Not the most helpful reception , didn’t get platinum perks at all .we asked for a late check out since they didn’t upgrade we assumed we would get at least this perk but no they requested 125,- $ for that which we payed. At one point receptionist ladies even wanted to see my expedia level which i showed but still they didn’t care.
Other than that hotel is an average 4 star keep expectations accordingly.

The reception staff were kind and professional at check in and gave us good recommendations for dining options in the hotel. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. The hotel is definitely faded grandeur. The best thing about it is its excellent location. Room was clean and bed comfy but every day the shower was only ever lukewarm; the door to my room didn't shut properly from the outside without being slammed very hard several times so in fact someone in housekeeping hadn't closed it properly. Staff are patchy - charming younger guy who was 5 star but others gruffer. Breakfast coffee wasn't great. Better to go to cafe Martorana few steps away. Too many big American tour groups.

The only main issue was the bell man (porter ) in the day. He was extremly rude not pleasant at all all my encounters with him. Rude to the taxi driver just dumped our bags in front of the taxi and general antipatico. I also gave him a tip. Rare in italy and he was not thankful at all. This is in contrast to the nighttime bellman/porter vialegge who could not have been more polite and more helpful

The building is a former bank and beautifully redone with spacious common areas. It is centrally located in the old part of Palermo with all tourist and amenities within easy reach. The staff was generally helpful. Dinner at the dining room, which we very much wanted to try, was sadly not good. my appetizer was I think spoiled and inedible. Really shame, because again the space is lovely and really deserves a better kitchen.

We would definitely stay here again, but probably eat at one of the dozens of restaurants nearby.

Given that it was my first time to Palermo, I didn't know what to expect regarding our accommodations at the Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa. Upon entering the lobby, we knew it was going to be indeed \"grand\" and live up to its name. The staff was both helpful and friendly and our deluxe double rooms were much larger than one normally encounters in Europe. The hotel is perfectly situated in an area where everything is convenient - from restaurants and bars to shopping and major local attractions.

We had a minor maintenance issue during our stay, but it was promptly repaired as soon as we alerted the front desk. More importantly though, this is a hotel where the staff is willing to go above and beyond. When we encountered an issue with our rental car while parking to check in, the hotel General Manager Signore Tintori personally intervened on our behalf, especially valuable since none of us spoke Italian. He quickly diffused the situation and alleviated a problem that could have escalated. He even took the time to follow up the next day to ensure everything was in good order. We couldn't have managed without his assistance.

Without hesitation, we would return to this property when visiting Palermo again.

I expect more from a 5 star hotel. We tried room service one day and the toast was burnt, coffe stale, etc. But it's a good choice for a Palermo base camp if you go out to eat.

Excellent hotel. I have a gluten sensitivity and am also a diabetic on a blood sugar sensor. I am nearly impossible to feed. There were abundant gf options on the breakfast buffet, and I was also able to get a hot gf breakfast prepared for me. The omelets were delicious, and I could get a cappuccino every morning, all included. The wait staff was knowledgeable about gluten and kept me safe. I got a hot stone massage at the hotel spa. It was excellent, and inexpensive. In general, the hotel is beautiful, and architecturally interesting. My room was very comfortable, and the view from my room is in the hotel brochure. I highly recommend this hotel.

The experience was truly disappointing. The towels were worn and torn, and the hair dryer seemed extremely outdated—likely from decades ago. I’ve traveled to Europe over 15 times, and I’ve never stayed at a hotel that didn’t offer an espresso machine. Here, they only provided a basic coffee maker that boils water, and you’re expected to use instant coffee.

At breakfast, when I requested salt and pepper, they were provided in single-serve packets, which felt a bit underwhelming. The bathroom setup was inconvenient, with a bathtub and no fixed showerhead, only a handheld option.

Overall, I’d have to rate this hotel as one star.

Beautiful hotel in old stock exchange building, very convenient to explore historic Palermo on foot- just off the main pedestrian steet with lots of restaurants. Rooms are spacious and clean.
A few items lower my rating- there was no toilet paper in the room on arrival had to ask for them to provide. The room was freezing cold even with air conditioning turned off cold air came through vents - we had to open windows but had to close at night or it would be too noisy. Steer noise in evening but it got quiet by midnight. Also internet was not available in the room even though we made multiple attempts to log in- no signal- had to sit on a chair down the hallway or in lobby to get internet.

A big wonderful old building that was converted from a bank. My gripe is that traveling solo I was given the runt of the litter as rooms go. After complaining a lot - and the strength of the tour I joined - I was given a very nice room and would rank the hotel much higher if they hadn't played games with me to begin with. At the end of the tour, I returned to the hotel for one night and they tried to give me the same unacceptable room (323 or 332). I ended up with an OK room but the shower was so small, one had to squat to pick up shampoo... too small to bend over. Breakfast buffet was satisfactory. Dinner disappointing.

GHPB is a beautiful older hotel centrally located yet quiet. It has a beautiful courtyard with a fountain. The buffet breakfast has meat, cheese, oked fish and you can squeeze your own orange juice. One of my favorite hotels in the eorld.

There is a surcharge for use of the hotel spa and sauna which is quite expensive per hour. This is unusual for a hotel rated four stars. The swimming pool is not located on the premises but at a sister hotel some distance away, again disappointing for a four star rated hotel.

Excellent property in the heart of Palermo. I stayed here only for 1 night but their room was nice - not very spacious, but good enough for a single occupant. I loved the central area inside the hotel that's partially open to the sky. Nice place to sit and relax. The internet connection is good. Breakfast was good and staff at breakfast were prompt and welcoming. Their reception staff was a bit underprepared and i felt thry should not have asked for my credit card especially if i had slready paid in advance. The girl at the front desk told me in a jocular vein, \"This is just for security. What if you run away?\". I didnt know whether to laugh it off or to be disappointed. Maybe i should have adjed her, \"What if you guys didn't live up to my expectations?\" Would you give me a refund! Some silly policies they have which unfortunately makes an otherwise good stay bittersweet.

The night we checked there was no water. The desk manager assured us it would take no more than 15 minutes to resolve because it was due to someone turning the water off. More than 1.5 hours later, water finally flowed and it was absolutely disgusting It was still brown and full of particles the following morning. We were at the hotel fir an entire day before being able to shower.
Later we were informed that the problem was in the entire hotel so the time estimate for repair was a total misrepresentation.
The front desk staff were rude during the entire stay but the bell staff and restaurant staff were extremely pleasant

Perfect hotel, lovely and clean. Rooms amazing, really large and quite. They had a pianist in the lobby to stop and have a drink which was nice. The area of the hotel is perfect walking distance to all attractions but also can get to all the main bus route in a 2 min walk. Streets surrounding hotel is great for nightlife, loads of bars and restaurants but you can't hear it in the hotel which was great.Also lots of secruity as the bank is opposite so there were always people from the army around the area. I felt safe being by myself late at night as it's always a busy area. Only suggestion would be skip the breakfast and go to the bakery round the corner, great coffee and pistachio croissants!

There were a couple of negatives. First, the hallways on our floor were a bit worn and required some updating. Second, there were only 3 English language channels in the TV programming. Otherwise, this was a very nice hotel which guarantees a pleasant stay.

The property was good and location convenient. The WiFi did not work in the room so I had to work in the lobby area. While there I was having a drink and working when the waiter came shouting at me. I tried to explain that I had to check email and make calls and he told me go to go to my room because I could not be drinking a beverage that was not purchased onsite. I told him to charge me for a drink so I could continue working. I have never been spoken to in this manner by hotel staff. Uncalled for and completely unprofessional.
