Excellent little b&b especially for the price - Very impressed! Couldnt fault how clean it was, very friendly owners, little extras in our room (tissues, a fan, fridge, shampoo and conditioner), great transport (buses outside every 10mins), walking distance to the seafront, local pub, and many restaurants. Internet was good. We didnt have long enough to do lots but were lots of places nearby that i would love to come back and see. Looking forward to staying again soon, wouldnt definately come back! Thankyou Clare and Stuart for a lovely stay :-)

Excellent hosts - Claire and Stuart are very warm, caring and lovely to stay with.

We stayed for 7 nights. A good size room and choice of full English breakfast or omelettes with as much tea/coffee/juice as you wanted although I would have liked some fruit .The Host Clare was very friendly and adhered to the Covid rules.
The only item lacking was a dressing table mirror.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Good value for money

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in all the world. Clare and Stuart are incredibly friendly, down to earth hard working hosts and nothing is a problem. Simple things like going out of their way to get ice so we could have a g&t in our room! Ok so it’s a cross between a B&B and a hotel with 80’s decor in some areas that needs updating but it adds to the character of what is essentially a stunning property. And most of all the hotel is immaculately clean - Clare and Stuart take so much pride in everything they do. Breakfast excellent. Parking limited but off road, free parking on road opposite. Location great - 5 mins walk to Torre station, 15 min walk to seafront/town downhill or the no. 12 bus is regular. Superb value stay - will definitely stay again. Thank you so much Clare and Stuart 😀

Ashwood Grange 3 Night Stay

Nice character hotel, Well managed and clean. Our room was satisfactory and ready on arrival. The bed was comfortable and tastefully decorated and shower room clean. Clair is very welcoming and helpful and very attentive to your needs. A great full English breakfast each day, well cooked by Stuart and presented by Clair. Restricted parking space but easy overcome. We would be happy to stay again. A satisfied customer.

Top Torbay Trip

Claire was friendly, helpful and welcoming, and left me to enjoy my stay and the local area. The room was spotless, comfortable, warm and with everything you would need. I slept like a baby and the breakfast was more than adequate. I will definitely be returning at some point, as Torbay is a magnificent area to explore and relax, and there are very high quality places to stay like this for such a reasonable price.

Fantastic stay at a homely hotel

We have just returned from a four night stay here. We couldn't fault the hotel and the hosts Clare and Stuart were very knowledgeable about the area. They made us feel very relaxed throughout our stay and were always keen to assist when needed.
We would definitely recommend buying a £5 day ticket for the number 12 bus which allows you to travel to Brixham and Paignton. Another tip is to buy a £12.40 day ticket for the train (station is at bottom of the street) which allows you to visit the whole of Devon!
We will definitely stay back here 😊

Situated on main Newton Road so easy to get in & out of town. Bus stop outside makes it easy to get into town centre otherwise a 10 minute downhill walk but uphill back!

Lots of tourist leaflets available & owners knowledgeable about local places to visit & happy to recommend & give directions.

Very friendly & attentive owners. Excellent morning breakfast cooked to order & with plenty of choice.

Ashwood Grange was OK and Clare was very helpful. Breakfast was good and the room satisfactory. Downside was some very tight off street parking, and dodgy WiFi. I had occasion to make a Viber out call to Australia at 11:00 PM UK time, and the call kept dropping in and out and eventually dropped out all together. The WiFi connection was very slow and frustrating.

Wonderful B&B a short walk from the sea front and town.
Owners were great and very helpful.
Breakfasts were yummy with a nice selection of both cooked and continental.

Great Hotel - Lovely Hosts!

Last stayed here 4 years ago and had such a good time I booked another 4 day break this month. I was not disappointed. A very warm welcome from the hosts Clare and Stuart and the room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast choices at the hotel are excellent and the Full English is delicious. The hotel is ideally located for the town and local transport links and has a pleasant lounge and garden for guests. It is like a home from home and I will definitely return later this year.

Very friendly, clean, comfortable and well managed.
Breakfast was great, and owners are very helpful and pleasant.
Only negative is it is on a main road, so can be a bit noisy if you leave windows open.
To get to town / sea, either get bus or a 15/20 minute walk.
Also very near Torre station.

Motorbike tour of Torquay

Brilliant little b & b run by a fantastic couple. We were on a motorbike tour and as bikers they mafe us feel very welcome. The room was spotless clean and breakfast was great. Nothing was too much bother for them. We would highly recommend the Ashwood Grange to anyone as we would definitely stop again.

Perfect home away from home

Enjoyed a wonderful 4 days in Torquay, the hotel is in a perfect location close to the town centre and beaches. Provides parking so we had no worries parking the car somewhere. Hotel room was clean, tidy with nice views over Torquay. The hotel is next to a main road but our room was at the back of the building and it was always peaceful and quiet. The owners were polite, friendly and very accomdating, willing to go out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and special. For breakfast there is a large choice of things to eat and the full English was very tasty, again owners were always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. I would happily recommend the Ashwood Grange to friends and family and would book again next time we come to Torquay in the future.

Well worth a stay!

I found the stay at this B&B was excellent, and will not hesitate in recommending it.

Time in Torquay

The sloping car parking off a busy road demanded care. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Hanging space in the room was restricted in width and height and the shower did not drain quickly enough (but I managed as I had pool shoes with me). The breakfast was very good. I am not used to traffic noise, but there was not much on the road at night and I used earplugs and slept well.

This was my second stay at Ashwood Grange Guest House although only had 4 day weekend break
i enjoyed my stay very much thanks to Clare & Stuart, as my first stay the place is spotlessly clean.
Mine room was first class and big enough for me and again it was very clean and tidy, my room was
at the front so there was some traffic noise but it did not bother me at all a most enjoyable weekend
and i will return here again in the near future.

Weekend Anniversary break.

This is a lovely guesthouse and was made to feel very welcome from the start. Nothing was too much trouble. Even left some champagne glasses in our room when they found out it was our anniversary and we had a bottle to celebrate. It's only a 10 - 15 minute walk down to the harbour or the bus stops right outside.

Relaxing weekend

Very comfortable, relaxing stay. The owners are friendly and when we booked in they said come and go as you please and we did just that with our only interaction being at breakfast. Perfect for us but the down side is that breakfast is only available between 8.30 and 9am which on a weekend away is far too early and restrictive although the breakfast was good, with ample choice of hot and cold selections, but the sausages were not of good quality.
