The room was a bit small and cramped. The walls need some cleaning; there were stains on the wall in several places. The bed and the tv, however, were pretty comfy and nice.
When checking in, we were not informed about the option of free coffee and tea but we were definitely offered the expensive breakfast.
The area is great but it seems there is a school near by so there were lots of young people. You can hear the noise outside from the window.
Good customer service goes a long way; it would have made a great difference.

Excellent service…. Breakfast is continental, but nice choice.. everyone was helpful and courteous.

A good choice of bistros and restaurants of many choices right within 5 minutes.. local, not touristy. Vavin metro, 5 minutes away, and was excellent to get to St Germain, Odeon and le Marais. No shopping near by, and rooms are typical for Paris. We upgraded and just loved the ambiance and architecture.

If first time in Paris, and you want to walk to Champ d’Elysees , or anywhere on right bank, not the location for you…. We loved it. Ubers, metro and bus depending on destination.

Highly recommend.

Clean, friendly, comfortable hotel with spacious \"junior suite\" (including two bathroom sinks and a separate shower and bathtub/shower). Pretty and stylish decor with plenty of natural light and French windows that open--with heavy, velvet blackout drapes. Very convenient location to metro and RER station, numerous restaurants, groceries, Luxembourg Garden and Montparnasse. Free espresso all day in the breakfast room and mini-fridge in room. Would be nice for the superior rooms and suites to have their own Nespresso machine.

Solid hotel in a great neighbourhood. We had an interior facing room which was very quiet. Free coffee and tea and a water machine to fill your water bottle. Older hotel, the bathroom door wouldn't close in our room unless we slammed it hard, not a big deal aside from our neighbours who probably didn't enjoy the slamming!

We had the 4-bed room for our family of 4 and it was great. For a small boutique hotel it was great to have a workout room (small but useful) and even a little game room where we played pool. 2 sinks and 2 showers in the bathroom made it easy to accommodate 4. Desk staff was very helpful. Great location- close walk to st. Germaine Des Pres and Luxembourg Gardens.

It was a very good experience staying at Hotel Le Royal. Very conveniently located close to many important attractions such as the Louvre and Eiffel Tower and close to plenty of restaurants. Room is clean. A/C in good condition. A very good bathroom. Room is quite small but was large enough to sleep comfortably.
Probably a little overpriced but again considering it is the summer in the heart of Paris, it is justifiable.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful.
Overall we are very happy with the hotel and the stay of 4 nights.

The property is walkable from the rail station as we planned. Our room was kindly upgraded so it was bigger than anticipated but still not huge. The room was lovely and clean with comfy pillows and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were very helpful and recommended Le Bistrot Des Campagnes for dinner which was really good. Breakfast in the hotel was adequate.
The area around the hotel has lots of restaurants and the Jardin du Luxembourg is close by. Although the hotel is on quite a busy road we were not disturbed by it.

Lovely and very comfortable hotel within walking distance of St Germaine des Pres and Montparnasse. Reception was super friendly and helpful. Room 11 had sweet little hallway before entering the room and it was a surprisingly cozy feature, felt as if you were entering your own little apartment. Highly recommend!

Well located hotel and renovated overall, but our room was badly cleaned - the shower was full of hair when we arrived and we found someone else’s old, mouldy and melted ice-creams in the fridge… not very nice!

The property is quaint and clean. The elevator is tiny, but it is an older building. Staff is friendly and very hospitable. We had 3 in our room with 5 suitcases. We all fit no problem. One bed was a single pullout. Comfortable, and when folded up it certainly was enough room. Independent European hotel’s rooms tend to be on the smaller side, but this was surprisingly large in comparison. Bathroom was very spacious and had 2 sinks.
Lots of cafes and bistros nearby. Eiffel Tower is about a 2 mile walk through some great areas. We loved the fresh air walk after a 12 hour plane ride! Definitely would recommend.

This hotel enjoys a great location. It is located very close to a Metro station and many bistros and bars, yet very quiet and safe neighbourhood. My room was clean and the beds very comfortable with soft pillows and cosy duvets. Our thanks to all the staff for their hospitality and hard work! A well-located, pristine boutique hotel with friendly efficient staff. I stayed with my family (one teenager and one 21 year old) in a room with four twin beds, yet we still had space to move around. The bathroom, with two showers and double sinks, made our stay that much more comfortable. Everything was spotless and apparently recently renovated. No complaints here!!

We were very happy and satisfied with our recent stay at Hotel Le Royal. The rooms were quite spacious and well appointed. It was spotless and the maid service was excellent. We did not avail of the breakfast in the hotel as it didn’t seem worth the price. Thankfully there is a wonderful patisserie boulangerie right across the street, and their offerings were delicious and fresh, for much less. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful hotel at a great location. We will definitely be back!

Hotel le Royal rive gauche - good location – have stayed many times 2012-20 – now post covid some change - though no change in the new very friendly and helpful reception – and a heavenly mattress - refurbished without the taste of before - the double room we booked really only work for a single occupant - one desk one chair - master light switch on man side - one inadequate hook for both bath towels - in the bathroom soap but no conditioner - breakfast extra and surprisingly expensive

I didn't get the lady's name, but the front desk lady who checked us in (Sep 16 around 11am), and out (Sept 20 aroimund 10:30am), was excellent, very friendly and professional. She was the perfect front person for the hotel (any hotel).

We had the family room with 4 twin beds, which was exactly what I was looking for, for 4 adults (2 of us cousin moms and 1 adult kid each). There wasn't much room for luggage but we managed just fine. The bathroom had a shower/tub, in addition to a separate shower stall, a separate toilet stall and 2 sinks.

The location was great between 2 metro stops and walking distance to Gare de Montparnasse and another metro stop for a different line. The Metro M4 line goes directly from just outside Gare du Nord to the Vavin stop which is 3 mins walk to the hotel. A friend who lives outside of Paris drove in to meet us and there was an Indigo Parking garage about a block from the hotel. Per my friend, access to the hotel by driving was very easy.

There were plenty of good restaurants and creperies within walking distance as well as a Franprix, a bank and a pharmacy within 1 or 2 blocks of the hotel. We didn't get the breakfast offered at the hotel so I can't review that, but coffee and tea was available all day, at anytime. There was at least a couple of boulangeries/pâtisseries 2-3 mins walk from the hotel.

All in all, a perfect hotel for a family trip to Paris.

My sister recommended me this small hotel. This property has everything you need for a very affordable price. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious (considering that rooms are usually very small in Paris). The A/C worked great (something that we appreciated during the heat wave of the past days). Breakfast was very good and the staff was always willing to help: they printed our tickets and boarding documents and kept our suitcases hours after the check out, thus we could enjoy more of the city the day of our departure. Do not expect luxury or a lot of amenities but this hotel has what you need.

Only thing that could have been improved was really small elevator, the shower had no door(at least in our room(standard double room), so when you shower water would splash outside the shower into the floor.

Included breakfast compromised of white breads, baguette,crossoint,boiled/scrambled eggs, slices of salami, turkey,ham, yogurt, 3 types of cereal, coffee machine w/ hot chocolate and fruit salad.

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Le Royal for 2 nights in December 2018. The hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the location is convenient to restaurants and the metro. Leticia, at the front desk, could not have been more helpful!! She gave us recommendations for restaurants, directions for sightseeing, and answered all of our other questions during our stay. The breakfast was very good! I would definitely stay here again!

Location was excellent for me, just one block from the the Subway. It was far from the main attractions, which was perfect for me because I wanted to be away from the noise and new year turmoil. It took me around 20 min in subway to get to the main attractions which is not bad. Also there are a lot of restaurants and bakeries around the Hotel, that was great because we arrive late the first day and we didn't want to take the subway. We also had an early New Year dinner in one of those restaurants without reservation before heading to Montmartre for New Year celebration.
It was a large room considering Europe standards, the breakfast was OK and the staff was very professional and helpful.

Great hotel in local area of Paris!

This is my second time staying in Le Royal and I really like it. The location is fantastic, not in a touristy part of Paris and a lot more chilled but still close to attractions (and well connected by the metro and buses). My room had a great view of the Main Street and typical parisien buildings, the decor has recently been updated and is a lot more light and airy. The safe was pretty big so I could store my laptop in there which was great. The shower was nice and had good pressure. I didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment but it seems to be a traditional continental breakfast. I love that free coffee is provided in the lobby!

Only thing that was a bit annoying was that the door to rooms are quite loud when they close so can be quite noisy when other guests are leaving their rooms. There is also only one lift which is quite small so a bit inconvenient if it’s a busy time for guests going to their rooms.
