Nice clean rooms and a beautiful setting. The way we were treated was disappointing. One Example - My family were asked to stand to the side after ordering In coffee shop while locals were served and their food prepared and then after sometime we were told our items were no longer available. Please treat everyone with respect.

One of the best resorts in the Northeast region pet-friendly with breathtaking views and plenty of activities for the whole family. Great for kids, with attractions like the zoo, kids’ park, indoor swimming pool, arcade games, and both indoor and outdoor dining options.

The Skyline Buffet is excellent, and the Lakeview Cantina is a must-visit with live music, outdoor seating, and cozy fireplaces overlooking the lake.

The rooms may have a traditional style, but they are clean, comfortable, and comparatively spacious. Most rooms also come with a deck offering beautiful mountain views.

Overall, it’s a perfect getaway destination for families with toddlers and pets.

I will start with the positive. We got massages and the spa was nice. The massages were good. The steakhouse was wonderful and the manager there, the waitress and the staff throughout Oglebay were really good.

Now for the not so good: We were there for our 40th anniversary, which they had in their system, but we were given a room in one of the lodge wings that only had a view of the wall belonging to the next building of rooms. Most of the rooms in our section had balconies you could go out on and had views. Not ours. Took some of the specialness of going there for our anniversary away and we spent alot there with the massages, the room, the steak house and drinks. You would think we would have been given a better view. The zoo was closed and there are no longer deer roaming about. We used to love watching them when we went for the holiday season. The gift shops had a lot less to offer and the one in the actual lodge has been condensed with a coffee shop and is way smaller than it used to be. I have been here during the holidays and would recommend going there at that time, not any other time. Unless you are a golfer. There is a crazy hilly golf course you might appreciate.

The property/park is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The Lodge is clean, but dated, low on in room amenities. But, the price was right and the food in the on property restaurants was very good, fresh, farm to table. Definitely worth a stopover. The views are breathtaking and the mansion museum was a treat.

Would be nice to have on site rentable transportation like a golf cart or something. Not really walkable for my 4 & 6 year old. That being said, plenty to do and keep them busy. Relatively clean. Did note a few ants in the room. Arcade and pool could have been cleaner, but ultimately my kids loved the trip and the stay.

I was told that all the amenities were up and functional before checking in, but when I arrived to Ogleby resorts, I was told the hot tub was working, and then when I got to the hot tub, it was not working and not functional cobwebs in the ceiling of the room no shampoo in the bathroom and the body wash was ripped off of the wall. We came to enjoy the pool during spring break with our two small kids and found so much more to explore! We live a little over an hour away in the downtown Pittsburgh area. Great food (we are at Trace and Skyline), friendly staff, great breakfast sandwich + good coffee at the coffee shop! We loved the zoo so much that we visited twice - we paid for the extra animal experience at the zoo the first day we went, hours were a little short so this took up most of our visit, but was worth EVERY penny for the kids!! We loved how extended the indoor pool hours were, esp cause that was the #1 request from the kids! Lots of beautiful outdoor space too!

We can’t wait to come back in full summer to enjoy the outdoor pool and for the Christmas lights!

Any staff we came in contact with was ao friendly and always willing to help. We had lunch at Skyline kitchen and Bar located on the resort, this place is beautiful our food was fantastic! Our waitress Debbie was so sweet and she made our dining experience incredible thank you. Our room was clean ,bed was very comfortable!! It was everything we needed for our getaway! We will definitely be returning!!

Navivating to the room was bad, everything is on different levels. You must do an inspecion and premapping before you visit, memorize carpet patterns to navigate...levels are labeled but do not help much as main rooms can can turn you around if you are not familiar.

Oglebay Resort is a lovely facility but their staffing and room cleaning procedures need major attention. Our room was not cleaned and available until 5:40 PM! This is not acceptable. Tracey, the front desk staff member was wonderful in working to solve the problem which was not of her making. She provided a free buffet breakfast coupon for the two of us, 2 gift packs with car passes for the Light Festival, an upgraded room and Christmas ornaments as well as a a complimentary night's stay in the future. I truly hope this problem will be permanently resolved for my next stay.

2.5 stars. Check in was a long wait and painful. Understaffed at the front desk and throughout the amenities. Poor signage throughout our visit. Rooms were great. Skyline was awesome.

Trace chophouse was very disappointing. Cold food and missed the detail i expected from a high end steakhouse. Don’t wast your time. Service was mid. Dinning area was dirty.

The Christmas experience was ok. The Santa village was lame except the hot chocolate. Pictures with Santa was worse time in traffic. Put a Santa in lodge. There is nothing exclusive except the candy cordial.

The classes were the worse. Kids horsing around in the pool during pool Pilates is lame. And you moved the tai chi off the property . Speaking of property, Cafe 1925 and Starbucks is off the property. Take it off the site! That’s a scam!

Soritas coffee was terrible! They ran out of food! And understaffed!

Festival of Lights , zoo , and spa were great.

Really overrated. Staff was not super friendly. Felt touristy.

Signage and directions to enter the Lodge area are poor, hard to see especially at night. The signs by the roads are not lite up enough at night. The Festival of Lights was so confusing because of poor signage and unable to see where you were driving because of poor lighting on the signs. The $30/car fee for the Lights is too expensive. The cost includes a season pass that we didn’t want because we live out of town. The fee could not be adjusted!

Check in was easy and staff very friendly. I would suggest maybe someone to be available to help guests get to the rooms. I was in lounge and many people walked in, turned around, came back, etc. Only being there a couple hours I ended up helping many people get to where they needed to be. Ashley and Allison from Skyline were incredibly nice and a joy to be around. One suggestion is to have Miller Light bottles available. Another suggestion would be to have more TVs available especially during the NFL season. While in Skyline we also received a complimentary desert delicacy dish from the staff which was very nice. Trolley driver was very informative and made our trip enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

The resort was beautiful, we especially loved the treatment we received from most of the staff especially the cleaning staff we had as well as the restaurant staff they were fantastic. The complaint I have is we had no ac in our room both nights of our stay- we had to extend our stay one more night and asked to have the ac fixed but nothing was ever done the room was extremely hot and the only time someone seemed interested was when we checked out the nice lady at checkout apologized and said she would have it looked at. Not going back!!!!

It was really hard u need a gps to get to your room it’s so big a the workers wasnt to helpful with helping us find it, another guy staying there had to help us. There was also a lot of the things to do there that were closed and this was mid summer when they shoulda been open.
Someone charged $100 breakfast on our room so when they went to their restaurant there they don’t make you give a name or show ID just the room number, that definitely needs to be changed. Wonder how many people that happens to an they don’t catch it like we did. When we called they did say they would refund it so waiting on that. It’s just so big an everything is spread out all over, you either have to drive or rent a golf cart or take their trolly (we drove) everything is extremely expensive so make sure you take enough money before going,
The morning we were leaving there was a housekeeped guy that was faded out (high as heck) all leaned up on his cleaning cart
