The room was clean and looked lovely! The staff were friendly. For me the aircon was not working properly so I had to leave the window open to get cold air to come into the room as it was quite warm otherwise. I could also hear the room next door to me's bathroom and noise from the roof terrace, I really couldn't sleep that well because of it. Otherwise good location and has nice decor.

The hotel far exceeded my expectations. We were greeted very kindly by the lobby staff. Room was ready an hour before Check in. We were explained all the close attractions and restaurants. The rooftop staff at night was the highlight of our stay. The two young man and woman really grated us beautifully. The morning breakfast was also incredible . The room was nice and spacious and very comfortable bed . Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff who were so kind to us.

The staff at this hotel was wonderful and the location was good. I stayed on the first floor and there were shutters that did not open that are attached to the outside covering the window so it was very dark in the room. The bathroom needs work with peeling wallpaper in the shower and an outlet that didn’t work.

Very disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience to prevent other travelers from being misled by the overwhelmingly positive — and, in my view, highly questionable — reviews. There is not a single aspect of my stay that reflected the standards expected of a 4-star hotel.
1. Complete Lack of Temperature Control, Guests are not permitted to regulate the air conditioner in the room. The hotel activated the air conditioning remotely without my consent on one of the coldest mornings, when it was only 7°C outside.
2. Lukewarm Water Supply - do not expect you can have hot water for shower as the you will only get lukewarm water even you turn to the max temperature.
3. Appalling Hygiene Standards - women hair on fresh towels, visible blood stains on spare duvet (needed because the room has no heating!)
4. Unacceptable Noise and Rude, Unhelpful Staff - work outside the room at 11pm, and staff was not willing to offer any help.

The location is fantastic and when you have a location that good, nothing else needs to be great. The rooms are fine. The service and amenities are fine. The rooftop bar situation could be amazing, it’s just fine. They should put a nice espresso/coffee machine in your room but you’ll get a cheap motel style instant coffee maker that makes cheap motel style instant coffee. It’s fine, everything is fine. If fine isn’t good enough, keep looking around.

There was some work happening during the day at the hotel during the time of our stay, which made it a little difficult to siesta. Very quiet at night. Rooms, hallways, the staircase and the lift is very small, as common for hotels in the city centre. Stay for the location and easy access to attractions near the Barbarini metro station, but do not expect anything exceptional. Note that this may be a difficult location for anyone with mobility concerns, as the hotel has steps immediately by the entrance to the lobby and is at the top of a steep hill at a busy intersection. The rooftop dining area is nice but the outdoor area is very small and can get cramped when it is busy. There is a nice lounge in the evening that is suitable for an apertif.

A little run down and the hotel had only one working elevator. The power outlets don't power well to charge a phone unless you wish to wait 11 hours. The bathroom dryer didn't work nor did the outlet support any hot tools.The patio bar is super small and limits seating to 2 per table outside which is not so convenient. The food was okay but rather small portions for the price.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Barberini. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally warm, attentive, and welcoming. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better: perfectly situated within walking distance of restaurants, charming local shops, and iconic landmarks like the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

My room was spotless and a perfect retreat from the summer heat — the air conditioning was a lifesaver! As a woman traveling solo, I also want to highlight how safe and comfortable I felt throughout my entire stay. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would gladly return on my next visit to Rome!

I would never stay again. AC went out so they gave us a fan, so we sweated the whole stay. No extra room to move us and AC needed to be replaced as well as a few other rooms (we were traveling in large group) restaurant has limited hours and there is no real bar as stated. Horrible experience.

Perfect location and good stay overall

Good overall stay. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Rome - I walked everywhere. The staff are lovely.
The breakfast is ok, the buffet selection is good but the juice is very watered down and the hot food was overcooked on more than one occasion.
The rooms are better than photographed, I think everything has been freshened up and is immaculately clean. The walls are paper thin though so you can hear other rooms and people in corridor very clearly.

This is a great little hotel, located perfectly in the Plazza Barberini, which is within walking distance of many of the tourist \"must-sees.\" You can walk to Trevi, Spanish steps, Pantheon, and the hop-on-off-bus and metro are all with easy walking distances. Our room was small, but perfect for 3 nights in Rome. You can also get breakfast included which is served on the top floor with a nice view overlooking the city.

Beautiful place, in a central area, close to historic places of Rome (which are everywhere). Or room was small-ish but very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were fantastic.
Hotel staff, are very nice, helpful and always trying to help with a smile on their face.
The nearby avenue is busy at times, but we were at walking distance of many nice areas, including (a little longer walk) the Coliseum.
We were in January last year. Weather was fine, you can make do with a shirt, jersey and a light jacket.
And best of all, although there were plenty of tourists, our was nowhere near to what there are in summertime.
And, room prices at Barberini were probably half or less of what they are in summer.

Highly recommended, and I warmly recommend to visit Rome (and Italy) in winter (maybe Milan could be colder, the rest is really fine weather, less expensive and not packed at all (except Rome, and still is half-packed)

This hotel was centrally located within walking distance to everything! There is even \"Hop ON Hop OFF\" buses to take you to many areas in the city center. Staff was extremely friendly, the hotel was beautiful. WE would have loved to stay longer... Next time!

My partner and I enjoyed the hotel! It was located perfectly in the center of a lot of shopping, restaurants and walking distance to other tourist spots. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. I called them a week before with questions and they always answered right away. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend the pizza like other people have. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Also the room is the perfect size. A lot of people had comments on how it’s small but people really shouldn’t be in the hotel all day. It’s a great room size to relax and get ready for a day of walking.

Nice hotel, good price, and they have a roof top Restaurant with nice View,, the only thing I don’t like is before you enter the hotel there’s couple steps to climb up and the front door is very hard to open, once you went in the staff will help you bring the luggage down, and they have good breakfast too.

The rooms were tiny. The TV was on the vanity and blocked the mirror instead of being attached to the wall. Very tacky. The breakfast was substandard, eventually I stopped ordering from the kitchen and only had toast. Food tasted old (e.g.,bacon) and the pastries dry and stale. Fruits were overripe to rotten. However, the kitchen staff was consistently very nice.

Oh my goodness other than the heat it was an absolutely phenomenal. Stay minutes from the Trevi fountain and the Spanish stairs a taxi cab ride from the Vatican and the Colosseum the hotel staff was absolutely phenomenal very friendly very informative. Very helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is a fantastic place to stay. The people are very kind and helpful. They make an effort to get to know you and do everything they can to make your time in Rome enjoyable. The room and hotel was clean and beautiful. It is close to so many sights to see. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location. An easy walk to Trevi and Spanish Steps.
Also very close to Piazza Barberini where there is a metro station, bus stops, and hop-on-hop-off bus stop.
Restaurants in the area are a bit touristy and underwhelming. The sidewalks in the area are very rundown and broken, making it even harder to walk on the cobblestones. Bring good walking shoes!
I would return to this hotel.

This hotel was what I expected based on previous reveiws. Rooms were sufficient, small, which was to be expected in Rome. It was easily walkable to several attractions, particularly Trevi Fountain. The staff were very nice and helpful. Would I stay again? Yes. For a special occasion, no.

This property was close to the Trevi fountain and the Barberini Museum and Garden. It is well maintained and very clean, with a lovely rooftop bar. It is located on a steep hill, is the only downside. The property was a great stay, would stay again.
