I had a wonderful stay at Aprilis Deluxe Hotel in Istanbul. The location is excellent — very close to the main tourist attractions, many of which can easily be reached on foot, such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar.
The hotel staff were extremely courteous, attentive, and always willing to help, making the stay even more pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

The hotel was clean and well run. They even gave us sandwiches to take with us to the airport. I would have given 5 stars were it not for an encounter we had with one of the desk clerks. We wanted to cancel a tour that the hotel had booked and he immediately got angry and raised his voice. He told us they had so many stars on Google and our business wasn’t at the top of their minds. In other words, we don’t care about your business. When the same clerk checked us out, he was quite rude and barely spoke. I didn’t understand the anger in response to a tour we were paying for and wanted to cancel. His attitude was very unprofessional and as much as I liked the hotel, I’d rather spend my money where it’s appreciated. This is my second visit to Istanbul and not likely to be my last. Thankfully, this is not the only hotel in town.

We really enjoyed the Hotel and Staff when we checked in. We had an early departure which they handled well. We were promised breakfast sandwiches for our early departure which never happened. Also, we received a recommendation for a rooftop restaurant with reasonable prices. Out of our 2 week trip in 6 different countries, it was the by far the worst and most expensive meal we've had. It was also the one which we barely had any Alcohol. We kinda felt like we received \" Special\" American prices.

The hotel and staff were wonderful! We arrived very early and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We found it was easy to walk to all the main attractions with a lsrge selection if eateries very close. The hotel itself was clean and had great facilities - we used the gym each morning of our stay. It was small but had a good selection of equipment and was always clean. The breakfasts were great with a huge selection to cover all tastes. A very enjoyable stay.

Excellant hotel .Within walking distance of the major attractions, but lstanbul is very hilly and beware the hotel half way up a very steep one with difficult pavements and very heavy traffic.
The top of the hill is a little more on the flat soif you have walking difficulties perhaps the sister hotel would be better.
The staff in both are some of the kindest we have ever met so the Apryllis group are recommended.
The rooms are not big but very clean with comfortable beds.
Good air conditioning.
However we are english and the breakfast for us was very poor.
Basic same every day with no replacement if you are late risers as we are..
Salad bar , boiled egg , chips , plain lumpy horrible yogurt. If you are a breakfast person you will be disappointed.
The staff in the breakfast room are realy lovely and never stop cleaning.
Very good cofee machine.
They have a nice rooftop bar ,one night they had belly dancing but we missed because no one told us about it and there were no signs.
A shame as l am sure it woud have been fun.
The hotel can help you with booking all trips , taxi entrace tickets.
It is the staff who make the place so good

A great area, close to all most famous attractions. The views from the roof patio is very beautiful.
Staff was very helpful. They arranged us a tour guide speaking our language, a transportation to the beach and transfer to the airoport (extra charge).
There are a few high rated restaurants atound the hotel in 1-2 min of walk. Our favourite one was Mivan.
It was a great stay!

The best thing about this hotel is by far the location. All the main attractions (mosques, Topkapi etc) are within walking distance (~15 mins) and there's a tram stop around the corner for further ventures (e.g. Kadakoy, Galata etc)

The hotel itself however is not a 4* as advertised. It's very basic. I visited with 8 other guests and we were all of the same opinion. It definitely has everything you need to get by, but is not particularly comfortable.

The breakfast has more Turkish options than continental (think salads/cheeses) but again has just enough choice for a decent eat - e.g. there isn't an omelette station but boiled and scrambled eggs are available.

The rooms were clean and any time housekeeping was requested, it was prompt.

The staff were on the whole really friendly - we did however have 1 quite pushy front desk person who repeatedly tried to sell us a boat tour (completely fine for this to happen once on arrival as information but it started to become uncomfortable as it was constant everytime i walked through the lobby after I had explained we had a booking we were already happy with).

Across the 9 of us there were varied opinions on the comfort of the beds.

In summary, we wouldn't be likely to stay again - however in all fairness, Istanbul is an older city so the options in such a convenient location would be limited, especially for so many people travelling together.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is very well located for the old town. Breakfast was adequate. We had one of the bigger rooms and it was spacious. However the duvet was too small for the bed and the lighting wasn't great and very confusing and it was difficult to have just a bedside light on to read.
We booked transfers through the hotel and sadly our car was late/didn't arrive due to rain and traffic. The hotel reception eventually booked us a normal taxi and covered the cost which was great service. Despite this we were very stressed as we were very late getting to the airport. Not sure I'd use the transfer service again

Overall you feel safe at the hotel. Staff are very helpful although their level of English needs to improve so that they may provide guests with good general information. Nevertheless, they were ALWAYS ready to help you which was very much appreciated.
We didn’t like the shuttle taxis to and from the airport. We could not communicate with the drivers because they did not speak any English. In addition, we believe we paid €15 above what we learnt that other travellers had paid for each journey and moreover, the cars were not clean.

Fabulous breakfast buffet with a range of Turkish salad options etc. - and a lovely roof terrace where we could enjoy the sunshine in the late afternoon and look out over the sea. Only (small) problem was that the single beds were a bit narrow! All in, extremely good value.

Highly recommended, hotel staff was exceptionally helpful - especially the staff in the breakfast room; Reception staff provided valuable information for site seeing and public transportation. Hotel room was clean, modern and comfortable. Hotel is within walking distance of the main historical site seeing sites in Old Town, and a 10 minute walk to the Tram Public transport system, although the hotel is located on a steep incline that can be difficult for senior citizens. Places to eat are around the hotel providing local meals at more reasonable prices compared to the main tourist areas in Old Town. Breakfast is provided, however more salads than breakfast type options available.

We were very impressed with this hotel and the service. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, and the two men that treated us exceptionally well when we first arrived and when we were leaving, even laughing with us and making sure all of our needs were met. The coloured girl from downstairs where the restaurant was, helped us so much with shopping suggestions, all while showing her beautiful smile. It made such a difference that everybody was smiley and very welcoming. The hotel itself was clean and was cleaned everyday, we were given bottles of water for free in our room every night, and even hot chocolates on our last night. It’s in a convenient area, near to Akrasay, Grand Baazar and many other walkable distance areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The staff make this hotel one I’d definitely stay in again, my husband and I stayed at here for a long weekend for his birthday. It was our first time in Istanbul so we were so glad the reception staff were so helpful, both day and night staff were fantastic. They gave us help with directions, a travel card and recommendations of what to do, where to shop and to go to eat, all these recommendations were amazing. Such a lovely team that the managers should be very proud of. Hotel was beautiful, clean and within walking distance of most of the attractions, shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options and was plenty for us to choose from. Christmas decorations and trees were also a lovely touch at this time of year.

I wish I could give a better rating for this property because the staff was nice and friendly. I booked a twin room intentionally because I wanted 2 beds, with enough space, but I got stuffed into an almost jail cell with barely any space! I am a gold level at Expedia which is how I booked the room and usually I get upgraded automatically. But this time, even after requesting, I pretty much got downgraded into a smaller room, although I paid higher.

The only thing that makes me give a better than average rating is the friendly staff.

We came across this property when desperately attempting to find a new hotel upon arrival to Istanbul. Our booked hotel was unfortunately not in good condition. Aprilis had good reviews and was nearby so we took a chance. The staff were kind and accommodating despite our very late check in. They were quick to help us and over the next couple of days helped us book activities and tours. We went to Cappadocia and Selman was able to help us book a last minute hot air balloon activity. We would definitely recommend staying here as it has convenient locations for most tourist attractions and easy access to the tram. Most attractions are within walking distance and easy to get around. Will be coming back again to stay at Aprilis during this trip.

Very good option for exploring Sultanahmet area, all major attractions are in walking distance. Also very close to tram stop which is very useful to go to other areas. A lot of options of restaurants around the hotel. The room I got was a little smaller than I expected, for 2 person felt a bit crammed. One thing to note is that this hotel is located in a slightly hilly area, so walking will be slightly more effort than on on the plain.

Hats off to the Aprilis Deluxe for providing one of the best week's of insomnia we've had whilst on holiday, ever. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the metro station.It was really difficult to get to, along a busy highstreet then down cobbled lanes, dragging the suitcase was a workout.It's supposed to be a 4 star hotel but I wouldn't give it more 3.Our bed was adjacent to next door's bathroom so we could hear EVERYTHING, flushing, peeing, etc. We could even hear chairs being dragged, tv, talking.The room doors don't have slow closers so people just let them slam. At 4am it wasn't funny! We had 2 small single beds.One of the mattresses was as soft as a marshmallow.We reported it to reception who said they would change it if they had another one.It never got changed.We couldn't be bothered asking again. Crucifiction would have been more restful.The breakfast was very basic, about as interesting as a dead jellyfish.The TV didn't have international channels unless you like Russia.Staff were friendly but had clearly been trained to sell,sell,sell.As soon as we arrived,they gave us a tea,sat us down and tried to sell us a package to book a trip on the Bosphorus with a meal and a show, 45 euros no alcohol,60 euros with alcohol,each.We had just ararriv.After travelling all day from 5am it was tedious and annoying.We tried to book it on another evening only to be told that it was “cash only”. We didn't have cash so we didn't bother.We did our own thing which was half the price.

Ok 3-ish star hotel, poor and predatory service

Fairly clean hotel although our room smelt damp. When we told the hotel they told us it was because the air conditioning wasn’t on yet in the room. The smell did reduce when we turned on the air conditioning but this meant every time we got back to our room the first 10 minutes it smelt musty

Separately, I always got the feeling the hotel was trying to refer me to do things (eg activities, tours, booking a taxi, shopping through them) to get a commission.

A few examples:
1. When I arrived at the hotel they asked what I had booked. I told them I had a free walking tour and they asked if I could cancel it and I should do their paid tour instead. They also gave me a lot of pamphlets for other tours - a boat tour that was more expensive than others I found online (those had great ratings), a massage which was much more expensive than regular hammams, etc.
2. The manager asked me if I was interested in buying rugs and he insisted on bringing me to his “trusted source”. He didn’t offer to give me the address but insisted on coming with me. I suspect to get a referral fee
3. When we were leaving to the airport they offered to get a taxi when they I saw I was ordering an Uber. They said it was 1300TL but after I booked they told me the price wasn’t possible.

Overall a cleanish hotel but service was lacklustre and I felt like they were trying to get more money from me. Not a good experience. I should be able to trust my hotel to have my best interests at heart not their wallet!

The hotel itself is wonderful, clean and modern.
The people at reception and the entire staff are very kind and helpful.
The room was very clean and pleasant, however the beds were really tiny.
The breakfast was amazing offering such a wide variety of foods, including traditional and international fare.
The hotel offers paid valey parking which is 15 euros per day.
Only one thing to mention about the area around. There was a very weird and unpleasant pungeant smell coming right next to the hotel. You can feel it when you are on the street, or when you are at the terrace at the top of the hotel. Not sure where this smell was coming from, but the hotel was trying really hard to mask it with air freshenersh all over the hallways and the lobby. And yet, even inside the room, traces of it could be felt.
The location of the hotel is very comvenient, in the heart of th ehistoric city, just 10 minutes walk to major places of interest.

Amazing place close to every point of interest you can imagine (blue mosque, grand bazar, spice bazar) very clean and eco-friendly. The staff is very helpful and kind. They take the time to assist you and helpp you to coordinate tours and gave us amazing recommendations.

All the staff at the Aprilis were exceptional! Every one were very friendly, helpful and always eager to assist us.
The room was well appointed, and had many USB ports for electronics, so no need for many adaptors
Breakfast was varied in selection so something for everyone 😊
As with all hotels in the area, be prepared for a longer airport journey as the streets are small, and traffic moves slowly!

This is actually my third time staying at the hotel, I usually always come back here because it USED to be a very accommodating hotel.. I booked a double room double bed nearly one month in advance. I was given a very small room compared to last time with 2 single beds. When I had booked a double bed. The staff basically pushed the 2 single beds together but they just come apart when you try to sleep on them. Secondly the breakfasts USED to be very good, i found the food was old and its been sitting there for a while in a buffet plate and was stale and there wasn’t much options this time aswel just full of salads and sauces that nobody touches. But the food was definitely stale and old. Also I believe they should NOT be serving already drunk people alcohol at the bar as there were some Turkish guests that were drunk and loud and were looking to make trouble. This IS NOT PLEASANT and does NOT FEEL SAFE. Banging doors and slamming them at 2am is not acceptable. Maybe look into getting a security guard. Actually very disappointed in my stay this time around. I am back in Istanbul after one month and I will most probably stay somewhere else. A very honest review from a Regular client.

We had issues with noise coming from a conveyer, but we were moved rooms. They dealt with this issue professionally and with due care.

After this small hiccup our stay was excellent. Cleaning staff were polite and took great attention to detail. Breakfast was simply exquisite. The staff were helpful with directions and recommendations.
