Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. I arrived at 2:35pm. There was a guy running the vacuum cleaner. He looked at me a couple of times an then he said that I was too early to check in and needed to wait, then he continued to sweep. Keep in mind there was no one at the hotel, the parking lot was empty, I know I was a little early but he could have checked me in. The room had a terrible smell. Bed was very uncomfortable. Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Stay away.

We arrived at this hotel around 9:00 PM, tired from our travels. The front desk staff member was rude and unprofessional. He asked me to write down all my credit card details, including the expiry date and three-digit security code, stating that his system was down and he could not process payments electronically.

I explained that I was not comfortable sharing such sensitive information in writing and suggested that he use the credit card details already provided to Expedia or that I could pay in cash the next day. He became visibly upset, tore up the registration papers, and told us there was no room available for us, asking us to leave the premises.

We were shocked by his behavior and had to call the police to report the situation. After explaining everything to the officers, we were forced to book another hotel at the last minute. By then, it was almost 11:30 PM.

It seems like the place needs to hire more people to help that guy who works there and seems exhausted and not in hurry to meet the clients.
People smoke either by the windows inside or right outside by the open windows and the smell of smoke are inside the whole and room. They need better monitoring of the place to enforce non smoking policy.
Other than that everything is alright, what you'd expect from the hotel.

The room was clean. The staff were always available and efficiently helpful and pleasant. Breakfast included the typical wafflemaker and breads as well as apples and peanut butter for us gluten free individuals. It was budget friendly so I did not expect a full hot breakfast buffet. even without that it was very good. It was quiet despite being in the middle of the city and there was a Wendys a subway and an Arbys very close (less than 5 minutes walk or drive). I would definitely stay here again if I came to Wheeling.

The jet tub button was broken. No one at the desk informed me of how to properly work the jets. Tub dial was on the other side of the wall no where near the tub (found out after leaving). The manager there who appeared also to be property owner or atleast behaved like so was a terrible receptionist. No manners. Blocked our card at morning 9 AM whereas the checkout time is at 11 AM. When I asked why was this done, then instead of simply apologizing which would have been more than enough the guy thought of making a cooked up story. Also it was a saturday and still they kept breakfast from morning 6 to 9 instead of keeping it open to 10. If can avoid this then please do, not work saving few bukcs to a better place offering peace of mind. I am defintely not going to take my business here anymore. Not recommended.

This is a mistake by selected the wrong location (we meant to stay in Pittsburg). Within a second of receiving conformation we called both Expedia and the hotel to notify the mistake. We got a callback from the hotel (a lady), told us we get full refund since it has not been processed. As of now we haven’t got it. It has been charged and the hotel manager refuse to honor the words!

My family has stayed numerous times at the Elm Grove, Wva Super 8. It is clean and comfortable. The rates through Expedia for Super 8 are fantastic. We are on the go all day when in Wheeling to visit family, we just use the room to sleep. I cannot justify paying $100 more per night to stay at a nicer hotel such as Hampton Inn. I recommend Elm Grove, Wva Super 8 for great rates and comfortable stay.

They fail to mention they charge $50.00 (refundable) for the damage deposit BUT KEEP.AN EXTRA $5.00 For charging you. Breakfast was limited to toast, waffles, or cereal and coffee. Our room had a strange odor in it and there were some sketchy people there for sure. We had an issue with the toilet and told the person at the desk and when we got back 9 hours later still not resolved. When we called again they came right then and fixed it. I would not feel safe staying there alone.

Nowhere does it say that, so the room is basicly $5.00 more. Between Super 8 here in Wheeling and the one in Gettysburg PA I will never stay at another Wyndham Property.

I'll also not use hotels.com, Expedia, booking ECT... My next trip I'll simply look up hotels in my area and book directly. No more money for nothing.

Most importantly, no more Super 8 for any reason.

Upon check in I was informed about a $5 fee that would be charged because a $50 deposit was required and would be refunded if the room was left ok but the $5 was charged in order to get your deposit back. Rooms are dirty. I wore white socks for an hour and the bottoms were black. Internet was sketchy at best. I worked night shift and needed to extend my stay by 1 night and there was nobody at the fro t desk and I waited over an hour to check in for the extension. I slept during the day and even with the sign on the door, housekeeping still knocked on the door every hour. DO NOT STAY HERE. RUN AWAY!!

First, this isn't a Hilton, so people who expect a \"fancy\" hotel will be disappointed. However, if what is important to you is a clean, quiet, comfortable room to sleep, this one is great. The pillows were so good. All the staff, including the owner, I encountered were polite and nice. Breakfast is very basic continental, \"grab and go\" type. Yes, there is a deposit, which is a commonality these days, and they did charge a $5 fee to refund the deposit. The room cost was still a savings compared to others of the same quality in the area. Measure your expectations to Super 8's and this is the best I have stayed in.

Got to the hotel to see a sign that says “when booking through a 3rd party website there will be a $50 dollar deposit hold, and $5 dedicated from it as a charge” I’m completely fine with this however a heads up or something on the website would’ve been nice. Then when checking in the front desk agent verbally told me and my friend our room number and where it was. We are two young (24&23) girls traveling alone. And the agent thought it would be a good idea to say where our room is aloud for the entire lobby to hear? You never know who’s listening or who has bad intentions. We went to our room and immediately put a chair in front of the door feeling unsafe. We didn’t want to say anything because we’ll be coming back to the property on our round trip home and didn’t want to have the employee mad at us.

Have not received my $50 deposit.

Was charged a $50 deposit after I paid for room. As long as we have traveled, we have never been charged before.
I brought attention to manager for a list in the room that could come up missing. We did not have a coffee pot to start with, nor did we have the 4th pillow. He said the deposit was to cover lost items, and we would be refunded. We stayed two nights, only had one wash cloth each for two nights.(2).
Breakfast was crappy, Waffles overcooked. As of 6/10/24, 7;10 PM, we have not received our deposit.

My two words: Mostly good.

Good things
* Feared that the property might not be quiet at night or early in the morning, but it was fine
* For the price, refrigerator and microwave in the room were nice touches
* Property was easily accessible and staff was cordial

Other things
(And these are what I'd consider minor infractions)
* No Weather Channel on TV. Don't think I ever stayed at hotel that didn't have that channel
* Something was wrong with 43-channel TV lineup. On Channels 17, 20 and 37, the same channel aired -- SportsNet Pittsburgh. 37 was supposed to be TNT, which carried NBA playoff games at night. Couldn't watch them because SNP was carried instead. I told someone at the front desk who wrote the information down, but nothing ever changed the next two days.
* Must have walked through the lobby 20 times, and I'd say no staff at the front desk 15 of those times. A couple times I wanted to ask about something.
* The wifi password I was given upon check-in had apparently expired a day or two before. It wasn't until the second day that I got a working password.
* I didn't get to try the daily breakfast that was provided because the times were (what I think) too early -- 6 to 9 a.m. I worked nights 45 years, so my sleep hours are mostly 1-9 a.m. Most hotels extend their hours to 10 or later.
