Location: Kata/Karon filthy traffic polluted urban cheap and nasty, dirty streets, bars and restaurants. Beaches - no space, completely ruined by crowds of people.

Noisy, screaming kids ruin holiday.

We stayed here last year and it was ok, but very little space to put clothes and stuff. We thought things might be better this year, unfortunately still not enough space. This time there was stupid parents totally ignoring there young children screaming, and running around the pool and splashing other holiday guests. The kid’s should be in the small pool, but the parents just let the kids do what they wanted to do without any care for there safety and letting them dive in and out of the big pool. Where is the staff, who should be monitoring this behaviour.

Cosy hotel.

Our stay at the Ibis was fantastic. Good location, good staff the pool was a good size, plenty of umbrellas and sun beds. Quiet resort with enough restaurants nearby and the beach was only about 7 mins.

We stayed here 15 nights, room is small but everything else is good. The pool is a nice size and no shortage of sun beds or umbrellas. The staff are really friendly, we had a lot of laughs,nothing to much trouble, you only have to ask.

It’s a hotel value for money. The room size is small with everything you need. The breakfast exceeded my expectation given the room price was very economical. Free parking available. You can get to Kata beach on foot within 12 minutes.

My 6 year old daughter and i had a wonderful stay here. The staff were so helpful, friendly and polite and could not do enough to make our stay perfect. The pool was fantastic- very quiet and clean. The food was lovely. Location too was brilliant- very close to restaurants and a shop, laundry facilities next door and a very short walk to the beautiful beach. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only thing I would suggest to improve the amenities is that we only had a small wardrobe so there wasn’t much room to put away our clothes. We had a fabulous stay here - thank you for a great holiday.

Small room, small toilet/bathroom, amenities very very basic - 3-1 shampoo/body wash, hand wash, shower cap, that’s it. Pool okay. Breakfast buffet is very very limited, see pic only get to eat fried rice, There’s shuttle to the beach on timings. About 5-10mins walk to the beach, passing road so not okay if got kids to carry or walk. Hotel and room are clean. Reception and dining staff okay but not very helpful, majority looks unhappy, expecting more since only a handful of guests, Low season. Experienced blackout in the area and hotel has generator only for basic lights, endured it for about 3hrs, no apologies.
Had to go out as it’s hot inside the room w/o ac. Nearby got restos, family mart, souvenir shops.
Also just outside hotel there is a good massage/spa. So many other hotel/accommodation options in the area, choose well. Maybe other Accor hotel.

It was a relaxing stay with the beach just 5-7 minutes walk away. The hotel was centrally based with lots of restaurant and shops around.

Good hotel for money they charge - nice breakfast - primarily this hotel has Russian guests staying as part of package holidays - we were the only English and only met 2 other non Russians during 4 night stay - not a mix of different nationalities here. We travel a lot and especially in Asia and really can’t remember anywhere where one countries travellers had such a monopoly as here. Kata and Karon beach really seems to cater for Russian package holiday market - all menus and many signs in Russian also. Nice pool. Blunt off attitude of Russians we encountered meant we may well avoid Phuket in future but would consider here again if ever stayed in this area - as the review is for the hotel itself. Karon beach is fantastic - mile long squeaky powder sand crashing waves - fab. Taxis ridiculous prices most expensive in Thailand 1000 Baht from airport - eat seafood at walking street as far better value than restaurants where people spending way over odds as status thing with seafood.

Nothing fancy but good value

Hotel was pretty good for what we paid. A lot of kids but that’s to be expected during Christmas break. Rooms were small but still comfortable. Bed was nice and soft. Right on the street with many shops and restaurants but a bit of a walk to the beach (about 15min). Breakfast was decent but ran out of a couple of things on both days.

I think this hotel is typical value for money hotel. It is clean provides essential service and located not far from the Kata beach. I think 5 min by walk.
If you need hotel near beach but do not want to pay expensive money this hotel is one for you.

Quiet hotel, close to the beach!

We stayed a week with breakfast included. The hotel is in good condition, breakfast is ok and many food choices. Room is small and only used for sleeping. 10 min. walking distance to Kata beach, 30 min walking distance to Kata Noi and to Karon beach. Plenty restaurants around, street vendors, night market and street market within a 5 mi. walk. Nice swimming pool!

Close to a disaster..

1s of all, I booked a room with a view.. well let me tell you there is no view from the 2nd floor. So then the moved me to level 5. Let's say soon as I walked in I felt costraphobic, the bathroom and to small light with no natural lights. Hotel looks like it was built in the 70 or 80s, with definitely no refresh make over.. stains on all walls and floors. And the aircon system, while off made a noise of water running in the toilet..

Rubbish hotel. Bad Internet connection. Had to change rooms as the seemingly overbooked. Aircon not working correctly in 1 room, TV didn't work when I first went into room. Asked them to fix it, and when I went back 3 hours later still not working.

Room was small, though ours had a great view of the pool. Could not open suitcase without blocking a path. Not enough power sockets. Our air con didn't work, and although we informed reception after our first night, it was not acted upon until I enquired about it again in the evening after returning from a tour. It was too late for their technicians to do anything by then so we spent a second night without aircon, which is not ideal in this climate! Finally fixed on the third evening. Staff at the hotel kindly offered us a late checkout for our two nights of no air con.

Location is good; short walk from kata beach and nightlife so you won't be far from food!

Disappointing.

Disappointing, did not feel very welcomed by staff, if anything I felt we were an annoyance. The hotel did not seem to cater for all nationalities. Basic services like bell boy or room service was lacking and I do not feel the staff were trained with customer service in mind!! Very disappointing to say the least. We will not be returning to this hotel and I would be reluctant to use an IBIS elsewhere in the world.

Lovely pool and hotel

Loved our stay at the Ibis in Kata beach! Pool area is clean and lovely, it's shaded in the afternoon giving a nice break from the sun and heat of Thailand. Lobby is beautiful and a great place to lounge around with friends.The rooms are a bit small, but why spend a lot of time in the hotel rooms? Beds were very comfortable! Staff speaks great English and are very accommodating. They have a tour booking service which gave us fair prices without the hassle of bargaining. They also rent moto's right there. This is a great value for money hotel and we will stay here the next time we go to the Phuket area.

This was my second stay here in the space of a few weeks.
The contrast was massive, if you want a decent enough room and nothing else then this is fine.
Unfortunately during our stay there was a considerable issue with rats. Including a lot of young, which were seen eating an unfortunate child's vomit which took over 25 mins to clear! Disgusting.
They did get exterminators in and that improved matters a lot. But still this is reactive and not proactive.
Breakfast isn't good - avoid, we did.
And the staff this time had a bit of an attitude tbh. No welcome drink, no porter, little things.

I thought this was an excellent hotel. Staff all very happy to girls and full of smiles - amazed considering the rudeness of some of the other guests.
The pool is wonderful, and although a fair way from the beech the area was nice as well.
Bus to phuket town and back ran from right outside the hotel.
Bed comfy, roof a tad small, wifi good and worked well mainly.
Didn't eat more than a spag Bol in the hotel so can't comment really on the food.

Great Location for short getaway

I choose this hotel because this is part of Accor hotel. I consider the safety and accessibility to the main road since I'm travelling alone. Restaurants and bargain shops are nearby. If you are staying in this area, most of the tours will have a free pickup and dropoff. Staff is very helpful. This hotel does not provide the standard toiletries like toothbrush, shampoo, soap, lotion, cotton buds, etc, so you need to bring your own. They have a good signal of wifi and varied selection of channels in TV. Their bed, pillows and blanket are comfortable as well. Had a great stay and definitely will return if I intend to stay in Kata area again.

Best Hotel I've Stayed at in Thailand

I am a young undergrad student who is studying/traveling around South East Asia. With that being said, I am very budget conscious and have a \"backpacker\" like mentality. I chose Ibis as a vacation spot as my mother was coming to visit from abroad. We were completely satisfied with everything from the first impression (service, room condition, common areas, restaurant ect.) The location is perfect, as its a 5-10 minute walk from Kata Beach, and this its located right on the main road. This is by far the nicest hotel that I have stayed at in Asia for the price.

I had the worst experience at this hotel. Where do I start from having to take my own bag to my room, the room smelt like mold. They cleaned the room briefly but never the bathroom. The pillow was awful. I would never recommend this hotel if that's what you call it. I have no photos of this as I was very disappointed. The staff did not speak English very well and did not follow up my compliant about the room. The bed was uncomfortable and was broken. I give this a 0/10 as my asthma was affected from this room. They had no taxi service no help with getting to the airport.

Some problem with my check in and waited for half an hour, the hotel told me that they can't find my booking as I book thru expedia.
No early check in given and have to check in at 2 pm.
Room is ok.
But the hotel taxi counter price is expensive and with poor attitude. I have book the taxi on internet with much lower price.

Relaxed hotel with a great location and pool!!

Very pleasant hotel in a great location by Kata Beach. Double Rooms are very well layed out and although not massive have plenty of room for a couple. Pool is excellent and has a nice family vibe and relaxing feel to it. Kata beach is a short walk (10 mins) and is very nice! Restaurants are close by and have taxi service which would recommend patong for an evening as is worth a visit. Would recommend highly!

Ibis Kata in Phuket

I think the best assets of this hotel are their staff members. I have been treated well by them - very accommodating to requests and always with a smile.

The room was so-so though. A good bed with a nice balcony over looking the main road was available. Two bottles of drinking water was provided in the refrigerator with tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, hair dryer etc.

The only grouse I have was the funny smelling water running from the tap and shower head! Smelt very very fishy!

I stayed in the hotel for two nights at a rather reasonable price. Would recommend it for a short stay.

I enjoyed the hotel but it is familiar holiday holiday hotel where the staff spoke little english. The majority of the guests appeared to be Russian and only mixed amongst themselves and were rather rude in the common parts. Also, they bought most of their food outside and to eat inside and the evening buffet wich was reasonably priced went unused although it was good value. As always the Thai staff were cheerful and helpful.

Five minute walk to Kata Beach

Hard to find flaws with this hotel. Room was bright, clean, simple, spacious. Terrace overlooking pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool large enough for lap swimming (although irregularly shaped) and very well maintained. Only complaint is that charge for in-room internet access is high (but free access in lobby mitigates this). Sidewalks in neighborhood are poorly maintained and there are lots of bars and massage places (but that's true all over Kata Beach and is not a feature of this hotel). To avoid this (if it bothers you) you would have to stay at a hotel on the beach. I had a great stay at a low price.

Struttura molto carina sulla passeggiata di Kata.
La Hall è molto bella, come anche la piscina.
Un po' più vecchiotta la stanza, sopratutto il bagno. Letti super comodi.
La pulizia delle stanze non è al top Come anche quelle dei corridoi / ascensore.
Colazione continentale, con scarsa scelta di prodotti dolci.
Servizio navetta comodo ma solo per chi decide di stare nella prima parte della spiaggia di Kata, se vuoi spostarti nella zona dove sono presenti bar e ristoranti sei costretto a camminare sotto il sole e con il caldo afoso per circa 15 minuti.
Comodo il desk per l'affitto della macchina / scooter che aveva prezzi convenienti e molto rapido nella consegna del mezzo.
Comodissimo il centro massaggi, il change e il servizio lavanderia proprio a 2 passi dall'albergo.
Nel complesso è stato un buon soggiorno.
Torneremmo volentieri.

Hotel mit Überholungsbedarf

Eins vorweg: Der Service des Hotels war top. Der lose sitzende Wasserhahn im Bad wurde direkt nach Reklamation repariert, so auch der defekte Kühlschrank. Schade das solche Dinge nicht im Vorfeld behoben werden. Die Mitarbeiter sind aber überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Leider wurde die Toilette am Pool von den Hinterlassenschaften betrunkener Hotelgäste nicht gereinigt.

Leider zum Nachteil die Gegend, die von einer Bevölkerungsgruppe belagert ist. Rücksicht auf andere Gäste gibt es keine. Nächtliche, lautstarke Streitereien waren fast täglich zu hören. Benehmen gibt es auch keine, überall wird sich vorgedrängelt, warten scheint ein Fremdwort zu sein. Aus diesem Grund wird diese Region am Kata Beach in Zukunft gemieden.

Bonjour, ayant passé trois semaines à l'hôtel ibis kata j'ai été plus déçus, petits petits-déjeuners ??? toujours la même chose ou presque aucune variété le sois disant chaud étaient toujours froids plus que monotone pendant mon séjour l'établissement était en rénovation, désagréable odeurs de peintures, tiner et autres et je ne parle même pas de la propreté, inexistante, bref hôtel à bannir comment se fait- il que vous proposez un tel établissement ,bien à vous

Det var en ganske din oplevelse at bo 10 dage på Ibis. Lokation var helt perfekt, fine værelser og gode handle muligheder samt tæt på stranden. Det eneste minus var at morgenmaden var lidt kedelig.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à l'hotel Ibis. Certes le prix est un peu cher par rapport à la concurrence mais au moins pas de mauvaise surprise.
Literie de qualité. Chambre propre. Ménage réalisé au quotidien. Piscine très agréable. Petit dej de qualité.

Petit déjeuner varié.
Non loin de la plage, l'hôtel propose même des navettes pour s'y rendre et revenir.
Seul point négatif peut-être le prix un peu cher.

Hotel in un contesto tranquillo e silenzioso,la struttura è carina e curata nella lobby , la stanza carina ma un po’ piccola specialmente se si viaggia con un bimbo piccolo per cui avendo richiesto la culla in stanza nel nostro caso non avevamo molto spazio per i bagagli ed il passeggino. Altri due aspetti negativi della stanza sono stati la presenza di sole due prese elettriche in una sola parte del letto ed in bagno una a bassa tensione adatta al solo uso della macchinetta da barba, l’altro intoppo è stata la pressione dell’acqua della doccia davvero troppo bassa,nel complesso siamo stati bene, la colazione buona e abbondante e personale gentile e disponibile

Blev besviken. Lite slitet hotell.
Väldigt lyhört. Man hör allt som sker i korridoren utanför rummet. Tex Städarnas vagnar låter oerhört mycket. Småbarn som springer.
Frukosten var medelmåttig. Saknade omelett. Endast 2 olika frukter serverades. Kaffet var inte drickbart.
Annars fanns det vanliga.
Poolområdet var trevligt. Personal lika så.

部屋が、かび臭い。
冷蔵庫にガラスに入ったの水のボトルが2本入っていた。冷蔵庫を開けたとき、ボトル同士があたり一本割れてしまった。
30Bの請求をされ支払いはしたが、ガラス瓶自体に問題がある。（ペットボトルにしたほうが良いのでは）

必要最低限の物だけを揃えて、宿泊価格を抑えている。部屋の中には、水・お茶・珈琲・バスタオル・バスマット・ドライヤー・シャワーキャップ・ハンガー・ケトル・冷蔵庫・金庫がありました。
歯ブラシなどのアメニティーは一切ないので、徒歩1分にファミリーマートで買いそろえる必要があります。
長期滞在の方にはとてもオススメです。
またフロントスタッフもとても愛想がよく気持ちの良いcheckinができました。
※エクスペディアには記載されていないことがありました。
checkin時に、デポジットとして2,500THB支払う必要があります。
checkout時に返金されますが、2,500THB返されても使いきれないと思うので、クレジットカードで払うことをオススメします。(返金までに約2週間ほど必要です。)
その他傘などの備品を借りる時は2,500THBのデポジットとは別にデポジットを支払う必要があります。

設備はマーマーだったが、レセプションの対応が良かった。ランチをレストランで食べたがこれが固いサーロイン肉で食べれた物ではなかった。250バーツもしたが冷凍肉のせいか生焼けで腹を壊してしまった。非常に残念だった。
