The water in the swimming pool was extremely cold, making it impossible to swim. During my entire 4-night stay, I didn’t see anyone using the pool for the same reason. I reported this issue, but no action was taken. The steam room was also out of service for all 4 nights. We specifically paid a higher room rate because the property advertised a swimming pool and steam room, but neither was usable.

I also have children, and the main reason we booked this hotel was because they were excited to swim every evening — but they couldn’t use the pool at all due to the temperature.

The lights in the lobby were always off, and it was very dark every time we returned to the hotel in the evening. It didn’t feel inviting or welcoming.

As we checked out, we were unexpectedly asked to pay for the water we drank in the room. This charge was never mentioned to us before or during our stay, which was quite disappointing.

The rooms are quite small, and overall I feel the hotel is overpriced for what we received.

On the positive side, the staff were great, the location is convenient, and housekeeping did a very good job. Breakfast was decent, but it would be better if they added fried eggs as an option.

They had an issue the first day of our stay, but fixed it right away. Offered us transportation to the airport for the inconvenience. Staff very nice. Best of the hotel is staff and location. Our room was very very small. Worst was breakfast. EXPEDIA, however, sucks.

Room was mouldy and damp.
Staff were rude and almost offensively unhelpful. Fobbed off when tried to raise concerns about the room.

Spa mostly didn’t work- sauna and steam room didn’t work. When discussed with reception was told they did- clearly didn’t as it was around 30 degrees in the sauna and there was no steam or heat in the steam room.

Breakfast was poor and basic.

When raised further concerns was told by staff that should have complained sooner- we had tried to do but was told to wait until after the weekend morning.

The receptionist told us it was not possible to give a refund and then when we asked for the manager. The manager was in a meeting but the receptionist didn’t know where or when they would be back. The receptionist then gave me the number to call and it didn’t connect or ring.

The staff told me that it was impossible to give a refund and needed to contact hotels.com. Contacted hotels.com who said that we needed to contact the reception of the hotel. Went round in circles re this for a day. Been promised a partial refund. But yet to hear back from hotels.com if this will actually happen

Beautiful hotel with great spa, gym and swimming pool. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. And the location is excellent! Within walking distance of everything you want to see and visit in Istanbul. We loved our stay and will be going back again. Highly recommend for families with children.

This is a gorgeous hotel. Very clean, friendly staff, lots of restaurants, shops within walking distance… Metro & Tramway within walking distance. Breakfast was awesome… we had a very nice view of the square. Hotel very safe and quiet rooms!

My only complaint is that the blankets on the bed are small so for the double it’s difficult to share.

Exceptional service, such kind staff and cleaners. You’re very well taken care of. Very clean, excellent and safe location a few min walk from the Mosques and bazaar as well as a main strip with restaurants, shops, salons, Shisha lounges etc. definitely try the Ortaklar restaurant across the road it’s amazing especially the hummus!

Breakfast could have more variety, rooms are a little small but cosy, gym is basic, and can get noisy as it’s so central. Overall loved the stay though and the benefits far outweigh the criticism.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Very close to historic old city, main attractions within walking distance, many options for coffee, dining.
Just know, standard rooms are pretty small, which is fine if you are coming for just a short visit. We came for 2 weeks and had to upgrade to a larger room. Also know, all rooms have a very small closet and no drawers to put clothes away (we had to use third bed in our room for that), which is ok for a short stay. Bathrooms were kind of small, but comfy with good hot shower, and water pressure, no problems with plumbing at all. Rooms and hotel are pretty clean, and cleaning ladies were wonderful and very sweet!
Breakfast buffet was pretty good, nice coffee machine with all different options, eggs, cereal, salads, cheeses and local cold cuts, fruits, breads and pastries, nuts, deserts, juices.
Hotel has a small, basic gym, small pool, sauna, and a steam room that we used.
Overall, pleasant stay at the hotel, thank you!

I wouldn’t book this place smells like a sewage rooms very old needs updating, also Expedia are useless no help when you want to change as I wasn’t happy with the hotel so raised it due to my wife being pregnant but Expedia said here we will help but did not do anything and hotel stuff didn’t really care. Being a frequent flyer this was the first time I booked with them and will be last time and hands on heart worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

The hotel staff are kind & friendly.
The hotel itself needs some updating to compete with nearby properties set at this price point. There is no restaurant, the spa facilities were not working, while there is a hammam, massage facilities etc, there is no spa attendants. The internet was continually cutting out, & as a business traveler, this was not ideal. I was also given a twin room, which as an solo adult traveler, not the most comfortable. The room itself was very dark, especially the bathroom.

Cost effective with a tiny pool and gym. Breakfast was poor and took too long serving each person individually. No pastries or fresh honey dripping from a honey comb like other hotels. Front desk limited in English speakers and unable to understand much. Room was cleaned however the glasses and cups were just turned over with dry tea and dirt bits easily visible. Location was amazing. Worth a stay for the price but don’t expect too much from the hotel.

Gorgeous Hotel... Except for the Rooms...

The hotel is gorgeous. The restaurant is beautiful and delicious. The hamam and all of the other facilities are wonderful. It's a wonderful hotel.. Except for the rooms, which seem to be held over from the 1970s. Many Turkish hotels suffer this condition. Gorgeous hotels, outdated rooms. So I can't recommend it for the price listed, there are other better options, even on the exact same block. But it's not awful, just not as good as it should be. With a room renovation, it would be amazing. Everything else is so good. Shout-out also to the manager who chased us to the sidewalk after we checked out and said \"Give us a 5-star review\", as a demand, not a question, with the meanest look possible... Or... what? What happens exactly if we don't?! So anyway, no, angry manager lady, it's not a 5 star review. And threatening us won't get you one. But it's a nice hotel and the other service staff were wonderful and very helpful.

I’ve this hotel for a quick business trip to Istanbul due to its location. The room itself is clean and the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately my room was close to the elevator, so It’s not completely calm and due to noise from the floor, running water pipes and air condition. The breakfast was all right. WiFi worked great. Overall, I would stay again.

I booked 3 rooms at Antea Hotel for 5 nights. The rooms were bit small compared to other hotels but overall it was kept nice and clean. The staff were simply amazing, always smiling and greeting you. They are also very accommodating. If you are traveling with kids than I suggest Antea hotel as the location is great. Grand bazar is about 10 minutes walk, mosques are also 10 minutes walk the opposite direction. Local restaurants and shops are 3 minutes away, open until late nights.

If I ever go back and visit Istanbul, I would definitely stay at Antea Hotel again.

Hotel smells and the rooms were tiny. The breakfast was basic and disappointing.
Kids did not like this hotel and staff were not friendly or approachable. No iron in the room and some days we went without as wait was too long. My girls wanted to swim but the indoor pool was freezing cold and the hotel staff also decided to turn down the water temperature which meant my girls had cold showers showers. Would not recommend to anyone.

1- The rooms were very tight and not comfortable with very poor view.
2- The bathroom was very wet.
3- The breakfast was very poor and not tasty.
4. There is only 1 elevator in the hotel, and sometimes not working properly.
5- The breakfast staff were not professionals, and they were dealing with the tourists by bad way.
6- The reception staff were ok, but I saw them smoking in their place and they were trying to hide the cigarette under the desk.

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. And it was was such a great experience. The location is superb, easily accesible to all tourist attraction points. All hotel staffs are so friendly and very helpfull. I would give full 5 out of 5 stars for the customer service. The facility for sauna, steam bath and hamam was great. The attending staff for the facility was very friendly and such a nice lady. Definitely will stay in this hotel again if i'll visit istanbul in near future. Thank you so much and my appreciation to all hotel staffs for making my holiday in istanbul such a great experience and sweet memories.

Good stay, spoilt by theft from our room.

We chose this hotel because of it's location and good reviews and recommended it to other friends who were joiningu us from the UK and USA. The rooms although small are perferctly comfortable and well appointed. On the negative side, the breakfast was not very appealing for the UK/USA pallet and dishes were not replenished frequently enough [kept having to ask], also the guest services woman would patrol the breakfast room trying to get you to book tours. My main problem with the hotel was after checking out and moving to our second hotel in Istanbul, I discovered that I had left a duty free bag with 2 cartons of cigarettes under the dresser. I called the hotel the next morning to say that I would come by to pick them up, but was told that housekeeping had not found them. I know for a fact that I left them there and having visited thousands of hotels as part of my job as a flight attendant, I know that housekeeping staff do not throw out bags without checking the contents first, so can only assume that these were taken by the staff. Such a pity, as we had met so many honest, genuine and helpful Turkish people during our visit.

Well positioned hotel. Enjoyed their generous breakfast. Its within walking distance of attractions. The guest relations manager is superb. Her being very good at both English and Turkish makes things much easier. Thanks a lot Ferda! She gave valuable advice of what to do. We’ve search the web for the ideal vacation package: price/location/comfort. After reading some reviews we chose ANTEA Hotel. After spending 5 days I could tell you – we are 100% satisfied with our chose.
The hotel is in a perfect location. 15 minutes’ walk to the Topkapi palace (the furthest). Grand Bazar (5-10 min), Blue Mosque & Ayasofya & Hippodrome is 5 min walk from the hotel.
Very clean room. It is not very big rooms, but…you came to the Istanbul to see the historical places, not staying at the hotel for half a day. Our room was on the 3rd floor, above the kitchen (breakfast is on the 2nd floor. No discomfort/smell/noise or something similar.
Breakfast. We came at 9am, one hour to the closing time (07.30-10.00) and it was enough food to choose from. For those, who used to stay in UAI, this is not it. But we were completely satisfied with the variety of food for breakfast.
Hotel staff was very friendly and were ready to help us with all our questions regarding the sightseens or transport or any other subjects.
Thank you all. Now we have a place to stay in case of visiting Istanbul next time.

Room was comfortable and included bathrobes, which is nice if you plan to use hotel's own hamam spa. Only negative was pervasive cigarette smoke in hotel common areas, possibly from staff smoking in the open office and just outside main entrance doors.

Happy to stay again!

Great hotel staff and above standard. Would be happy to return. Very close to the main street for the Grand Bazzar with a good location to trams and resturants. About 50 lt from the Airport to the Hotel By Taxi.

Nice and great location

Very nice hotel, had a sauna and pool which we didn't use but we loved having free breakfast and it was a wonderful location. We walked everywhere we went and the Bosphorus tour picked us up from the lobby

Good quality hotel

This was a late-booking to replace an appalling hotel I had booked two blocks down the road. In comparison, this was a palace, newly refurbished, clean, great amentities, including a small pooi, gym and sauna. Very friendly, helpful & professional staff made this a comfortable stay. The room was great, complete with toiletries and even a TV inside the mirror. Good location, very close to the main tourist precint and the metro tram. Only negative was an ugly view out of the window. Definitely worth a recommendation.

Amazing value for money

Stayed a few days at Antea, and it was perfect. The hotel is simple, but clean, comfortable and has some good facilities like the hammam and indoor pool. Its super close to everything you want to see, and the staff is helpful. Four Seasons this is not, but I can say without a doubt that it was the best money we spent.

Very central. Good access to cash points, food, restaurants, trams. Shops nearby are very good and hassle free shopping. Quiet hotel with not many children. Very good buffet breakfast and perfect for all ages.

Excellent customer service

Fantastic stay, friendly staff and very helpful. Very clean. Three of us stayed in a special class bedroom. One double and a single bed. The shower it self was very spacious. Getting in and out of the bathroom was fine for me and I'm 6 months pregnant! Nice tv and air conditioning was good. As it was quiet the sauna and steam room was closed and the pool was empty of water. After we enquired about it they had everything running for us within a few hours. That also means they filled the mini pool which I thought was great service and a lot of effort put in just to please 3 of us. They also let use there printing facilities for free and gave us free drinks on arrival and a chat about the area and advice on places to visit with plenty of leaflets which kept us busy. Even though private tours and tourist things were at a high price on the leaflets, the hotel staff also explained how to use the local transport which was better value for money. They looked after our luggage in a secure room after check out time with no extra cost.

I would definatley recommend a stay. The only negative thing I can say really is that I've had better breakfast buffet in other hotels but again my demands were delt with very well by the exceptional staff.

I've read that some people had problem with the size of the bathroom, I can only imagin someone over 6ft 5 inches weighing over 17stones having a problem. You would have to be very large to complain about the size.

Great location only 2 minute walk to tram. Rooms are minuscule though and breakfast wasn't great. But staff were always welcoming and friendly.

Hotel did not meet our expectations

The Antea Hotel did not meet our expectations. Wallpaper hanging off of walls.
cabinet in front of our door had to be closed in order to open our door, two single beds, room needed some attention to detail.

it was very good location as it was about 250 m walking 2 the tram station, and about 500 m for the main hostirical places like aya sophya, grand pazar, topkapi, blue mosque. Really enjoyed my stay a lot.
