Property needs renovation. Rust at balcony that not good for baby’s. Hard to get to pool with babyroller,

Hotel is great placed during sunami. But crazy to get there normal walking. The hill is not normal climbing if your not a sportsman.

Staff are lovely. If you don’t want to be around kids avoid. Pool area is quite small and not a lot of beds. Location up a HUGE hill. Food is amazing. Rooms are basic and not much privacy when using the bathroom from your partner. Very odd.

The hotel feels quite dated, and unfortunately the photos look much better than the reality. The swimming pool did not seem clean enough and there was a noticeable chlorine smell.

The Gymboree is only available once a day, and any additional time requires an extra fee. At one point during our stay, we couldn’t find clean towels anywhere in the hotel. We were also told that takeaway coffee cups aren’t available every day when we asked for coffee to go.

Another thing to be aware of is the hotel’s location on a very steep hill. We didn’t mind the walk, but it can be quite challenging when staying with children.

My family and I just spent four incredible nights at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort and Spa, and I cannot recommend it enough. We were traveling with our two children (ages 6 and 8), and the experience was fantastic from start to finish.
We stayed in Room 501 on the 5th floor, which had a beautiful view overlooking the beach. Our arrival was made special by May, who escorted us to our room and ensured we were completely comfortable from the moment we checked in. Since we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, the staff went above and beyond by decorating our room to mark the occasion—a thoughtful touch that made our stay so special.
For families, this resort is a gem. We made great use of both kids' areas; they were fantastic for keeping our children entertained and gave us parents some much-needed relaxation time. The breakfast spread was excellent throughout our stay, and we also had the opportunity to book a private Thai cooking class, which was a really enjoyable experience for the whole family.
The amenities made everything convenient. We loved the shuttle service to Kata Beach—they provided beach towels and flip-flops, so we didn't have to worry about packing extra gear. The outdoor showers by the pool were also a great feature for cleaning up after a beach day.
What truly set this stay apart was the service. The team was amazing with our kids and took great care of us. A huge thank you to May, Tina, Luna, and Apple for making our stay super comfortable.

Nice pool, complete with swim up bar. A separate kids pool with slide, and water park.
Room was comfortable, with nice size balcony looking out over the pool area, with the ocean in the distance.
Close enough to two different beaches and town, for walking.

The rooms were spacious, clean and cool. Only slight issue was the beds were a bit firm. The staff were absolutely amazing! Nadear and Jayden on the front desk were absolutely fantastic, helpful, friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was really good. Apple and the other restaurant and bar staff were so so good, amazing with the kids and really made the stay pleasurable. We will be back

We had food poisoning after eating dinner at the En Vogue restaurant. We had massaman curry for dinner on 14th Nov’25 at the restaurant and fell sick. We filled out an allegation form that was handed over by the restaurant to complete and submit. We submitted the form at the hotel reception but haven’t heard back anything since. Otherwise, we had a good experience overall. Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel for its delightful staff, comfortable rooms, outstanding, relaxing landscape, great pool, and OUTSTANDING FOOD! This was our 11 breakfast buffet on a six-country trip and chef Naveen’s food was a standout and one of the best we had on our journey. The hotel is situated just a short walk from beautiful Kata beach or you can catch the hotel shuttle to make the short trip. I liked the location for being close to the shops but not being quiet and calm.

Food was okay, rain comes into the hallways outside our door and stayed wet every time it rained. They need to block the openings by the room so no one slips and falls. They did block the rainfall by the elevators in another area. It’s an open concept so it needs slip and fall protection. Everything else was good. Beautiful hotel, I would stay again. Deepest Pool is 3 to 4 feet.

Great location, pool and dining area. Good sized room and bathrooms. Garden view rooms have small balcony’s not quite big enough for the furniture in them. The lifts were being renovated which meant using two lifts and some stairs. Not great if you have a stroller or mobility issues. Our garden view room wa of a pile of construction waste… I request and room changed and was moved to a more pleasant outlook. Otherwise great value for a nice property.

This hotels is good for those staying in Kata area. The beach is nice and clean and it’s within reasonable walking distance but the hotel does provide free shuttle to the beach and night market. It would be nice if the shuttle comes every 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Guests are on vacation and who has time to wait. They only have one shuttle. It’s not like the drive is busy all the time.
Breakfast is good and passed the test. Good value for the stay. Parking is limited. Would we be back again ? Only if they provide free shuttle every 15 minutes during peak hours.

We had a wonderful stay at Kata Avista Resort and Spa in Phuket. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The facilities were excellent, with the pool area being a particular highlight – relaxing, well-kept, and perfect for both adults and children.

Our daughter absolutely loved the kids club, which was run so professionally by the caring staff. She spent most of her time there and had such a great experience, giving us peace of mind knowing she was in good hands.

The food at the resort was outstanding, with the breakfast buffet offering an amazing variety and quality. We also have to mention the cocktails – honestly the best we’ve ever had!

Overall, our stay was everything we hoped for and more. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend Kata Avista Resort and Spa to anyone visiting Phuket.

Stayed here for 4 nights with two teens two adults. Rooms are spacious. Staff are friendly and super helpful. Breakfast is good. Pool is big and beach is walkable or can hop on the hotel van service that runs every 30 mins. Laundry service, convenient store, night market, restaurants is down the hill. We would stay here again. Both swimming pools are great fun for the kids.
One hour free kids indoor playground a day was a great thing to have.
Breakfast was very good. Options changed slightly each day.
Staff were helpful.

Tour desk was a lot more expensive than shops outside. Id recommend going down the bottom of the hill. There is a small tour shop just at the bottom there which sorted us out really good prices and was very helpful.

Only con is the hill to get back to the hotel but there is a shuttle bus every 30 mins if you time it right.

Beach and restuarants and bars are all easily walkable from hotel.

The Novotel is a fantastic property. Wonderful staff, awesome pools…my kids loved the vr room, pool and fuse ball tables and trying the in pool submersible. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It’s very close to the night markets for dinner and the beach. There’s a shuttle bus every 30 minutes but the hill although steep is manageable. Kids loved feeding the koi fish and everything was just easy. We got the extra day bed and the room easily accommodated 3 of us comfortably. We stayed here after our resort stay to use as a home base while we were out adventuring all day. Incredible value, great location and amazing staff.

The hotel is under construction, this was not mentioned on the website, it is located up the hill, our room was on the top floor, we had to take 85 stairs to get to the room. We had to take taxi to get to the top of the hill to get to the hotel if we went out for sightseeing or back from the beach. If it was mentioned that the hotel doesn’t have elevator, I would not reserve this hotel. Also to mention that the neighbourhood hotel is also under construction, we heard the noise at midnight, we brought it up to the manager we were told it’s coming from the other hotel. We also found lizard on the table in the room. Long story short, if we ever decide to travel back to Phuket, I would not book this hotel.

Hotel is great, Nice Location near Kata Beach, I booked a family Room.
Had booked with Half board and enjoyed the breakfast and Lunches and Dinners. Food was good, Service at restaurant was great. Amenities like Pool table, Futsal games, will kill time and my Children enjoyed the stay thoroughly throughout the 4 nights and 5 days stay at the hotel.

Housekeeping was not up to the mark and had to remind them of the few items, which they have taken the feedback and helped with service next day. But for such a renowned hotel, the service should be proactively done. Water bottles were requested. Hotel Room was not given on time and the hotel team compensated it with a late checkout on demand.

Overall stay was good. But hope the team takes the feedback on checkin process and housekeeping and become much more better.

The kids have a check in desk (fun for toddlers) and they’re entertained by a koi pond in the lobby. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

Great sea view room was spotless and comfortable. Wonderful, consistently professional staff at every level. Alon gave great help from the front desk, and Din was the best waiter you could ask for.

My wife has Celiac, and we enjoyed the \"half board\" plan. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant for 8 days, and she didn't get glutened even once! A great plan for people who need to eat gluten free. The chefs were extremely helpful, and all the wait staff were knowledgeable.

Yes, it's a small climb back up to the hotel, but their shuttle to the beach every half hour helps a lot.

Can't wait to stay here again the next time we visit Phuket!

Everything about this property was amazing, including the staff. The service was straight from the heart. From the moment we checked in, Yok was very informative of all the benefits and facilities we could use. She also gave us an early check in which saved the day ❤️ When we got into the room, there was the Happy Birthday set up on the bed which really made my husband very happy as he was not expecting it, I requested for it but didn’t think it would be ready especially for the time as it was far from check in time. All the staff were amazing! During the duration of our stay and check out, Tubtab was very nice and professional giving us ideas on where we can go next. He also solved every mishap. Lai and Pom from the Zing Pool Bar has already recognized my daughter and helper within a short period of time! They were very friendly and I had a great time chatting with them. This trip has been so amazing that my daughter can’t wait to be back.

The property is set up nicely for families. The Family Rooms are cute and engaging for kids, there are two kids' clubs, and there's a separate kids' pool and splash pad.

The staff are fantastic, and the location is convenient for shopping and the beaches.

Unfortunately, the property needs a refresh. The buildings are tired and have worn poorly. The rooms have hollow-core doors with no insulation or weatherstripping. You'll have perpetual moisture and ambient noise in your room. The splash pad must be resurfaced as it's buckling, cracked, and generally dangerous for young kids. The WIFI was atrocious - incapable of handling any videoconferencing (so don't plan to do any work while you're there).

This property has a lot of potential, but doesn't live up to the Novotel brand name.

The family room is just a large standard sized hotel rm. My room had a mildew smell my entire stay and the blankets felt damp from the moisture in the room. There was a consistent sewerage smell coming from the toilet. We asked for washed cloths 5 times in our 3 day stay and kept receiving hand towels. I wouldn't stay here again nor recommend it.

The shuttle service to Kata beach was nice since the hotel is on a steep hill. The deluxe room with sea view was spacious with plenty of closet space. We were on the fourth floor and the trees obscured some of the sea view.The staff service was excellent. The restaurant menu was good and the buffet breakfast was great. I didn't know all the pools would be over run with children although it's a family oriented hotel. We had a difficult time securing two seats by the upper pool mid-day.

Amazing experience at Novotel Kata Avista. We were staying in a family room as travelled with our 2 children. The room was great with wonderful little gestures for the children. The hotel catters very well for the little ones - the kids club, rooms, breakfast, small swimming pool etc. The only drawback would be that the hotel is situated on a steep hill but this didn't bother us and even the children managed to go up and downhill twice a day. The hotel offered free shuttle to the beach but honestly, it is so close that it is not worth using it.
There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby.

•Hotellet ligger på en kulle med en mycket brant uppförsbacke.
•Under de fyra dagar vi bodde på hotellet fungerade inte hissen, vilket innebar att vi fick gå fem trappor efter den branta uppförsbacken.
•Receptionen vid incheckning verkade mycket rörig och saknade tydligt management, vilket gav ett oseriöst intryck.
•Restaurangens och barens priser var oskäligt höga, betydligt dyrare än de andra närliggande restaurangerna.

Perfect hotel in Kata Beach

Great stay, we loved it so much that we extended our stay for an extra 10 nights on top of the original 9. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great facilities for kids. Really great massages at the spa. It’s postioned on top of a steep hill but they have a shuttle. Lovely pool too. I would stay there again. Bar drinks can be very expensive, good happy hour at the pool but outside of this it’s very expensive. Also did not like being charged for the individual activities at the Kids Club. Virtual Reality/charity shop should be repurposed as Muay Thai boxing/gym extension.

The staff are friendly and the food is decent. However, overall the hotel is not 5 stars. The TV is old and has a very poor choice of channels. The room also was inconvenient to arrive to with two separate lifts (one of which wasn’t working). There is also a large hill to climb if walking back to the hotel. Overall decent but not great.

For anyone with mobility issues, this could be a problem. They did provide a shuttle down to the beach, which ran every 30 minutes

Very nice hotel and the best staff

Lovely hotel and the best and most helpful and welcoming staff. Cozy and quiet place even though it’s very close where everything happens. Great activities for kids too. Only minus is that there’s a lot of Russians. That’s up to you to decide wether that’s a minus.

Would definitely come back.

While the hill to and from the hotel is quite steep, it is walkable. Great proximity to Kata Beach, a free shuttle option as well. Incredible staff, attentive and courteous. A few minutes walk to the main dining & nightlife streets, and to the Kata night market as well.

Overall, we would recommend this property and stay again!

We had a great time, the staff were friendly, the facilities were great and the breakfast buffet every morning had plenty of options.

If you want to do all inclusive you would never have to leave the resort.

Our three year old was in the pool everyday, the beach is just down the steep hill. (Prefered Karon than Kata personally. Food options and night market dish three hill have cheaper food if you want to explore like us.

Request the more updated rooms if possible, a few things wrong or not working in our first room but they were happy to move us.

We have two six month old girls so couldn't take advantage of the resort as much as we'd like. Kids five years old and up would be better.
