First of all great service from all staff, good food and comfortable bed. My middle score reflects my disappointment with the room. I booked a junior suite but felt the room was no more than a large double. Putting a roll top bath in the bedroom does not make it a Junior suite. It was also cold with only a small oil heater provided. This made it an expensive room.

I recently enjoyed my second stay at Maids Head. I love their junior suites and this time I had the pleasure of Shardlake. A beautiful room at the front of the hotel looking down Tombland and across to the cathedral. It had a huge comfortable bed and a gorgeous roll top bath with complimentary White Company toiletries. There was also a walk-in shower and dual sinks. I do love the bathrooms at Maids Head. They've been very well designed. Another room favourite is the excellent selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate. It was so lovely to stay somewhere that provided camomile tea. My suite was so calming and cosy. It was a wrench to leave it. Spotlessly clean too with a daily visit from housekeeping. All staff I encountered were so welcoming and friendly. Definitely my favourite place to stay in Norwich.

I stay often in Norwich and there are some really excellent hotel options. I stayed here because of the excellent reviews but it didn’t live up to the hype. The room was reasonable but a bit dated. But worse was the general grubbyness of the room. Net curtains where grey and stained and round the windows was positively dirty.

Our room was very cold. We called reception and they said we'd need to wait 2 hours for it to warm up, which it didn't...and by then it was too late to ask someone to fix it. We also ordered room service and there were bits missing from our order. A member of staff also walked into the room before check out time while we were in the bathroom. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was immaculately clean. We had a drink in the bar in the evening and the young man serving was very helpful when choosing a wine to drink. I liked the fact we could easily walk to shops and restaurants near by. We stayed for the 1 night only (Thursday) and arrived by bus because the carpark charge online looked to expensive. Whilst we were upgraded on arrival toi a newly decorated level 1 - in room 109. A Gorgeous quiet and warm room with a settee and chairs.
When walking to the Norwich Cathedral next door we saw a beautiful old Bentley car parked out front which is one of three classic cars own by the hotel. We got a complimentary tour all around the City with the driver as guide. Fabulous thanks Maids Head for a truly memorable stay in Storm Benjamin!

The hotel is in a great location, easy to walk into the city or to the station. There are some great dining options around the hotel. We stayed in the Surlingham suite which was gorgeous. Booked for a long weekend away. Very welcoming, friendly staff from the moment of check-in right through to checking out. Hotel location is ideal, being about 200 metres from Norwich Cathedral (Anglican) and making the town centre easy walking distance. The buffet breakfast was extensive and tasty. A complimentary 40 minute tour of the city in a vintage Bentley (weekends only) added to the whole experience.

My husband brought us here for my birthday and we stayed for one night. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our twin room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Every member of staff we met was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel special. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of delicious vegan options. It was such a treat to have so much choice. Honestly, this was one of the best hotel stays we’ve had in a long time, and we can’t wait to go back!

The hotel is located in an excellent spot near the cathedral. I would stay Despite trying two portable AC units (that didn’t cool) and multiple fans we were uncomfortably hot. It would have been nice to have a portable AC unit that blew cold air. We loved the inn and our room was very comfortable other than the temperature. The staff were helpful. We enjoyed the Sunday Roast in the restaurant.

This is a special place in the world, they say the oldest hotel in the UK. The staff are great and the food is, too. We stayed in the modern wing and it was dated, but a good-sized room with a great view of the Cathedral. Staff were amazing and brought us additional chest of drawers and duvets promptly upon request. Light sleepers should bring ear plugs. You cannot beat the location, as you have a view of the Cathedral gates right from reception.

This hotel was an excellent choice due to its prime location next to the Anglican Cathedral, with a Wetherspoons 110yds down the road, shops 10 mins walk and station 15. The rooms were of a very high standard and house-keeping take a pride in ensuring customer excellence in the way it responds to needs.
