So pleased with the hotel. Fantastic location: within 5 mins walk of all ‘attractions’ but also did not feel overly ‘touristy’. Located very close to lots of restaurants. Staff very helpful. Suggest you go for a room with a sea view. The 5th floor terrace bar is AMAZING. Better than all other views we experienced!

I spent 6 nights in the Recital and overall I enjoyed it. I was on the top floor and had a small private terrace. The room was spacious, I had booked a deluxe single but the room had a single bed and a double bed. The bed was reasonable comfortable and the pillows were excellent.

Despite being on the top floor, I was unfortunately next to the stair access to the roof terrace. This is advertised as closed 11pm to 7am for the comfort of those on the 5th floor but this is not the case. It was ok initially as the first couple of nights it was raining, but a large tour group of loud (is there any other kind?) Americans arrived in the hotel and behaved like they owned the place. I was up late generally but some nights it was almost 1am before the last people came down and they obviously weren’t quiet. The door to the terrace creaked a lot and would bang loudly if not closed gently.

Breakfast was ok. It was quite samey day to day, and they didn’t have any bread for toast after day 4 which I found strange. Hot options were limited and of wildly varying quality. Nothing was labelled so there was an element of trial and error with the more unusual dishes.

They have a gym supposedly in the basement which I visited on day 1 and not again. It was in poor condition. One gym mat that must have been at least a decade old.

Staff were pleasant. Everywhere was immaculately clean. Despite this though, I would be unlikely to stay again if I ended up returning to Istanbul.

The property was very nice in appearance. Our room was on the first floor overlooking a small park, which had people in it all night carrying on conversations right outside of our window.
The bed was not comfortable, was two twin size beds pushed together to make a king with two separate duvet covers on it in order to cover the bed surface.
Perhaps it’s a Turkish thing, but there were no face cloths in the bathroom for showering or cleaning yourself.
Location has excellent access to all of the sights in the old city area.

We had a great time. Excellent staff, very welcoming and the rooms were great.
The staff even lent me money to tip the driver that dropped us off without hesitation (I pad her back of course), but I mean the hospitality was great!
We didn’t get a chance to have breakfast but a couple of my family members did and said it was good.
Rooms have the nice technology of digital signs at the door for housekeeping and do not disturb rather than the old door sign, nice!
Very nice walkable distance to many places, so location was great!
Highly recommend and will come back again!

Where do we start. If you are considering choosing a hotel stay at Recital. The staff Unal and Fathima were excellent. U al helped us with everything from arranging a transfer to hotel to booking a bosphorus cruise, booking hamam’s, recommending places to visit. All of his recommendation were spot on. The breakfast was spectacular, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We travelled as a family, with 2 kids. The rooms were the best part, they are spacious. It had a queen and 2 twins, one for each of our children. We were very comfortable the whole trip. The AC worked very well and the bathroom was spacious too. The hotel is very centrally located, it’s 10 mins walking distance to everything. If you are visiting the city for the first time I highly recommend staying here and asking for Unal at front desk to help you. You will not regret your stay here at all.

We absolutely loved the entire Recital Hotel’s staff! They did countless things that made our stay even more memorable and comfortable than it would have otherwise been. First of all, the beautiful, delicious breakfasts each morning were beyond expectation. Breakfasts (included in the price of our stay) came with an attentive & kind staff — especially Buse & Engin. I had cappuccinos every morning, Turkish salads, vegetables, olives, cheeses, and hot foods. At the front desk Mariam, Fatma, and a wonderful man made suggestions, taxi reservations, a Hamam (Turkish Bath) inquiry, cistern recommendations (Mariam TOOK US to one destination), restaurant recommendations, a laudermat run for laundry, & mini language lessons. One staff member even lent us HIS umbrella on a particularly rainy day when the hotel ran out of umbrellas to lend!! Our room was clean, there were many smiles, and we always had everything we needed. I was astounded by this hospitality. It was a joy to stay at the Recital Hotel.

The location was central to the sights first-trip visitors to Istanbul want to see. There is a great coffee shop on the corner. It’s 3 blocks to the Blue Mosque. It’s 2 blocks from the tram. It’s 4 blocks from the Grand Bazaar. We thought it was perfect. And it’s comfortable & pretty. We had a mini fridge in our room for fresh Turkish strawberries & Ayran.

And the staff cares for the cats in their neighborhood with outside shelter spaces and meat leftovers. They are the best!

This hotel is a great place to stay! We were able to walk to most sites. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate and create a pleasant stay. The breakfast was very good and staff obtained special items for my dietary needs. Staff anticipated needs very well and provided good suggestions for the area and transportation. We used the private transfer set up by hotel and had a great ride. The three person room was spacious enough for me, my husband and my sister.

I enjoyed staying at the Recital Hotel: All staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was varied and delicious, the hotel was near to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace and also close to restaurants and the very useful tram T1. I stayed twice and got a room upgrade on my second visit. This second room on the 5th floor was very quiet. Whenever I sent an email to the hotel (e.g. about booking transport from the airport to the hotel), I received a prompt reply. At the top of the hotel is a terrace with sea view, which is a definite bonus.
I felt safe and comfortable staying at the Recital Hotel and would happily stay again.

Recital hotel staff is very helpful and accommodating. The property is located approximately 7-10 min walk to Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The tram stops are nearby if you want to go to distant places.

We had the most amazing nine night stay at the Recital hotel. We were upgraded to a family suite which meant we had so much room for our long stay. The breakfast was amazing and varied each morning. There was always a happy face at the front desk to greet us and also to help us with all our questions about Istanbul; the friendliest staff we have ever experienced. The hotel is within walking distance to all the attractions of Saltanahmet. There were plenty of restaurants nearby as well. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Hotel room was not as pictured and was pretty shocked at condition. Towels were ripped and old. Hair dryer was completely melted off on the plastic and super outdated. Bathroom lighting was terrible and shower head water pressure as well as toilet flushing pressure was incredibly weak. Room had a terrible smell each time and that smell would not go away. I would not stay in the same hotel if I go back to Istanbul.

Stayed for the third time at The Recital for 6 nights in December 23. It's a fantastic and faultless hotel. It's clean, friendly and close to many of Istanbul's sites and attractions.
A special mention for the breakfast. Lots of choices and very healthy!
I had a lovely stay and have no hesitation in giving it top marks and recommending it.
One note of caution. The Havuzlu restaurant in the grand bazaar is a total rip off. No prices are listed for the dishes and they see tourists coming. I paid the equivalent of £20 for a small bowl of not very exciting stew and a small quantity of rice. Twice as much as for a good quality meal.

The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were really nice. I had a good room (deluxe) with great views and two balconies.
I chose this room because I thought it was at the top of the building but there was a terrace above it. The terrace was used by smokers and they moved the chairs. The noise of dragged chairs was terrible and I couldn’t sleep until the last smoker had left the terrace. I told the hotel, I asked that smokers be told not to move the chairs and as I left I suggested they buy rubber feet for the chairs. If it wasn’t for the noise, it would have been great. I hope they fix the problem.

We enjoyed our stay at the Recital Hotel. It was clean and quiet. Breakfast was great, several Turkish style dishes. All of the staff were super nice and helpful. They also gave us a map and a list of things to do and see in the area. One of the ladies even offered to take us to the Cistern but by the time we were ready to go it was pouring down rain. The hotel is very convenient and walking distance to many of the historical artifacts, shops, and food.
