*AVIOD AT ALL COSTS* The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in my 30 years and they should feel very disgraced:
- POWER WENT OUT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR 6 HOURS EACH TIME, AND THE HOTEL SAID ITS NOT THEIR FAULT WITH NO REFUNDS. SAT IN PITCH DARK WITH NO AC, WIFI, ELEVATOR ACCESS, ABILITY TO CHARGE ANYTHING, ETC.
- Killed a bug in the shower
- Shower handle fell off multiple times, bathroom is tiny
- Walls are so thin, you’ll be up all night from people going in and out
- You can’t eat anything with all the pigeons everywhere. Girlfriend refused to eat after the first day
- Ruined entire trip after being woke up to madness the first night the power went out and continued to go out throughout the trip
- Tiny concrete pool area that is packed all day so you can’t use it
- Room got drenched from the fridge / freezer when power went out, ruined my fruit
Just absolutely ruined my trip to Miami that I looked forward to for many months. Will continue to alert as many that I can. Disgraceful.

The staff were all great. We weren’t feeling the greatest and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable while the room was being made ready. The room was clean, comfortable bed, complimentary happy hour drinks.

The only issue was the shower. There was no pressure and we couldn’t figure out how to fix the water temperature.

I did not book a beach view. However, I'm sure you can. The location was perfect. One block off of ocean, which is adjacent to the boardwalk and Miami Beach. There are plenty of nice restaurants right around the area. I strongly suggest renting a ebike or scooter to take advantage of all of the shopping and sightseeing art. Exhibits, museums, aquarium botanical garden. All nearby. You are a few blocks from Washington and Lincoln both are famous for their restaurants. If you're looking for South Beach, you found it.

Excellent access to the beach. Henry at the front desk is a gem! Breakfast first day was great, not so much the second day. Pool is also very small. We stayed in the Villa with our own terrace. For such a big terrace and cost it should have an umbrella, some plants slightly larger seating. Valet parking is a lot but we used it and enjoyed our stay

This property was perfect for our trip purposes. We were in town for just 2 days for a party and wanted to be close to the beach. Although there was not a beach view, it was a quick 2 minute walk through the back of the hotel to get to the beach. Great location within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. Hotel was clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included: scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, waffles, pastries, fruit, bagels, yogurt, cereals and so on. Would have been great to have some gluten free bread or bagel option but there were plenty of other things to eat. Only down side was hotel fees and parking were very expensive (seemingly on trend with others in the area). The hotel was mostly quiet and seemed family friendly.

There were hairs in the bed and room was not cleaned before my arrival. When reported to front desk, I was just given some sheets to lay over it. I was told management will talk to me about this. I reached out next day morning as well. So far no one reached out to discuss this. I was charged the full amount by the way.

We arrived 9am, and great they have a luggage storage while we walk around and enjoy the beach, also giving us beach towels. The older front staff was very pleasing and welcoming. He said, he would call me when the room is ready, which they did. Once we are done with our late lunch, we checked in and was placed to room 102. There was no ramp for our luggage so you need to carry them to the stairs - accessibility fail. That room was terrible as you could hear the elevator machine 24/7.. I asked to be moved but the guy said they are full and no rooms with 2 queen beds. Accepted it. However, after showering, the bathroom floor gets flooded, bathroom was way too small. Worst thing I could not tolerate was the mold issue in their cabinets. Cleanliness is definitely not a prio.

Clean room, GREAT STAFF. The beach is a two minute walk from the hotel, which was great. Jackson was very helpful and accommodating, but really everyone there was. The breakfast was completely disgusting, flavorless eggs, flappy, bacon just overall crappy breakfast so I suggest going somewhere else for breakfast. Everything else was great.

The hotel was older but I LOVED that. That gave the hotel character! The staff was VERY friendly. There was a resort fee but that just covered access to the beach that was about a block away. If there wasn’t resort fee you would likely have had to pay to use the beach otherwise. The fee also got you 2 drinks at the little bar. They also made my daughter a shirt temple for a donation in the top hat. They supplied beach towel to use at the beach too. So the fee was no big deal to us. The hotel and room was very clean. Or TV didn’t work at first but they had a maintenance guy up to fix it promptly. There were two pillows of differing firmnesses. The soft was was amazing!!! The sheets were made of a light cotton or maybe linen rather than the heavy douvet covers in most hotels which was nice because Miami is warm. They were so comfortable. It was a quiet hotel too. The shower head was amazing!! It had multiple settings. For this being a smaller and older hotel I felt like we were staying a a luxury hotel. I will definitely book again if we are in Miami again!!!

I booked the President and they put me in the Penguin Hotel. Had it not been 2:30 am (flight was delayed) I’d have found another hotel.
1. We had to walk through and alley to get to the Penguin. The room was dirty, outdated, had a huge crack in the mirror, a dirty window bench that had white stains on it, paint job was horrible , lamp shades were dirty, night take had cigarette burns and chipped paint

I'd give 5 star for the staff. They were working with what they had doing the best that they could do with broken computers, walkie talkies that didn't work, elevators that where not function properly.

Staff worked very hard with one computer to check in a long line of people, and worked very hard to feed a big crowd of guests every morning. I just watched. I had no desire to stand in that line.

Again, very quality staff, but clearly the owners are investing zero money into maintaining even the basic things for this property.

Bad business to do it that way.

Of course they'll respond here and say that they \"strive to maintain excellent facilities for their customers\" but really, the owners aren't doing anything to maintain even the basic things.

It was also close to the beach and walking distance to a lot of places. I visited in late January and the weather was great until the cold front. Miami was a great trip and I would definitely recommend the President hotel.

Rooms were very clean. Rooftop swimming pool. I loved that it is a family friendly hotel, there were a lot of children and my son had a great time meeting new friends and playing with them at the pool. Highly recommended! We stayed 6 nights and had multiple documented issues from the first day. We had booked and requested an accessible room in advance.

The accessible room provided was in poor condition, including refrigerator malfunction, shower fixture corrosion, AC maintenance alert, and damaged iron that stained clothing. When we raised concerns, we were told this was the only accessible room available and were offered a standard room instead.

Dining area sanitation was also concerning due to pigeons and visible cleanliness issues.

All concerns were reported during the stay. While staff acknowledged issues, no monetary compensation was offered and resort/property fees were charged in full.

Future guests who require accessible accommodations should confirm room condition in advance.

I honestly had such a lovely stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything felt easy and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but exactly what you need. I also really appreciated the beach towel service. It’s one of those small details that actually makes a big difference. I also really appreciated the luggage storage service. Being able to safely store my bags and enjoy my last day freely until my flight schedule made a big difference and showed how considerate the hotel is toward its guests.

The staff were consistently kind, professional, and always ready to help with any questions or requests. Their positive attitude made the stay even more pleasant.

Finally, the location was absolutely perfect — everything you might need was within walking distance, making it easy to explore and enjoy the area.

Overall, a fantastic stay with great service, excellent amenities, and a prime location. Highly recommended!

Fire alarm went off three times in the middle of the night. No direction from staff on the safety protocol. Un super hôtel très bien placé à 2min à pied d’océan drive tout proche de Lincoln road. Le verre d’accueil offert très apprécié. La chambre est très propre et au calme malgré l’emplacement central vraiment nous avons très bien dormi. Le petit déjeuner était plus que correct. Il manque peut être un réfrigérateur dans la chambre si l’on veut tenir des boissons au frais mais vraiment cela ne nous a pas dérangé. Le personnel très sympathique. Vraiment un très bon rapport qualité prix.

Staff was great, very clean, phenomenal breakfast, and nice pool area. Its was nice to be in walking distance to everything without having to rent a car- that was a plus and what I was originally looking for.
It’s a cute place but if you’re looking for a coffee maker in your room or a place to set your toiletries in the bathroom other than the back of the toilet, this isn’t the place for you. You also get charged an additional $150 resort fee on top of your stay which is absolutely absurd after how much you pay to stay there without room service or being able to take your food back to your room. I honestly would’ve paid less with more amenities at a Marriott with no extra hidden charges until arrival and then another $150 deposit pending on your card until check out.

This hotel is a great option for a short stay in Miami. It’s not glamorous but the location is excellent. The rooms are dated but clean. The full breakfast each day is a huge money saver in over-priced Miami Beach. I can’t give it 5 stars as there are imperfections (thin walls, limited furnishings, tiny bathroom) but it does deserve 4 solid stars. There’s a nice pool. The staff is lovely. The rate is very reasonable. You can’t do much better for the price.
