I stayed in 5 different hotels during my trip to Vietnam, and this was the most disappointing. The front desk staff were not friendly nor accommodating/hospitable.

The hotel is newer, but poorly built, as is the modern way, I guess. I could hear my neighbors, the cleaning staff in other rooms, and screaming kids from the pool.

Everything (schedules, menus, room service) is online via a QR code, but half the time the internet didnt work.

Lastly, this was the most expensive hotel I stayed at and the value/service for the money just wasn't there. I would not recommend staying here.

This is the most amazing hotel and I highly recommend you stay at this resort.

I stayed in king room overlooking the beach and it was superb.

The staff are wonderful and the restaurants serve beautiful dishes, my favourite was the Italian restaurant.

I will be back in 2027, and I will stay longer than 3 days as the experience was truly unforgettable.

Sea view room was really nice but the sunken and hard bed gave me backache.
The beach was really nice to swim in and relax, spacious and many day beds.
The full body massage was nice and we went daily but the head treatment was a waste of money.
Breakfast was good but the options at the dinner buffet we booked was lack of freshness and poor choices and quality.
Service is quite slow sometimes

The villas are amazing and if you book a beachfront villa then you are in for a real treat, as far as accommodation is concerned. But as soon as you have a problem, need assistance or ask for anything the staff are not adequately trained to manage issues. Take note of current advertised offers on Sheratons website because you will find that they do not update their website and offers are not honoured or are removed without notification. It is almost like they are fishing for guests with offers and incentives yet when they don't achieve the results from their fishing, they simply pretend like the offers or extras never existed. What really disapointed my wife and I was that we planned our getaway around all of the little bonuses and extra activities that were on offer from Sheraton. You are spolit for choice in Phu Quoc when it comes to resort style accommodation so additional benefits that are available at the resort you choose, can and will make a difference to the overall experience. So if you are looking for that really special holiday with all the extras, consider somewhere else because the Sheraton Phu Quoc will not live up to expectations and only disappoint.

Spacious beautiful villa with plenty of space for everyone. Three separate bedrooms for privacy but also a grand living room for family gatherings. Private pool that lit up at night was a nice touch. Great hotel, great and helpful staff, very clean and has a really nice feel to it! Loved the pool area and the beach and the whole hotel so so well maintained. The vilas were beautiful and staff kept coming to give us free water and were so prompt with their service. Language is a bit of an issue in Vietnam but no complaints from the hotel, loved our stay!

Beautiful resort with a huge swimming pool and other facilities such as gym, table tennis, snooker, free bike rental…. , close to a nice long beach. Excellent breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. Free airport pick up and drop off.

We booked a 3 bedroom villa at a good room rate, very spacious and comfortable. Free buggy transfer between lobby and villa. The resort is huge, very nice to bike or walk around.

Only cups are available inside the villa. We got 2 extra plates for free. If you need extra plates/bowls and cutlery, you would need to rent from them.

Overall a very enjoyable stay at the Sheraton. Would definitely consider staying here next time if we could book at more or less the same rate.

Overall the resort was nice. The beach was very nice and not crowded. What makes this review a 2, maybe a 3 star is the food. The food was terrible unless you ordered room service or are at the garden restaurant. But it was very expensive in my opinion. Maybe that’s the price you pay for the quiet beach and quiet resort experience, who knows. But, I would think that if you’re going to pay premium prices then you should get premium options. Felt like a Cuban vacation if I’m being honest. Not what I was expecting from a Sheraton.

Staff are unable to speak English. Even in the restaurant they were not able to understand what I was trying to order. Only management can speak English.Hotel has a tour desk but was unable to help book a tour. I had to go to front desk where they booked it for me. What's the point of having a tour desk if they cannot understand what I was saying? I was told that it is a poor Island and they choose to staff the poor people. The hotel is about 4 years old, surely they can train the staff before taking them on. I put up a review straight away on Expedia
and I was told by management constantly to remove it! Management made me sign a form saying to refute all and for that I was sent a plate of fruit which was nothing special, what is served at breakfast everyday and given a little donut.My shower tray always filled up with water not draining away into the plughole everytime I showered. They were not able to fix this problem. They have a shuttle service for the night market.
which I used 3 times. Each time I experienced people shoving and pushing to get on the bus. No control there. I can't believe people staying at a 5 star hotel can behave in such unmannerly way. I travel on my own. I was always the 1st one in the line , but never managed to get on the bus 1st. Beach loungers have towels from early in the morning and you don't see them occupied till later in the day, so if you arrive late, than no lounger for you.I can go on, but you get the idea. I would not recommend hotel.

Beautiful Resort, lack of information

The hotel is beautiful and the villa was luxurious. The buffet meals were good with enough variety to keep you interested each day. What is strange is the service. All of the staff are lovely but have clearly not been trained properly and do not understand customer service at a 5 star level. For such a huge resort we were offered very little information related to the facilities that we could use or even offered a map. We were given basic information related to the theme parks and bus times. Most of the facilities seemed abandoned such as the club house and pool restaurant. This was disappointing. The beach is nice but nothing special. A nice relaxing place for a family vacation but a long way from anything. If I were to return to Phu Quoc I would consider staying again but it is unlikely I would return to Phu Quoc, there are many far better beach spots in Vietnam and SEA.

We booked a 4 bedroom villa with ocean view and it turned out better than what we expected. The villa has a 4 MASTER bedrooms (and a private pool)!!! The view was perfect!!! We enjoyed every moment there and the staff was professional and provided great service thru out our stay. We will definitely staying here again next time.

Overall a great stay. We stayed in a Villa which is separate from the main hotel building and could be reached by a five minute walk or by one of many buggies (golf carts).

The buggy service was excellent, during busy times they quote 5-10 minutes for collection from the Villa, however only once did I have to wait even 5 minutes (and that was before 6am).

The Villa itself is huge (at least 200 square metres) with an enormous living room/ dining room/ kitchen. The bedroom are large and comfortable along with a luxury bathroom. There is also a private plunge pool at the rear of the Villa. I briefly used a regular hotel room when during the check out process and the Villa is far superior (particularly if you need more than one bedroom or are travelling as a group/ family).

The public areas of the hotel are also on a grand scale. The main pool, one of the biggest I've ever seen, easily 80m + in length (an olympic pool is only 50m).

The areas for improvement are the dining options. Be aware that the hotel is at least 30 minutes from the main town and there are only two shuttle buses in the evening (hourly would be much better). If you go all inclusive every meal is a buffet. One buffet a day (for breakfast) was enough in hotel dining for us. They really need more dining options and more shuttle buses.

I particularly want to highlight, the Turkish manager, Akin, who is excellent and provided great resolution to a couple of minor issues that came up during our week long stay.

This is an amazing hotel with lots of charm and high-quality construction in sort of an Italian style. The pool is amazing and huge, and all is only a few steps from the beach! During our stay their second restaurant was under renovation, but the main venue stands in its own lovely two-storey building. The staff is very eager to assist. All of this 5-star experience is not expensive and actually very well priced; we have stayed elsewhere in the past but plan to return here soon.

It was a pleasant stay at the hotel regardless some minor issues. Staffs were pretty friendly and food was pretty good. Unfortunately, at the time we stayed we could not enjoy crabs or shrimps because of some reasons. That would be a disappointment for whoever love seafood.
Anyway it was a really excellent experience for my family.

The place is awesome with breathtaking view of the ocean and a great pool. Safari ride was good. Amusement park had very little to offer for a kid <6 years. Spoiler was the language barrier which created loads of confusion.

Amazing hotel with a fantastic beach

We had gone on many cruises and all inclusive vacations and this hotel is the best of both worlds. The hotel lobby is styled similar to the cruise ship, check-in was no hazzle and the room very tasteful and large. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and regular buffets were tasty, plenty of choices for both foodies and picky eaters. This place has a beautiful pool with a swim-up bar. There is now free shuttles to downtown Phu Quoc which was a bonus. Valuewise is a little expensive as the cost for drinks and meals are too inflated. We would come back to this resort every winter if there is some sort of limited meals and drink plans available. It was still an unforgettable vacation.

Vinpearl - Wonderful Hotel

We stayed 8 nights in this hotel (family of 4). It is like brand new with stunning facilities. Staff is extremely nice and polite. Food was absolutely delicious from all sources: buffet restaurant, bar menu and in room service (they are all different menus). Best breakfast we have ever had with a lot of choice. Beautiful Christmas gala dinner organised on 24th December.

Great if you just want to stay at the resort

The resort itself is very nice and comfortable but it's located in a very isolated part of the island. To get to the night market and back by taxi took 700k vnd! Also to get from the airport and to the hotel will take about 45 minutes plus waiting time- for the Vin pearl shuttle. The shuttle bus is new but I found the experience to be petty bad. The roads are bumpy and narrow, there is alot of construction trucks/ dust and trash bags line the street (the Island has a huge trash problem).

As I found with many places in Vietnam the front desk people are very formal and there can be some silly 'rules'. I had 6 people in a 3bdrm villa and asked for bowls and spoons. At first the front desk told me I can only borrow 5 sets. When I questioned why only 5 when the occupancy is 6 I was told that's the rule. Now to their credit, the manager did call me back and approve the extra plate but it still felt like a huge hassle. Another example is my wife ordered a drink at the pool bar. The drink came out too strong for her liking so we asked for more 7up or sugar to make it taste better. Guess what? Well they wanted to charge me to alter the drink. So we told them no on principal and just gave the drink to another person in our group. It's not lIke the drink was cheap either at 170k vnd.

So If you want all inclusive and to never leave the Resort then this place would be good. But that's really not my style so I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Hotel with a great beach

It is beautiful hotel with a great beach. Villa was of big size but maybe lacking some decoration for a five star hotel.

Food option was very limited as both restaurant offer only buffet both for lunch and dinner with almost same food variety offered for 2 consecutives days . A la carte menu is only available in the room....not much choice for a 5 star hotel especially when you want to lunch on the beach or at the swimming pool. Room service is also too long to be served for simple food ordered like spaghetti or pho soup.

One of the bed in room 6528 got bed bugs when reported at the reception the person did not do much aside from asking if ok.

The beach is really worth it but hotel service maybe let down by limited food option and service.

Nice but staff needs to learn proper etiquette

The hotel was nice and new. When you walk in it smells like spray paint, that's how new it is. I came to this hotel thinking they had a gym and spa. Nope. The hotel staff makes you go through a vigorous check-in which includes walking you over to a lounge, then back over to another lounge, then finally up to the counter. If you only speak English, good luck getting your point across. As a Vietnamese speaking patron, I had to order in Vietnamese when they couldn't understand English. I had to ask for an adapter in English since I did not know what the translation was in English and I never got the adapter. Couldn't use my straightener and only got frustrated some more. When you order food they stand behind you and make you feel uncomfortable until you finish and pay. The grounds were nice but this was not a place to have a cocktail. Ask for a vodka soda and you get a 1 ml glass of vodka with ice. The staff seems really confused even with things listed on the menu. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. We played golf at the resort and they add on a lot of extras.

Excellent Hotel with stellar people

I can only recommend the hotel. We were there as a family and we were very pleased with the hotel, especially with the staff, their attitude and relentless hospitality so that we feel great through out the whole stay. The food was great (full board) with many choices from different corners of the world. Swimming pool (cca 80m long) and beach were superb - clean and all the time guarded by few guards at once. Hotel had a kids club which was very well designed, spacious and well run and maintained by supervisory staff. By booking the hotel, we got as well a free entry to the neighbouring Entertainment park (looks like a solid Disneyland) which had many attractions but as well - fully equipped Water park - Magical Fountain - Aquarium and Game zone. Next to the complex was as well very new Hospital (thankfully we did not have to test it). Attached to the hotel is splendid golf course.

Private beach is the best

Our room were great with the sea view, worth every penny. The services were friendly and helpful. However, they charged me the extra amount for kids when we checked in, when we checked out, they asked to charge again?!
The location was really far away from the city, which was a bit inconvenient to eat out and goof around. They had clean pool and private beach, which was I like best.

Not a happy guest with vinpearl resort in Phu Quoc

Wasn't very pleased with our three day stay there. Guest were very loud. Kids running all over the lobby and up and down hall way. It's a very loud resort. Also, the buffet is over price and not good at all. We couldn't wait to leave

We rented the villa for 10 of us. The room was amazing with our own private pool and balconies in each room. We had a great time relaxing when in our own space, but when we get out of our room, some of my family members were nor happy. There are 2 things that put my family's vacation on a negative note: far distance from everything and very poor communication between hotel staffs. The only way out of the hotel is taxi or you rent your car, which is about the same price (600,000-1,000,000 vn dong). That's kind of pricey when we want to eat out for our all our meals because hotel food is very bland. As far as communication, you will probably have to repeat yourself 3 times to get anything right with the hotel staffs because they do not communicate with each other. You have to conform wit them for any of their services a couple of times. Also, pretty much anything not written in the hotel's guideline, the staff can't do anything about. Like when we ask for an extra shot in our drinks that we are willing to pay for, they just smiled at us and said it's not in their recipe.

It was a great hotel. The restaurants were only buffet and over priced. They do not have a shuttle to town or to the other beaches on the island. Their activities were way over priced. I would not stay here again unless I was not planning to leave the hotel.

Not a 5-star experience

This hotel could be so great if staff were trained more on consistency and service... but for now, it's missing key components for being 5 or 4.5 stars. I'd rate 3 out of 5 stars. Love the new villas and amenities. But service and food quality very inconsistent. Room service would take more than an hour to get there. In one case, the hamburger came with a tiny beef patty and inexplicably, a piece of ham on top. Food would have different ingredients menu said, sometimes spicy, sometimes not. Staff would also give conflicting answers about when hotel facilities were open. The resort has a nice safari, but staff communication was nonexistent, resulting in long waits for guests dropped off at the start of the safari and then left to wait in the blazing sun because the safari bus had just left, or long waits back to the resort because transportation left at different times than staff said. During breakfast, management would debrief staff in the middle of the buffet line about problems while service was still happening. Tad unprofessional (and inconvenient if you're trying to get food). Breakfast buffet had same items nearly every day, so gets old after few days. Some staff try to be helpful and are very nice. Just need more of them. The customer experience needs to be smooth and relatively seamless most of the time in a 4.5 to 5 star resort - that's what you're paying high prices for. Not the case here. If you want a truly relaxing experience, consider foreign hotel operators.

The best trip ever

That was the first time I came to Phu Quoc and I was so happy that I chose Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Golf for my last 2 days on this beautiful island. The hotel is one of the best ones that you can find for a 5-star accommodation. The room is not so spacious but decorated well following the Western style. The bed is comfortable. You can find anything for a convenient life during the time staying here as the hotel will offer all. The pool is big locating right next to the peaceful beach. Just lie in one of the chairs there, close your eyes and let your mind relaxed. Buffet meals are good for a 2 or 3 day trip as you will gradually find such meals less interested regardless of the variety of food. There will not be premium food for you too except salmon (not all meals offer this), not anything like lobster or crab but well, they are still delicious. The full-board booking will also enable free access to Vinpearland Theme Park which is ideal for family or couples to get some funny times there, especially the water park. Do not forget the water music show - a must-see. The hotel also features a acoustic music show every night at the bar with a Filipino duo, which you should attend at least once because that is not something that you can experience as beautifully as here. Overal, my trip was a super-satisfied experience.

Everything is excellent. If it could be adding more entertainment at night time, it would be wonderful !
