I guess you get what you pay for. The staff here are dismissive and don’t care about you or your needs. The neighborhood around is filled with rude people as well. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I understand people come here for long term plastic surgery needs, but it’s shocking how the staff is here.

This is a nice hotel close to Gangnam Station. There are many restaurants nearby. The staff were always available and I liked the decor. The room was spacious and the amenities were excellent - not just a fridge, but a microwave, stovetop, and even a combo washer/dryer for laundry, all in your room.

Very convenient reasonably priced Hotel with front office.
Clean with everything one needs especially if staying more than several days. A little difficult to find this Hotel being located couple roads behind the main street. The front desk help was nice also I would stay here again if price is still reasonable.

Very large room. I did a diamond room - it had a fridge and cooking facilities. One side of the hotel faces a tree lined street which is much prettier and quieter. I got the other side - facing old run down buildings with noisy aircon fans. Room was great if I didn't open the window. Front desk was mostly accommodating. Its near a main route for busses so very convenient that way.

The front desk people mostly were unhelpful. Seemed like they had a grudge. They should know English with so much foreign clientele. The gym sucked. On Expedia it says they have a gym. But, it’s in the car park , underground, no windows. There are 8 machines in all- half of them broken. The AC didn’t work.
The front desk wouldn’t even apoplogize and didn’t have the courtesy of issuing me a coupon to a good gym one floor above. I paid for that gym daily and on complaining to Expedia, finally got two breakfasts out of them.

I liked how the hotel was in a quiet area despite being near the busy streets of gangnam. The cleaning staff, female receptionists were very nice and professional. The male receptionists on other hand were not.
It has been around 30 years since the last time my father and I have been to Korea. We were not familiar with many things. I was very disappointed when I expected great customer service and respect from Korean establishments.
At the end of our stay, they did not give us a tax refund receipt with the tax barcode. They said if we showed the receipt to the tax refund desk, they would refund us. The airport did not allow us to get a refund with the receipt given by the hotel. This is unacceptable. They have already received the payment tax from the government. We are furious. Why would they give us a receipt that does not allow us to get a tax refund at the airport when so many other foreigners have come and gone through this hotel?

Building and common areas was nice, however rooms and bathrooms were dark and dirty. Worn sofa and bed needs to be replaced as the springs dig into your skin. Air conditioning and heater are centrally controlled, set at about 78-79 degrees Fahrenheit, quite uncomfortable for a paid vacation, and analogous to having your mom trying to save electricity at home.

Gangnam Artnouveau is a older property and while it has a retro feel probably needs a bit of a face lift. But it was clean and convenient. The kitchen needed a new more dishes and utensils but we ate out mostly so not a great issue. The area was so convenient to the station and shops. Just a word of warning there are 2 hotels with the same name with a kilometre or so of each other so really easy to get the wrong one.

Stayed for 9 nights, and then another 7 nights at different room in Nov. 24. Each room has a cooking facility (furnished) and a washer/dryer. My 1st room (and 2nd too, to a lesser extent) had an overwhelming curry smell; it took housekeeping 3 attempts to \"de-smell\" the room before it became bearable. The rice cooker was splattered with curry and so was the general cooking area: had it removed. But the smell never went away: the 2nd room had a lesser but still present smell.
The staff was professional and very courteous, and so was the housekeeping. The hotel, at a convenient location was good; just make sure your room does not smell.

The location was very good. I've seen a couple of reviews of staff being rude, but that wasn't the case at all for me. They sotred my luggage on the check in&check out day (even at late night) and gave me a room uphrade as well. It was beyond my expectation, I'd higly come here again next time I visit Korea!

This charming 1980's once luxury boutique apartment hotel is nestled among other smaller hotels and all the conveniences you would ever need away from home. It is in walking distance from the main roads of Gangnam, the restaurants, coffee shops, subway stations, pharmacies, 24-hour convenience stores, and shoe repair shacks even.
My room was dirty, but when I complained, they moved me to a different room. Although I still had to dust the room the maid service came every morning with free bottles of water. I packed very light, so the washing machine in the kitchen came in very handy.
I loved the old luxury - marble counters, framed mirror wall, chandeliers with colored cut glass, wood paneling... It felt like home.

The room was very big and it was very convenient to have a washing machine (with drying option) in our room. We also had a big fridge and freezer and a electric hob with extractor fan, and plates and pans available too and a kettle. This was very useful as we could have breakfast or food in the room whenever we liked. The room had plenty of clothes storage and big bed and very powerful shower, and a Korean bidet toilet. It was all cleaned every day and new towels provided daily as well. The hotel has great sound proofing, we had a lovely view of a park/gardens. It is located by exit 5 of Gangnam (2 to 3 minute walk), and 2 minutes walk to Paris Baguette, and 10 seconds to the convenient store - CU. It is very good location and very very safe area. All thr staff spoke english and were very helpful always. There are 3 resturants within the hotel, a spa and a gym as well. We had a brilliant time and have recommended the hotel to many people already and look forward to staying at thier sister branches in different cities when we next go to Korea. Fully recommend, perfect.

COCKROACH!: There was a cockroach in the bathroom on the third day of my stay When I alerted them they came quickly and treated chemicals. I did not see any for the rest of 7 days of my stay
DINGY GYM: The gym is small and cramped. The equipments seem to be at least 20 years old. The circulation is limited, no air no towel no water. It is better not have any gym at all than this one for the reputation of the hotel.
GOOD
Other than cockroach the room was clean and spacious. There were kitchenette, and washer/dryer in the unit so it was great for long term stay (10 nights). Close to the subway and bus stations and in the middle of Gangnam so lots of activities were close by.

The room was so hot, so I opened the window, but there was a loud machine noise and a constant smell of food mixed with smoke. It was like that the whole time I was there, and the room was covered in old dust in every corner. The kitchen appliances were sticky because the switches hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The thermostat didn't work at all, and it was like a sauna. My throat got dry and I even started coughing.I'm never going back there again though I like the location.

Turn off the fridge before you sleep. It woke us up with beeping noises in the morning.

The hotel has many issues and it’s outdated. The hotel feels more like a 2 star than a 3.5 star.

Cheap mattress and bedding. Pillow cases are slightly discolored.

Slightly weird smell in the room and in the hallways.

Sound proofing is so so.

Weak hot water pressure in the bathroom sink.

Fitness center is poorly equipped and it’s an unpleasant room in the parking garage on floor B3.

Make sure to return the key card or they say they will charge 11,000 won.

Overall it’s worse than in the pictures. Maybe ok for this neighborhood if the price is low but I recommend you consider other hotels or neighborhoods.

The hotel claims to be 4 star but it doesn’t provide conditioner, body lotion and other amenities ie iron and iron board and the safe was not operable. Staff needs to speak English better because only can communicate basic conversation properly. The rest cannot at all.

My go-to hotel in Seoul

There’s a reason this is my hotel of choice for Seoul trips, for over ten years and counting. The facilities and rooms are definitely a bit worn, I admit. But the staff, service, and convenience are so stellar that I continue to stay here.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with cookware, dishes and cutleries. An in-room washer means I can do laundry frequently and the closet has a built in clothes drying rack (or you can request a larger drying rack to be sent to your room).

A large grocery store is two blocks away and they will deliver your purchases to your room - you shop at the store and let them know it is the Artnouveau + your room number. No lugging groceries back, it’s free delivery, and you pick out your own supplies.

Fantastic restaurants all around you, super close to subway and bus stops, a 24 hour convenience store next to the hotel.

A separate living room and bedroom area in even the smallest rooms is nice. This hotel has huge rooms - larger than most other hotels I’ve stayed at for a fraction of the price.

I had to switch my first room because it was dirty, but the staff was accommodating and gave me a very clean room the second time around. The staff was helpful when i needed transportation until i figured it out but they were always nice and helpful. The restaurants surrounding the hotel were delicious, and its very close to the subway, bus station and it was easy to get taxis. I liked that they always left water after a room cleaning and would air the room out for me. Overall the 3 weeks i stayed was great

The room was spacious and nice, and the decoration was classy. When I entered the room, the smell was a bit odd, but opening the windows made it better. The shower area could be bigger, but the washlet was filthy so I didn't use it. The dark flooring makes it difficult to see dirt, so it was not nice to find stains and sticky spots on surfaces.

The hotel location is decently located near the subway so that is nice. But that’s pretty much all this place has going for it. Check in was fine until we realized we weren’t given the toiletries kit. Then we noticed what looked like someone sprayed red wine all over the ceiling. The room was not even fully cleaned for check in and you could tell it wasn’t preped for the new customer. The kitchen area is a decent size but the accessories are old and dirty. Multiple outlets and the phone to call down to the front desk were not working. Even with all this, we didn’t complain to the front desk. The last straw was when house keeping barged in our room at 8am on a Saturday morning. Check out isn’t for another 4 hours or so, so that is never ok. When we called to the front desk to see what’s going on they were hardly apologetic probably do to the fact that we are foreigners. Unfortunately for them my wife is mixed Korean and has lived here for many years so they couldn’t bs us. For this price point this hotel is the worst I’ve ever been to and I won’t be coming back when there are many other options in Seoul.

You can’t believe it! Its internet speed is a couple of Mbps!!!!! But it’s in Korea, in Seoul, in Gagnam district!!!!

There was a washing machine in the room but if you wash your T-shirt it won’t be clean but dirty because the machine is so dirty!

I liked the hotel but the gym was lacking a variety of equipment and the breakfast should be more westernized. The location of the hotel is convenient as it is near to Gangnam station, transfer to other lines is very easy anyway. The hotel is old, but all things are working such as air conditioner, washing machine and the lighting system, which you can control at your bedside. You can hear the room next door, but not too bad, as we are tired anyway from doing stuff outside, so we passed out as soon as we hit the bed. Staff are very accomodating, thru phone call and in person. You can top up your transpo card and they have currency exchange on-site. We have a shortened stay instead of a week, but overall, its a nice place to stay, especially for those who aren't picky.

Next door to my room was some kind of Arab spice shop so our room stunk, they would have parties every night and even though the hotel was meant to be spoke free they were smoking next door so much we could smell it in our room.

Asked for late check out, they completely forgot and the cleaning lady walked into my room while I was getting changed.

Will never stay here again!
