We arrived at the president’s hotel on Friday night. The room was spacious and conveniently located near the beach. The staff members were nice, and we stayed for three days for Formula 1.

However, there were a few issues—the phone was unplugged, there was limited storage space, and the bathroom lacked counter space for personal items. We also had to report a broken handle, which was fixed the next day.

Breakfast was disappointing, as the eggs were cold and the potatoes tasted old. On a positive note, the pool area was very clean, quiet, and relaxing.

We were also mistakenly charged for valet parking, and I hope this is resolved without needing to follow up after checkout.

The hotel was very clean, we had no issues with our room. The room is quite small, but perfect as we were out and about for majority of our stay. The staff were friendly and quick to help when needed! Breakfast was decent, everything is fresh which was nice. The pool area was also very clean and wasn’t crazy busy majority of the time.

We had a wonderful stay at the President Hotel, the hotel very clean, the staff very nice the breakfast had a wide selection of items and the food was good. I’ll start with negative feedback first. They gave us a room on the 4th floor; elevator was not working from 3rd to the 4th floor. At the 4:00 am, there was loud banging and dragging noise on top of our room; happened again at 8ish morning. Shower temperature was way too low. They cleaned our room but forgot to leave towels back in the room. Breakfast very simple.
Positive feedback: great neighborhood; walking distance to the beach and restaurants; clean rooms; nice staffs.

DO NOT LET THE BELLMAN ARRANGE TRAVEL! He cost us $200 to get from Miami Beach to the Port of Miami. Maybe 5 miles from the hotel. The hotel is old, not updated. the room (penthouse) we stayed in was small but seemed clean. I will say that it did have ice cold A/C, which is a definite plus in that area. There was a breakfast with eggs and bacon that's doled out in a serving line. There's a resort fee even though this was by no means a resort but simple a hotel within a couple of blocks from the beach, which we did walk to and that was nice. Our biggest problems were the old hotel smell, the scary tiny elevator with the out of date license on it, and the bellman that cost us as much money as our stay for one ride maybe five miles to the cruise ship. I hope he enjoyed spending his cut of our ride because that was down right theft. I learned to NEVER accept a ride without getting an agreed rate up front.

Great position one row back from the beach, and rooftop pool nice and secluded. Staff really nice at reception and at breakfast, even if breakfast seating area small and sometimes a bit hectic. Rooms good, spacious, clean but communal areas a bit grubby and could do with an upgrade.

Location is perfect! Walk to beach & shopping. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Room was spacious & clean. Bathroom sink has no place to put things. Pool is smaller than it appears in photos. Breakfast was just ok. Lobby & front patio area are great and there’s a back courtyard where you can eat your breakfast which is nice. I would stay there again!

For the price this hotel is great. The room was clean, spacious, and well maintained. It was located in a passageway between two buildings of the hotel but it was wide enough that we got sun during the day and far enough from the street to be quiet at night. The balcony was a great place to spend a little time in the afternoon. The included breakfast was fine and the bar in the evening was a nice place to have a glass of wine and watch the foot traffic. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

The refrigerator wasn’t working. The Ac smelled pee when turned down to get cooler, the toilet handles was bent out and hard to flush. Overall is what not what I expected. Not worth the money I sent.

Great location, and nice hotel overall. We stayed a few nights and were checked in by both Henry and Mark. Both were very professional, friendly and helpful. Our stay included breakfast and a nice welcome cocktail. Rooms were nice sized and clean. Great central location , and only 3 minutes walk from the beach.

I loved the room I received at this old school Florida hotel. It was clean and bright. The bed was comfortable and the air worked great. There was plenty of hot water. The deadbolt didn’t work and they told us it couldn’t be repaired and that there were no more rooms available. We simply put chairs and bags in front of the door. We’ve actually had the front desk at an another hotel key another guest for our room. So we are quite cautious. That’s pretty scary at 2:00 in the morning to have someone open your door other than the emergency latch. It could also be dangerous for many reasons. My friend had the “penthouse” ant the President and it was nowhere near the quality the name brings to mind. It was old and the balcony was dirty with cigarette ash everywhere. They must have left the doors open because the room smelled of smoke. I think I would have fussed about it because of my allergies, but we were just passing through. I hate she wasted $200 for an upgrade that wasn’t there. But for a couple hundred dollars you can’t go wrong if you need a unique boutique type hotel for an overnight stay with their king rooms.

the location and breakfast and some of the staff are clearly a great value. However the bathroom in general are not at par with a 2* star hotel. The closet door was broken. The shower only had a curtain and floor corners had signs of aging and sticky. On second day while I was on a work call, the house keeping lady comes in and even if I told her to come later as I’m in a call, she didn’t bother she kept coming in and dumped towels on my luggage and was checking the closet door. I told her to go and come back. She have a look and left and that day they didn’t clean the room. The bathroom soap gel was not refilled on day 2 as the lady decided not to come. And you are given only 1 travel size gel. The 3rd day was pleasant. But overall for what I paid I was tad upset.

In short I will have marked it as very good if the housekeeping didn’t mess up and bathroom has more soap and was not sticky.

Location is really good, about 0.1 mile to the beach. So you get to go to beach anytime quickly. Staff was good but some did not understand English. There was no coffee machine inside the room nor it was there in the lobby for the day. That’s the minimum any hotel can provide. The only bread toaster at the breakfast area did not work. People complained to the staff to fix it for a few days and the staff is also aware. But apparently the management is not looking into it. Breakfast ends sharp at 10:30. We happened to be late on first day due to travel. Although we got the first serving, all the items at the table were picked up at 10:30 and we could not get anything additional.
If you prefer to stay here just because of location then other things can be ignored.

Booked a day pass while waiting for a flight after a cruise. What a nice way to relax and unwind. The kids loved the outdoor pool. Staff was very nice and helpful. The airport shuttle was a great perk that saved us another taxi ride.

I booked the President Hotel, but when I checked in was told that we were upgraded to their sister hotel The Penguin. The Penguin was on the beach side, versus The President being a block off the beach. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was a bit small (the door actually hit the toilet each time the door was closed). The pool and the breakfast area were in The President hotel, so we had a bit of a walk to get to each.

A clean simple place to stay in a great location. I couldn’t get the water warm during the first shower use, but the staff was very good about sending up maintenance right away. They just told me that it needed to run for 10 minutes first. They give you ample towels for the pool and the beach. The buffet breakfast was a great addition. However, it is a basic hotel, nothing fancy. I didn’t like their shampoo and I didn’t find the beds to be very comfortable. Fine for an affordable quick getaway. They also give you two free water bottles a day, which is nice.

Next time I go, I will make sure to book a room with the balcony! Oh I forgot to mention that the valet was great and reasonable! Only thing I would suggest is that they upgraded the elevator! 😉

This was our second time staying at the president hotel and it is the absolute best! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast is such a great perk- and delicious and fresh. The location is killer - right by the beautiful beach, ocean drive and seconds from espanola way. We brought our teenage kids and they also had the best time! Def recommend and will be back again!!

I did not fancy my say as I wanted my mom to feel comfortable and she wasn’t. We were placed in a room close to the laundry where we were getting all the lint and smell of detergent. That caused her sinus to raise and the stay was unpleasant as she kept coughing throughout the stay. Further, we could not get shower gel and also the breakfast was not as expected.
