The food at the brasserie was very average, steak was over cooked and side dishes were cold. We had bread that was just lightly toasted and seemed not appropriate in a restaurant that brands itself as fine dining. The service was very slow despite the restaurant not being busy, took over 20 minutes to order a drink, and we waited a long time for our bill. Tables in the restaurant and bar area were left uncleared and dirty for a long time.
Breakfast was also very disappointing, it was a very basic continental selection and then a selection of egg on toast which was £25pp. We chose not to have breakfast after our first day as we were not happy.
The pool and hot tub were cold despite being advertised as heated and was a shame that as hotel guests we had to pay to use those facilities.
Shame about the food and facilities as the actual room we stayed in and the grounds were lovely!

The brasserie food was amazing in the restaurant but the service was terrible. We had a 40 minute wait between finishing our main and being offered a desert menu.
The main problem was that we chose this hotel as it had a later check out time of 11am. However on approaching the hotel at 6pm we saw road closure signs starting at 9.30 the next morning for a half marathon. This meant that we had to leave at 9am to avoid the road closure or we would’ve been stuck at the hotel until 12.30pm. If we had known this at the time of booking then we would not have booked this hotel

Once you’ve entered the golfing complex the directions for Hotel Car park are not obvious, an events car park is the first parking you arrive at. It’s frustrating that the hotel car park is accessed via an obscure entrance.

Absolute gem of a hotel. Staff were amazing! Clean, very comfortable rooms and the food was excellent. Lovely quiet rural setting just outside of Norwich. If you are a golfer this is worth checking out. I also used the spa whilst there and again fantastic staff and great services.

Stayed for business, having been here a couple of times over the last few years. The staff are very polite, helpful and friendly and the hotel is lovely. Well maintained with very good facilities including the Brasserie and more casual sports bar.

The only minor issue was the lack of an iron and board in my room, and the air conditioning set rather low. The latter didn't really matter as the bed was very warm and comfortable.

Excellent as always. This has been my go to hotel when travelling to the area for the past 15 years. The only criticism is that breakfast is maybe lacking a little. The continental choice should have fresh croissants and a slightly better all round selection. Apart from that minor criticism I would definitely recommend the Barnham Broom

Christmas at Barnham Broom

5 day stay over Christmas in a junior suite. The food and service was excellent. Good location for exploring the Norfolk coastline and Norwich. If any complaint, the main lobby doorway and through the court yard to accomodation should be automatic as it was very difficult to get suitcases through and we noticed other people struggling as well. Lots of stairs to drag suitcases up and down and no offer of help from reception for people on their own.

2 day business trip. Overall ok, a few points; social areas very nice, modern, comfortable however the rooms and corridors really quite dated now (very dark veneer/painted wood). Carpets well overdue a replacement or at least a proper clean.
The room was comfortable, clean but again ready for a re-fresh. No iron in the room but housekeeping quickly delivered one.
Restaurant was nice, food beautifully presented but wow the price, way too expensive.
Breakfast extremely nice.
Overall nice but at these prices needs to be better.

This is the 2nd time I have used Barnham Broom. Lovely clean room. On arrival I was told breakfast was £20 if I booked now but I chose to pay as I go and was then charged £15 in the restaurant. Also charged 10% on top of my evening meal bill for 'service charge'. I wouldn't mind but I had to order my drink and then my meal from the bar. No waiter service at all from the table I was sat at. Stayed 3 nights and all 3 evenings I chose a table to sit at for a meal and on all 3 occasions, the table needed cleaning. A lovely place to stay but staff could do with keeping on top of the seating area cleanliness as this is not a cheap place to stay.

Last minute trip to Norwich. Hotel booked on day of stay. Nice hotel with great views. Room was comfortable as was bed. Bathroom adequate and clean. Sports bar food was good. A nice place with a relaxing atmosphere, lovely spa and good Vegan options considering. Its a little out in the middle of nowhere but that just means its a quiet place to stay and the staff were helpful and lovely.
As a note for Disabled visitors, the building was designed in the 70s so there are steps to go into the bar and in the gym and pool so though the staff are helpful.

The service, hotel itself and amenities are fantastic.
I’ve been for business but have recommended to lots of family and friends as a lovely place for an escape!
Really reasonable price for what you get.
Pool, gym and sauna are a lovely treat!
The restaurant and food is always lovely and they’re really understanding and I feel assured when I told them about my requests on food. Special shout out to the waiter that took my order and served our table - he couldn’t do enough to help and was so warm and welcoming!
The rooms are so clean and the beds are super comfy - also had a lovely bath and powerful shower.
Whoever the receptionist is on arrival, you’re always greeted with a warm welcome.

I obviously didn't read the small print when booking as I wasn't aware you'd be charged for the use of the leisure facilities and that it was a continental breakfast.
Food was a little more expensive than I'm use to but was good. Only other issue was the bathroom as although clean & well equipped, the toilet to a lot of effort to flush and the bath water came out as a trickle (shower was ok)

This stay was so relaxing. We stayed for 2 nights and booked spa treatments which was a highlight of the trip.

The Superior Room was perfect, the bed was HUGE and so comfy, we fell asleep instantly both nights. We had a TV and a convenient fridge. The room was really peaceful. The only downside is the hairdryer wasn't great and the toilet handle was broken.

To pre-warn other guests there are some unexpected fees. To use the health facilities (spa and gym), it's £7.50pp for the whole trip, but is worth it. For breakfast, you get continental which wasn't great. I have an allergy so couldn't eat much. The second day we paid extra for a cooked breakfast which was just okay. Cooked breakfasts are £7.50pp extra, each time. The breakfast was the only let down from the trip.

On the first night we went to The Brasserie, which was magical! It is expensive but so so worth it. The food is outstanding! The gentleman who served us was great with my allergy.

On the second night we went to The Sports Bar, which was chilled. We ate and watched football. The food again was very good.

The staff were warm and friendly! They are a highlight of the stay. From bar staff, cleaners, receptionists and spa staff they were great!

The location is peaceful but there's not much around unless you play golf or are willing to drive. So 2 nights was perfect. We can't wait to return! Totally recommend and worth the 4 hour drive!
