Room was great. It could get a little noisy downstairs but area is excellent. Air conditioner broke down and administrator was notified in the am. When I got back to the room the AC was not fixed. As a courtesy they should have let me know but it didn’t happen. I had to message them and ask.

Kala Rooms were clean and in a good location close to the harbour and main shopping/eating old town tourism areas. The breakfast worked well across the plaza in front of Kala Rooms, with a hotel-provided coupon to a pastry shop for a wide variety of delicious fresh pastries and coffees.

Loved my stay from beginning to end.

Self check-in was very smooth.

The room was HUGE by European standards.

The bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was served at a bistro/cafe just a minute’s walk from the door of the property.

The area around the property was lively, yet quiet. There were dozens and dozens of dining options within a ten-minute walk of the property.

I truly can’t say enough good things about the property.

We liked the property in general. The location was great and unit was clean and spacious. Few things to be aware of, the toilet is on septic tank and make loud noise when using water, there is some smell but not too bad. The units are using very narrow and steep stairs so not easy to take big bags up but manageable if careful. Having said that the location plus and clean unit overcame the negatives. House cleaning was also great.

These were nice rooms located in a great part of town. We really liked the walkability and great food at our doorstep. Hot water was iffy but tolerable. Daily housekeeping was a nice touch as was tickets for breakfast at cafe. Very good

Surprisingly spacious room and bathroom, spotlessly clean in quiet pedestrianised street. 4 good eating options within 100 metres, and don’t miss the gelato and cakes at Bar Luca. Internet did
not work for us, but easy to get on in the street via Palermo commune site!

We enjoyed our stay at Kala. The room was spacious and in easy location to the many street dining options and supermarket. Staff were polite and helpful providing any information required. Take the open air bus and little train to see the city.

It was extremely hot and the air conditioning, even after they corrected it, was not cooling as we expected. Low cooling system- might be what’s appropriate for the property.

I absolutely loved my stay at Kala Rooms! The manager and employees were very kind and accommodating. The room was much bigger than I anticipated, and was very clean and comfortable. The terrace above the dining areas of the two restaurants below was awesome, and provides the feeling of deeper immersion in the Sicilian culture to hear the sounds below, including live music at times from local musicians. I really enjoyed Cafe Luca across the street where the breakfast meal tickets are for. Overall, Kala Rooms made for a fabulous stay. Highly recommended.

We loved staying at Kala Rooms. Our room and bathroom were spacious and very clean with high quality linen and towels. The reception made it possible to leave our bags after we arrived early. The rooms are in a very central location. The local area is bustling but the room is quiet and dark with quality shutters and windows. Reception offered great suggestions for local eating. Breakfast off site was simple and delicious. We are planning to stay again next time we are in Palermo.

Nice but beware, there are many stairs no lift.

Very nice small hotel near the harbour. Breakfast was good @ the cafe across the street. Lots of fantastic restos on the piazza. Close to the HOHO bus.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was quite hard to find, no large sign. Beware of the taxi from the airport. It's on a meter and they will take you on a wild tour of Palermo.

We arrived on an early ferry from Naples and walked 20 minutes to Piazza Marina knowing that the front desk person wouldn’t be there until 9:30am. He showed up right on time and let us check in early which was great! The room and bathroom were wonderful - our only criticism was that it was very noisy on a Friday night and the window in our room had no curtain or way to keep out the street light! The front desk person was very good at explaining the city and recommending places to go. We really enjoyed our stay in Palermo!

Lovely modern B&B in central Palermo

This is a fabulous B&B right in the centre of Palermo. The rooms are modern, spacious and immaculately clean. Ruggero is a great guy - very helpful and welcoming. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance of the B&B - the cathedral, churches and shopping area or you can just walk around and soak up the atmosphere in the many cafes. Would definitely stay there again if we go back some day.

Just What We Wanted

The rooms at Kala Rooms are immaculate, comfortable, and furnished with taste. The rooms feature original oil paintings reminiscent of the KOBAR school. The WIFI works perfectly, and a variety of other technologies are employed to save both water and energy.

But the rooms are a distant second to the people. Davide and Roger are gracious, accommodating gentlemen who made us feel welcome and wanted. I would recommend Kala Rooms in a heartbeat.

Wonderful place to stay

Kala Rooms is a gorgeous little place, right on the Piazza Marina in the heart of Palermo. The rooms are fresh and bright, clean and spacious. The ensuite shower room is large and well-equipped.

We absolutely loved the coffee and croissant included in the price. Walk across the sunlit piazza to the cafe where you can take your breakfast and watch the Palermitans getting ready for the day.

Kala Rooms is well placed for all the attractions of Palermo at the end of Vittorio Emmanuele. Ten minutes’ walk to the Four Corners.

Want to try some traditional Sicilian street food? The place that’s mentioned in all the guide books is right there on your doorstep! It is very popular so get there early!

Davide, our host, was so friendly and helpful. He gave us excellent recommendations for dinner - don’t be put off by the creepy hooded figure on the promotional material for Beati Pauli pizza place: the food is amazing.

We would definitely recommend this little gem!

The hotel has a great location near a park, the centre and close to attractions. The room was nice and tidy with a nice balcony. A fridge with a bottle of water and coffee/tea was nice.

Communication was fine via WhatsApp, that translates language. You need to send your personal data (tourist tax) before even meeting a person, which is strange.

A big downside of this place is breakfast. I have been in 5 different hotels in Palermo and have never experienced to be given a ticket for breakfast at a local cafe. When we came (8 o’clock in the morning) we couldn’t even order the food on the list (a staff member said it would take 1-2 hours before it wa ready). We are not picky eaters, but the only thing we could have, that wasn’t sweet cake, was toasts. Huge thumbs down.

Other than that it was an ok hotel. But I would most likely chose another place next time.

Hotellet ligger skønt og centralt ved en lille plads. Personalet er søde og hjælpsomme, værelset var rent og moderne og havde alt vi behøvede og lille køleskab. Familieværelset, som vi havde, er stort og rummeligt til en familie med to børn. Der er dog ikke balkon og kun et mindre vindue.

Great for travelers who is going by train or boat!

We stayed only one night and for such a short time it was great. Even though we came late and the reception wasn’t open they had a really good and simple way of checking in. The information was excellent!
The room were clean and we had everything we needed. And there is a really nice long street with a lot of restaurants right outside so it was simple to go out for a dinner late at night with children.

Vi fikk et rom uten vindu, noe vi ikke var klar over på forhånd. AC var veldig svak og kjølte ikke ned rommet i det hele tatt. Det var uutholdelig varmt og det ble dessverre altfor dårlig søvn her, noe som gjorde oppholdet lite komfortabelt. Vi fikk beskjed om at ikke noe var galt med AC, så antar dette er hva man kan forvente seg ved et opphold her. Ellers var det rent og beliggenheten er bra med rolig med gangavstand til en liten strand.

Camera nuovissima, di buon gusto e di pulizia impeccabile. Con un comodo bagno e piacevole affaccio sulla via. Cortese la gestione. Zona vivace e ottimo punto di partenza per le visite della città o come sosta breve per lavoro.
Noi abbiamo segnato il nome tra i i nostri preferiti su Palermo e lo consiglieremo di certo.
Unica cosa da segnalare la presenza di una rampa di scale importante per l'accesso alle camere che per qualcuno può rappresentare un problema.

A Perfect Stay in the Heart of Palermo

Our stay in Palermo was made even more memorable by this charming room thanks to its unbeatable location, perfectly located right in front of a charming piazza. Waking up to the lively yet peaceful atmosphere was a true delight, with the sounds of the city slowly coming to life just outside our window. The room itself was beautifully designed, but the real standout feature was the bathroom—the gorgeous tiles added a unique and elegant touch, adding a lovely charm to the space.

One of the loveliest surprises was receiving two breakfast vouchers for a local bar just across from the piazza. Starting our mornings with a perfect Sicilian pastry and a rich espresso while taking in the vibrant street scene was the ideal way to soak up the local culture. Everything about this stay, from the unbeatable location to the thoughtful details, made it an unforgettable experience. I would absolutely stay here again!
