We checked in our room only to be received by a foul sewage-like stench throughout the unit. On top of that we had virtually no warm water to shower with. We notified the staff and they downgraded us to a smaller unit with an extremely small shower that quite literally measured 3’x3’. You could not turn around in the shower without turning the shower knob off.

The icing on the cake was that this unit too suffered from the lack of warm water availability. Imagine coming back to your apartment after a long day of traveling and wanting to unwind in a warm shower. Not here.

I reached out to the staff once more and they never responded.

I do not recommend Bob W. Atocha Madrid. Save your hard earned money and stay elsewhere.

The studio was a decent size for two people. It was nice having the kitchenette though we only used it to boil water for the morning coffee. Not quite big enough to be able to cook a whole meal. I was surprised by the many thoughtful details, e.g., laundry detergent (which I didn't use but it was nice nonetheless), the recommendations, etc. It's across the street from a market, so if the kitchen had been a separate room, I might have cooked.

The only downside is that I had little control of the temperature - it was a little too hot in the room for my taste. While that was easily solved by opening the window in December, it did get a little noisy -- thankfully, I had ear plugs.

Check-in and check-out were easy, despite no one being there. All in all, a decent stay. I'd stay there again - but not in summer. I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to get the room cool enough for me.

We have an excellent stay at Bob W Arte.

The facilities provided were spotless, the staff courteous and attentive when required.

It’s located within 5 mins walk of a super market, across the road from a food market, and within 10 mins walk of 3 Metro Stops.

There’s a good coffee shop just next door and a couple of decent places to eat close by. It’s provided us with a good snap shot of Madrid living. Getting around Madrid was easy too.

The apartment overall was nice but there was this horrid drain odour that was coming from the apartment as soon as we stepped into the apartment. The staff was aware and had left windows open for ventilation but that didn’t help at all. I complained to the management and they said someone would come in the morning to have a look. Some form of chemicals were put down the drains while we were out and I was left with a message that it had been treated. However upon our return the stench was worse than before. Also one of the sliding bathroom doors got stuck and two guests got their fingers caught whilst trying to open the door. Very disappointed with our overall experience and what has made it worse is that the management hadn’t offered any sort of compensation. If I was you I would steer clear of this apartment!

Loved the concept of having the quality of a hotel but with the convenience of an apartment. For a work trip this is ideal, I used the gym pass that was included and also very convenient to have a washing machine, cooking options etc.

Communications with the Bob W Arte group was very responsive as there was always someone to answer you questions. The place was quite spacious with a very long hallway between the bedrooms and kitchen/lounge areas. There was a few extra ammenities like wall chargers but a thing to note was lack of a spatula utensil for frying - not sure if this was intentional but there was a drawer downstairs to get extra cooking utensils but none there either. We couldn’t find the sink plug, but mainly did dishes in the dishwasher. Dishwasher broke down on our last day, and the light circuit would trip if you have too many electrical items in use including lights. Some items were a little run down such as arm rest on couch was falling off, drawer in bathroom was broken. These were minor issues easily overcome, but just to note. Check in was easy with code to enter building and accomodation. Really nice shower and great shampoo/conditioner/soap amenitites. They have a system to get your own stuff if you needed- such as towels, knives/ forks, batteries etc - and two shared washing machines. We had a first floor room - no views of anything - so nothing like the picture in Expedia- that was slightly disappointing. But overall - stay was really good and we enjoyed it here.

The apartment and the on-site employee (in a back room) were great, but...
Problem #1. The hotel ignores messages. On June 10th I asked whether the building had a washing machine. No reply. On June 13th I sent a follow-up. Still no reply. So we re-organized our plans to allow several hours in a laundromat. Then we got to the apartment and it had a washing machine. Happy to have it, but annoyed that we needlessly wasted our time reorganizing our plans, all because the hotel couldn't be bothered to answer our question.
Problem #2. The hotel's communications were insincere and annoying. They pretend they're being helpful and super cool, when really they're just cutting their costs. For example, when they say \"We’re not fans of those awkward in-person check-ins, so we got rid of them\" what they mean is that they're willing to make things more difficult for their guests in order to save the cost of a receptionist. If they just said \"We want to provide a good apartment at the lowest possible price, so there's no reception desk\" we'd be fine with that.
Similarly, they urge their guests to \"be kind to their fellow travellers\" and \"do their karma a favor\" by saying if they're arriving late or leaving early, so other guests can have a late check-out or early check-in. But really the hotel just wants to charge those other guests 10€/hour for an early check-in or late checkout.
In summary, the apartment was great — it's the management that's the problem.

A really good stay overall, very communicative the entire way and the place had a great kitchen with very close supermarket so I was able to cook a lot of food myself instead of needing to eat out for every meal. It is very close to lots of things to see, even though it is very close to the metro I opted to walk most places.

Great Choice in Madrid

The space was a perfect size for the two of us. Located in a non-touristy area with plenty of choices for food, drink and groceries. The kitchen was stocked with enough things to give us a base; extra items available for use (laundry drying form, reusable grocery bag, yoga mats, etc.) The access to the building and room was effortless. We were in Madrid during the blackout and Maria stood at the building the whole time to insure the guests of access and to keep us informed. She also arranged for a taxi service to get us to the airport on time.

Amazing place

This place is fantastic. The location, condition, staff, etc. were all perfect. Due to an emergency, we needed to open the lock on our suitcase, and a hotel employee not only brought tools but also personally helped us. My husband and I just spent 8 days at the Bob W with our 3 children, ages 12, 11, and 9. We loved the apartment; the beds were very comfortable, it was quiet and we had access to a washing machine in the common area and a clothing drying rack in our apartment. The French press and extra coffee were amazing to have every morning.
There are many bakeries and restaurants nearby plus local, small markets. We walked miles each day to get to the attractions or tours we were taking and the kids handled 5 to 8 miles of walking each day. Cabify, Uber and FreeNow were all easy taxi services to get the 2 times we wanted them.
There is a SantaGloria cafe on the ground floor of this building which made breakfast super easy for the kids when we wanted or an evening pastry and coffee. We’d definitely stay here again!!

No había ningún pestillo para poder cerrar desde dentro, lo cual me ha generado inseguridad ya que no se quien tiene acceso al código y no he dormido tranquila.

Localização, conforto em tamanho, e atendimento muito bons. Muito espaço e havia tudo que é necessário para uma ótima estadia. Ambiente elegante, moderno, dedicado à sustentabilidade; tudo no lugar certo. Janelas antirruído, vista agradável, etc. Cafeteria/padaria no mesmo prédio; supermercado e farmácia atravessando a rua.

The property was easy to access and had good amount of space. The hot water runs out after about 5 seconds and turned to lukewarm then cold within about 30 seconds every time, which was very inconvenient as it is winter time and borderline freezing outside. We informed management multiple times and was told everything was operating normally and if the water was cold then to wait an hour and it would be ok again. It wasn’t. Everything else was ok.

Our 2/2 apartment was great for our family of 4. Location was easy walking distance around the city. Local market across the street was a great hit. Neighborhood is very quiet. building was in very good condition and onsite staff very helpful. We liked it so much we booked it again for 2 nights before our vacation ended.

Great location

Great location. Outside the tourist area but close to Arocha station and just on the border with Lavapies. We most loved the fact that the accommodation was not noisy at all despite being just off the main road; also did not hear any other guests despite ppl coming and going. The bed was super comfy, loved that. Also loved having yoga mats in the room. Overall, great location and comfort. Easy and quick communication and super clean.

Loved the unique touches Bob W Arte had, like the tote bag and polaroid camera to take pics of your stay. Also found the washing machine and two detergent pods provided extremely convenient and useful (we did laundry twice!). They had a great assortment of dishes, wine glasses, pots and pans, and salt & pepper for cooking. We arrived 3 hours prior to check in and Lola was kind enough to store our luggage while we walked around and had brunch and then had our luggage taken to our room. Keyless entry was super conveninent and great not to have to worry about keys or cards to open the entrance or room. The best thing tho is probably the communication on whatsapp. Any little thing I messaged about, they were always so quick to respond and very helpful and accommodating with the requests I had. Would definitely stay at another Bob W. location in the future!

Great location close to everything. Metro very near and easy to use. The unit was well stocked with lots of extras, i.e., qtips, cotton pads, shampoo, soap, hand sanitizer, etc. They even supply a reusable shopping bag, camera with instant film, blow dryer, washing machine, etc. If you need to store your luggage prior to check in or even after check out - they have a luggage locker. We were very comfortable and will definitely return to this location!! Excellent customer service!

We have two views on our November 2024 stay at Bob W in Madrid. On one hand, the apartment was clean, provided all the amenities needed, well laid out, and a great apartment for a few days stay in the city.

On the other hand, the kitchen did not come with a spatula nor a cutting board - two essential items in any kitchen - and there was very little hot water for taking a shower. The worst was that Bob W kept texting us asking about our stay and how they could make it better but when we told them the issues the answer was “oh well”.

Beautiful place. The apartment is exceptionally clean, nice and big. Great communication. Nearby groceries and restaurants. Only problem was hot water ran out quickly, out of 5 people only 1 person was able to take a shower with hot water. My daughter had to sit inside the shower while waiting for the hot water. The water was dripping from the ceiling while my husband was sitting on the toilet.

This place is a fabulous place to stay while in Madrid. It is close to everywhere. Very easy and secure access to the building. The place is superbly clean. The bed is very comfortable to sleep in. Attention to details, very clean and tidy with nice ‘add-ons’ (chargers, game console joysticks, coffee beans, area tips, yoga mats, etc). Full kitchen too, ended up not using as I spent the entire trip museum hopping - which brings the next big plus: walking distance to Reina Sofia, El Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, Reina Sofia being the closest, I walked to all 3 end enjoyed coffee stops or a beer or two along the way.
The ‘hotel’ is 3 minutes away from El Roble, one of the breakfast places Bob W recommends. I did have dinner there and it was well worth it- recommended!

Je préfère éviter les apparthotels habituellement, mais devant le coût exorbitant des hotels madrilènes, je m'y suis résigné. Pas de réception, tout se fait par courriel et la communication est excellente. L'appartement était propre, fonctionnel et à distance de marche de plusieurs sites.
Beau petit café en bas. Bob vous donnera l'option de prendre un forfait raisonnable avec eux pour le petit-déjeuner.

Amazing aparthotel. The staff were super friendly and ready to help at all hours. We had an issue with the access code upon arriving late at night and the staff responded immediately and were very helpful. They also check with you periodically to see how you’re doing which was nice. All the kitchen necessities were provided for you to cook your meals. Nicely decorated apartment, comfortable beds with a home-y yet unique feel. Good location, within short walking distance to the Prado and Reina Sofia museums. Quiet location at night despite being multiple bars around the area. Grocery store and market conveniently located across the street. Will stay at another Bob W hotel in the future!
