Perfect location, few minutes walk for main attractions! Good breakfast, excellent staff, hotel itself very clean.
HUGE problem are their beds! Firm is not a word to describe, rock hard!!! Pillows the same very hard. Paper thin walls, you can hear every word and sound, like literally someone in your bed. Shower cabin is very small, I am average size person was having trouble to get in or turn around. We had upgraded room, size is very good, but out of window like a prison courtyard.

Avoid at all costs - not suitable for women at all

Room-had minimal yellow lighting and faced a stairway no sunlight-the hotel manager told me he was doing me a favour- apparently I had booked one single and one double but he had given me a quadruple and a double!I had in fact booked two double rooms. Two days later a smaller room was made available to us which we had to decline as there was no space to even open a suitcase fully!
On the first morning for breakfast-the eggs had finished in the serving buffet we were told this would cost an extra 5 euros however as it was our first day they would give it us for free-Quite a shock as we had already paid for breakfast
The highlight of this trip was when my wallet went missing from my room-it was there the night before and after breakfast as we were leaving the hotel I noticed it was not in my bag-however when I questioned the hotel about this the manager advised me no one apart from housekeeping had been in my room and she had worked there for over six years ... hence definitely could not be a thief!
Final straw was as we were leaving the hotel - on the 1st day we were advised the drinks were free in the room - we actually double checked this with them - as we were in the taxi two men run up to my father and said pay for them and tried to pry open the taxi and get aggresive! Would not even check with the initial person who told us they were free!
Finally the manager had no respect for women at all – almost dismissed all my concerns and did not take me seriously at all

Great location!

This is a smaller hotel conveniently located in the old city. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They gave us great information which made it easy for us to make our plans on what to visit and where to eat. We could walk to most everything including the Blue Mosque.
The hotel is clean and nice. There is a wonderful bar upstairs with great views. The rooms are good size and quite comfortable. We loved having a room where we could look out on the street and feel connected to the area.
We would definitely stay here again.

We had a really great time staying at the Aprilis Hotel. The staff looked after us so well, with such courtesy and kindness. The rooms were very clean and comfortable; the hotel was very central for all of our sightseeing; the breakfasts were plentiful; and the views from the rooftop bar were incredible. The hotel is on the main tram route, with only 10 minutes walk down the hill to Haggia Sophia and the Basilica Cisterns. We stayed here for 12 nights and found plenty to do in and around the city. The staff greeted us with Turkish tea on arrival,. and brought complimentary drinks to our room one night.The breakfast staff were super helpful, and the reception staff were a great help in helping us plan our sightseeing. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.

The property cannot be in a better location, but the place is very dated and the room was way too small. Because it was Winter, we couldn’t turn on air or fan, and we were always very hot, having to sleep with window open and noise not pleasant.

It’s a nice location but you can tell the extra paint and the nice decorations were only applied to the lobby and breakfast area. The room itself hasn’t seen much love for a while. The worst part of it, the room has AC but it didn’t cool enough. The room felt like it was 25C all day and all night. Which is better than 32c that was outside but difficult to sleep and be comfortable all day. Only stayed here because of the 3 beds.

A good place to be if you would like to walk to all the historical attractions around SutanHammet. The staff were friendly, helpful courteous and just nice humans. The rooms are cozy and clean. There is no noise coming in from the street level. There were no in-dining options but there are plenty of restaurants on the same street. Thank you Aprilis for a memorable visit.

The room was comfortable and clean, the roof terrace bar is stunning but the best factor about the hotel is the staff. Enjoyable stay - the location is brilliant - so close not more than 2 mins from a tram stop - then you are connected across Istanbul. The staff are really helpful and go out of their way to help you - I can’t say enough good things about their customer service. Breakfast was pleasant and enough to give you a good start to the day. We had our elderly grandmother so my parents and them had a connecting rooms and this was very beneficial for us. Not all the rooms have a window which looks outside so check the type of room you book beforehand, economy room etc. the cleaning service was also brilliant.

Very good location. Bedding and bathroom were clean, and cleaned when requested. My only criticism is the state of the room itself was a bit dated. The floors had water damage, and the lighting in the room was very dim. It had more wear and is older than the impression you get in the pictures.

Upon arrival the receptionist told us that due to the bad weather your room is cancelled so you should switch to Aprilis Gold Hotel,this bothers me a lot because my father and mother were elderly and they cant took the whole way long! After a tough arguement i refused to go to the other hotel so they were obliged to give me my original rooms.

We really enjoyed our staying , Ismail and all the staff were excellent and very helpful .... I really recommend this hotel , especially because it is so close to the main attractions (5 to 10 min walking to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Museum, Bacilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar) , plus the trolley is just a few steps from the hotel, so the location is perfect!

Great value in the heart of Sultanahmet.

Great value in Sultanahmet. Rented 2 bedrooms. They were pretty basic but cozy and functional. Bathrooms were modern but like most European standards, a little bit tight. The staff was SUPER friendly. Always willing to help in anyway. Carrying bags, answering questions, even the host went to a supermarket to buy a couple of beers for us. We had mini fridge in each room. Light train station is 5 minutes away and from there you can explore all Istanbul. Within walking distance are AyaSofiya, the Blue Mosque and tons of restaurants, bars, shops even a supermarket couple of doors down. Breakfast was pretty standard. Scrambled eggs, cheese platter, cold meats, boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, tea and bread. The whole place worked for us. It is not luxurious but it provides great location, value and included breakfast which is all we need to explore a city, since we are out all day long.

Aprilis Hotel was an amazing place with family

I stayed in the hotel with my family total of 7 people and i must admit that it was one of the most pleasant stay. Employees were very nice and helpful. I felt welcomed from the moment we walked into the receptionist and Ismail was at the desk. He was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us information on what is around us and how to get around the city. The breakfast was very delicious and clean environment.
Overall i would definitely go back and stay in the same hotel, price was reasonable, rooms were decent and bathrooms were clean. Room service was very good and on time every day, i must say those ladies were doing an excellent job with big smile on their face.

Room with a \" View\"

The hotel in itself is located in a good area to see the many varied attractions which are within walking distance.
The room we were given 307 , had a view of a brick wall and fire exit stairs. This was very disappointing as we had requested a room with a view almost 6 months prior to arriving.
As a result the room was very dark and we had to request 2 table lamps but they only gave us one. The lighting in the room was poor.
The fridge freezer was full of ice and never ever really got cold. They could have defrosted the fridge. It has built up over the months.
Suggestion: Defrost freezer regularly.
The beds were firm and ok. The bathroom was fine except the sink had a massive crack inside it. May I suggest management replace the sink? Shower was nice and powerful.
The AC made a noise even when it was switched off. It always sounded like it was on it's last leg and about to go down.But it held out during our stay.
The buffet breakfast was average. Nothing great as very monotonous with same food every day during our 7 day stay there.

It started at 7.30 am ,but never was it ready then. Even when you came down after and hour ,you had to wait on the scrambled eggs and the mushrooms. If it starts at 7.30 am , I suggest the staff have it all prepared by then. I disliked asking them when it was coming out.
Coffee machine broke down and it remained that way over whole weekend as no-one was available to fix it. Pretty poor show.

The hotel staff were all really good. From the receptionist who will run out to help us with the pushchair after we returned from shopping to the catering team who were very attentive and quick to clear tables. The reason I am not giving the hotel 5 star review is because of health and safety. The hotel sign under reception desk has become lose and the tip of the sign is sharper than a knife. During checkin I got a huge deep cut on my upper leg. Although the staff of apologitic the hotel did not even have a first aid box. I was also shocked when I realised that they had not fixed the sign (I checked out three days later). So please be careful and watch your foot.

The hotel is in great area, walking distance to everything. Well, crowded area a bit dirty streets - but cannot blame hotel for that.
Extremly friendly staff.
Hotel has is actually very clean. It has seen better days and some updates in bathroom (painting, shower update) would be good.
Cannot complain. Would stay again, we were 4 in a big family room with queen bed and 2 twin beds - enough space. Breakfast was solid. Nice experience. Booked shuttle to airport through hotel and some tours.

Nice hotel, very close to everything

Lovely 4 day trip, this hotel is very close to pretty much everything you need to see and do in Istanbul and if not the tram is literally a stone's throw away which takes you around everywhere. The staff at the hotel are also very accomodating and pleasant. Can't wait to go back and city them!

Amazing location

My stay at the Aprillis was great. The hotel is situated at an ideal location literally walking distance to the grand bazaar,blue mosque and all major local attractions. The boys at reception were very accommodating and helpful and always ready to help especially Ismail and Murrat.. Ismail personally came and bid us farewell which I thought was a very sweet gesture. I will definitely recommend the Aprillis hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Location was excellent as it was near to the grand bazaar, blue mosque and the tram stop. The hotel was close proximity to bakeries, restaurants and supermarkets.

All the staff from the receptionists to the cleaners were friendly. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh linen provided.

The only downside was the size of the room. We paid for a triple room but were given a double room with a folding bed which made the room cramped. The hotel doesn't provide duvets only very thin blankets. We had to ask for extra blankets for comfort which was provided without any hesitation.

Breakfast was average but food refills were slow and used to run out quickly.

The hotel's location is very nice but there is one guy in the front desk that wants to rip you off every time he can!!!

Was pushing me to rent a taxi for 120 TL (for 1.5 km trip) that I was able to get for only 20!!!!!

Also, for all day trips he plays the same game.

Nice boutique hotel in the center of the old city

Everything was fine,except for air conditioning. It was cold outside,so
we turned on heat, but even at the max (32 degrees Celsius)we got the cool air only. We discovered this problem at night, and the next morning we left that's why we didn't contact the front desk.

The staff make this hotel what it is. They go out of their way to help. I would stay here again if the price is right.
The hotel cant be reached by coach but can be reached by taxi.
Its a very nice comfortable boutique hotel. I have stayed in nicer more modern 4 star hotels (but this is also a nice hotel and the staff at this hotel were brilliant. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Its has a blend of traditional and modern. Not a huge hotel but also not too small.
It is a little expensive compared to some others but the location is very good. All the tourist places are within walking distance.

50 meters from tramway- perfect location for sites

We booked a 3 person room and stayed for one week at this hotel. It was spotless, in a great location, and the staff were always helpful and accommodating (they rounded up a wheelchair for us for one of our tours for my father who has trouble walking, and they lent me an istanbulkart for which I just added credit). They were amazing, friendly, and always greeted us when we walked in the door.

The hotel is 50 meters away form the tramway stop, and a five minute walk to the blue mosque, Aya Sofia, Basilicca Cistern, and Topkapi place area. One of the entrances to the grand Bazarr is just on the other side of the tramway stop and to the left. It is a VERY convenient location. The tramway can also take you across to the Galata bridge in no time.

Please note - hotel Aprilis no longer have carpeting in the rooms as the pictures show. All rooms now have new laminate flooring to add to the cleanliness factor (hotel slippers provided as well).

The breakfast was plentiful and had a lot of choices. They only change a few items daily, but there is enough to choose from if you don't want the same thing every day.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

While booking this hotel, i booked Aprilis Hotel, while i was checked into Aprilis Hotel, God knows which one is better.

I am very very disappointed with Hotels.com for rating this as 4 star hotel, if this is how you rate hotels & visitors get misguided then i better not book through Hotels.com anymore.

very small hotels, not worth 4 star at all from no angle. it shld have been rated as 3 star. Rooms are very very small, they shld not sell rooms for 2 adults & 2 kids as after one double bed & 2 single bed, there is no space left to walk around. we had 4 std size bags but could not keep them in room. Kept 2 bags in room & 2 in store room with our hand carry.

Housekeeping - very poor - tea container was dirty from day one when we checked in, tried making tea the next evening & found kettle VERY VERY dirty.

washroom - very small.

everything is not at all 4 star, only staff is polite & helpful.

PLUS POINT - IN THE CITY THATS ALL.

Decent hotel in old town Istanbul

Location is the ONLY thing this hotel has going for it, Even though I had requested a few things about the room I wanted to reserve months before, they placed me in the ONE that I asked not to have. There were toxic fumes coming into the bedroom from 5 at night till 3 in the morning. The room was hot and stuffy but we couldn't keep the window open. I tried to run the HVAC, but they control it from the desk and never told me. The bed was as hard as a rock. I tried to blow dry my hair and only cold air was allowed. I was in a hurry to make it to the port to catch our ship and the front desk didn't even know where the dock was. It was pouring rain one night and they had only two umbrellas.... Does that say it all?

A week in Istanbul at the Aprillis Hotel

The hotel is in a side street very close to the tram system and is easily located. It offers a pick up service from the Ottoturk Airport that is a great boon to the independent traveler with heavy cases. Thus avoiding stress and total confusion on arrival at this busy place.
The room was clean and well appointed with a balcony facing the road outside, complete with a shower bathroom of a high standard.Service was friendly and all the staff were found to be very helpful and obliging.
Istanbul is a fascinating city with a very rich and cultural lifestyle .Many Mosques and museums are open to be viewed with enjoyment in this bustling city.
A holiday venue and stay that should not be missed!

Look elsewhere

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. Upon arriving in Istanbul late at night, the front desk attendant told us that they were having issues with their rooms and we are in for a treat because they will place us in their sister hotel. I don't know what the treat was because we were placed at another hotel 2 blocks away. The room was horrible. It felt unkempt and unsafe. There were holes in our pillow cases. The walls had many marks. Loud construction right next door began at the crack of dawn. We were too tired to deal with it so late in the evening and after being so tired from our flight. We checked out the very next day and didn't even bother with their breakfast.

Don't even think of staying here. The price point can give you better options.

confirm reservation before you go

Really liked the hotel, but my room was over booked and I had to spend the night with 4 family members. They offered me another hotel for one night, but I was too tired to even think about going to a different place. Unfortunately this is the 2nd time that this happened to me in Istanbul ( different hotels ). make sure you confirm before you show up. Over all the hotel is very cute and super well located.

Good Location

The hotel and room was clean and front desk staff helpful. Breakfast is not what North Americans are used to but is fine. A few steps from the main street with the restaurants and shops and close to the Blue Mosque. A 5 minute walk to the Grand Bazaar and other shops. We stayed the day before our cruise and took the hotel arranged shuttle bus for 40 euros paid to the hotel, not the driver. Pricey but worth it. Public transit is way too busy to be riding with lots of luggage and the cabs are a gamble with their scams.
If you are going to the cruise port the best and fastest way is by the tram on the main street. It only costs about 4 TL (about $2) and by noon is not so congested.

Not all it was promised

We were sold a room with memory foam beds, a patio and large screen TV. We were given a first floor room with beds that had coils protruding into our backs and heavily stained carpet floors. French doors opened directly to bars over a loud lane way. One of the coffee mugs in the room had a broken handle, but it remained in the room the entire stay despite having been used. The location was great, but I would not stay here again

Close to all the main attractions

We had a wonderful stay at Aprilis hotel in the Sultanhamet district. The staff were very welcoming and efficient and treated us royally. The breakfasts were Turkish style and very good - food very fresh. We would love to stay in this hotel again.

Beautiful Istanbul

Hotel is centrally located. Front desk and Staff are really friendly. They helped us with Taxi to and from the airport Ataturk. 35 eu one way. Free wifi. Good AC. And elevator works. Beautiful bathroom. But toilet was not flushing. Front desk promised to fix it. But didn't. We used the breakfast address toilets as we had no time to follow-up.
Restaurants and Grand bazar near by.
The mosques are also close by.
Great stay.

Breakfast is in the basement and kinda skimpy on fruits. But satisfying..

Hotel is nice and the location is the best you could probably get.

Right in the heart of sultanahmet, its literllay 5 min walk from Blue Mosque(Sultan Ahmet Mosque), Grand Bazar, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Bascillia Cistern and loads of kebab shops :-)

You can also get easy access to Bosphorous cruise, and many place to Turkish Baths (Hamams).

Sulemaynie Mosque and Galata Tower/Bridge are around a 20 min walk or 5 min tram journey.

good hotel but only is you stay in a balcony room

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was very nice and spacious with a balcony. It was the standard room. Do not stay in the economy rooms as they are tiny and claustrophobic! Breakfast was ok (not the greatest selection) and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again if I come to istanbul

Great place to stay in Istanbul

This hotel is located on a side street in great proximity to major sites in Istanbul. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early, but needed a few minutes during which they served us tea in the lobby. Our room was small, but we only spent time there dropping off our purchases and sleeping. The AC worked very well. We had a pretty nice view of the sea from the rear of the hotel. The breakfast was VERY substantial consisting of traditional European fare (cheese, meat, bread, dried fruit, some hot items, coffee/tea/juice). The only negative was a very slow elevator which was only an issue since we were on the top (5th) floor. Also, the electricity only works when you are there (your room key operates the system) so you can't charge any electronics while you are gone or leave the AC running. This hotel is not located directly in the area with major tourist bars and restaurants, but they are a short walk away.

Much tinier than anticipated

The room was very small, barely enough space for the bed, pictures made it seem bigger. Rooms were right on top of each other, you could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in rooms next to you. There was a loud clicking coming from other room that didn't stop all night. Hotel location was perfect, right in city center, around everything. Staff was nice, room was clean.

Location, location, location!!!

Like the title said, the hotel cannot be beaten as far as it's location is considered. In the heart of Sultanahmet & walking distance to main attractions like Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace & others. While a metro train station is located a block from the hotel if you need to explore the rest of the city (highly recommend Istakal St., Ortokay district). Service of the staff is fantastic especially when you compare it with the surroundings as most people are not very friendly & only tourist oriented for business. Small Europe standard room & bathrooms but that I believe would be comparable to every other hotel in this area.

Excellent Location. So close to everything.

This trip was a present to my parents. The three of us from arrival to departure had no complaints what so ever. The staff was amazing. The hotel Manager Eurkan was so helpful. Sat us down with maps and told us what to see etc. Arranged the Bosporous Cruise for us (pickup and drop off all included).

The location of the hotel is amazing. It is 5 minutes walk to the Grand Bazaar on your left. Another 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and Bacilica Cistern. The Cemberlitas Tram station is 1 minute walk.
Spice Bazaar 5 minutes by Tram ride away and 15 minutes Tram ride to Taksim for night life.

Breakfast was good, However it is the same throughout the 5 day stay. Would like some change if possible.

The hotel managers understand and speak english.

They also arranged a drop off back to the airport for us at a reasonable charge. Car arrived on time no problems at all.

Lovely Hotel

Great location, every place is walkable distance.
Front desk Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful- esp Kadir and Colleagues. We had delayed luggages from the airport, these guys helped us out with most of our requests like phone chargers, and helped us contact the airport for an update all night. and even came to us with our luggage at 3am- which alleviated our stress and made us very happy.

they always offered us teas and coffees, made sure we were comfortable and gave us lots of directions and where we could do or what to do.
