I stayed here some years ago and was very impressed, however it is very tired and dated now, they are doing some renovations in some areas. Definitely not worth the money at the moment.

Didn't have a spa so couldn't say. But the staff were really good especially Kirstie at breakfast. She sorted my gluten-free breakfast out for me which was very tasty. Bed's were really comfortable so had a lovely sleep for journey next day. Nice hot shower. Couldn't fault the Hotel.

The spa was inviting and the staff very good. Made to feel comfortable and the treatment was great. The pool area was okay and while we did enjoy it we just feel it lacked an intimate atmosphere as was a gym club. Definitely could have done with either drinks service for guests or a bar. However we enjoyed our stay and would go again

The staff are very kind and welcoming, the roast dinner carvery and breakfast are 10/10. Very British, great quality service. Rooms are clean and tidy, pool and spa needs a little updating/fixing small wear&tear such as stairs to pool and pool flooring. Driving range is great fun, nice local woodland walk/park. Apart from very small maintenance issues, perfect stay. Will always return :) Relaxed and traditional atmosphere.

Third time at this hotel, we really enjoy it. It’s nothing fancy and the rooms are quite basic but they’re clean and facilities are great for a short family break away. What really makes this place though is the staff! Everyone we’ve ever encountered have been nothing but lovely whether it’s reception, the bar, brasserie, driving range or leisure centre - we will definitely be back

We like this hotel and have stayed several times. Our stay was spoiled this time with thoughtless people next door awake and talking loudly at 5am. Walls in the area we stayed in this time are obviously not well made. We will request to stay in the older part of the house if we stay again.

My husband and I were celebrating my husbands birthday Our experience was wonderful from check in to check out! In particular when we went to have a swim one of the members of staff on the leisure centre desk was extremely helpful My husband… who is in his 60’s … has early onset Alzheimer’s. I was concerned about him being able to manager the locker system … remember which locker he was using but also the code and remembering that and how to input it etc. When I voiced this to the member of staff he immediately offered to help my husband. He also told him to alert him when he was out of the pool after his swim and he would help again by opening the locker for my husband. He was friendly asking my husband if he had enjoyed his swim. He wasn’t in the slightest bit patronising but helpful, professional and kind. My husband referred to this experience and the help he was so kindly given several times over his birthday weekend. It meant a lot to him … and hence to me too! This weekend was such a treat … paid for courtesy of Tesco Clubcard vouchers! … and a more expensive hotel than we usually stay in. Our experience was just wonderful. All staff we came into contact with were professional and friendly. The breakfasts were amazing! Our room was wonderful and spotless and the leisure pools and sauna the icing on the cake. Thank you to everyone at Dunston Hall for making our stay this weekend so memorable and enjoyable. Breakfast was ok, it was busy and lack of staff meant the tables were not set properly and no plates, glasses put out so had to wait around for plates and chase staff for glasses. We had to ask several staff.

Room didnt have enough pillows one pillow per person. Also there were four of us and only three sets of towels. One lamp was broken in the room and did not work. Also there were food under the bed that looked like it had been there a while. There was a very old discoloured bath mat in the room also which had seen better days. Also we go locked out of our room as New Year’s Day was a alate check out (1pm). The hotel had not set checkout to a later time so we were locked out for some time. Came back from
Breakfast and couldn’t get back in the room. So had to take 3 floors and a long walk back to reception as no one would answer the phone on reception.

Hotel communal spaces had had an upgrade since my last visit many years ago. Bar was lovely. Hotel was warm. Service was good.

The room was comfortable and spacious but a bit disjointed decor wise.. armchair in front of full length mirror, huge mirror on the wall above the dressing table that was out of proportion and not terribly functional and lamp that didn’t really suit any of it and the room got a bit chilly overnight (it was minus 4 outside though). Bathroom was a bit tired looking but clean.
Major thing that we fed back to staff was how cold the changing room in the leisure area was and I was very underwowed by the pool area so was relieved I hadn't booked it as a special spa break.
The building and the setting are beautiful though and the room was perfectly adequate for our needs.

Features in many parts of the hotel. Location isn’t too far from the centre of Norwich to take a taxi. We always stay in the more modern rooms which are very comfortable. The spa is nice but hot tub and pool have been a little cold on our last two visits. Breakfast choice is fantastic and lovely staff. Room improvements would include some water glasses, hair conditioner and our bathroom had a cracked sink

Swimming pool out of action the day we checked in, it was fixed the following day but water was really cold, changing areas are poor.
Rooms are a bit jaded, could do with a make over.
Breakfast was poor, I’ve had better at a Premier Inn, we found people queuing waiting for new plates and food to be replenished.
Overall we found the whole experience disappointing, this was a 60th birthday celebration and we wish we had gone elsewhere.

Lovely Hotel but like Fawlty Towers for the meal!

Come here with the children and the pool facilities. Pool warm, changing room freezing. Breakfast was good, evening meal service very poor. Had to ask for some food which was forgotten, children wanted hot chocolate and was given a cup of lukewarm chocolate with no marshmallows or cream and when questioned they said they did not have them but still charged full price for them.
The room was ok with 2 queen beds but the pillows were very long and hung of the sides which made you feel like you were going to fall out of bed in the night. Bathroom was ok, a bit tired with peeling paint. The room was hot so we had to have the windows open which was draughty, there was not way to control the room temperature.
A shout out to Helen at breakfast who was lovely. Many staff were very young and inexperienced, we laughed and called it a Fawlty Towers experience! We did not eat there a second night due to our expereince, their loss.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 - Lovely Stay at Dunston Hall

We had a lovely stay at Dunston Hall. Our room was upgraded on arrival, which was a wonderful surprise! The room itself was spacious with a huge, comfortable bed, perfect for a relaxing night.

The bar and restaurant were excellent, and the chef was more than happy to cater to my dietary requirements, which was much appreciated. The spa was quiet and calm a great spot to unwind.

All of the staff, especially the reception team, were professional, kind, and welcoming throughout our stay.

The hotel grounds were beautiful and well-kept, though the outside seating area could have used a bit of tidying up. There were some scattered chairs, ashtrays that looked like they’d been left out for a while, which was a shame because everywhere else looked so lovely.

Overall, it was a great stay, and we’ll definitely be returning in the future!

A lovely hotel , booked a std double & got an upgrade to a suite , which great even if unexpected. The gym is very good. I ate dinner in the bar which good value, tasty & the service was excellent. The only minor disappointment was breakfast, there was plenty if choice but like most buffet breakfasts the hot food was plentiful but luke warm. I know why hotels do it because it’s a cost saving but so frustrating as everything else about the place was excellent. Not a deal breaker just a frustrating bug bare of mine

We stayed at this hotel several years ago and decided to return.Unfortunately, the experience this time was awful. The rooms are dated and with inadequate lighting. Breakfast was sub standard, buffet food more akin to a Little Chef. Cold, tasteless, terrible service, dirty uncleared tables, lack of plates and cutlery. Mugs on the tables, no side plates, tiny paper napkins.Dinner was ok, but yet again slow and inattentive service. Staff mostly students, poorly trained, reception was terrible due to rude argumentative and offhand attitude. We felt unwelcome and would not recommend or return again.

Gave a lower score for service because we had to wait over an hour for food and when it finally arrived, as it had been sitting under a heat lamp the pastry was rock hard and very difficult to cut into. The delay was blamed on a wedding taking place, sorry, thats not my problem, any possible delays to food should be communicated, so customers can choose to go elsewhere.

Extremely overpriced for the condition of the hotel and facilities.

The bed was very uncomfortable, there were two in our room and both mattresses need replacing, they were very hard and you could feel the springs.

The rooms were not very soundproof so you could hear anyone walking past in the corridor, walking in the room above yours, opening doors etc.

There was no hairdryer in the room which is very poor for such an expensive hotel, I was unable to wash my hair ahead of a wedding.

The rooms need some refurbishment, there were paint and grout issues and the curtain pelmet was half falling off.

The breakfast was nice but the service was poor.

The grounds and hotel building are nice but overall I wouldn’t stay again given the poor facilities for the price of the hotel.

We stayed for two nights in August B&B as part of a mini break to the East of England. All staff were welcoming and helpful. The room had a king size bed and the bathroom was large and adequately supplied. Breakfast was a good choice of pastries and hot buffet...dining at 8.15am meant we had no problem with queues or choice of food. The only thing that could have been better was the lack of air conditioning, as our room was very warm on both nights of our stay although a fan was provided upon request.

We really enjoyed our trip to Dunston Hall and our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer! We were really impressed with the size of the swimming pool and the fact that there was a separate section for lane swimming. The breakfast was really nice, with a great choice and it was lovely to have a big bed to sleep in!

Broken shower head support, which resulted in the shower head falling and landing on my foot whilst taking a shower. Very fortunately only slightly grazed a couple of my toes as I moved them out of the way very quickly but could also have very easily broken them.
Reported it to Reception who apologised and reported it to their maintenance team, but no gesture of any goodwill or follow up from Management to make sure everything was OK which is very poor. Obviously it could have been much much worse!!

This 3 night stay was for our 25th anniversary. Upon arrival we checked in to be told we had to pay £50 holding charge which we have never had to do always pay at the end of our stay we also paid for our evening meal which was discounted from £32 to £27 so we took advantage of this.
We ordered our evening meal whiz we had already looked at the menu at home and decided for our special anniversary then 10 minutes after ordering was told they had ran out of the lamb, our meal was booked for 6.30pm so was amazed at this also that the kitchen staff didn’t no what was available.
I then asked for a steak but for the same price as the lamb but was offered 10% off so I had to settle for pie.
Although the meal was of good quality upon leaving we was asked to pay and when we told we had paid upfront already Charlie looked and said it hadn’t and that the bill needed to be paid before we left which I refused to pay twice.
We had an upgraded room with outside seats which wasn’t really an upgrade the seats were soaked, ripped and very used as were the outside doors looked in such poor condition even the lock didn’t work.
The bed was in awful condition needed a new mattress and a valance so not to notice the beds poor outdated condition the bed sheets had holes it which I will send photo and also the bathroom seal was mouldy and split so looks black again I will send photos.
All in all a very poor dated room room and unfortunately our 25th anniversary was disappointing at this hotel.

Bathroom a bit worn/grubby in areas and sink had a large crack.

Service, cleaning and food very good.

No cooling in rooms and the duvet appeared to be a very heavy winter tog.
Also the breakfast area was so hot that I had to leave my meal and exit the building
