We only had a short stay here for 2 nights but we were seriously impressed. The beach front location is amazing. A sea view room with the best views of the sunset. The rooms are clean, staff friendly. Breakfast had so much choice (I’m a picky eater). The pool area has plenty of sunbeds. Outside the hotel grounds are so may restaurant options, shops to stock up on snacks and drinks. I would definitely return.

Aging tired resort. Excellent clean pool, beach is excellent despite having to pay for lounges, food is good. In room tv is modern. Many things in the room need to be replaced. Shower pressure is not consistent and is a problem. The reason we wouldn’t return however is because of a ridiculous pool/beach towel policy. No towel stand on the property. Want a towel replaced? Go back to your room and call housekeeping. Want a second towel? Forget it.

I enjoyed my stay however there are many things that could improve.
Breakfast should be available until 11am at least.
Tea coffee could be available 24 hours complimentary.
At 10am exact the machines are covered up and it is like a mortuary. It looks awful. I feel like a child who is not responsible to have the Machine to use and seems hostile.
The little sparrows flying all about the food is not healthy.
I love them but a staff member should be there at all times to shoo them away.
You could install bird barriers in the roof area so they couldn't roost. ( small Metal spikes can stop them from landing) I know you cant stop them from coming in as it is all open and that is part of the uniqueness of Kata Beyond.
There should be a dedicated Pool boy to assist guests with opening or closing Umbrellas. Nobody helps. This person could also assist with drinks from the Bar.
The biggest 2 problems I felt is there is no toilet in the Pool area. It is a long walk through the dining area and the downstairs toilet
2 or 4 Wc's could be located right near the pool area and would be so convenient as most guests are mature and it is very inconvenient.
The little water scoops near the beach stairs to wash off beach sand are cute but antiquated. 2 showers could be easily placed in this area. It is already there in the area. It just needs proper showers not taps and a water scoop.

I loved the convenience of the ocean being so close and watching the waves rolling and the people passing by. It

First off this may just be a miscommunication but the hotel was supposed to charge half a few months prior to check in when I booked. I booked multiple rooms from Expedia for this trip and assumed the charge was put through. The hotel apparently didn’t charge which caused miscommunication during check in. I just paid and decided I’ll dispute it later if necessary. Then the room… definitely need to train housekeeping on cleaning. Has a damp smell throughout the room. And the mosquitos! We literally had them buzzing in our ears while we slept. The beach access and views made my stay worth it. Very nice facility. Just needs some upgrades or deep cleaning in the rooms for what they charge. Breakfast had lots of options. Also some of the staff could have been friendlier. If you’re looking for luxury this ain’t it but it has potential or may have been 20 years ago

The beachfront location with a nice pool is unmatched in Kata Beach for the price. The facility is very nice and the complimentary breakfast buffet has a lot of great options. It’s a beautiful property and the rooms are spacious, the rooms could just be updated a bit, very late 2000s vibes.

The property is set in beautiful gardens right on the beach. It has very impressive common areas including a very good gymnasium. It's an impressive properly but our room was really old and tired and had a musky damp smell. The rooms are definitely due for a major refurb. Apart from that The breakfast buffet was a little limited and bacon was always empty. Lastly, I don't like the fact that guests put towels on poolside chairs from early in the morning. Their policy on not reserving seats needs to be enforced so everyone can have an opportunity to sit by the pool.

Staff didn’t seem to want to be there; tried making us pay cash for lunch so they could overcharge us (asked us to pay 400bht, then we requested to bill the room it magically changed to 350bht). Additionally the cleaners didn’t bother cleaning our bathroom mirror all week (dead mosquito was there for the whole week) and every time they made our bed, the blanket was around the wrong way.

Its really the little things that make the difference and Beyond Kata seemed much better before the renovation.

I absolutely loved staying at Beyond Kata. My room had a gorgeous full ocean view and balcony. The staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The pool area and daybeds were really nice. The beach here is clean and nice for swimming. I’m so happy to have stayed at Beyond Kata.

Wonderful hotel right on the beach. We had an amazing time. A thousands positive things to say about the place. One pretty big negative: don’t use the concierge service to book excursions- we booked a boat trip to James Bond Island for 9 people and they charged US$1,300. After I already booked it I went around the corner to one of the dozens of travel agents and got a quote on the EXACT same trip for US$600. It was my own fault but I learned a huge lesson.

This was our fifth stay at Kata and it was perfect, as usual. Location at end of quiet beach, gorgeous ocean view, wonderful pool, excellent breakfast. Front desk very helpful. Shuttle from hotel to airport was great.

Pool bartender was disgusting.

The staff at the pool bar was very slow. They often saw us waiting to be served but continued to watch whatever was playing on the outdoor TV. The worst part is that the bartender sneezed while making someone's drink and never washed his hands. Then he blew his nose into the bar sink and went back to making drinks. Disgusting! The hotel location was perfect and the rooms was nice.

The positive thing about this property was that it was on the beach. However, they never had a guest relations rep available for our entire 5 day stay, they did not have anyone who really understood English, they would not adjust our AC so it would cool our room, the room smelled musty, the toilet rarely flushed, and the pics that they displayed for the daily dinner buffet specials were not accurate (ex. Steak & Shrimp on Friday night had no steak or shrimp!). It could be a cultural thing, but none of the food was ever hot; Luke warm to cold only. I would never stay here again!

Great trip to Phuket. Beyond Resort was in a beautiful location on Kata Beach. Would love to have seen the AMPLE staff at breakfast put to a better use. You don't need 10 people waiting on your table, replacing every plate, glass and utensil you use. It can become a little irritating even as polite as they were. Maybe a few of them could go down to the beach and collect some rubbish so the area stays pristine.

Beach view, access and pool area are all nice and there are plenty of sunbeds and decent drinks service. Staff on the whole were not the usual cheery and friendly staff we are used to in Thailand.
Our room had a waft of sewage from the poolside toilets occasionally but was otherwise clean and pleasant with a nice location.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was kind and helpful. We stayed on the lounge chairs right by the sea most days. The pool was great. The prices however for drinks and food was a little expensive if you stayed in the hotel. But we were at walking distance of a bunch of other nice restaurants. The hotel has many rules. You can’t bring in outside food, if you loose a bottle of water you need to pay, leave a towel you need to pay. Some of these are understandable but some rules were just unnecessary

Bed is not very comfortable
Pillow are of cheap quality and not comfortable
Hot water is not consistent, you get sudden cold and sudden hot (I meant really hot)
Breakfast is not up to standard, the only thing that is good is the noodle station and the coffee.
Staff at poolside are not friendly (they have unwelcome faces), kind of unusual for Thais to be unfriendly. And the food suck!
The ventilation in lobby is really bad specially during breakfast, the smell from the omelette/ fried eggs station is overwhelming.

If you don't need to be in Kata, I believe there many better choices.

What a lovely resort Beyond Resort Kata is. I cannot speak highly enough of the resort & will definitely be back. We enjoyed our stay very much & the picture postcard location right on Kata beach is just lovely. The rooms are nice, the staff are wonderful & Glenn the Asst. General Manager is just an amazing operator. Nothing is too much trouble for Glenn, he is extremely helpful & he is definitely an asset to Beyond Resort Kata & The Kata Group in general. I would highly recommend the Premier Delux rooms which have beautiful views of Kata beach, the Pool Access rooms & the Delux rooms, which also have partial sea views. All the rooms are of a good size with large balconies / outdoor seating areas. I also liked the glass elevator, the open plan look of the resort, the absolute beachfront location & of course the traditional Thai architecture. Outside of the resort, there are lots of restaurants & shops etc, all within a short walking distance. So, I would say, all in all, for the reasons mentioned above, this is definitely the resort to book for your next stay in Kata Beach, you won’t regret it. “Thanks Beyond Resort Kata for a lovely stay”.

Great location, beautiful resort, and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the room was filled with cockroaches. We called the front desk multiple times but all they did was spray the drain pipe in our room, which did not stop them from coming. When it was time to check out and pay I wanted to speak to a manager. First, they kept telling me he would be in later and then they said he wouldn’t be back until 7am the next morning. They gave me an email to contact but we still have not heard back from him. We tried contacting the hotel via hotels.com but they have not reposnded through this medium either. I would not suggest this resort, unless you’re comfortable rooming with cockroaches during your stay.

Very nice hotel with an excellent location

This a great resort, and one of only a few that is actually on the water in Kata (the others being club med and the Boathouse, I believe). I can’t stress the value of this location enough. Kata’s beach is actually mostly blocked by the wall around club med. You can only really access the beach along the northern end of the beach, or the southern end, and this is on the water in the south. If you stay in the middle you’ll have to walk a mile or more to get to the beach.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The pool area is outstanding, and looks right out over the beach. There are chaise lounges right on the edge of the patio just above the beach. This is great for having an ocean view without being bothered by the vendors on the beach trying to sell you junk. And since the breeze is blowing off the ocean all day there were no mosquitos.

The room was a bit dated, but very spacious, and had a large balcony. It smelled a bit like cigarettes when we arrived but after running the A/C for an hour or two the smell dissipated.

You cannot beat location if you are there for that beach resort vibe.
I had looked at many other areas, and nothing compares to this beachfront property.
There are plenty of massages, restaurants and bars and few shops.
However If you are interested in more shopping or nightlife, head to Patong. Otherwise its only 25 mins away and easily accessible.
Highly recommend it.

The WiFi is NOT free. Free WiFi only in the lobby- if you want WiFi in your room or by the pool, you must either purchase WiFi access or upgrade your room. We chose to upgrade rooms, and it was a bit disappointing. Rooms Need an update. Everything in general showed a lot of wear, and the bathrooms could use a deep clean. Bed was decent and the AC was cold. The view was amazing however and the best thing about the hotel. This area of Phuket is pricy for Thailand. The hotels food and drinks are also very expensive. Prices similar to a resort in the states. The staff at the pool bar was not very helpful our first day. $10USD for a drink, you’d think you can at least get some good service.

Great beach front hotel -

The beach is steps away from the hotel. The entrance to the hotel is private & the lobby & the breakfast area have high atrium like ceiling- very beautiful, breezy no air condition necessary- we stay at the wing facing the ocean. Breakfast from 6:30-10 am in the atrium is sumptuous & lots of variety. We stayed for breakfast at least two hours or more. Slowly eating & enjoying the ocean breeze & the sound of the ocean waves crashing onto the beach. In the evening, lots of fruits/food/ massage vendors outside of the hotels.

The location and facility is beautiful. Ste staff was very helpful and friendly.
What I did not realized when I booked a romantic vacation - There were MANY families with small children there - and as such LOTS of noise. We upgraded to the room with the semi private pool, expecting to have some peace and privacy - the other guests were camped out on lounge chairs right outside with their SCREAMING children.
Bottom line - NOT a place for a romantic getaway

After a room was assigned to me at the property, entered the room and there were ants everywhere. I informed them about it and they showed me a different room. Upon checking the other room noticed there were ants in the room as well and as soon as I entered the bathroom there was a cockroach. One of the staff members who was showing the room took a tissue and killed the cockroach right in front of my eyes. I asked them to give me another room. After waiting for about 20 mins I was shown a third room and same it had ants as well.
With a big heart I decided to take the first room we saw and asked them to do a room cleaning again. I waited outside and they started cleaning the room and brought bug spray with them. They were done cleaning in about 10-15 mins. After entering the room it smelled like bug spray so Unintentionally I had to leave the room and stay outside untill the smell of bug spray settled.
Other things: No free wifi in the room
Staff not helpful at all with the issues I faced even after paying premium price for the room.
Property felt a bit older and not well maintained

We booked with Hotels.com which came with free wifi, daily breakfast and a 22% F&B discount. But when we arrived, we had to change room because we were initially assigned a dingy mildew smelling dark room on the ground floor; we then ended up on the top floor corner unit partial sea-facing and lots of natural light. Everything was fine thereafter though ‘free wifi’ meant only in the lobby. This fact should have been indicated in Hotels.com correctly ‘free wifi in lobby’ as ‘free wifi’ is misleading since it does not include being in the room. When we checked out, we were not given the F&B discount and paid full for everything. Even tho Hotels.com stated a discount, the Cashier at checkout and the Reception at Check In obviously are not in sync with their systems; hence the oversight. I have written a letter to the GM 2 days’ ago so no idea if there will be a recourse on this. Other than that, the location was nice and other than the 1st day, everything else was fine. I would recommend this hotel but do read inbetween the fine lines and make sure you clarify what is free/boundaries, etc.

On arrival there was a problem with payment which I had to resolve. Communication in English was poor and I had to pay a THB 1700 telephone bill to cancel the first transaction with my bank. In the end I have received confirmation that the funds although not reflecting at the resort, was approved and at the Thai bank merchant. The resort was clean enough although more effort could be made to keep flies away from the buffet meals. An average experience at an average hotel.

A Three Star Hotel in a Five Star Location

Beyond Kata Resort is a three star property in a five star location.
The location on the beach is Five Star.
The pool area is 3.5
Our room was 3.75 ( Nice location looking over the pool and onto the ocean. Good size, with a nice porch and window seat. A little dated decor but nice. Bathroom was fine although the sink stopper didn't work. The AC took a while to cool the room and doesn't stay on unless your are in the room. Also unless you are in a Superior Room you will need to pay for wifi which is slow and only allows you to use two devices.
The \"dining area\" off the lobby was 3 star with tired decor.
The staff was fine. Solid 3.75 star.
I'm comparing this property to the Peninsula Hotel Bangkok which is a true Five Star Hotel.

Great location right on the beach. Staff was very nice. Pool was large and clean. Room was a good size with nice ocean view. Free breakfast buffet was best variety I have seen in 5 weeks of Asian travel. Resort is in town so it is close to everything.

THE HOTEL IS A BIT TIRED IN PLACES BUT THIS DID NOT STOP US HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME AT THE HOTEL AND THE ROOM WAS EXCELLENT

Great location and spacious rooms with good views

The hotel has nice spacious rooms with great views over the pool and beach . A good location where you can walk to local bars / restaurants and for around 300baht take a tuk tuk to Karon. The bathrooms are a little tired and the pool smaller than it looks in the photos . Average breakfast where as usual the hotel thinks orange juice is orange squash ( a problem for 90% of Thai hotels in my experience ) but nice breakfast area overlooking the sea .

High end resort, absolute beachfront. Hotel food and drink prices are expensive, but I guess that is to be expected. Plenty of other restaurants nearby to eat.

The picture of the room on Expedia didn't match the actual hotel room given. The hotel blamed Expedia and Expedia blamed the hotel. The pictures on Expedia showed a suite with a seperate living area however the hotel room we were provided with was a small single room. It made our stay very uncomfortable as we are a family.

I like the location. Walk out my room and there is the beach! Great restaurant. Very friendly staff. Nice accommodations with balcony overlooking the ocean. I didn’t like the cleanliness of the shower. Looks like mold growing in corner and I don’t see effort to clean or correct this problem.

Unbeatable location but hotel could be better

First impressions were pretty bad because the reception staff seemed rude and disinterested. Secondly, we only realized the WiFi wasn't free when we got there, our fault but every other hotel we stayed at, even very cheap ones had free WiFi.
If you love sitting by the pool and beach all day this place is for you but you can stay at nicer, far cheaper hotels minutes away if beach front isn't a priority.

Crooked by Hotel Staff

Everything was lovely upon checkout when they’ve added an additional 1000 Baht to my bill for something I paid for in cash. I simply asked for it to be brought to my room, but ensured I paid cash at the restaurant. It was still added as room service. I queried it and they became rude and refused to remove it from the room service. Never experienced something like that. I was basically made out to be a liar! It went on for a while and I just decided to pay. Very unprofessional. Well, they got an additional 1000 Baht out of me and did not handle the situation amicably. Very disappointed and I visit a lot of hotels. Something like this has happened before when someone else added something to my room and the hotel in question immediately apologised and removed the item from my bill without any questions. Pity this ethic is not practiced or endorsed by Beyond Resort Kata. Kudos for “stealing” 1000 Baht from me, Beyond Resort Kata! Future guests, check everything and ensure you keep every receipt. Thanks.

it was the only hotel around that area that seem to be at least a 3 stars.
It is totally misrepresented. It is not a luxury hotel at all. The bathrooms were so dated the smell of humidity. the smell outside the entrance of the hotel was terrible.

Good hotel on beach. We stayed in room 1308 which was very comfortable and clean The only issue was the hot water in the shower constantly going from luke warm to boiling hot. The breakfast buffet, while substantial, was extremely repetitious and boring towards the end on our 7 night stay.

Nice hote with good location

The first impression of the hotel was good. The check in process took a while and when we got to the room we were greeted with two massive bugs in the bathroom. Over the six day stay we had another five bugs running around the room. Although, the balcony door states to keep it closed at all times so the bugs don’t come in, I doubt that that’s where they came from. The place should really do a better job of pest control. The pool was great and the location was right next to the beach, which made the vacation very relaxing. Definitely go out of the hotel if you’d like to order a cab to the airport, or you’ll surely end up over paying.
