Midweek getaway

Had a fantastic stay for a couple nights. Nothing was to much trouble and the rooms were so clean and tidy with some lovely little touches. When we arrived a little early it was no trouble at all and was made so welcome.
Would definitely recommend staying as we would stay again.

Lovely welcome as always from Yvonne & Jamie on our return to Mount Edgcombe.
Extremely clean rooms with great breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. The position of this B&B is ideal for Torquay & Paignton.
We will be looking forward to our next stay which we are already planning.

Our hidden gem

We had an amazing weekend stay with Yvonne and Jamie. They were so hospitable and friendly. It's the small things, plus the attention to detail that count. We celebrated our anniversary, and they really helped to make the day special, with little treats at breakfast. We would definitely stay again and recommend this guest house to anyone. You won't be disappointed. Our very own hidden gem, with a 5-star personal touch - thank you guys!

Fabulous Guest House.

The owners were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. The property was spotless. Excellent stay. If I had to say anything negative, and that is difficult, the mattress was too soft for me. Would definitely come here again.

Obviously things had been adapted due to the current situation, but it didn’t stop them still being extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was very clean. We only had breakfast, but this was very tasty, and cooked perfectly to different preferences. Would highly recommend.

This place is amazing! So clean and the staff really can not do enough for you. Nice little 10 min wall to the beach front. The rooms are so spacious and clean. I could not recommend this place enough if you stay in Torquay we will be back. Thank you for making us feel Wellcome and at ease during the pandemic.

Had a great stay even if it was for 1 night, clare was very friendly and accomodating.had a twin room as they were fully booked but that was fine,room was very clean , bright and fresh beds were very comfotable.they made great use of the space in the room.breakfast was lovely and hot (full english) along with a variety of pastries,cereal and fresh fruit .we will definitely stay again and for longer next time and might even get to see some of Torquay as it was just an overnight visit for a 60th birthday . Great stay, We could not fault it in anyway, very helpful. And if your worried its a little bit to far to walk to the town centre, a taxi cost £5 Either that or a nice walk of about 50min to the town centre, or 25min to the beach.

Simply Sublime

Located ten minutes walk from the beach, this hotel has a great location but its excellent, attentive staff are by far the best quality. Very conscious of our food intolerances and incredibly friendly, the couple that run the place chat to every single one of their guests and are just fantastically welcoming. Full of helpful local knowledge and willing to call in local favours too (they offered to ring a local taxi firm and try to get a discount rather than let another guest at the hotel struggle with the trains).
The room was comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was of a good quality with a powerful shower (I love a power shower).
Breakfast time is a little short (just an hour) but it makes you get up and get going and you will, because you don't want to miss out on the cooked breakfast you can get yourself.
All in all, a fantastic place to stay. Next time I'm in the area, I will be coming here.

Spot on place to stay in Torquay

From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Claire - I was made to feel welcome and looked-after. My room was big with a truly King Size bed that was comfy so with that and the total peace I slept like a log!
Breakfast by Dave was tasty and generous so set me up for the day ahead for sure.
I loved the decor and the bathroom had a great shower and not one of those silly electric things - it was a full on soaking!
The location is also great with just a 5min walk to the sea front and on to great places to eat and watch the bay. If they have availability - snap it up!

We stayed at the Mount Edgcombe Hotel - Guest house during a business trip to Devon for four nights, the hotel is professionally run and a short walk into the centre of Torquay. We booked two rooms and four managers stayed throughout.
Our rooms were immaculate and maintained on a daily basis, comfortable and generous in size with a good range of facilities.
The hosts David and Pam were really friendly and helpful, and we were made very welcome, they really did go that extra mile.
Breakfast was great freshly prepared and made to order, lots of choice and one not to be missed. I highly recommend the hotel .

jaccuzzi was fine,don't get in if your unfit for me the bed was a bit soft but fine for my wife.Cleanliness was excellent. Breakfast was very good,full English plus cereals smoothies etc owners and staff cheerful and helpful.It's pretty hilly around the hotel but taxis are cheap enough if you go out. I was a bit suspicious of the the good reviews I read but ther'e all true, would recommend to anybody

Ideal location for getting to all the local attractions e.g.beach,harbour,town centre and for traveling to the
adjacent resorts.
The owner Pam will do all she can to make your stay a happy one.I mentioned I had an interest in art
and the next day there were brochures in our room showing details of local art shows.
We had a very happy week in a comfortable quiet room with a very large soft bed.
Sat nav users will find that to get onto Avenue road you should take the right hand road and not go
straight on as directed which takes you to the left of Avenue road.

Amazing!

You must stay here. There was nothing to complain about it certainly had the WOW factor! Our bed was huge, the room and en suite were absolutely spotless and as for the breakfast well I won't say anymore just book in and find out for yourself.Vwithin walking distance of the sea and shops.

What a super place to stay our daughter booked us a short break at the Mount Edgcombe Hotel - Guest house in Torquay and we were extremely pleased with everything. Sufficent parking, lovely clean rooms a very friendly greeting and an excellent breakfast with lots of choices. we will most definitely make a return visit.

Warm welcome

After a very warm welcome where we were instantly made to feel at home, we took a pleasant 10 minute walk to the marina. Returnig after an evening meal to relax in the comfortable lounge with a couple of G&T's from the well stocked bar.
Very friendly and comfortable, excellent breakfast.

Lovely hotel, close to Torre Abbey.

The hotel, was extremely clean and comfortable. The owners were welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. It was close to Torre Abbey and the Riviera Centre and within easy walking distance of the centre of Torquay. I would highly recommend this hotel and will book again when I am next in the area. We were lucky in our allocation of room as the en suite was quite luxurious with a Jacuzi (for two) and a large shower. Ample towels of the good quality. and after making use of these, we partook of a wonderful breakfast. Our hosts were very informative of the surrounding area and had numerous leaflets for our daily excursions. A must is the trip by boat to Dartmout.. This is our first holiday in the UK for some time but has made us pause to think of other UK destinations Thank you Pam & Roy for a pleasant stay

Great for a short break

The hotelier was really friendly, when we arrived he showed us to our room then made us a very welcome cup of tea (with cake)! He was very helpful with local information and very approachable.
The room (and bathroom) was spotlessly clean - we had the room with the whirlpool bath which was fab. I scored the room a 4 as I would have preferred a king bed to a double however the bed very comfortable, and there was ample space to hang/put away your things.
Breakfast was good and plentiful - and exactly what we ordered (you have a choice card to complete the night before). They also do evening meals and packed lunches, we did not have these but it was nice to know this service was available.
I would certainly consider staying here again.

Litet B&B som drev av ett trevligt par. God frukost, men endast mellan 8.15-9.15. Vi hade ett mkt litet rum med queensize säng. Ska FU bo där flera nätter rekommenderar jag att du bokar ett större rum med kingsizesäng. Nys handdukar var 4:e dag. Kakor första dagen på rummet. Tar ca 14 minuter att gå ner till havet och sen ytterligare en stund längst vattnet när man letar lämplig restaurang för kvällen.
