Burnt out bedside light. Also the outside front door light was out off order leaving the 2nd floor landing and the steep stairs dark.
Hot water was non existent, barely warm.
TV was large but has a useless service with only days old news programs, old junk reruns and nothing was live broadcast.
Plus point was that this old hotel(The Cedar) rooms are remodeled nicely, outside was still ancient.

The tv box didn’t work. When I called the concierge she gave me attitude and said there is no maintenance guy and tough luck. The air conditioner was in the bedroom but pugged into the bathroom plug to run. But it goes through the bathroom door, so you can’t close the bathroom door. The room was dirty. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Be aware that you may book a “deluxe kitchenette with 2 Queen beds” and get a kitchenette that has one queen bed and a pullout sofa. This is what happened to us. When we reported that this is not what we booked, first we were told that we just didn’t find the second bedroom and sent back to the room. After showing them video evidence that there was no second bedroom, they were like, oh, this is one of those rooms with the pullout sofa. When we asked for another room, we were told that they are full. When prompted we were also told this happened before but this is Expedia’s doing, and they have no control over this. Hardly an acceptable answer. The AC switch was also hidden, near the floor. But at least the AC was working. Other than this, this would have been an acceptable place for a motel.

You check in at a beautiful hotel only to be sent to the end of the road to stay in a property they bought that was living quarters for staff. Rooms were not clean when we arrived and no cleaning or towel replacement or soap during our stay. The morning we were leaving the lady came in twice (no knocking) to clean the room while we were packing to leave (7:30 am). Even after asking her to give us 10 to 15 minutes to pack. Only stairs (very narrow) to reach second floor, no ramps. I would not stay at this place again

Cute but it's a No from us

We stopped here on a bike trip as we had never been through Radium. You have to check in at the Prestige down the road which was fine as there are no staff onsite.
The motel is old but cute and tucked away but close to ammenities. Our room (9) backed the patio with BBQs. The smell went right into our room and there was a very large family with 3 or more rooms constantly walking past the room to prepare for their BBQ which smelled like fish in our room. The AC needed to be plugged in from the closet into the bathroom outlet and housekeeping woke us up at 8 am. We also had a used towel behind our bathroom door from a previous guest. It was a miss for us and a disappointment considering the potential for what we enjoy. There are great views from the patio space but we didnt get to enjoy that either. We won't stay again.

We had to go to a different motel to check in. Upon arrival at our motel the door had to be slammed to close properly, the air conditioner was not functional, one of two lamps in room was not working, toilet seat was very loose and the room was very stale smelling and no windows to open for ventilation. We will not be staying there again - not recommending- would rather sleep in the car.

Properties on either side abandoned, no towel bars in bathroom, not counter space, no heat (I was told there was a heat button on the air conditioner, but it was wall mounted and no place to plug it in), quilt lumpy, bed uncomfortable. Amenities like pool at parent hotel across town. Not at all the accommodations I thought I had booked.

Being at the end of downtown off of the hi-way it was surprisingly quiet . There is no front desk here so you’d have to call the other hotel and they always answer phone calls or drive a few blocks . You get what you pay for and it was a good price and with a kitchenette it was decent .

pretty obviously this motel is merely a revenue property. No on site staff or front desk ( check in is at another hotel down the road). While the room was clean, there is very poor water pressure, there are definite electrical problems ( when the A/C kicked in, all the lights dimmed and flickered), the bed is OK, but not enough so to be called 'comfortable'. The room, again, is clean, but in need of updating, fixtures and finishes appear to be holdovers from the early 80's. It is in good repair, but the price is a bit of a stretch, IMO. It felt safe, and was fairly quiet. I would stay here again if I had to, but would prefer a newer property if available.

2 rooms and only one TV. Air conditioner struggled to cool both rooms. Shower that changed temperature when someone else either turned on water or flushed toilet in the building. Inadequate parking.

Along this for $200 per night is absolutely pitiful. Would never stay here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

What a great motel! The rooms actually have cedar walls, were clean, comfortable and I loved the little table and chairs and flowers outside the door of each room. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the hassle of going to a different hotel to checkin.

The reservation indicated, after booking, that we had to checkin at another hotel. I assumed this would be close to the vicinity where we would be staying, however, this was at least a 15 to 20 minute walk. On check in we were advised we could use the facilities in the checkin hotel, but this was not ideal if using pool/hot tub etc.
All in all, the place we stayed was clean, but feel that having an attendance on site, would help make occupants feel better for sure.

DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES or even anything not so valuable in the rooms when you stay here, same difference.. the cleaning staff will steal either. This is more geared towards the Cedars(which is owned by the prestige) but I definitely won’t be staying at either after this past experience, plus the owner won’t reply when you review anything on the Cedars.
I’ve been coming to The Colombia valley for 20 years and stayed at this sh*thole for the first time on my way out to Golden. Stay anywhere else but here. Trust me.
I was going to leave a good review if this didn’t happen.

Exceeded expectations! We stayed at the Cedar Motel for the Columbia Valley car show 2023. LOVED IT! Check in was easy at the Prestige Inn. Card key worked awesome (wave worked way better than inserting card at other hotels). Room was nicely updated & clean!! 2 queen beds (one in it's own bedroom) both very comfortable! Cute white kitchen with ceramic stove top, little fridge, own sink. Well stocked with dishes & cutlery. Excellent location for car show, no noise at night! Ample parking. Even though no staff on site, someone came by in the morning to replenish towels etc. Fantastic value for price! Will be back!!

The room was in great need of renovation. The tub looked dirty and we had to plug the air-conditioned in the bathroom.You can hear the people walking around on the balcony and whatever was going on in the next room.The bed was very comfortable and I liked the location. I probably wouldn't book at this motel again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Cedar Motel. You have to check in/out at the Prestige Hotel up the road and they are your “front desk” if you need anything during your stay. Room was clean, had fridge/microwave/coffee machine. Housekeeping daily, and you can use the amenities (gym, pool, restaurant) of the Prestige Hotel. Hot Springs close by, lots more food options at Invermere 15 mins away but some options in town too. 1.5 hrs drive to Banff and lots of hikes in Kootenay National park the whole way there.

Great little motel located on the main road and residential area. We stayed in a double queen with kitchenette. The motel is owned by Prestige hotels down the street. They have 24-hour check-in, which was great because we arrived late. The kitchenette was missing a few things, and the hotel attendant brought them to us even though it was very late. Walking distance to restaurants and there are also two restaurants on-site, which we didn't try. You can use the pool and hot tub at the Prestige hotel. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Very clean. Updated bathrooms. Rustic but nice. Maid service came to change our towels and replenish coffee when we were out. Great value. Would definitely stay there again. Quiet.

This motel was absolutely adorable. Very clean, comfortable beds, air conditioned. It's retro, and I am here for it.

Cheaper by about $100 than any other accommodations in the area.

There are no staff on site, but you check in at the Prestige hotel right down the street, and have access to all of their amenities including the pool and gym.

10/10 would stay again!

The room on this property was dirty,the lighting was almost none existent,some of the work being done on room was not finished and the area outside the room was filthy for the money this place was a ripoff.I would not recommend this place to anyone.If we would have had an alternate place to go to we would have gone.There were also spiders in the room not a pleasant experience and also the place smelled old and toxic.And last thing if you are old or handy capped this place has no elevator to second floor.
