The complex had lots of character. The beds were very comfortable and big. The linens were changed every day. There were free kayaks on site and the ocean was on the property. Great to see sunsets. There were places to sit, places to dock boats, and covered areas to eat. There was even a hammock! It was close to everything in Key Largo!

The rooms are small but clean. It is an older property. I've been going here for over 20 years. The outside is why you go here. The beach area is cleaned daily with amazing sand, docks, and the best water to relax or snorkel in. Kayaks are included, too! This is a great place. They also have a communal washer/dryer to clean clothes; it takes quarters.

We. Absolutely LOVED staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got discounts on local food and a pamphlet on things to do in the area. The rolms were clean with working A/C in both rooms. Worked so well we were cold in FL so that was nice. Private beach was beautiful to watch sunsets and water was clean perfect to swim in. We swam alllll day! They had floaties and boogie boards (which we left one there for others to use!) Cbaora on the docks and plenty of seating. They come out early to fluff the sand and clean up the grounds. Their cleaning staff was on top of the rooms and the location was center to everything. I dont have any complaints but if I could suggest anything it would be to make the bathrooms a little bigger and add the second half of the shower glass to the shower so water doesnt get everywhere.

The office closes at 9 PM and they have an emergency number to call, not your traditional hotel. The rooms are very small but cozy. Take a look at the rooms, it may or may not suit your needs. Property has access to a boat ramp and that's really good if you own a boat.
Property has no pool, there is, however; access to a small beach which is great. I feel the price is a bit higher for what the property has to offer.

The rooms were cute and they came through daily and replaced whatever was needed. Kayaks are available for use. All you need to do is sign a waiver. There is a 2hr time limit as there are limited amt available but there was always a couple on shore while we were there. The beach was beautiful and they have 3 docks available for use on the property. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Cottage in Key Largo. The views of Florida Bay were absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset. The waterfront location provides a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that is hard to beat. The property offered excellent value for the price, making it one of the best deals we’ve found in the Keys.
One of the biggest advantages is being on the bay side rather than the Atlantic side. During our stay, there was no sargassum seaweed to deal with, which made enjoying the shoreline and water much more pleasant. The bayfront setting was clean, scenic, and perfect for relaxing.

The grounds were very nice and the room was cute. However, Beware of the fact that the staff leaves at night, and does not return until after 7:30 the next morning. A circuit breaker was tripped in my room ,and i had to locate the breaker box and reset it to restore power to the room . There were after hour numbers to call however, the lady at the check-in desk told me that I would probably wake somebody up if I called after hours and that would anger them, so I avoided that .
Lastly, a group of people came in and took over the whole beach property during the night, they were loud abusive, and I’m not even sure if they were staying at the hotel. Because there was no one at the hotel this could not be reported ,so I had to go into my room for the rest of the night to avoid these people. The room was very affordable, but obviously not having a night person on site kept the cost down ,not a good trade-off, I won’t be coming back.

This was our first stop road tripping to Key West. We chose older establishments to get the real experience. Our cottage was clean and comfortable with an excellent beach. We sat on the dock and watched an amazing sunset. I imagine it’s been that way for a long time!

Check in was easy and the man at the front desk was fantastic. However, the room was not clean. There were SEVERAL bugs crawling all over the wicker nightstand and onto the bed. There was hair all over the bathroom and shower floor. The bedroom floor was also not clean and filled with old clothing tags, water bottle caps, along with basic dirt, dust and grime. We vacated the property and stayed elsewhere.

We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. It’s a very lovely, vintage property on the West side of Key Largo. A person needs to only walk a short distance down to their private beach nightly to catch the sunset. There are three docks with chairs set to watch the beautiful show of colors. We were in the economy size room so expected a small space. We also knew we would be near the busier highway, but that did not bother us. Frankly, the air conditioner, drowned out that noise. So just know the air conditioner is quite loud, but we were able to turn it off and on as needed. Plus, we were not there that much only in the evenings and early mornings. We had a very cute private covered entry. We were there for six nights. Overall, even though there were three other rooms around us, it felt very private. We didn’t hear anybody else next to us. Parking is on site right next to your room pretty much every night. There are walkable restaurants nearby which was a huge perk too. The staff were very helpful, nice and accommodating. I can’t say enough about them really!

I myself enjoy peace and light interaction with people making Key Largo perfection. We spent time fishing, Everglades and Key West for the day. Highly recommend. While this property was adequate, there were a number of annoyances we encountered in our 5 night stay. The toilet was clogged upon our arrival. Maintenance guy pulled out a bar of soap. Very embarrassing for my partner who had used the toilet and couldn't flush it. Ants on the counter and table. The staff came and sprayed Raid on the counter and said an exterminator would be there the next day. The film of Raid remained so we couldnt use the counter until housekeeping cleaned it. I asked for NO housekeeping upon our arrival but someone was in the room at least twice and didnt actually clean it but left a few toiletries, took 2 towels, but left the others. AC unit was working but cycled on and off all night which is not great for a light sleeper. On the positive side, they offered free kayaks but it was difficult to arrange for one because the staff weren't sure when they were available. Even though 5 kayaks were sitting on the beach seemingly unused, the staff said that they were being used by someone. 10 minutes later, all of the kayaks were available even though none had moved. The staff was pleasant and friendly but i got tired of asking for situations to be resolved so i gave up and made do. Everyone is expensive in the Keys so the price was OK...$1227 for 2 people for 5 nights. Good parking. Ice machine was free. Laundry machines were available..around $2 to wash and $2.50 to dry but we didnt use them. The beach is OK, grassy bottom, rough sand and 3 docks.Comfy beds

The beach was the only nice thing about the property. Our cinder block room was so tiny we couldn’t even open up our suitcase unless we put it on top of the bed— there was literally less than 12” on each side of the bed. The noise was so loud from the highway that we needed to keep the a/c fan running all night to try to drown out some of the noise. There were 2 chairs and a table outside our room that faced the cement building. This place looks like a throwback from the fifties— but not in a cute way. The place next door with little bungalows looked much better. Big disappointment.
