The hotel stay was extremely disappointing. The rooms were dirty, the cleaning was terrible, and there was a strong, awful smell in the corridors. The manager even said they cook in the rooms, which is a fire hazard and a huge safety issue. Despite booking a non-smoking room, it smelled strongly of smoke. The entire property should be non-smoking, but even the rooms failed this standard. I would give zero stars if I could—completely unacceptable.

Convenient location just off the interstate. Nice room for the price. I got a cheap rate to just crash for the night. Didn't use much of the amenities, but looked to be adequate for wheelchair travelers by the looks of my room, ramps, etc. Denny's restaurant next door.

STAY ANYWHERE ELSE! Checked in at 7pm for a one night stay. First room I was given had not been cleaned yet, second room looked as if they started cleaning and then just quit on the job. Went to the manager stating I was going somewhere else. He tried to give me one more chance on a room stating someone went to the hospital and he was new, then as I was walking out he got his phone out to call someone for me to talk too. Craziest hotel situation I have ever experienced.

The building is spotless and smelled of cleaning products. Comfy beds. This was the perfect crash pad find when traveling through bad weather lead to an unplanned stop. Free breakfast was bagel/toast/cereal, and they had a little marketplace pantry where you could buy other things, but the breakfast offering was what you’d eat at home when you’re trying to get out the door, so it was sufficient to get the job done. I will definitely remember this spot for the next time I need a budget-friendly place to stay on this route.

The room and the bathroom were very clean and very well maintained. The staff was very helpful and very accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast could have been a little bit better, maybe throw in some yogurt or some fruit.Instead of just all starches. The air conditioning kept the room at a consistent temperature that we were comfortable with.

When I got there, despite the normal, 1 PM checkout time they tried to charge me $35 to get in the room before 3 o’clock. The room was already clean. They demanded a $50 cash deposit. When I left, they tried to tell me that I broke the television and refused to return the deposit. The entire property was in the middle of renovation and the television was not even attached. It was laying flat on the dresser. And when I demanded the return of the money, they threatened to call the police.

Terrible because the booking said go to the Wheeling Area Super 8 and we got charged a no show fee from St. CLAIRSVILLE and they would no refund it. Even though my friend went to the hotel in Wheeling like the email said it was a different Super 8 and neither of the Super 8s cared so we got charged for both hotels. Will never stay at a Super 8 again because of the horrible customer service and lack of care for their customers. 0 star review would be better.

The bed was too high to get in and out. The sheets only covered me to my waist. There were no cups in the room. I wish there was another chair besides the office chair. There was no clock. Lastly, there was no elevator.

But, the room was extremely clean and well kept up. We had a very nice television and the air-conditioner worked very well.

The people were very nice and informative to us. We enjoyed our stay minus the problems we had with the beds.

They didn't leave the light on for me

I opened the door to my room, flipped the switch, no lights. I was able to turn on the bathroom light to see in order to turn on the light on the desk. The switch was sticky. Someone had spilled something on the lamp, lampshade (!?!), and desk. Housekeeping did NOT clean it up. Nor turn on the light by the bed, which is also controlled by the switch right by the door. Curtains were drawn when I entered; even during the day, with the curtains closed and lights off, it is pretty dark in there--how could they fail to see the lamp situation? Another hotel chain used to advertise \"We'll leave the light on for you!\" NOT this hotel.

Room was dark even with the lights finally on. Only one of the lamps by bed had a light bulb, and it was a dim, low-wattage bulb.

It was not all bad. The sheets and towels were clean. The sink was clean, but it didn't look like the counter in the bathroom was wiped down at all. Also the bathroom mirror was filmy, as if wiped with a wet cloth, not cleaned with glass cleaner.

Breakfast was good; biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc. Would have been nice to have yogurt and fresh fruit available, but...

Yes, it's an older hotel, with that older hotel smell, especially in the hallways. But the furnishings are reasonably nice, as is the updated counter top. With more thorough cleaning and actually preparing the room for guests who make a reservation a week in advance, this hotel could probably be a decent, low-cost place to stay.

The price was good about this hotel and rooms were pretty clean . Bad …. They speak a foreign language and some hard to understand English . They charged us a security deposit of 50$ for the room that was never said. The sheets had stains on them . Overall wasn’t too happy had to leave a day early was still charged for 2nd day and they didn’t seem to friendly about giving security deposit back . Don’t recommend.

The place was clean, all things considered, and the staff was super friendly. The chief issue We had was the height of the beds from floor. It almost required a step ladder or leap to get up on to the bed. The pillows were not comfortable, and this made it hard to sleep. Otherwise, it was clean and very cozy. Being a non-smoker, it would be nice if guests were required to smoke away from the only entrance into the motel to access your room. The prive and room value was phenomenal.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but the TV was not working at all (did not even turn on). The furniture seemed to be bolted to the wall so I couldn't move things out to get to the outlet so was without TV. One of the beds smelled like smoke even though it was a no smoking room. A lot of sketchy people also staying at this place, blasting rap music and bass out in the parking lot. If you have the money, spend just a little more to stay at a better property.

Great price for this hotel! Staff was friendly with easy check in and check out. Breakfast was basic but still good from 6-9. Everything was unplugged when we got to our room but once plugged in eveybit one lamp worked. There was a different smell to the room but it could have been the cleaning products used. Overall pretty good stay for the weekend.

Nice location, easily accessible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Only complaint was the AC/heater was very dirty and kept shutting off. Switched rooms, but heat was inadequate. It was a wall unit and blew cold air and then cycled to warm. Had to turn it up in the 80's to keep the room warm. Probably need the units cleaned and serviced, other than that it was a comfortable stay. Probably would not return though.

Worst nights stay I've had at a hotel in 20 years. Tried to make me pay extra to check in early after agreeing to allow us and not mentioning a fee the day before. Room smelled, floor was damp, ceiling light didn't work, lamps flickered, beds noisy and uncomfortable, manager is a jerk. Just stay away unless every other place around is booked and you have nobody you can stay with in the area.

I stayed at this super 8 for 2 separate nights within weeks time. I was travelling with my family and found this place was safe and worth price. Staff is very nice and welcomed us. Their breakfast was included in price and was decent to start day. No lift/elevator is only con. Sams club/walmart and other stores/food restaurants are nearby. Will definitely recommend and stay here if I visit area in future.

I felt unsafe, the bathroom was dirty and the bedding was suspect. It had one of the floors where you don’t actually want to touch it with your feet. The 3rd floor smells like hot burned curry tires. It’s horrendous, I had to go out to my car for fresh air. My room was broken into during my stay and the front desk just said they would have the lock looked into the next morning by house keeping staff. I will never go back and you shouldn’t either.

Breakfast is included with a variety of options, cereal hot & cold / bagels - toast / biscuits and gravy. Coffee tea and juices.

Not the most luxurious Wyndham I've stayed at; but it was worth $60.00 for a comfortable bed and hot shower. The room smelled like sweaty socks and just \"felt\" old and dated. The biscuits were so hard you couldn't eat them; but bagels and coffee were sufficient for me. The Staff were very courteous and accommodating! And it was nice to be able to get a reasonable room at the last minute. There are plenty of places to shop and eat in the area, as the Ohio Valley Mall and Plaza are right there.
