To start, our room smelled like raw sewage. Certainly a plumbing issues. They did not take care of it despite multiple calls. Then, at checkout, we noticed massive undisclosed additional charges, increasing our rate by fifty percent. They claimed room was for one person and you had two individuals. Having stayed with Marriott for over 30 years, rooms are per always priced per night based on double occupancy. We did not exceed occupancy and we did not have breakfast included. They refused to adjust.

GREAT hotel...perfect stay in Rome

WE just love this hotel. We have stayed 4 times in the last couple years. We've brought big groups which they handle nicely and small groups the same! The rooftop is beautiful and the staff is wonderful especially the concierge who are super helpful and friendly. See you in September.

After spending a week in Italy, we ended in Rome. Since this is an autograph Marriott hotel, we thought it would be just fine. Three rooms, documented pictures, and videos with their cleaning staff of bugs in the mattresses. There were complaints and reports of bedbugs in this hotel from June. The house manager refused to speak to us and relied on his staff in the front to deal with it. There are many options to stay in Rome, my advice is not to stay here

Great location, next to Barberini metro stop...watch out for pick pocketers though, had my wallet stolen as we boarded a metro train (rush of people on/off caused disturbance). Nice roof top bar (future restaurant), but need reservations. Great view of many sites from the roof.

We purchased 2 nights for 2 junior suites. The a/c of both rooms did not function properly and we could not cool down the rooms. We communicated this to the reception and management and requested to be changed to other rooms with no success. We paid a high rate and we feel we should be compensated. Also one of the rooms when we first went in was not clean, smelled bad , rugs with stains, and bed duvet dirty ( took pictures) .

Great hotel at a great location, conveniently located in front of a subway station and right next to a \"Hop On Hop Off\" bus stop if you are touring the city.
One minor detail is that if you get a room with a terrace, you can hear guests from other rooms when they are in the terrace area. This was not a problem for me because the other guests were great and kept the noise to a minimum, but it could be a problem if you are looking for a super quiet room.

What a great place to stay in Rome. All the tourist sites are within walking distance. Lots of shopping and dinning options around the hotel.

However, No iron and ironing board in the room was a big inconvenience. They provided handheld Steam iron which was not ideal to press the clothes.
No microwave in the room also.

I would take these points in mind:
(Disadvantages):
• Noise corridors all day long, with lots of door closures.
• Room cleanliness is 7/10.
• TV is not smart! And most of the channels are local.

(Advantages):
• Helpful staff.
• great location in middle of everything.
• 2 taxi stops infront of the hotel (which is a must).

Epic fail in all ways. I arrived very early at 9:00am and yes I know that check in is at 3pm but I offered to pay extra for an early check in. But they said I had to wait. So I waited upstairs then waited in the bar area and then in the lobby- the hotel was fairly empty- I did see a few others check in after me and they got access to their room before I did. I feel like that shouldn’t happen and if so that they then at least give me an update on my room status - I was traveling for over 20 hours.

Once I finally got into my room, the lights didn’t work. You could tell this room was used recently. The poor bellman ran up and down changing the keys 3 times to get the lights to work. Management called me and said they would figure it out. I fell asleep and woke up 3 hours later still with no electricity. I called down and they said they forgot. Once I hung up they finally switched the lights on. Unbelievable. You should also know that elevators are very very slow, and the front desk at check out is very very slow. And on top of it they tried to charge me over 100€ more than what I booked on Expedia. My rate was 308.18 € and at checkout they were charging me 429€. They were confused and not sure how to handle. I told them to figure it out and email me with the correct bill. Location is great, but inside the hotel is very noisy because the hallways are all marble and you can hear everything plus the doors slamming. The bellman and the gym were the only positive to this property.

We arrived Friday evening and the staff were excellent you can’t fault them. We got upgraded to the top floor and deluxe suite but it turned out to be a disadvantage. Right above us was the rooftop bar and there was a movie event on. We went up and could swear to god that steven Spielberg was standing there. Anyway, got told we had to go back downstairs.

As for the room it was spacious for Rome just very noisy with the movie event on above us then outside our door led to the lifts from the rooftop so it got very noisy

The shower… imagine the scene in Elf where he’s trying to wash in the small showers and you get the idea
Can’t fault it other than that. Great staff, location is superb

This is not a 5star Luxury hotel.
My kids changed their room two times as wifi was not working in those rooms.
We had to change our room as well as it was very hot in the room as A/C was not working in the hotel.

Very good location for many sites. Very overpriced for what you get, a bed & a bathroom. Most of the staff were helpful & polite; some however were judgemental & thought themselves above their station of receptionist or bar tender. Obviously mini bar checks are not completed daily and I would suggest it was lucky I was there when a check was done otherwise I most likely would have been charged for content used by a previous guest. Not cool. There are many hotels in the area & I won't bother with this one next time.

The place and rooms are really nice yet the service is lacking. We only had few pieces of tissue in the bathroom which was not enough for half a day. After it finished it was not renewed in spite of telling them.
The 2nd floor corridors were noisy in the morning with doors slamming continuously.
They did not have the food available as per the menu when we ordered room service.

This Hotels living in the Past with it's 5 star rating, it certainly isn't. We had 2 rooms , one given to us was not even on a main Corridor , it was off near a service lift with hotel Trolleys and dirty carpets outside, inside not great. I showed the on Duty Hotel Manager the condition and we were quickly moved. The first night ,Saturday, a wedding was being held on the top Terrace, the one feature of the hotel worth noting but closed all evening to Hotel guests not mentioned until you went up there, so no one could eat in the Hotel. 2 small water glasses in the room and not replaced on the 2nd day, but in room Fridge had wine etc so had to request glasses, 5 star? !!

The hotel was nice but the air conditioning was just awful. We put the lowest temperature but the room never got cold. I would recommend to never stay in this hotel during warm and or hot humid times for Italy. Unfortunately, not a comfortable stay especially when sweating in your own room.

We liked the position of the breakfast area on the roof. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the many attractions in Rome. It is close to transport services too. The staff are very professional and friendly. One little down side for me - It seems to be a feature in other Italian hotels too, but I miss having an iron available in the room as well as tea/ coffee making facilities.

There were doing construction . And the hotel and the noise was awful. I asked I was work being done and the woman at the front desk said no . The noise was outside. So the next day the same thing. So it was really early in the morning. So I put something on in followed the noise to the5th floor. And made a video to show the woman. So then she was like she sorry about the noise. Put me in another room for the last night of my stay. Then one of the maids took my phone charger. Beautiful hotel. Great vacation overall. Just the noise and then acting like I was crazy!!

Never mind that the room is old, but there isn't even an American coffee machine or an iron. the bidet loses water from all sides and at 07.30 a.m. the workers begin to make noise and can no longer sleep. the most ridiculous thing of all is that if you go to the gym and ask for the towel, they ask you 3 euros for the rent of this. Avoid this hotel, it is definitely not worth the money they ask for the stay

Hotel is great. Rooms a little on the small side but more than enough space for one or two people to be comfortable. Bathrooms are nice and seem newly refurbished issue I had here during a business trip was the noise. It’s incredibly loud in the rooms. Doors slamming at all hours of the night and morning. I think some of it is due to the room door it self which has a gap on the bottom. 2am woken up by drunk holiday makers who decided the best place for a drunken loud night cap was in front of their rooms. 7am women again by a family or group getting their things together to leave. The staff were great hotel is great location but really was completely let down by the noise. Would otherwise rate 4-5 star.

the location of the hotel is perfect, but i asked to change the room because the room i got i didn't like the color and was a bit old, i paid for a bigger room and they put me in a smaller room, they didn't provide free water not even 1 bottle which most 5 star hotels do, and the breakfast buffet staff were horrible and constantly rushing everyone and were upset, they had bad customer service an we could not eat with comfort. it was me and my wife's honeymoon, and i didn't get anything special from them as all other hotels i stood in did. they did allow me a late checkout but keep in mind i paid for a larger room which didn't really balance it out.

Perfect location, friendly staff, nice size room..less than 10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Restaurants, banks, shopping, and metro station, this hotel is in the center of it all.

The room is a bit dated, but nice size and clean. The lobby is beautiful.

Nice hotel in a good location

Stayed at the Bernini with my Family for the weekend. Our flight arrived very late (after midnight), but we still had a warm welcome and swift check in. The room was ready with an extra bed and was clean.
The food (Breakfast) from room service was fine and timely.
The location was great to walk to all the sights but there is a subway station next door too. Lots of bars and restaurants in the area too.

The rooms were just okay for a 4 star hotel. I don't know if it is the type of room that was booked for me by hotels.com but my room had no fridge which i found very weird for a 4star hotel. The room was clean and prepared when i got there. It is not far from Köln central station(10-15min relaxed walk). If you decide to pay for the breakfast, you wont be disappointed.

Excellent hotel, well sited for many activities.

We booked a suite for a family of 4. The suite had three separate areas and gave our teenage children a lot of privacy. The hotel is next to a pick up for all of the bus tour companies and is a 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps or the Trevi fountain. We used a 2 day bus tour pass for all of our longer trips but could walk easily to all other locations and the major shopping sites.

Romantic, Accessible Location

The hotel is on a beautifully busy Piazza and across the street from a Metro stop. You can easily walk to the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, the Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps. I wish I had walked to the Quirinale Garden but it was snowing and then raining while we stayed! The hotel staff are excellent - opening doors, taking bags, offering recommendations. The breakfast buffet is ridiculously amazing; you can make Belgian waffles, sip a cappuccino or stay healthy with fresh fruit, bread and cheese. All delicious! Our room was perfectly opulent with a king size bed, desk, chairs, mini-fridge, robes, slippers, etc. My only disappointment was the very, very hard mattress and pillows. We have stayed at lots of wonderful hotels across Europe, but this brand will be on repeat. Sina - here we come!

The hotel should be rested a 3 star as room facilities very poor drinks and snacks in room were day light robbery have stayed many hotels throughout world with lesser ratings bit much more plesant

Good location and decent yet lacking some basics

Overall the hotel has strong advantages including location, originality and history but major weaknesses for what aspires to be a 5 star hotel. No coffee/tea in rooms, small TV with few channels, smallish rooms, no bath tub and other features you'd expect of a hotel of this price and caliber.

The only thing they could improve on is to update their in-house phone service...like wake-up calls, none available. I must comment that having a meal on the top floor was a great experience. The chef's were so talented and the food was great!

Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Rome

Hotel interior superb with excellent staff. Great location on piazza Bernini right by metro and walking distance to all main areas..
Rooms excellent and quiet
