The room was clean enough, although the kitchen water pressure was pretty much NIL, the shower fawcett was broken and came off, the air conditioning unit filthy, therefore a heap of dirt/dust came out when in use, the bathroom liquids were empty (Soap, shampoo, body wash etc). The lift is the slowest I have ever used in a hotel. No dishwashing tablets/detergent available. All curtains were broken. Overwhelming smell of Indian spices throughout the hotel. Parking was great.

The room was dirty. There were marks all over the walls, they had a fabric chair with stains all over it, it says it has a patio or balcony but it had neither. I was really disappointed. My room had an extra door that was locked which was abit of a worry as i didnt have access to it unsure what is behind it. Positive thing is the lady at the front desk is very welcoming and lovely.

I booked a three-bedroom apartment at Mantra Castle Hill Sydney on 24/07/2025 for a stay on 15/11/2025 for 2 adults and 4 small children. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room we booked was unavailable. We were offered two separate apartments, one with two bedrooms and the other with one bedroom. This arrangement was completely unsuitable for our family and there was no prior communication regarding the change.

Despite staff repeatedly apologizing and offering a refund, the options provided were impractical with only 2 hours before we needed to attend pre-booked entertainment.

Upon inspecting the apartment, we found serious hygiene and safety issues:

Cockroaches in the fridge, toaster, cutlery drawer, and cupboards.

Limited cutlery, plates, and bowls for 6 people.

Main shower and bath were unusable due to a broken bath tap, with water leaking dangerously.

A glass shower door in the ensuite fell on my 6-year-old son, causing a head injury.

All wet rooms had significant mould.

The balcony was unusable due to a hornets’ nest, posing a risk of stings.

This stay was unsafe and completely unsuitable for a family with young children. The condition of the apartment and lack of prior communication were unacceptable. I cannot recommend this property to anyone, particularly families.

We got locked out of our room (key would not engage) twice. we went out arrived home at 11.30 couldn't get in AGAIN had to get someone out of bed to let us in. Booked last minute. A couple of issues around the reservation but the receptionist was great. First room we were given had German cockroaches running over the sink so we were moved to a second room. Seemed ok in the dark but woke up this morning to an unclean room. Not clean, floors not vacuumed, shower head and stall in need of attention, grubby, worn out furniture. I wasn’t expecting a lot but the basics weren’t covered. Left room to return to the car to find it covered in bird poo as nests of birds are living in the car park. Wouldn’t recommend it.

I will say the staff are polite and friendly.

This property is aimed at tradies and similar who are working away from home for the week. It is in need of complete renovation - it is life expired. I had to refuse the first room allocated to me because it was dirty in the kitchenette, bathroom and the main living space. It hadn't even been vacuumed. The rooms facing the industrial estate are prone to early morning noise - garbage trucks coming and going and the like.

You stay here because you need to be in the area for work or family, but not really for any other reason. There are other similar options within 1-2km of this property. I'd suggest checking them out unless they drop the price on this one.

Allocated Level:403A The room had a blown light in lounge room, soiled bed linen (disgusting), Balcony tiles were mouldy covered in leaves and growing weeds and cobwebs. Kitchen - stale food smell around the stove and exhaust. Light in fridge blown and minimal crockery and cutlery eg: one drinking glass only. Cockroaches and no dish liquid. Common areas - Entry to Car Park -Gate broken all traffic via EXIT - safety issue and inside Lift - Door filthy and a broken grab rail-Safety issue. Well overpriced by at least 50% due to run down state overall

Pleasant and helpful people at reception, who gave us an early checkin to one of our rooms. It was located close to the motorway and had free parking on site.
The rooms were adequate for a one night stay, with tea and coffee making facilities. The showers were very good - pressure and hot. The air conditioner in one of the rooms did not work very efficiently and needed dusting. The mattress was flat and lumpy.
The area outside near the carpark had a lot of rubbish and cigarette butts around. It needed a cleanup. It did not look very appealing, being the entrance to the reception area, which is located at the back of an industrial area.
We expected a better standard from a Mantra/Accor property.

I've stayed at the Mantea several times. It's geographically convenient to where I often need to go in the Hills district. The location - in a commercial area - means it's quiet at night, but also you need to drive to restaurants. Access was a bit tricky the first time - it's vehind a commercial development, but not a problem. I'll continue to return when I need accommodation in the Hills district.
The manager is very friendly and welcoming.

This hotel is situated in a business area, so you would expect the room to cater for business travelers. Not so! Our queen room had one chair - a large cushiony armchair. Ideal for a nap.Not an ergonomic chair that would fit at the desk provided! Why would you have a room for two people but only provide one chair - and a totally unsuitable chair? We asked at reception and were told all rooms were like this. A staff member begrudgingly gave us a plastic dining room chair. Do not assume the rooms here are suitable for working on a computer.

This is a truly dreadful hotel. The reception in the carpark is akin to a parking attendants station. The lift and common area carpets are filthy. The furniture in the room is filthy. The smell was awful. A flimsy internal door separated the room i was in from the neighbour. It was a very uncomfortable experience.

On a bright note, the bed and bathroom were clean. So, if you're cost conscious and don't mind a bit if grime, coupled with an off-putting layout and stench, this may be the hotel for you.

Prehaps it was just me, but there won't be a next time.

This property is in the industrial area of Castle Hill and is not bad for the price. If you need to be in this area this property is Ok but there are better places nearby but more expensive.
We had a studio queen and it was a good size. No lounge and the TV is up high on the wall. I really don't know why they put them so high these days.
The smoke doctors flashed all night and we could't get the aircon to work.
The parking is free and normally secure but one of the doors was broken so it wasn't closed all night.
You can hear cars driving around but that is to be expected due to its position. Overall it is fine if you get a good rate.

After reading other reviews I was considering cancelling, thankfully I did not. We travelled to Sydney for medical reasons and Mantra was the place to stay for us, we had a two bedroom, two bath ensuite unit and was very pleased with the quiet, comfort and conveniences the Mantra offered, beds were comfortable, the unit was clean and the toiletries supplied were of a high quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the unit had every convenience we would want at a very affordable price. I would definitely stay again.

I stayed overnight in a studio room with a kingsize bed. Plenty of room for a couple and was reasonably priced compared to other venues in the area. The room was clean, had a comfortable bed and was in a handy locality, although situated at the rear of a light industrial area. Having a kitchenette suited me but here is where more attention should be paid to detail. The bar type fridge freezer was so frosted up you could barely get an ice block(on a stick) in it. There were no sharp knives to cut up anything, nor a board on which to do so. There was only one cereal bowl and no other extra plates or bowls in which to heat anything. The window curtains were droopy at the ends from not being secured properly, but at least you could open the windows to let some fresh air in. The basin plug in the bathroom stayed stuck down when the basin was filled. I was lucky once, and was able to dislodge it, but the second time I had to leave it that way. Personally, I don't like this body wash stuff, and there was no alternative soap provided, so these days I try to remember to carry my own. Otherwise I was happy with the venue but, unfortunately in lower priced facilities it seems that attention to room detail also diminishes. I would stay there again however I think the first thing I do would do after arrival would be to check out the facilities.

This property advertising is misleading, the photo you see on the webpage is not of that property, the entrance to the hotel if you can call it that is on the back of a factories complex. The room we were allocated have the curtains following into one side and due to that you couldn't open. The carpet in the room very dirty grease looking as well as the runner on top of the bed and cushion they put on it as decoration that I put it on the floor on the first day and still there on check out after my 3-night stay. $200 a night totally Over prize for what it's shame on you Matra definitely no coming there again!!!!

Overall the unit offers a little kitchenette with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, a little living and dining room area and a small balcony which is very convenient. Unfortunately the cleanliness was not good with the toilet still having urine marks of the previous guest under the seat, also the carpets in the hallway had lots of water stains, there were garbage lying around including used earplugs. It was a cold night and I requested a blanket. They do not have blankets and offered an additional Duna which the friendly duty officer brought up to the room. When I placed the Duna in between the two sheets, I saw what the Duna already on the bed looked like and it was appalling. This facility also does not have a restaurant or any shops withing walking distance, therefore if you travel without a car, you have to make use of Uber Eats/Shop. If not for the issues with housekeeping and lack of shops close by, I would have probably rated this unit a bit higher.
