The stay was cozy and the property is situated right on the beach with the breeze calming you all the time around. We rented the studio apartment and the bed was super comfy. The room was clean and well equipped ...enough to cater you for a week. The bathroom had hot water available all the year around. The only issue was the toilet flush , but it was manageable. We flushed twice. There were beach and normal towels provided and information was available to get around Barbados . The best thing was the host.. we had a late evening flight back to London and the host allowed us to stay for a late checkout without any qualms of charges. We requested and he absolutely made sure it happened. The stay has the attached resort bar with happy hours, amazing drinks and good music over the weekend. The fish cutter and the mahi mahi grill were delicious! Thanks a lot for all the effort and hosting this amazing stay. It's pristine, secluded and absolutely what a beach vacation means .

Room had great view of the water and was near the pool. Room set up was well done with tons of space and a very good bed. the only drawback, if one cares , was the bathroom was in the bedroom separated by shower curtains. If that does' matter than it was a great place to stay

The initial room we were put in was not up to standard and the bedroom had open vents which felt like we were listening to the forest frogs have a rock concert! How ever the manager listened to our concerns and moved us to a better apartment! They made our experience a priority and the staff were always lovely, espectially in the surf bay bar! Would recommend to anyone looking for something alternative to a big resort.

There is no secured or reserved area for customers to park. On Sundays there’s a Hugh party at the hotel and there’s o where for guests to park. There’s no paved walkway to access the rooms. Guest have to walk through sometimes overgrown grass.

What a fantastic find

Located near Rescue Beach cool place with friendly staff good communication WhatsApp number on Surfers Bay web site. All rooms face south cleverly staggering and balconies make it open but privacy protected 😊
Essential self catering except evenings, so provisioning and transportation recommended
Would I book again….yes
Peace and Quiet by day but be prepared to enjoy excellent live performances especially Sunday evenings, Saturday and Wednesday
All the staff engaged from house keeping, garden, bar, to Will the on-site Manager family run business 🇬🇧
Google maps easy to search for walkable local businesses
Go to enjoy a special place with without any hustle and bustle, I read, swam, relaxed and chilled out on my timetable 🙏

Exactly as advertised. Close to surf lessons (walking distance!). Rent a car and stage your Barbados vacation here if you want to wake up to quiet surf and wnd your day with a dip in their private pool.

Surfer's Bay is a hidden gem. My husband and I visited Barbados for a wedding and this privately owned, quaint resort was pefect. The room was what I expected and the location was absolute amazing. The views, the relaxing vibes and the easy to go service was all that we needed. We will be back but would definitely recommend to family and friends!

Attention to detail and gracious service are clearly core tenets of this establishment. Gorgeous property full of simple elegance, not fancy yet both laid back and immaculately maintained.

Host Will went above and beyond and was always close at hand to answer any questions and provide service. In the evenings the Gastropub opened with bartender Rico doing an amazing job making us feel welcome.

Took at dip in the ocean every morning although beach was too rough for a full swim. Food was stellar, ate dinner here most nights overlooking the sea with a cool breeze and crashing waves adding to the relaxed ambiance.Saturday and Sunday nights had bands ripping and a great crowd coming in, both tourists and bajan alike with the cover waived as a guest.

Off the beaten path location yet Took the ZD to central oistins in about a 15 min trip.

Sick spot, hidden gem, Couldn’t ask for more

Amazing stay overall. Modern room was very nicely furnished including a net over a comfortable bed, room included kitchen utensils, microwave, kettle etc. Very efficient AC.
Lovely pool area with plenty of loungers, chairs and benches near the pool and beachfront. Great spot for sunset and enjoyed some live music and drinks one evening.

Quiet and secluded, beautiful beach totally accessible. One disadvantage though is there are no places to eat out nearby during the day time. So you need to make arrangements for Breakfast and lunch ahead of time, or make sure you have a car.
The place is absolutely beautiful. Will and his father were perfect hosts. The restaurant is lively in the evening

Fantastic Find

I had a 3 night layover in Barbados as flight crew and stayed at Surfers Bay resort. It was a fantastic find, such a peaceful and beautiful place to relax for a few days. With great walks either direction along the coast you'll find surfing, kite boarding and quite beaches nearby. The hotel restaurant food was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel manager, Will, was especially welcoming and obliging. I had a very pleasant stay and would certainly return the next time I'm in Barbados. Thank you Will and all the staff at Surfers Bay Resort.

The hotel has recently had a complete makeover. The renovated spaces are very good, tasteful and comfortable. It's set in a wild and peaceful place.

Moonraker… is also known as Surfers Bay is exactly what we were looking for…rustic with every room unique with a fully equipped kitchen, great food for dinners (except Monday night), weekend entertainment, great staff and a pool that is well kept and great for exercise…easy access to taxis and a walk to the bus. We are definitely going back. Lots of vision with their management and new renovations and painting.

Toilet seat was damaged. No cutlery, safe did not work, towel rail in bathroom was damaged and in pieces. The apartment looked nothing like the ones advertised by Expedia. The beech was completely covered in seaweed and nothing like the photograph. Drinks were being served at the bar without measurements, so most were short measure. Will not be returning.

A Gem on the South Coast.

The MoonRaker was originally chosen because it was close to the airport for an early morning flight. We learned it was so much better than just proximity to the airport. It was a cool community along the beautiful southern coast. We say sea turtles, kite surfers, and walked in the setting of the hotel and surf shack (but it's more than a surf shack. We had New Year's Eve dinner there and the mahi-mahi was terrific). The room was huge. I needed a two bedroom since my mother was travelling with my daugh ter, wife and me. If I could make one little suggestion it would be for a couple of more pillows on each bed. Entire staff was really friendly and nice. I wish I woudl have stayed for a few more days, hanging by the beach, surf bar, and nice evening bonfire.

Groovy, chilled, relaxed surfer bar and hotel near Silver Sands beach/ Surfers Bay. Very minimal in amenities, but comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Beautiful view of the ocean but rocky/ no entry. Small clean pool, bonfire outside at night, winding path along beach. Our room had 2 clean beds, 4 towels, bar of soap, toilet paper, kitchenette with pots, dinnerware, stove, and fridge. No microwave. A small a/c and fan cooled room down but urged to turn off when not in room to conserve electricity. Would definitely stay there again. This hotel has more of a communal hostel feel rather than private hotel. Families hanging out in common areas with kids on tire swings, balancing on the slack line, or swimming. Breakfast at the bar overlooking the ocean=amazing.

We enjoyed the privacy of our accommodation away from loads of crowds with a view to die for wake up to a clear view of the surf coming in on the door step ,a car is necessary if you want to see the best of the island ,we ended up walking to a very safe for non swimmer cove on Miami Beach was 30 minutes we needed the exercise. The negative side is the kitchen is very bare of a few basic things no bowls for a cereal
Had to ask for a spoon as only one no matches to light cooker no tin opener no bottle opener and ect the list is to long to mention , big plus on campus bar with meals .Steve the owner is great

I’m 58 years old and I travel with my family all over the world. I had never ever had the worst hotel like this.
I’m not sure were to start it. This hotel have no manager , no cleaning employees, no service at all.
When we went to check in there was as no body to ask for or room, no lobby or office at all,
We had to to asked the bartender for information, then the bartender went to the parking lot and found a person sleeping in the car and he took us to the room. That so dirty we could not look at it. We asked him that room so dirty how can we stay at room like this? He said I will give you another room but you have leave that after 2 days later because my friend is coming to stay,
Now we got different room worst then first one.
It second room our bathroom toilet was broken . The toilet water was all over the floor. We had to use the bar bathroom in the middle of the night ,
The next day we found that person and we told him that our bathroom is broken and we walk all the way to bar and use bathroom. He came and check it and said I will try to fix it, nothing happened, he didn’t fix it,
Nobody came to our room to change the bed or towels or anything,
There was no toilet tissue in the bathroom at all.
We could not use the hotel towels because it had blood stains on it, after these problems we could not sleep all night because they have lizards running on the wall .
I will not recommend this place at all , please don’t waste your money, this place is simply trash.

Very nice secluded spot on surfers bay, ideal for surfers. The hosts were very delightful and helpful, stayed in the cottage down to the back which was very nice with a small deck to sit and relax. The owners definitely have to replace those blinds as the bedroom blinds are totally see through and everyone outside could see in. There was also no blind or curtain in the front door, In sure some of the guests saw me and my husband naked at some point in time. It's not close to any restaurants, malls, shops, grocery etc but the owners assist by taking the guests out to oistins and the grocery. Overall we made the best of it.

Perfect island hideaway

We booked this place last minute on a whim and it is such a hidden gem! Right on the ocean with gentle waves and sandy beach to swim at. Also a nice deep pool on the property. We got the small cottage and it was adorable and had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Arlene and the team made us feel welcome and gave us a fun and memorable last night to our vacation in Aruba. They also have the surf bar on site with affordable and delicious food, we had dinner, drinks and breakfast. Two thumbs up for the playlist too! Awesome island vibes for a getaway.

Since its advertise as hotel we did not know its a self catering apartment. And with this it comes with minimal amenities. So as long as you know its a self catering apartment its fine and you will be better prepared.We wanted to be near the airport so the location was fine. Its located on the beach and its nice and quiet.

This property should not be listed. It’s a manmade and makeshift hotel that resembles someone’s backyard. I was not asked for ID or anything. There is no security. After 9pm or so, the owners/workers are no where to be found. It’s at the end of the island where many taxis will not drive to after it gets dark. The room was gross. I didn’t even stay one night after finding bugs and ants in the bed. My husband was actually bitten by bugs after laying down so we called for hours until one taxi said they would pick us up. We ended up paying extra to stay at the Raddison hotel. Well worth every penny we were charged. MoonRaker is the bottom of the barrel.

Our flight from Miami got us into Barbados at 10:30pm. We were fortunate to get a taxi driver who knew where this place was. Left the airport around 11:10pm. Scary drive at night! Got to the hotel at exactly 11:38pm. Lights were out and no one was there. We found a little A-frame chalk board with a note written on it, \"Late guests room 7.\" We were a party of four with two rooms reserved. Room 7 had a double bed in it. Unbelievable! Our taxi driver called the contact number we had for the place. It went to voice mail and the mailbox was full. Unbelievable! If it wasn't for the taxi driver who took us to another place, we would have been stranded. Unbelievable!!

We had booked 2 rooms and arrived at the property at 11:35pm. The confirmation letter said that reception would be open until 12 midnight. When we arrived, reception was close and there was a whiteboard with a sign that said room 7 was open and to go there. First of all we had booked 2 rooms and 2nd of all Room 7 only had a double bed. We want our money back!!

We arrived late afternoon on a Friday afternoon & someone was there to greet us & take us to our room. We were coming off a week sailing in the Grenadines & we had a some foodstuffs with us, & it was great that we had a fridge & a coffeemaker in the room. This turned out to be a very good thing b/c breakfast is not offered at the restaurant (nor was lunch on the day we checked out)-and there's nothing w/in walking distance. We had dinner at the Surfer's Bar restaurant, & the fresh mahi mahi was amazing. One complaint I'd have also is that the hotel advertises free wifi. There was wifi at the restaurant/bar, but it did not extend to the rooms. So we did not have free wifi for most of our stay.
Checkout the next morning was the tricky thing. As I mentioned, there's nothing around within walking distance & the hotel is not on or near a main road. The reception office was not open on the day we left (a Saturday, & nor was the restaurant as I mentioned previously), so we were initially at a loss how to get a taxi back to the airport. There were yellow pages in the room with a thousand options for taxis, but we still felt a little uneasy we might not make it to the airport on time. Luckily the people in the room next to us had a card from someone they'd used, & we made it to the airport no problem. Still, it made us feel a little uneasy that no one was around at all from reception. It's a nice, quiet place, but just be prepared with food & taxi options. And wifi at the bar only.

Very chilled and right on the coast with a number of nice beaches within 10 minutes drive. Staff very friendly and relaxed and bar / restaurant does good food and great happy hour. Definitely go to Oistins fish fry, Miami beach and Ritas chicken.

Didnt take pics of tooms but they have all the essentials for self catering but are basic. It's not for a luxury stay and the furnishings are pretty old but if you want a lovely relaxing atmosphere a good location and an apartment style accomodation it fits the bill.

Will start by saying that all the employees and the owner are wonderful people. That said, the property was very unkempt. Equipment/amenities varied wildly between rooms (2 cheese graters in one room, a corkscrew in another, no can openers, 3 coffee filters for 7 days' stay...). My friends' room had a broken toilet, shower, and air conditioner and no way to open windows for a cross-breeze. Lawn isn't mowed, there's a burn pile by the path to the bar, and a junk pile behind the one odd, stand-alone rental. The dogs are super sweet, but barked all night long for most of the nights we stayed.

The rustic feel of Moonraker made it the perfect Caribbean hideaway. From the moment, you walked in it was as if the descendants of Robinson Cruso himself were there to greet you. The food was excellent and the rum punch . . . Well it had a punch. If you're not too high maintenance and want a taste of Island life without the pretentious elements of a commercial resort I strongly recommend Moonraker.
