A lovely small hotel, located at the end of the gap. There is beach access from the hotel. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is good. Happy hour 12 to 1pm and 5pm to 6pm each day.
Accomodation is split into 3 buildings but dont feel isolated.

The staff were great! It’s a very relaxed vibe and great location. The room we had was a nice size and clean. They charge a fee to use the safe which was a bit strange but other than that everything was as expected and we had a wonderful stay.

Room was clean and comfortable, had AC, hot water , TV . Staff was 50/50 some were friendly and helpful. Others were quite short and rude. The things i disliked the most were the walls were very thin . You can hear everyone else around you at all hours. Also, The outside environment is also quite loud especially from sun up to down. Between traffic, staff working, people sitting pool side, ect. After noting all this I would still consider staying again.

This 3-star hotel is a favourite of ours for the price. The location in St. Lawrence Gap is close to many restaurants. It fronts on a rocky beach, but right beside the sandy Dover Beach. Rooms vary in quality and age, but are clean and the WiFi is good. The on-site outdoor restaurant serves good good and drinks. They now have two buildings and two pools to choose from.

This is a no frills hotel in a great location. My only complaint is that my room was not ready at 4 pm when we arrived. We sat in the hot lobby with all our stuff until 4:40 pm. For me, room not ready at checkin time is unacceptable.

The staff were very professional and helpful, especially the front desk and the Sea Grape restaurant. The pool and grounds were well kept.
The room was cheerfully decorated but very tired, especially the kitchenette and the bathroom. The housekeeping staff did a good job on the regular daily cleaning, however the high touch surfaces (door handle areas and cupboards were in need of attention).
Overall it was fine for the price point.

Place is an old school hotel which had some minor upgrades.
The tv had no sound on all channels but BBC. Maintenance guy #1 could not fix it, #2 fed us some bs about the signal, #3 actually fixed it by unplugging the box and plugging back in, which i had to do constantly.
The shower had a little better than lukewarm water. No face cloths in the room.
The restaurant had fairly good food if you had an eternity to wait for it. One lunch took an hour, one day breakfast was the same.
Staff was friendly as lumps of coal.
In order to use the stove which was gas, you have to light it with a match! They give you some short little strike on the box matches, half of which didn't work.
Grounds were o.k.
In short, looked nothing like what was portrayed in the pictures on the Travelocity website.
I would avoid this place.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was super helpful and friendly. There was only 2 things that could be better. The shower head for one creates puddles of water due to the shower glass not being wide enough and the shower head not having space to be moved. Second thing, there is started molded on the ceiling.

Dover Beach Hotel has a great beach, 2 pools on the porperty and lots of good restaurants nearby. All the staff were very good and in particular the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. While the hotel is dated the room was clean and had a very comfortable extra large King size bed. Great to have the kitchenette which allowed us to have breakfast in the room in the morning as well as any extra leftovers from large restaurant meals. Overall this was good value for a great location.

The pool and beach are very nice, direct access to the beach. The on-site restaurant has nice views had breakfast and that was good.The rooms are worn but clean and OK. The lobby the roof fan didn’t work, the TV didn’t work, laundry was available, but the washing machine didn’t work.

I had a pool view, the air conditioner was good just to close to the bed. The staff was nice and very helpful, rooms could definitely use some TLC. The whole property could actually use some TLC. It rained really hard causing a leak over my bed all night, they moved us immediately in the a.m. the restaurant on the property had good food, limited but tasty. Overall i might stay here again

Clean and modern cheerful room in Calais building was exceptional, beautiful seaviews. Solid wooden furniture (painted white), tasteful Carribean-themed paintings in room and hotel corridors. Room just very well \"thought-through\" and fully equipped kitchen very handy. Bathroom on the smaller side but again very well thought-through and enough space to put down things. Reception staff was very friendly and expertly advised when we had questions. Very well maintained grounds as well with the pool, and restaurant/bar by the sea. (2nd pool by the Flowers building) Minimart and ATM 3 mins walk away, as well as many nice restaurants and bars. When we had questions before arrival we emailed the hotel and they promply responded.
We had a fabulous time, thank you Dover Beach Hotel.

A Clean room was the most important to me.
The water was too rough next to the hotel for most to be swimmable(for many). Also, one would have to drag their own chair down and up the narrow stairs to relax on the beach.
The location was good. Everything was walkable. Multiple beaches, the St. Lawrence Gap strip, the bus. Once construction next door ends hopefully there will be more light on the short street the hotel sits at the end of.
I enjoyed my 13 day stay. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.

Second time staying at this hotel, it was worth repeating!
We have had a wonderful stay at Dover Beach Hotel.
The hotel is right on the beach and has a friendly authentic feel to it.
In a great position looking out to sea yet close to the bus stop to get around the island.
Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful.
Fabulous place to watch the sunrise and sunset.

The room was dated but clean. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

The only issue was with an unnecessary very slow check-in. We had to wait twice, for the process to be completed. First, the receptionist decided to check in other guests before giving the hotel welcome speech. ??? So we had to wait for 15m for that. After she gave the welcome run down of the hotel facilities and hours, etc, we had to wait another 10m for her to see if our room was ready. While she was ‘checking on that’ - she had processed another group of guests. 25 minutes later we were given the keys to our room which had been waiting for us on her desk the entire time. She was very nice, but the whole process was ridiculous. I have never experienced this type of piece by piece check in before.

Far from main road. 4 days in we needed a shuttle van and were never told what it was for. This could have been used to help with getting to the main road to take other transport. Taxi's are many times more than main road transit. Also a good distance from all the main action of the Gap. Staff good... assisted when asked. Dining OK... Pool area OK. Many broken pool chairs. ZERO entertainment unless you call a manager's meeting at mid day when most go out. Was out so no idea how that was but told steel pan music. Other than that - no other entertainment in pm. Charged for calls and for room safe also. Other hotel we stayed at for SAME PRICE had all that included.

The positive: super friendly staff. The pool in the pink building is nice, clean and new feeling! The staff are very accommodating, the building from the outside is been maintained decently. There are nice areas outside to hang out and pretty birds flying around....It's a nice quiet side of the gap location wise!

The negative: the over all cleanliness needs to be better. There was dirty cupboards with finger print marks, the doors had a layer of dirt along the frame where people touch often, the cupboards have a layer of dirt/dust along the edges, the lamp shades were dusty, the room info sheet was sticky and had food stuck to it, the walls had finger marks...... this was not the cleaners fault but more the over all expectation around what a clean room should be like. The rooms aren't cheap and over all I expected better quality for what I was spending but we had a decent stay.

This property offers rooms with kitchen facilities there are grocery stores close by as well, making it easy to select items for breakfast or whatever. Room was spotless, house keeping every day ! The beach is right there and it’s not crowded and there are loungers. The pools and garden area is lovely this property offers very good value for your vacation dollars. We will be back!!!

Good location with plenty of choices to eat and drink within walking distance. Supermarket nearby.
Rooms are a generous size, a little dated but clean and bed is comfortable. Excellent air conditioning.
Lovely pool area with enough sun loungers when I was there. Direct access to beach.
Bar and restaurant located by the pool, food reasonable and not overpriced.
Staff were friendly, some smiled more than others but not rude.
Certainly a reasonable place to enjoy Barbados from.

The main building was ocean front but the other two were not. Expected a kitchenette but got only a fridge and microwave and kettle. Two cups and saucers but no plates or cutlery. These were supplied on request. Building is old and rooms badly set out. Lots of wasted space. Nothing happening in the evenings bar/restaurant closed about 8! Breakfast was ok but didn’t eat in the restaurant. Lots of places to eat nearby.

The Hotel should update all photos to reflect the true appearance of the hotel. The staff are wonderful but the facilities are not up to par. If you are the type that can \"rough it out\" then go right ahead. If you are unable to be at peace if your environment is untidy, then this is not the place for you. I actually ended up staying elsewhere for the entire trip and checked out of the hotel officially just before my flight. The location is great and again, i emphasize wonderful staff. Serious upgrades needed to modernize, more attention needed in cleaning the bathroom, and replace all fittings that are peeling, rusting, or stained.

The room was quite inviting and clean. Staff were helpful especially the receptionist when checking in. Even though we arrived early than checkin time she was able to accommodate us. Very pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable, warm, and professional individual. In the room there was no complimentary coffee or tea but microwave and kettle. Would have been nice to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on arrival especially for guests arriving late and tired. Place is clean and gardeners friendly. On our first morning our server at breakfast was warm and friendly and interactive but the 2nd morning breakfast server would not look at you as you speak or smile. She needs to make eye contact when taking orders or responding to enquires. We had the opportunity to converse with Marcia, hotel manager which was a delight. She is friendly and warm and approachable. The cleaning lady said very friendly and our room was spotless. What I love most about this place is they always tried their best to make sure your stay is pleasant. Overall, the location is perfect...close to the beach, walking distance to restaurants and bar. I would definitely stay here again. I love sitting on the patio overlooking the waters watching the breathtaking sunrise and sunset while listening to the sound of waves crashing.

We stayed at Dover beach 35 years ago, so the facilities and building had obviously changed. There was two new buildings and the original one. My comments are based on the original building, so this just needs abit of an update. Would definitely stay again, really enjoyed our break.

The attitude of the staff at the restaurant was absolutely disgusting.
Because family and friends felt so upset about the way we were treated by the staff, it ruined part of our vacation. The food as well was really horrible.
There was one front desk staff that was really wonderful when we checked in but on the second day the front desk attendant attitude was absolutely horrible. We will never be staying here again.

Although we arrived late, everything was ready at the front desk, and we were warmly welcomed after hours by the night security.

Our stay was smooth and without any issues. The staff were courteous, respectful, and always friendly. The manager even checked in on us personally, which made us feel really valued.

We were traveling with a physically challenged adult and had no trouble getting around with a wheelchair, even though some minor renovations were taking place.

All in all, a very comfortable and welcoming family stay. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

The safe was very friendly. I only went to the restaurant twice but the food really good especially their popular fish cakes. It's close to the parties and a the beaxhes plus it was a good location to the Cropover festivities. My only complaint was my room. Toilet, tap and shower needed fixing. I actually had to access the toilet tank to flush it. The a shower left water all over the floor. I had requested it to be fixed but it never happened.

The hotel is a 2 stars hotel in American standards. Room, bathroom and shower are very outdated. Our AC leaked all night and didn’t cool the room sufficiently. The hotel’s location is good as it is by restaurants and bars and served our purpose of spending the night and checking into Sandals the next morning.
