, you’ll need to bring a hair dryer as the built-in conked out after about 30 seconds on high. This wasn't a huge issue for us. Check-in was a bit bumpy. We never received an email with instructions but found a number to text, and as soon as we did, it was all very quick and straightforward. So my advice is to make sure you know how to check in ahead of time and know what you're booking, and you’ll have a great time here!

Horrible! Total disappointment and frustration. I messaged the property owner twice in the last couple of weeks to confirm that we're coming and provide an approximate arrival time. I was supposed to get instructions on how to access the apartment the day my family and I arrive at Rome. Once we got to the airport after a 12 hour flight I found no messages received; I sent a message inquiring why and I received a reply saying the room is closed for \"safety reason relating to the pipes\". So they waited until I asked for the instructions to be told that there is no room available.

I got stranded with no where to go at the airport for about 2 hours and then I had to reserve a rom at a hotel 20 miles away from the Rome historic center since nothing was available nearby at double the price and had to use a taxi / Uber every day to get to the sites we wanted to see. It was a horrible experience I would not wish on anyone.

Booked this hotel through Expedia and was immediately contacted by the hotel to tell me that the last available room had already been booked, and that I would need to contact Expedia for a refund. Expedia has had no success trying to contact the hotel to validate the cancellation. It looks like I am not the only guest to have this problem. Avoid this hotel, they are a SCAM.

The hotel was clean and had the option of Netflix on the TV which was nice. Great location.
The check in was extremely frustrating. We did not get emailed an access code prior and had to wait about 30 mins for someone to answer the phone to help us.
We were told there would be a code to the wifi in the room, which there was not. We messaged the hotel number about he passcode and never got a response back.
The shower did not drain and would overflow in less than 5 mins of having the shower on.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Street location was garbage strewn alley. No one was there when we arrived and there was no notice on the door as to what bell to press to get someone's attention and no one answered the emergency number. After waiting in the alley for some time with all our luggage, a guy delivering take out food to one of the apartments let us in the lobby, and one of the guests told us that no one was there and tried to call for us with no luck. Finally the manager came by, didn't seem to know about the reservation or who Orbitz was but finally we got into the room.

This was after a long flight . We were tired and dirty and very frustrated and alarmed - left by a cab in Rome in a filthy alley with all our luggage and no one to help.

Good luck finding this place. Time said check in was by 8pm, our taxi driver got up there at 7pm. No one was at the “hotel” nor in the building. Once we actually found a way into the building it looked like it was a business or residential building. We climbed about 7 flights of stairs trying to find this “hotel” with no luck. Had to walk down the street to another hotel just to be able to sleep somewhere. Spend an extra $400 for a new hotel and this hotel refuses to give us back our money even though we didn’t stay there!!! Worst experience ever! Do not go here!

Very helpful staff. Short walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. Somewhat longer, but not difficult, walk to Colosseum, Vatican, Villa Borgheze. The Daphne is on a short, narrow street, be sure you know where to find it! But very convenient walking distance to all kinds of sight-seeing, restaurants, and shopping.

Spacious and super-clean room. Breakfast area was very pleasant and a nice selection of foods were available. Front desk was very helpful and accommodating. They actually had a PC available in the room for our use. I've not seen that before! Be aware the elevator is super small, not unexpected for an older building in Rome. Overall, this was a great find.

The location was great. Right near everything. We were able to walk everywhere. But, the room is a converted apartment so you unlock the door and walk into a shared kitchen living room and tour bedroom and bathroom is your own. We had very little hot water and if the shower wasn’t cold the whole time it would surprise you with cold during.

wifi that seems to fade in and out. It doesn't work all the time, and it only works on one side of the room, and it is slow. Other than that, I have no complaints. Let's talk about breakfast. If your idea of a full breakfast is a few slices of room temperature salami, ham/turkey (I couldn't tell which one it was), and waxy no-taste cheese served with day-old hard bread in a really hot, small room then this is the place for you. Let's talk about the elevator. I guess I shouldn't complain since there is an elevator, but I kid you not, it has a capacity of \"i person\". I did violate the rule since I squeezed my son in with me, but he is 11. Speaking of small things, the shower capacity is like half a person. Maybe one person if you are a super thin super model who has been on a hunger strike for a month. It's hard to turn without hitting all four walls of the shower. Let's talk about the location. Yes, it is kind of close to some things, but it is located on a dingy side street, next to a laundry and some other somewhat suspicious establishments (and the nearest metro stop is closed for construction). Oh, and if you blink you will miss the hotel, since there is only a tiny sign outside what otherwise looks like a regular apartment building. You hit the buzzer and hopefully someone responds on the intercom. The reception desk is on the 5th floor (that is the 6th floor for us Americans)--remember the 1-person elevator I mentioned? And reception closes at 8:30 pm.

Great location. Clean, functional room. Hotel service was friendly but not effective. They failed to book our airport transfer on arrival which left us stranded until we found our own taxi, and had to pay €30 more than the hotel quoted. Staff went “missing” on two occasions, no one at front reception and no one answering the phone. When we arrived they told us they didn’t take children, then forced us to take a cot which we didn’t want/need, and charged us an extra €40/night for it. Could not access wifi from room, had to go to the ‘common room’ or reception area. Family did not like breakfast offerings.

Location was excellent, the only staff member we saw was kind and very helpful, the room was clean and breakfast was good.
On the other hand, the room was tiny and so was the bathroom. Luckily we traveled with roll-ons, as there would be no room for a larger size suitcases. The size of the lift is small as well. There is hardly room for 2 people at once. This property prides itself of being a luxury B&B rather than a regular hotel, with generous space for guests. Our experience was different.

We had a very good experience overall at the Daphne but the laneway from which you enter the building is rather rough. Once you get into the building it is very nice, particularly the breakfast room. But we had two carry-ons and a bag and could barely get onto the elevator. The room was very small so we could barely open our suitcases.

This is not your typical hotel. It is a B B down a cobblestone side street. Very cool Rome experience. Check in is on the 5th floor. There is a very tiny elevator - holds one person only. We just put our bags in and sent them up, we were happy to walk. There’s is s beautiful area for breakfast. Hotel is clean, modern and air conditioned and wi-fi is great. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco in the afternoon and they brought a beautiful complimentary snack tray to our room - it included a selection of meats, cheese, tomatoes, crackers - delicious and a very nice extra touch. The staff ordered us a private car to the airport for only €50 which picked us up right at the door. Although we didn’t get other taxis through them, they did offer to order a car to pick us up at our ship. They provided maps and direction to the nearby attractions - Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Also gave dinner recommendations and made the reservations for us. A very nice experience all around. I would definitely stay again and will recommend to my friends. Oh and they contact you by email to answer all your pre-trip questions!!!

It was 95 degrees and the air conditioning and refrigerator did not work. The lobby smelled horrible. We were originally booked for 3 nights but had to leave after one night and find a new hotel. They did not give us a credir for the stay. We had to pay the city tax twice. Do not stay there.

This property was well situated for access to must cultural attractions in Rome and many good restaurants are accessible. We found the rooms very clean if a little compact. We were very happy to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room but I have to say the Wi fi access was shocking unless sitting right beside the router. Luisa the manager was pleasant and a mine of information. She was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was adequate(cold meats, cheese, breads cereals, fruit, coffee and juices) if a little basic, Our main issue was the poor wi fi, Rooms do not have TV, probably not a great drawback in Rome, but in the absence of TV we really could have used a better Wi Fi,

Front desk customer service lady was very hiper, rude and simply unpleasant. After we asked her only one question, she told us if we are unhappy with the accommodations, we can go somewhere else and she wouldn’t care. We had to limit our interaction with her to stay civil and not to ruin our vacation. Although concierge at night was very friendly and accommodating. “Free breakfast” is highly overrated, as there’s simply nothing to eat and if they put something on the plate it’s very limited. Very uncomfortable bedding, pillows felt like towels were stuck inside. Elevator is so small, barely for 1 person without luggage. Customer service is on the 5th floor, so if yer a long flight we had to carry our luggage to the 5th floor. I would say it’s a 2 star guest house.

The location of the hotel was better than I expected from choosing it on the map, everything was in walking distance which made the stay very convenient. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The are two reasons I cannot give it an overall excellent rating is because of the issue of the noise, which I understand would happen in any hotel in Rome. The noise issue that was specific to this hotel is the slamming of the front door. The front door slams when shut so loudly that it can be heard all the way on the 5th floor. Our room was on the 1st floor so each and every time someone closed it, it literally jarred us out of our sleep. The other issue is that the twin beds are very uncomfortable, a thin sheet over a leather sofa in our case and the bedding is old. If those two issues could be fixed I believe this hotel could have a much higher rating.

Great location. Few minutes walk from Trevi Fountain and from many restaurants, cafes and grocery store. Great facility. Very comfortable for our family of 5. The staff was very welcoming and helped with plenty of recommendations and also with bookings to restaurants and guided tours.
Only issue was that the metro is still under construction so public transportation was more challenging.

Lovely quaint accommodation. Staff were amazing, very friendly and informative. Always had time to offer advice and assistance. Luisa in particular was super helpful with advice on how to see the sights of Rome. Without her help we would have not seen everything that we saw.
Bathroom and shower were a little difficult to use and fridge did not work however these shortfalls were outweighed by the location, ( just a short walk from the Trevi Fountain) the yummy breakfast and the welcoming nature of the staff. Would definitely go back next time we are in Rome.

The staff here couldn't have been any more friendly or helpful! They gave us a great map with perfectly planned walking routes for each of our days in Rome, including all the sights and great restaurant recommendations. The hotel is the perfect location, just minutes from the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, as well as only a 14minute walk from the Colosseum. The room was clean and exactly what we needed as a base for our trip. Breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. Overall it was an excellent stay and really helped make the trip as enjoyable as it was, Rome is my new favourite city!

First time visitor to Rome

This B&B is part of an multi-storey building. It is clean and tastefully decorated. The house cleaning is done daily. There is a great variety of food for breakfast. This B&B is located within walking distance from every major tourist sites, even Vatican and there are plenty of shops and restaurants next door. The elevator is very small which is normal for older buildings in Europe. The reception desk is on 5th floor.

Not bad - but you could probably find better.

First off, the neighborhood was great. If you're looking for a somewhat affordable, centrally located place, this is perfect. But the pictures make the room look much nicer than they actually are. For some reason, the bathrooms are beautiful but the bedroom/living areas are not nearly as nice.

We had to split our stay into two separate stays (one night was added later). Because these were booked separately, we could not have the same room - 100% understandable. What wasn't understandable was that we could not access our room for the second part of our trip (12/5-12/8) until 9pm - which left us without a hotel room for our first full day in Rome - even though we were forced to check out of the other room as soon as possible and were not compensated for the almost half a day hotel stay we paid for but didn't receive.

Some other things to be aware of with this hotel - the front desk isn't staffed 24/7 - in fact, they leave at about 8pm. To be fair, they were incredibly helpful and bent over backwards to book dinner and give directions.

Our room had ants. I suppose it could've been worse, but they made their way into every room. We visited during off-peak season and while it was nice of them to have a continental breakfast offering, some items offered were clearly the from the previous day/s and got progressively more stale. Our room, and breakfast, was on the fifth floor. We ended up taking a lot of stairs since the elevator was for one person and was incredibly slow.

Nice place but a little tricky.

Our check in didn’t flow well. This is not a hotel with a traditional lobby. The lobby is on the fifth floor of a building that appears to be an apartment. We were there at our 7am check in time but no one answered the buzzer 4 times. We had to send an email and go grab some coffee and wait, this after a 10 hour flight. Our biggest complaint was a bait and switch on the junior suite. We booked a $75 room but within minutes received an email saying we had a shared bathroom, not mentioned on the hotels.com app. The room had a non refundable payment after 15 days prior to check in so the email suggested we get travel insurance in case we wanted to cancel, useless information if your checking in two days later. We had to pay the upgrade fee of $50 USD to avoid losing all our money on a five night stay. Beware of this little trap. Other than that, great place to stay, clean, comfortable, ideally located. The room was worth the $125 a night we had to pay. I feel like our check in issues were rare so don’t be afraid to try it.

The entrance is a little confusing as it is not clearly marked. Once inside though, it is very clean, the staff are very helpful (they marked out the best routes on a map for us to see the sights and gave us restaurant recommendations) and the room was comfortable, clean and very nice.

Easy Access from Hete!

Extremely convienient location with metro and tour busses a block away , Trevi and Spanish Steps minutes away, laundromat nearby, Two excellent restaurants just steps away. On a quiet narrow street one block from large plaza. Newer clean apartments and outdoor patio for breakfast. Elevator available. Caterina was very helpful and friendly as were the rest of the staff. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Daphne for six nights in total. Every morning we had an exceptional breakfast. We were guided by Alexandro where to go and how to get there. The rooms where exceptionally clean, the service was wonderful, the internet connection was good and the location was excellent (between the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain). When we needed to book our train to Cinque Terre, Venice and Florence, Alexandro offered to do it for us. If you intend to stay at the Daphne, you will be happy you did. We intend to return definitely.

Great location. Nice room. The staff was very friendly, spoke English well, and were very helpful in suggesting places to go. They offered to arrange a private car to take us to the airport for a very early flight, and told us where to catch a taxi. Breakfast was good. It included a variety of cold food, and also a few types of coffee drinks made to order, which was really nice. My daughter can't have cows milk or yogurt, so, they offered soy milk. Overall a great place to stay!

Great service and location

This hotel was great. It is centrally located about one block from the Barberini Metro station and there is a bus stop one block over to catch buses to go all over the city. Rome is much more spread out so walking everywhere isn't really an option. We did walk near our hotel to the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon. The breakfast was excellent but no hot food. Mostly pastries, fruit, cold meats, and cheeses. Satisfying though. Our room was one of four in an apartment. We could share the common area with a couch and a computer but we mostly just stayed in our room when we were there. The room itself was a bit cramped with the large bed but it was fine for us. The bathroom was spacious but the shower was a bit small. The main lobby was on the fifth floor and there was a really small elevator you could use. The manager told us it was only added about five years ago. It is just big enough for two people and no baggage. My wife and I had to go up separately with our luggage when we first arrived. But at least there was an elevator. The service was excellent with many recommendations for local attractions. I do think it is priced a bit high for the room size but we still enjoyed our stay there.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Our last stay was six years ago. Both times were fantastic. The really special part of this hotel is that the owners and staff are so attentive. Elyssa runs a food blog... see Romewise and every time we went out to a particular site, the recommended terrific local restaurants where mostly Italians frequented. This is really a food lovers heaven. I have been to Rome five times. On this trip my family did several tours with Elyssa and these are some of my most memorable days in Rome. Stay here! You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful stay at daphne trevi. Staff was very kind, friendly & accommodating! Excellent service! Location is great. 5 minute walk to trevi fountain. 10 minute walk or less to the pantheon. Breakfast is fantastic! So much variety. Splendid stay & would definitely stay again!

This hotel really was a pleasant surprise. The location, the amenities & the services provided were close to perfect. Maybe the sink was a bit small for the water pressure which made the water spill onto the floor, but that was just a small issues that may not bother many people.
The elevator was comically small but appreciated that it was available at all. The breakfast was wonderfully filling to get us ready for a full day of touring the city.

Amazing location with warm hospitality!

The location and service offered at this hotel are both outstanding. You are in the heart of the city without being surrounded by crowds, and the staff are all hugely accommodating with any request you might have. Whilst our room was a bit tired, it was clean, comfortable and ample for a short stay in the city. As a return customer, I would recommend this hotel!

This hotel was one of the highlights of our holiday in Europe. Perfectly situated close to the Trevi Fountain and within walking distance to many of the major tourist sites, this hotel was the place to be. The service was excellent, the facilities in immaculate order and the homemade breakfast buffet was such a welcome start to each day. We hope to return again - because we now know where we will be staying.

Perfect location, perfect service.

This was by far the best accommodation we had whilst we were travelling Italy. For two main reasons, the location, and the wonderful and helpful service from the staff (particularly Alessandro). Alessandro also spoke very good English which makes all the difference! He was able to assist us in booking taxi's and other things. It is ideally located within close proximity to Trevi Fountain and all the main attractions. The breakfast was also one of the best we had. Top quality and very fresh.
We were moved in to a bigger room then booked as the air conditioner in our original room was being serviced. Alessandro couldn't apologise enough, however we were very happy with the upgrade! We also required last minute accommodation in Rome later on in our trip, Daphne was the first place we called as we felt comfortable there. They were so helpful and were able to find us a room for the night.
I absolutely recommend you stay here if you are staying in Rome!

We were family of four (children 9 and 11) and wanted spacious accommodations. At Daphne Trevi we were in the center of it all and got room on the second floor right above the restaurant. It was two large rooms with very specious bathroom. We did hear any street noises and kids each had their own bed, which was great! We had some issues with our luggage upon arrival and Alessandro was most welcoming and very helpful in trying to resolve those issues for us. Both Alessandro and Lucia (I hope i remember the name correctly) were always helping us with our daily activities. Alessandro made reservations for us to eat at Colline Emiliane which we highly recommend. Breakfast on the 5th floor on the terrace was delicious. Always fresh fruits with cereals, cold cuts, pastries, etc. Alessadro and his wife even make breakfast cakes that were very good too. Staying in the heart of a busy city, we felt very well taken care of by friendly staff, always got a good nights rest at our room and will deficiently recommend this boutique hotel.

All roads lead to the Daphne Trevi in Rome

The staff at Daphne Trevi were very pleasant and professional. We stayed on the third floor and only used the small elevator to transport our luggage at the beginning and end of our five night stay. The B & B is ideally situated to see all of the major attractions and more by walking. We are in our mid sixties and we walked all over ancient Rome and also to the Vatican. At the end of each day it was a delight to return to such a peaceful accommodation. Since our return to Canada we have told our family and friends that if they should ever go to Rome then they should check out the Daphne Trevi for a most delightful B & B experience! Excellent Location

Great location, within walking distance to all the main attractions. Rooms are a bit on the small size but the bed is very comfortable which is needed after a day of walking the city of Rome. The owners are very helpful advising on what to visit, how to get to a location and booking excursions, taxis for us. The breakfast was a buffet style consisting of local cheeses, meats, fresh juices, fruit, pastries, cakes and coffee.
