Honestly room was tiny, you could not walk past the window without closing it. rating 4 star no way more a 2 star, rooms where cleaned regularly which was good but bed was so uncomfortable base kept pulling away from the wall whilst sleeping as only there 4 night's and its convenient location we didnt day anything. We had a very badly maintained room, not cleaned.Luckily we always carry wipes since Covid and we had to wipe everything before using our room.Issues are extremely slow to be dealt with and sometimes never.Had to chase them.Been to Istanbul numerous times as well as other countries but never like this.It can’t be a 4 Star hotel, I would give it. -2 to be generous.

I was dissapointed, the photos are nothing like the actual hotel ,rooms are small and dirty we stayed for a week and bedding was not changed once , amenities were poor and breakfast choices were limited. Staff did not speak even basic english or even checked to see how we were. Hospitality was so poor. Beds are shown as double however are two single joined. When telling staff bed was broken staff did not try to fix this, was very uncomfortable as there was 2 single beds.

Hotel room was very poor and not very clean bedsheets had marks on them. Windows did not open correctly only one hinge was working the bathroom shower head did not have a mount. Overall not a great hotel would not go back there again photos are not accurate at all

Room was very small, curtains were dirty, sink had no stopper and leaked. shower had nothing to hold it up and no tea/ coffee facilities in the room and when just a kettle was asked for, request was denied. and i had to purchase one.Fortunately I always bring my own tea and sweetner.

You get room that you didn't book!!

AVOID IT AT ALL COST!! I booked a standard room and when I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist gave me an economy room and gave my brother a room underground! When I complained he told me either take it or leave. Wow, that's the worst service I've ever got. Luckily, I've contacted Hotels.com customer service the following day and got my booking cancelled. Other customers also complained about the hotel and stuff. I don't recommend it to anyone even for free. I will attach some pictures of the room. Rooms not clean and in bad conditions.Very bad service and stuff.

Did not like this place!!! Staff is rude and unfriendly. The place is very dirty and that’s me putting it nicely!!!! Will never stay here again!!! It’s not what they show in the pic, so beware of that. Paid to stay there for 15 days but left after the first night, didn’t leave earlier because it was nighttime in a strange place. They never gave us a refund or anything! But that’s ok!!! I just wanted out!!!!!

The only advantage of the hotel is the location, walking distance from the bazaar and other main attractions. Staff was also OK but beside that nothing justifies the 4star ranking.
Rooms are very small (a big suitcase can barely fit around the bed) and they looked significantly worse than the pictures - very used furniture and kind of dirty.
The biggest disappointment was caused by the facilities that were listed on the booking but which we couldn't benefit from - WiFi and jacuzzi on the terrace. The WiFi was extremely bad which they explained with a so called network in the entire neighbourhood, however, other hotels or restaurants had perfect service...The jacuzzi was working only partially and when we complained that the water is not warming up they told us that this jacuzzi is not running on hot water but just \"a little hot\"...40 minutes later, they temperature had only rise up to 22 degrees Celsius...
Breakfast was also a disappointment: only a few choices, most of them cold, orange juice made from instant powder, the tomatoes looked like they had been cut into slices days ago and other similar extremely low quality products....Nonetheless, we had to clean one of the tables for ourselves one morning because the staff didn't bother to take care of that.
All in all, this was very far from what we expected from a 4 star hotel and I would recommend it, except for the location aspect. Had better experiences is lower ranked hotels.

Bathrooms has mildew in the shower. The staff told us they will clean it, it didn’t happen. Missing phone in one of the rooms was never installed back despite several requests. Small fridges leaked water on the floor of both rooms and when reported it was not acknowledged. We had to walk few streets to get to their shuttle service to the airport, in the middle of midday heat. Room size is very small. Bath towels worn out, etc...I will never be back.

it was pethatic one, the hotel was not 4 stars at all. it was our worst experience over there even Air Conditioner of the room was not working. it was dirty hotel and staff was unethical and non couteous with no training at all. when we complained them they gave lame excuses.we had paid in advance otherwise we would shift first day. after three days stay with pethatic experience, yesterday we did shift to actual four star hotel after an hectic tours of different hotels.The American Company like you, just broke our trust . we expect to get refund our money, on behalf of this big fraud namely Devan-i-Ali hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The walls are not sound proof hence feels like you are sleeing in one big room with entire coridor also can hear every sound from outside. False information on the website and expedia description! I would not recommend anyone to stay here it is not nice or clean as Its very small and nosey as well as old and dirty.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. This is advertised as a 4 star hotel and it doesnt even deserve 1 star. First off the rooms are so small, and by that I mean its literally just a bed, like a maid room.

secondly, The staff give you attitude and are rude, and hardly speak any English.

The pictures were unfortunately all false, the stairs carpet was all torn, the ceiling height was extremely low, entering room I had a real shock, room had no blanket (!), nothing in minibar, the bed filled the whole room, like in a cheap cruiseship cabin, shower doors were broken, showerhead was propably original 90 years old, a lot of dirt and dust around all the corners and chairs. The location is quite central but that didn't help anything really. I didn't want to stay even one night because I booked a 4 star hotel, not 2 star. Ended up staying in the 2017 built Hilton Garden Umraniye that literally saved my holiday!

The hotel was fine but not very comfortable. There were two of us and the room was so small that we could not keep our luggage in the room as there was no where to store it. There was barely any room to walk around the bed area. The location is convenient but our room was on the street side of the building and it was terribly busy and loud, making any relaxing with the window open impossible.

Housekeeping did not seem to clean the floor (wood floors) very well. Dirt was tracked when we came out of the shower. No fan in the bathroom for ventilation.

Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful but their English was very limited.

Nice Stay.

I arrived late at night and got up after the breakfast finished. However, staff in kitchen was kind enough to prepare me a breakfast table; a gesture that shows that this hotel cares about their customers.

Overall, perfect location, clean hotel, nice interior and attentive, kind staff. I wish the room was a bit bigger and a have a desk to put your laptop on but it did not affect much as I was in room only for sleeping.

Wifi was very fast and worked fine too.

This hotel is excellent in many ways but the most important attribute it has is the location. Opposite the tram way for easy access/convenience and the Grand Bazaar (amazing shopping). This hotel is an great choice for visitors are on the go and active and went to get around. There are plenty of restaurants and other food outlets near by.

Great hotel in the heart of the old city

Ratings were overall positive but don't usually stay at small hotels like this - wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel had small differences which made a big difference for me - great water pressure, upgraded (if small) bathrooms, a/c that could chill a room in minutes, and an above average buffet breakfast. WiFi was strong and the staff here go out of their way to be helpful and kind. I blew my travel charger (don't ask) and they kindly offered me a usb adaptor to charge my phone - didn't even hesitate. They recommended a fantastic restaurant just down the road. Room as small (standard euro size small) and the street can be a bit loud - but these were minor things. Only downside - this isn't the easiest hotel to locate since it's in a very old part of the city. Follow their instructions and you'll be all right. Very convenient to tramway, but I found their location was easy walking distance to everywhere - a pleasant stroll of about 15 minutes gets you to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.

Wonderful Stay in Istanbul Sultanahmet.

Great hotel on a quiet street in the heart of historical district. 5 min walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Literally across from Grand Bazaar. Very comfortable bed, good WiFi in the room. Nice breakfast.

Nice hotel close to Sultan Ahmet and Grand Bazaar.

Our overall recent experience staying at Divani-Ali Hotel was really good. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel rooms were clean and facilities were great. Our only criticism will be how small the rooms were, so if your a person whom loves their space, you may feel claustrophobic at times. Other than that, this hotel is a lovely place to stay and I will recommend it to anyone who would like to visit Istanbul.

I recently went to Istanbul and booked with divani ali hotel after reading the positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The single room was smallish but enough space for one. the hotel is right opposite the grand bazaar and walking distances from most main attractions, and if u need help the hotel staff are more than happy to help and will even give you recommendations of where's good. I would definitely recommend the hotel and if I go back I won't hesitate to book with them.

The location is very good - very close to the main tourist sites and grand bazaar. Although the rooms are very small, they are clean, the bed and linen are clean and good, the shower is powerful and water is always hot. The breakfast was good but being a vegetarian. we were limited to cereal and bread. If yogurt pots and cut fruits were provided that would be good. Also if there was fresh orange juice rather than squash. The reception staff were always very helpful especially the manager Firat.

The room is very small. Double bed is about 3 feet away from the door so that's what you see as soon as you open the door. The room is very small, oh I said that already. The double bed is in the middle of the room and one side of the bed has the main door and also the door to the bathroom so it has about 3 feet of space. But the other 2 sides of bed is probably only 1.5 feet. Once I opened the suitcase the room has tiny space to walk around. And the description says there are slippers and bathrobes but it's not true. The room didn't have a luggage rack either. And the wardrobe only had 3 hangers. The bathroom is also small. There's a toilet, a shower, and a sink, and in the middle of those 3, there's a small space to open the bathroom door. It's almost like public bathroom that you have to squeeze yourself to get out between the toilet and the door. The breakfast is a joke. Hotel employees are kind except for one person but that's fine because we didn't really need any help anyway.
Enough with the bads...
The location is really good. The area is safe even at night. Only thing though because it's so close to local shops the streets get a bit dirty at night but just empty boxes and packaging garbage stuff, nothing smelly. The rooftop of the hotel is nice. The in-room safe is kind of smaller than any other hotels we've been. If I go to the area again, I will try to find a hotel near here but I will never stay at this hotel.

The hotel was small but nice and clean. The bathroom was very small especially the was basin was in a very small place every time you wash your hands and face you will hurt your elbows either with the door or the wall. The room had a wardrobe which was so small that only one person can use it. It was a nice but small room as well but very compertable bed.

Great for short stays/budget travelers

Great location, just around the corner from Grand Bazaar and tram, and a scenic 10 minute walk to Sultanahmet. The rooms are super tiny, but updated and very clean and the beds are comfortable. Plusses: extremely helpful staff, minibar, 360 rooftop terrace, amazing breakfast buffet. Minuses: thin walls, noisy street, weak Wi-Fi.

Mostly good, but some glaring problems

I booked a larger room for two separate trips to Istanbul, but the hotel kept coming up with excuses about how it is being worked on. This is not just one trip, but over two different stays (2 months apart) at this hotel.

The Standard Room is very clean and tiny. You will barely have enough room to stand up in the room. Don't try to squeeze two people in one room.

Bathroom is European standard (small for Americans), and very clean.

Breakfast provides a nice variety of spreads, pastries and more.

Walking distance to Blue Mosque and Sultanamet and Grand Bazaar. Location is very convenient. Avoid walking downhill from the hotel. The alleys become dark and it is easy to get lost there.

Great location, near new hotel

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the entry of the Grand Bazaar, a metro station and 2stops from Sultanahmet where there are many iconic sites.
The hotel is near new which means everything works, though the room itself is small.
Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying. Hotel staff were helpful with information and assistance.
I required medical assistance in Instanbul and the Manager, Farid was very helpful in scanning paperwork to forward to the insurance company. Much appreciated:-)
Depending on what time you arrive and the day, the hotel can be difficult to reach (due to prayer commitments)but with a call to the hotel, a man came to meet me a couple of blocks away and assisted me to the hotel.

Basic hotel, fantastic location

Hotel in a great location midway between Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. Hotel shuttle provided for a reasonable cost. Rooms small but very clean. However not well insulated and can literally hear everything. Turning on room heater/air and donning earplugs helps. There is no very from rooms but has a rooftop terrace with great views of Sea of Marmara and Blue Mosque. Breakfast is edible but not much more than that, very basic, though its included. Thing to be aware of is street is closed to vehicle traffic until 6pm. If you arrrive prior a taxi will not get through and you will have a 5 min walk on old cobblestone streets uphill with luggage. Also the hotel can not be relied on to find a reasonable taxi service for you should you need one in Istanbul.

Great value and great service

Wonderful people and very nice room - small but clean and very nice. Beautiful terrace on roof with fantastic view. Fine breakfast. Very helpful staff. Close to Grand Bazaar and some of the main attractions of Istanbul (walking distance). We even carried a rug we bought at the bazaar back to the hotel (although we should have let the store folks carry it :) ). Overall, highly recommended place. We hope to go back next time.

The free breakfast was good - available 7:30am-10:30pm. Also if you stay over a certain amount of nights you can get free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (one way, you have to pay for the return)

Mh sister and I found DivaniAli altho a small boutique hotel, for its size the standard was very high in all areas. the location was great for what we needed a couple of days to shop and see major sites. easy access to all we wanted and easy to find places to eat and souvenirs. staff were friendly and helpful and our room was immaculate. only draw back was the neighbourhood was noisy throughout the night which made for restless sleeps. some people may find this a problem. we adjusted and knew our stay was short. highly recommended for first time visitors to istanbul on lower budget as it is so accessible to major attractions and tram line.

Not a good night's sleep

Good location only a 10 min walk to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque and trams stops very close by. The staff were very friendly too. However, the curtains were too small so I was woken up by the sunlight at 6am every morning and struggled to get back to sleep. It also seemed like no matter what time of the day it was house keeping always wanted to get it but I couldn't figure out what else they needed to do! Would not recommend, sorry.

Well presented hotel in a convenient location.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights. This was my 4th visit to Istanbul so I have some experience of hotels in the city. This was one of the best, and certainly THE best in the old city. It doesn't have any views as it's located in one of the back streets, however, the interior of the hotel is new and clean. Shower room was excellent, with good pressure in the shower. The hotel is 5 mins from the nearest tram stop and 15-20 mins walk from the Hippodrome, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque etc. I'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone considering a break in Istanbul.

Lovely place although room very small

Very nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and facilities. Our room was very small with no drawers etc. but apart from that was comfortable.

Great find!

Divan-i-Ali was a pleasant surprise for my wife and I. We are from NYC and have traveled extensively throughout Europe. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a few days before staying at the Dival-i-Ali - the location is great and the staff is awesome! My only one complaint was that when it was time to return to the airport, the guy at the front desk called his \"brother\" - a taxi driver - who attempted to overcharge us. The one-way fare from this location should be roughly 40 liras... just FYI.

Fab hotel, fab staff and fab location.

We have just returned from a girls trip staying at this hotel. The hotel is located within a short walk of the Grand Bazarre, the trams are at the top of the road with a two stop journey to Sultanahmet for the Blue Mosque. It is easily walkable too. The hotel is new, very clean and modern. There is free wifi on every floor. The reception staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I have not got a bad word to say about this hotel and will definately be staying there again.

Staff was amazingly polite and helpful. We got a really tiny room but it worked for us as we only had carry on baggage with us. Breakfast was good.

Anniversary celebration

Could not have picked a better hotel in which to spend our wedding anniversary. Loved the staff and loved Istanbul. Good breakfast . Staff allowed us the use their facilities to check in on line. Surrounding area did not look much, but area was save and central. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Mi chica operada y 3 noches sin dormir y sin poder descansar, el colchón totalmente hundido , se lo comuniqué el primer día y me dijo que lo sentían y que nos lo iban a a cambiar , nos pusieron otro que estaba igual .
Se lo vuelvo a comunicar de madrugada ya que no podíamos dormir le pregunté también si había alguna posibilidad de cambiar de habitación , no me importaba pagar la diferencia, su respuesta fue “ no puedo hacer nada , I’m sorry my friend’ . Al día siguiente salimos del hotel y cuando volvimos por la tarde nos encontramos un colchón usado en la puerta de la habitación , metido dentro de una bolsa de plástico llena de polvo , nos lo dejaron allí para que lo cambiáramos nosotros mismo , fue horrible la situación, mi chica recién operada y yo sacando un colchón doble entre los dos para poner otro , y lo peor de todo es que estaba igual , hundido por dentro , tengo fotos de los dos colchones .
Nunca más !! Hotel de 4 estrellas??? No debería ni llamarse hotel . Lo único bueno la ubicación

Ich würde das Hotel nicht empfehlen.

Das Hotel entspricht nicht den Bildern, es ist sehr Herruntergekommen . Badezimmer bröckelt der Putz und die Farbe, Schwarzer Schimmel im Bad, Klimaanlage voll verstaubt und verdreckter Filter, ein Kleiderschrank den man nicht nutzen kann, man lebt aus dem Koffer. Die Dachterasse ist auch nicht wie auf den Bilder, Keine Tische und Stühle dafür aber genug Sachen abgestellt, wird wohl als Lager oder Müllplatz verwendet. Dafür das es sehr Central und Günstig ist darf ansonsten nichts vom Hotel erwarten. Es ist auch sehr Hellhörig so das man morgens um 5:00 aufgeweckt wird.

Keine Hilfe durch die Mitarbeiter. Die Gepäcke mussten wir selbst rauf und runter tragen.
Die Zimmer sind sehr sehr klein. Die Vorhänge sind sehr alt und zerrissen. Haarföhn funktioniert nicht. In der Dusche kommt nur sehr heisses Wasser oder sehr kaltes Wasser. Die Zimmer stanken nach Rauch obwohl es Raucherfreie Zimmer waren.
Das Frühstück ist sehr klein gehalten. Nur normale kleine Brote, kein Simit oder andere Brotarten was man normalerweise an einem traditionellen türkischen Frühstück erwartet. Schokoladen Aufstrich, Tomaten, Gurken, weiss Käse und Oliven waren vorhanden. Die Früchte lagen warscheinlich seit 2 Wochen dort und sahen sehr unappetitlich aus. Wir mussten daher immer draussen essen.

wir wollen keine Nacht in dem Hotel verbringen entspricht überhaupt nicht den Bildern und ist sehr schmutzig, und unhygienisch. Sieht’s Bilder. Es ist ein Katastrophaler Zustand, wir können hier nicht eine Nacht bleiben und mussten auf eigene Kosten das Hotel wechseln. Dazu kommt, dass der Hotelbesitzer nicht mal einen Check out zulässt und mich zwingt das Zimmer bis zum 1. 12.2021 in Anspruch zu nehmen

Ich habe eine Quittung der neuen Bleibe als Beweis das wir nicht in diesem Hotel geblieben sind und selbst auf den inklusiven Frühstück aufgrund des unhygienischen Zustand verzichtet haben.

All the hotel staff were very helpful and polite.
Unfortunately the hotel is not as shown in the photos !!!
It was raining the day we went. Water entered our room from the window because it was damaged and did not close completely.
The curtains were tangled.
The heating did not work, it was only air-conditioned, but it did not emit hot air.
Breakfast was not satisfactory at all. We went to eat on the first day and we were disappointed, we did not eat. Breakfast included eggs, bread, tomatoes and some cold cuts.

The location of the hotel is very good, but it is not enough.

Odamız gerçekten pisdi. Cam kenarında kullanılmış kulak çöpü vardı =( sanırım halen duruyordur. Banyo tuvalet temziliği vasat. Tuvaletde tuvalet fırçası yoktu. Çeşmeler kireç içerisindeydi . Silikonlar siyahlaşmıştı. Kendinizi suriyeli gibi hissediyorsunuz , Yani bir yere sığınmış gibi. Tabi bu fiyata 5 yıldızlı otel konforu beklenemez lakin temizliğin fiyatla alakası olamaz.

Yatağın bir tarafı çökmüştü, Duş bildiğin iplik gibi akıyor, Otelde hidrofor yoktu.

Banyonun iç kısmındaki duşakabinin kapısı acık sürekli, Cünkü kapısı yoktu sökmüşler sanırım yada kırılmış, Öyle olunca WC kısmıda ıslanıyor.

İçerde terlik yok, banyoya koyulacak bir ayak havlusu yok ,

Konumu gerçektnen çok iyi, Temiz olsa ve suyu normal yıkanabilecek tazzikte olsa hiçbir sorun olmayacaktı bizim açımızdan. Çokta bişey istemedik =)

Rezalet!

Oda temizliği vasat, yerde sigara külü veya ona benzer uçuşan şeyler vardı. Banyo ve tuvalete girmedim bile. Duvarlarların her yerinde ayakkabı izleri vardı, televizyon süs gibi konulmuş kumandası bile çalışmıyordu. Ufak bir buzdolabı var ve o kadar kirli, pis duruyor ki açmaya korkuyorsunuz. Covid kuralları gereği oda kullanımdan sonra 1 gün boş bırakılıyormuş, yalan. Odalar ses geçirmez yazılmış 1. kattan 2. kattaki odada konuşulanları duymayı bırakın anlıyorsunuz bile.

Hôtel dans une ruelle commerçante, proche du grand bazar de la mosquée bleu et du tramway, hôtel passable qui n’est pas du tout un 4 étoiles mais plutôt 1 étoile, chambre propre, salle de bain très très petite, je n’ai pas goûté au petit déjeuner je ne peux donc pas le juger, petit bémol nous avions demandé et payé un transfert aéroport à 6h du matin qui n’a finalement pas était réservé par le chef de l’hôtel, le monsieur de la réception n’était même pas au courant il a dû nous appeler un chauffeur en urgence. Hôtel sans plus mais pour le prix on ne peut s’attendre à mieux.
