Air conditioning didnt work but it may be because of the time of year I went. Staff were nice. Room was clean but I paid for a double bed and got 2 singles pushed together which you cant sleep in the middle of because they come apart, so I basically had a single bed. The hotel is noisy so didnt sleep well and the breakfast was rubbish.

Hotel was very convenient for public transport. Lovely staff. Breakfast was a nice variety and spread. Room had a bit of ware and tear, the bathroom door though was broken and the lock didnt work. In fairness we didnt address it while we stayed but hopefully that was the only room with that issue. Not soundproof the walls but cant do much about that. Otherwise was a nice stay in Milan.

This hotel was just okay. The location was good. The room and bathroom were reasonably clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we've ever slept on. The hooks on the wall and on the door in the bathroom don't hold anything; everything you put to hang on them just falls right off. Also, there were scuff marks all over the walls in the room.

Friendly hotel in Milan's Niguarda

The hotel has some of the friendliest workers. When I checked in, the front desk staff took my luggage to my room in the upstairs annex, even though it didn't have an elevator. They had a minibar close to the front desk, and were very keen to sell me the sparkling water \"frissante\".

Breakfast was in a room in the main building. It had a good selection of items.

Hotel reception allowed us free parking due to having a disabled badge which was brilliant.
Showers do not drain, ended up with a flood. Breakfast was good.
Good transport links into the city.
Hotel is in 3 blocks, only block a has a lift.
Good little area with a football table.
Room was ok but not overly clean. Air con was working unlike many reviews I’ve read. Basic rooms but ok for a night or 2 if out exploring during the day.

There is a nice cafe within walking distance. While the location did not have much else around, the tram stop across the street was convenient to access the rest of the city. While we enjoyed the convenience, we were disappointed that the air conditioning and hot water did not work properly. Compared to other hotels around northern Italy, it was a bit outdated (elevators, bathrooms, etc.). Parking was a hassle to figure out and cost €20 each night.

No working Air Conditioner

The air conditioner was not working. We told them after checking in and they said they’ll get someone to fix it the next day instead of offering a room with working AC. My son and husband could not sleep in the heat so they slept in the lobby. The next day after returning from a day of sightseeing, it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit and the AC was still not working. We suffered another night in the heat and couldn’t sleep. Again, my husband and son went to the lobby to sleep but it was uncomfortable with mosquitos. The only positive thing about the hotel was the breakfast. They have remodeling construction next to our room so during the day, it was a lot of loud banging. The hotel is also 30 minute bus ride from City Central so not very close to anything. When I discovered how far they were from City Central, the hotel booking was non-refundable so I was stuck with it and really regret booking this location. I would give it 1 star only for the breakfast.

Room very spartan but very clean and brightly coloured. No pictures on walls. No front on wardrobe. No English channel at all on TV, one French programme we could watch. Central fluorescent light in bedroom - strange in a bedroom. Bed very hard and uncomfortable.
Breakfast ok, 2 cereal choices, yoghurt, fruit but tinned fruit cocktail, not fresh. Brioche type croissants which weren't very nice. This was 5 or 6 euros extra. Good transport to Milan city centre by no 4 tram - 1/2 hour's journey each way. Trams quite cheap. Some restaurants around in the area, one we tried was ok, the other was not very good. I don't agree with the person who said it was in a not very good area, it's quite close to the university and was not run down, quite safe to be in at night.
I would stay nearer the centre another time and pay a bit more money. This hotel is not expensive as hotels go but it does seem a bit like a hostel in that the walls are not well soundproofed, although this did not bother us much as it was November and not so busy.

This hotel was actually better than I expected. I knew I would have a small room (I didn't mind, because I was in Milan for a trade show and would stay in the hotel only for a good sleep and rest), but it was very clean and quite comfortable. In many similar cases the bathroom is the main victim of the room size, but here it was quite spacious and high quality. Wifi was also very good - strong signal and sufficient speed. The location is not too central, but still you are at Milano Centrale in 20-25 minutes. A tram stop is less than 150 m from the hotel, and tram No 4 brings you just meters from line 3 of the metro, which serves the main train station and the city center.

Although there isn't really much to the area itself, but the hotel was surprisingly nice. The rooms were very clean and the beds also extremely comfortable! There is a particular member of staff (Khalid) who is literally a Godsend, he was so amazing, helping us with everything we required. He was very lovely, and willing to answer any questions who had, especially about getting around Milan. Although the hotel is nice and clean, I wouldn't stay here again, just because there isn't much to do or even eat in the area.

Visited Milan with friends and found Hotel Ornato good value. It's on the outskirts of the city, only a 20 minute tram ride to the city centre which wasn't a problem. Lots of local bars and restaurants as the hotel doesn't have a one. Rooms minimalist, the only slight negative was lacknod standard European plug sockets in some rooms. Breakfast range a little limited. Would happily stay here again.

hotel is good location for public transport. 100 meters from tram stop which takes you straight to metro to get to central Milan.
disappointing was that even though the hotel advertises a lift, it is only in the main building and I was given a room on the second floor of the outer building. downstairs was reserved for staff so if you have heavy luggage you have to drag it up the stairs. my room also was next to the building that obviously housed a commercial cleaning service and at 7.30 there would be loud noises of people talking and banging of crates and trolley's being loaded / unloaded.
While the staff were responsive, it was not with a smile on the face and maybe somewhat begrudging.
While again breakfast was as much as you could eat, the offer was all cold and no meats or cheeses.

Great no frills and clean hotel. It is a bit out of the city but it is right by the street car stop that can get you practically anywhere in Milan. The only thing is that we didnt feel all too safe arriving at night and getting to the neighborhood.

We stayed only for one night and were pleased with our stay. The hotel is a little out of the city center, but it is not far to find. With a 24 hour public transportation pass that only costs 4.50 euros, you will be able to get to and from the hotel on a budget. The staff were not friendly, wouldn't say they were rude either, but just not friendly. If you go to the shops on the street be careful of the produce store up the street, we were ripped off for some clementines that we bought!

Nice hotel. So and so for tourism in Milan.

We had a bit of a rough time, arriving at the hotel from Malpensa airport. Arrival details were not displayed in the hotel website. In hindsight we should've called and asked for directions. The commute times to and from Malpensa are 90 minutes or more if nothing goes wrong.
The hotel fares are good, and the rooms are more than sufficient. There are bar's, caffe's and a supermarket all in close proximity to the hotel. There is a tram number 4 stop right next to the hotel, which connectes you via other means to mostly everywhere you need to go.
That being said, while public transportation in Milan is extensive it is rather slow. The average commute time from the hotel to the center and mostly everywhere a tourist would want to go to is 30-40 minutes. When we left for Malpensa there was a hitch with tram number 4 and the commute time to Malpensa was more than two hours, a fact that lead to considerable stress.
The lobby is manned by hotel personel 24 hours a day, and the staff is generally pleasent and courteous.
The rooms are sufficient with a few reservations. Heating didn't work in our room which was really a problem only getting out of bed in the morning (october is slightly chilly in Milan). The air was extremely dry. If you are like my gal and I, and this affects you, you should prepare.
Another slight annoyance, the Wi-Fi is slow.

Good value for the money

The hotel is in Niguarda, a district to the north of Milan. Though it's not in the center of all the action, there is a cable-car stop right outside the hotel door. For 1.5 Euros, we traveled all over the City and found everything we wanted to see. The bus to the Central Station for ItaliaRail was a short walk down the street that got us to the train station in about 20 minutes, Very convenient and much less expensive than taxis. The hotel was staffed with helpful people on the front desk, the room was clean, internet worked in the room, and the breakfast was pretty good. I would recommend this property to my friends.

The Hotel was better than we hoped. ( My mother and myself thought the location was very good).
The Hotel reception staff were very helpful, and friendly. The hotel was very clean - fresh flowers in the reception area, nice marble floors and staircase. There is a lift , hot/cold drinks vending machines, computer, t.v just passed the reception..

We stayed for 6 nights. The twin room was heated well with a small t.v. The room was cleaned everyday. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because there was a bakery across the road (where ever I go in the world I take my own kettle because I can't take the risk of not having a morning cup of tea! sad but true)

For more than €50 per night for a single business traveller this was not a good experience. I arrived late at night, no parking available (I had to park across the road which is free but not monitored) no food available and area did not seem suitable for going out looking for food alone. Long drab corridor to my room was full of Italian students who frankly made me feel very unwelcome. They were noisy both at night and in the morning. The room, although drab, was ok and clean, with free wifi internet (unlike the hotel I stayed at the next night which was double the price).

The hotel is nice, basically next to the tram stop. It is far from the city, about 30-40 minutes by tram, which is direct. The metro might be faster, if you get on it after a couple of stops from the tram, but it might be confusing if you don't know Milan. The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast was included and it was good, basic but good. Stay there if you want yo save money, and don't mind being half an hour away from downtown. Good place.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Hotel Ornato for 3 nights. While the hotel was clean and (some) of the staff were very helpful, the biggest problems we had were the location of the hotel, which requires a 15 minute tram ride and a further 10 mins on the subway to reach the city centre of Milan. The other problem we had was noise from other rooms, as the bedroom floors were tiles, all noise from the guest next door was perfectly audible. Furthermore, the walls seemed to be paper thin, which didnt help when the guests next door decided to have a very loud conversation at 4am.

The thinnest walls ever. could actually hear the woman in the next room pressing the buttons on her phone. Had to leave the air conditioning on to drown out the sound of people snoring and talking throughout the hotel. Every footstep on the floor above sounded like somebody walking in my room. And no sound proofing from the tram line or the bar below. total waste of money. Guy at reception was nice, room was clean and cleaned during my stay. Breakfast was dried foods, mediocre.

Quarto limpo e sempre organizado com troca de toalhas diárias. A equipe é simpática. Quanto as comodidades o que pode melhorar, ter um frigobar no quarto. A janela de nosso quarto era de frente para um estacionamento, o que tornava o quarto devassado. Para tomar o café da manhã atravessamos uma área externa, o que no frio é incômodo.

Chegamos no hotel depois de 14 horas de viagem,cansados,um calor em Milão.
E o que mais queriamos era uma cama,banho e um ar condicionado que funcionasse.
Ar condicionado que nao saia o ar direito e um barulho dos ....
Trocaram o quarto no outro dia, mais eu paguei para chegar e poder encontrar o quarto sem nenhum problema,ficamos com barulho do ar na cabeça o restante do dia e noite,e mal saia ar.
Fiquei Decepcionada
Jotel fora de mão,chegamos na centrale de Milão e pegamos dois metro para chegar no hotel.
Bem fora de mão do centro.
Ja sabia que nao era perto,mais é mais longe do que anunciado

Séjour très bien dans l'ensemble

Séjour très correct , personnel rencontré très compétent.Prix du parking TRÈS EXORBITANT pour un B&B dommage T.mal insonorisé.

Unico neo non sono pulite le camere,vasca con doccia non sicura ,mancano tappetini antiscivolo,e poco pulito il bagno,lo staff eccellente,certo non é una struttura nuova,ma un po' di manutenzione nei bagni ci vorrebbe.
